It's another toxin in the body.
" The nicotine in cigarettes causes narrowing of the blood vessels in the outermost layers of your skin. This impairs blood flow to your skin. With less blood flow, your skin doesn't get as much oxygen and important nutrients, such as vitamin A. ... As a result, skin begins to sag and wrinkle prematurely because of smoking."

I used Flamy, but it did cost somewhere between $2-6. I forget exactly how much. I like it, though. Helpful reminders, lots of info that reminds me why I quit and how far I've come. Link to google play.
Fair enough. I didn’t mean to come across as rude and tried my best not to. I’ve had friends and family who quit with sweets as substitutes and swore it was not smoking that caused their weight gain.
If you were to mix and drink some of these meal replacements in between meals throughout your day it would definitely help you out on some weight. They are meal replacements and I’ve used something similar when I’ve been cutting weight instead of eating. If you used it to supplement your food intake and not skip meals it would probably help you.
Ps this saved me lots of times. Worthy investment
Just start reading https://www.amazon.com/Allen-Carrs-Easy-Stop-Smoking/dp/0615482155 . if you know that is bad for you then you are on a right path to quit smoking. Now you have to begin this fight. It wont be easy, you will have terrible time, suffer, bargain, beg yourself, try to cheat but with each „No” you will be stronger
I'm only on my third day, but Allen Carr's Easy Way to Quit Smoking Without Willpower (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G146HCS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_d_asin_title_o02?ie=UTF8&psc=1) helped me the most.
Quit while you're ahead! When I started smoking I told myself I would quit when I no longer got a head rush from 1 cigarette. Here I am 24 years later, probably more than 100, 000 cigarettes later, never getting a buzz of it, knowing it's leading to a slow painful death, and still I crave it.
Take action and break the chain while it's weak. IT'S ALWAYS EVER DOWNHILL!!!!!!
Google quit smoking resources there's a lot that can help you understand how addiction works and how to break the associations you talk about.
When I have quit for months at a time I've found this app helpful: Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.herzberg.easyquitsmoking Iphone: https://itunes.apple.com/app/id1508110799
Good luck, and keep us posted.
I'm a big audio guy and I don't think smoking causes any hearing loss. You most likely have a blockage. Go to you dr to get them flushed or go pick up some Debrox.
I read the kindle version of this, though I’m sure the other book you mentioned (which I haven’t seen yet) is likely an updated version of this one, given that so many people say “I’ll just vape”.
Now that you don't smoke, you need to create new ways to respond to stress. I also had the pleasure to read on here advice about box breathing. Breathe in through the nose 4, hold 4, out through the mouth 4, hold 4. A couple of rounds of those and it brings your tension back down to a manageable level. It's great and really works. I now have an app on my phone that helps me through the process. Although I don't need an app it's just a reminder to keep building that skill. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.havabee.breathe
Gum never worked for me. I quited few weeks ago with nesmokesen, try maybe will help you as well https://www.amazon.com/Nesmokesen-Smoking-Relaxed-Capsules-Supply/dp/B09RVMNJR3/
Good luck and always try till you make it!!
Any sort of inhalant into the lungs and respatory system isn't healthy, but I also get it. I didn't stop vaping because of my lungs. I stopped cause I couldn't smell shit anymore. If that hadn't been a consequence, I wouldn't have stopped.
I bought one of these, and there's a nice little pull to it, but there's no cloud or anything. It's literally a tube with a weight in the middle that creates drag like on a cigarette or vape: Quit Smoking Aid Oxygen Inhaler + Soft Tip Chewable Filter to Help Curb Cravings, Nicotine Free Non-Addictive Stop Smoking Support & Oral Fixation Relief (1 Pack, Menthol) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R7NCRXB/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_Z3RS20EW84732RSJF96G
There are also personal essential oil diffusers like Füme, and CBD oil pens that you can find are your local store and Online.
If you get off the nicotine vape and start to feel anxious, irritable, get headaches, feel depression etc then that's withdrawal and you were addicted. It takes 3 months for them to get fewer and far between.
You don't really enjoy it though. What's your favorite meal? Do you eat it 10 times a day, every day? When you started smoking, did you say "this tastes great, I'm going to keep doing this 10-20 times a day for years to come." When you smoke, do you consciously tell yourself after each drag how great this taste/feels? Most likely not, and I'd bet you don't even think about how it feels when you're doing it. You just do it because after each smoke the nicotine withdrawal kicks in instantly and causes a chain reaction.
We've be programmed to think that quitting is hard. All the commercials etc saying it's hard to do - so right off the bat, we picture this doom and gloom post quit life rather than being happy and anticipating being smoke free.
It's important to educate yourself to understand the psychological reasons you smoke.
Be patient with yourself and a great way to work on your smoking habit is finding a healthy new habit and making sure to give yourself a good reward after. "The Power of Habit" helped me change the way I look at my struggles with smoking. A good distraction can go a long way too!!! Good luck and be kind to yourself! You are so strong 💪
I'm part of a couple book groups. Maybe you start one with your friends?

I got mine on Amazon. I'm in the UK. It's a bit like this one timer safe
Man, I’ve done it all. I dipped for a couple years, it’s actually how I got started on nicotine. My journey started dipping in high school, then onto cigarettes, then the JUUL. When it comes down to brain chemistry, It’s all the same shit, and it’s all bad.
My biggest recommendation that I give to anyone who’s addicted to nicotine is to check out Allen Carr. It worked for me, it was shockingly effective.
His books basically dispel all the myths and lies that you’ve internalized about nicotine to rationalize your addiction. I didn’t think I was doing it myself, but once I got about 3/4 through the book I discovered I was rationalizing my smoking in a dozen different ways I didn’t even realize.
They have a special book for chewing tobacco. I highly recommend it- it’s easy to read and you don’t even need to quit to start, in fact they encourage you to use while reading.

For the price of two packs of cigarettes and four hours of your time YOU can save your life. I smoked like a chimney for years and years, more than a pack a day.
Allen Carr's Easy Way To Stop Smoking is kinda amazing. Give it a shot. You can find free PDFs if you’re strapped for cash.

Hi! Check out Flamy app. I liked it. I know there are a lots of ways to quit so I'm just gonna advice you from how I did it. The most important thing for me was to plan a date, and get rid of the cigarettes so that you don't have any in this date. Before this date I just had decided I would smoke as much as I wanted without any guilt. I did a list about why I wanted to stop and I said to everyone I planned to stop on that particular date. After that I kept focusing on the effort I was making (the Flamy app helps you to do that). I just kept thinking about how I didn't want to waste the effort with just one stupid cigarette. Good luck

What about some hard chewy licorice? These are the absolute chewiest licorice I have ever tried. You could work on one for at least 20 minutes.

It does leave a strong smell for a while after using it, but it does go away. Amazon reviews and the directions should be enough info to research it yourself.

This book is not just some self help book. It broke records for the longest time on the NY times bestseller list. It is fantastic, and helps you in a deeper way than just willpower. Please do yourself a HUGE favor and pick it up.
Hey there! First off - props to you for deciding to quit... that is (in my opinion) the hardest part - Letting go.
One thing that has helped me is Alan Carr’s Book. This really put my addiction into perspective and allowed me to really work through my cravings without the help of nicotine patches/gum or vapes.
I also began doing acupuncture to help with easing the anxiety/stress. I started drinking a TON of water and made sure to exercise.
To give you a back story - i was a smoker for 10 years. I quit back in Nov 2018. I have had a few slip ups which aren’t ideal but completely normal. Just remember to be gentle with yourself and know that you will conquer this addiction. It just takes some time to work through it :)
I deal with high anxiety and also just quit cold turkey 3 days ago. I take over the counter anxiety pills that are natural and not overpowering at all.
Anxie-T - Anti Anxiety Support Supplements that Combat Stress - Natural Calm and Stress Supplement - Feel more Relaxed - Contains Kava Kava, GABA, L-Theanine (60 Capsules) - LifeSeasons https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008KPZN4A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_b11ABb05F4774
Give that a try, and tell yourself with overwhelming confidence and sincereity that you are strong and this is easy. Acknowledge the anxiety and know that it will pass.
