You do NOT want any blades on the tools you use as they can break and damage the coat extremely easily. Honestly the only brushes I use for my own dogs is a soicker brush and a comb for tangles and I own 3 aussies. Along with monthly deshed baths and blow outs, they hardly shed at all and have nice coats
I would highly recommend this book to you!
Pit Bull: The Battle over an American Icon https://www.amazon.com/dp/0345803116/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Vn.lCbBR3VY85
Pitbulls (kinda silly name since includes a bunch of completely different breeds that all originated for different reasons) used to be viewed as America's most beloved dogs! They were WW1 heroes, beloved family pets, and even the most common dogs used in advertising in the beginning of the 20th century. They were the every man's dog! But eventually towards the 70s, there grew to be a massive media push to label these dogs as innately aggressive murderers. Why the change? Well, lots of reasons, but it's not actually because they are all killers or evil dogs! In fact, almost all veterinarians and the CDC agree that banning pitbulls doesnt even reduce incidence of dog bites at all! Fascinating stuff!
I don't have the time to rewrite their entire history, but I do hope this was enough to pique your interest and maybe you'll give a few chapters of the book a chance! Even if you still hate pitbulls, it's a very interesting and compelling read on their history, and breaks down all the reasons why they fell out of favor in the public eye. I love dogs and thought I knew a lot about them and I was truly surprised by all the info!
There's a really good book, What Animals Think and Feel, which discusses this phenomenon and interviews a lot of field researchers about the subject.
It's a really good read.
Furminator is okay, but an undercoat rake like this is what a groomer would use, and will do much better to not damage the topcoat. I use one on my aussie and he loves it.

My dogs tolerate basically nothing in the way of tooth brushing, the closest I can get is to use tooth wipes. I found these at tjmaxx a while back and have since reordered them online, but it does help their breath for a day or two. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075Y1RH6Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_BU-mDbBBCPPKV
Poor girl, hope she feels better.
Advice - a neoprene "sock" you can slide off and off that cast for going outside. Water/pee/dew will make it get wet and start falling apart and plastic bags don't last. We used something like one of these that we folded just right so we could fairly quickly get it on and off at potty time.

Thanks! Here's a link to it. It's a definite hit with her. she's always liked having her own spot at home, so we knew an outdoor bed would be nice. She's about 70 lbs and it holds her well, not sure how it would do with a heavier pup though
I really liked how easy it made giving her bones and treats without bugs getting to them

I honestly don't know but I can look. I bought that 10 years ago for my now very old yellow lab. I'm pretty sure I saw them when I had to go in Petco recently. found one
It's not the same one as OP. But I found this on amazon.
Searching "car dog seat" brought up a bunch more.
There great for the rivers and creeks. No lines to tangle or reels to mess up. Worse that would happen is you lose a fly or get stuck in the brush. I have the cheap one strapped to my camping bag. You can stop over by r/tenkara though it is somewhat dead, sadly.
Good to know! Avoid training methods that involve collar-yanking or other negative feedback. Behavioral science has demonstrated again and again that positive reinforcement is much, much more effective, and produces many fewer undesirable problems.
Angry yelling is counterproductive with dogs.

Get a cage like this and put it in the trunk. Best get a wagon if you have a dog that gets dirty a lot. Then you can just hose the cage down to keep it clean. It'll keep all the dirt and hair inside and it's safer for dpgs than putting them on the back seat.
Try one of these. We just got one for our dog. She could move around more easily and still kept her from living her wound.
Best I can come up with.
The price went WAY up. I just looked on Chewy and the this Wisdom Panel test is the cheapest at $79.99. You got a heck of a deal on yours!

My lab mix has really terrible environmental allergies and gets patchy skin. Cue the doctor prescribing a special medicated shampoo.
Once I ran out I started buying this anti-microbial shampoo which is nearly identical to the vet one and leaves my boy smelling AMAZING.

You put frozen chunks of melon, banana, ice chips, whatever they eat in there and they get to gum at it. Cold, takes them longer to eat and soothes sore gums.
Let's get OP a cheesy 90's laser background. It's, like, $20. make a background wishlist. Let's go.
You could try Worthington the inside. I give my boys this and my one pup thathad kinda coarse hair his whole life got much softer hair.
Loobani treat toy In case anyone wants the Amazon link.
I don’t know the English name for it but it’s called “Roli” in Hindi. Sometimes it’s also made from Sandalwood (Chandan in Hindi). The roli is generally used with Clarified Butter ( Ghee in Hindi ) or curd; so it sticks to the forehead of the recipient. As for it being blessed, it is. The Roli is kept at the feet of God while worshipping which is then applied by everyone present there later. But honestly, it’s in the heart, what you believe in. If you want it to bring the good energies to you, you just have to believe it would and it will.
Here’s a link for Roli that I found on amazon,
Laal Kumkum (Roli) for Tilak and Pooja 50 gm https://www.amazon.in/dp/B071RM8KMM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_FKC8YK66601QVC5KDX95
Them big paws need nail caps to protect your hardwood floors! Also gives him more grip so he doesn't slip around.
This is what I use for my dogs, adjust size as needed.
Yeah, as the other person said, they have a very petite build, especially the females. They are long, lanky, slender dogs. The males are similar but a bit bulkier and tend to have a wider snout, but it mainly depends on the parents.
I think our 6 year old weighs 45 pounds, but she was the runt of the litter so she’s a bit small.
My sister, who actually also has a 9 month old, I believe he weighs about 50lbs. They’re about the same height, but he’s still filling out.
These are a little pricey, but this brush will be a lifesaver for their curly hair. Brush
I also recommend getting a dremel for her claws. This is slightly debated, but I think they’re more humane than the clippers, plus they are less traumatic and easier to desensitize the pups to. Something like this, but maybe a higher quality one in the long run.
Thanks 😁, love my baby girl. A semantic quibble though, in general dogs learn "safe" and "not safe", they learn when to stop, and like anything else there's some nature wiring in there as well. I try and push chapter 1 of this book on everyone. I think it does a great job of allowing for a balanced idea of "No bad dogs"

I’m sure any vibrating collar would work. We work with a lot of fosters so we wanted something that would have multiple uses
We saw this happen to our pup WITH a boot on. The best thing to help it heal was human blister bandages. They are super durable. After he healed up, the pads were stronger and he didn’t have the issue again.

Ironically I received this reply while outside working with my dog.
Just so you know there are entire books written on the topic of why human ways of expressing ourselves create a lot of the behavioral issues we see in dogs: https://www.amazon.com/Other-End-Leash-What-Around/dp/034544678X
Haha, yeah we did the same. Although ever since we splurged on a new bed and blanket for our senior citizen dog (for her old bones), she is in there more than on the couch!
It was the best purchase I've ever made, and she loves her new bed and soft blankie. I got the blanket also because the bed is for up to a 45# dog. As our dog is only 30#, it fills in the empty spot nicely.
Can someone plz fill in this questionnaire plz for some college work

Well isn’t Woffie so cute! Start reading and watching training videos. Be consistent everyday with the words and commands you use. For our animals and even myself I use a Hypochlorous solutions on open wounds to prevent infection and promote healing. Kills all the bad stuff plus leaves the good tissue alone.
We used to have cheap Costco beds for our dogs, they would do this for a solid 5-10 minutes every night before bed, and then get up in the middle of the night to do it some more. We finally (about a month ago) bought them their own personal bean bag beds, and they've been so happy! No more circling and digging, they just flompf into it, let out a BIG sigh, and pass the heck out XD
I love everything about the adventures he’s still having thanks to you!
Do you have a dog harness with a handle? Those make a huge difference when moving around old dogs—at least being able to lift them a little while they “walk” on their own.

They are so sparkly white!!! Whiter than my own dang teeth, lol. We really don't do anything special at all. We feed them all the same crunchy food (bc I read it's better to give them kibble to help keep the teeth clean) and I periodically give them all various dental treats. I'm not loyal to any brand or regular with dispensation. I found some animal shaped teeth cleaning treats at Marshall's and that's what they've been getting lately. She LOVES to chew and that probably helps a bit. We have plenty of semi-hard toys (like Nylabone and this mixed-texture iguana that she is VERY fond of). Also she's just a year and a half so still pretty young. She's just got the good teeth genes!
Get your puppy a happy hoodie! It's the best thing for my skittish dog and fireworks. Just completely incapacitates her, keeps her relaxed and calm. I'd definitely recommend it for these moments.
It looks like your dog would do well with a puzzle toy. Something like this
There easy ones and hard ones and it would encourage your dog to play with the toy and not the water bowl
Looks kinda like a Staffordshire Terrier mix. Could be way off, though. We grabbed one of these K9 DNA Tests off Amazon. Wife used to work at the vet and that was the brand they used - at least around where we live.
Sif looks just like my dog! GoughnutsGoughnuts is the only dog toy he can't destroy. The double ring is great for playing tug.
Found the same xylophone online (link), and at first glance the purple & pink keys do indeed appear to be the same length.
Just curious tho, why is this significant? I'm afraid I'm rather xylophone-naive.

We have a “car seat” for my boy. It’s basically a cover that goes up the back of the seat and forms a little bed/box at the bottom. Helps keep things a little bit cleaner and it’s waterproof. I think this is the one we have:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07VMFLSC1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_qL.bGbF3X7DHS
I was talking about car booster seats for dogs that would let him comfortably sit up and look out the window so that the motion he sees matches up with the motion he feels (which can alleviate motion sickness). It’s why people almost never feel motion sickness when they are the driver. Front seat with the window slightly cracked works best! Not sure if your dog has that problem of not being able to easily look out the window, but the car seat has the added benefit of keeping dogs safely strapped in. If that doesn’t work, maybe don’t feed him before driving. :(
Is Mia ready? I’m not sure, we need some more pictures and videos to be 100 percent positive.
Be careful with that belt collar and the leftover belt, it can get caught on things. One easy and really cheap way to secure it is just tape it down the excess with with duct tape. One piece of tape about an inch wide at the end wrapped around tightly and then another inch wide piece in the middle. Wrap each around twice just to be safe.
If you think duct tape is ugly, it comes in every color including brown which will match better.
My yorkie asks for his clothes! They get cold :/
This one is the best! https://www.amazon.com/Mogoko-Halloween-Pumpkin-Costume-Costumes/dp/B073R6PP53/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=pumpkin+costume+dog&qid=1607816675&sr=8-4
Peanut is such a great name for him, and Peanut looks like an excellent moving supervisor.
You might want to check that collar, it looks a little loose. The best fit is high on the dog’s neck, it doesn’t slide down, and you can slide two fingers between the dog’s neck and the collar.
If you keep posting photos (and you should) wrap some non-transparent tape (something like duct tape or electrical tape) around Peanut’s tags. This way people can’t get your personal information off his tags. In this picture it just looks like his rabies tag is visible and the pictures is taken from too far away to read anything easily. Tag bags like these are also available, but the tape costs less.
This one looks very similar to OP's.

There are much cheaper ones but you do want to be careful not to cheap out too much. They aren't nearly as regulated as human seatbelts (not at all) so some of them the dog is actually safer unbuckled due to risk of broken bones/strangulation. Buckled or unbuckled, dogs should always be in the backseat and sitting/laying down.

Aww, that is a cute age. Definitely the perfect age to get her used to grooming!
In case you want recommendations, I would use two types of brushes on her coat - the first being a de-shedding blade type such as the Furry Fido. (furminators are the same thing but not as good) and a rubber Kong zoom groom. The first one gets the undercoat out like you were describing, the latter removes the top-coat furs that are loose. You can follow up with a regular old brush/comb to straighten the fur if you want to haha.
