First step is to unlock the bootloader. Go to HTCdev.com and there are instructions to unlock the bootloader. Note this will erase everything on your phone so make sure to back up. Then you have to install a custom recovery. I like TWRP. TWRP: https://twrp.me/devices/htconexinternational.html Follow the instructions on that page under Fastboot Install Method (No Root Required).
Then you need superSU SuperSU: http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu Put that on your phone and then go to recovery and install that and you will be rooted.
this is easy. just log in to Kik, go into titanium backup, find kik and choose "restore data only"
then your messages should be there, while still logged in. or, you could disable your internet access and look through the messages offline. then it won't log you out.
alternatively, you could use this app to look at old messages, however it won't restore them back into the app.
The first step you need is a customer recovery. You can head over to
TWRP: https://twrp.me/devices/samsunggalaxys5qualcomm.html
TWRP is a good custom recovery. Then you just need to find a ROM. Have you been to XDA?
Actually, I'm trying a different flash now.
https://twrp.me/devices/htcdesire816.html
But it's not working. When I get to the cmd prompt line 'fastboot flash recovery twrp.img' and hit enter, I receive the error 'error cannot load twrp.img'.
Slightly infuriating. The other commands work and it seems I'm opening the cmd prompt from the right folder (shift + open cmd from this folder) which is the platform-tools folder.
Any ideas? My phone is connected and I'm in fastboot. Do I need to be in recovery instead or?
First download Odin http://www.downloadodin.info/download-odin-3-07
Then download the TWRP: https://twrp.me/devices/samsunggalaxys5qualcomm.html
Follow the instructions for using ODIN. Press the PDA button and load TWRP that you downloaded.
On your phone power it down.
With the phone off pres the Volume down, Home, and Power button.
The phone will give you the option to go into Download mode or reset.
Go into download mode and plug in your phone. Tap on Start
Power down your device and press volume up, home and power until your phone turns on. Then tap on reboot. Tap system. And then it will ask you if you want to install SuperSu. say yes and you are rooted.
There is one way that involves using odin to flash to the bootloader twrp or cwr. Twrp and cwr will autoroot the stock rom. I think that the bootloader for T-Mobile is unlocked. However, this will not work if the bootloader is locked.
Disclosure: I work for KingRoot
Def sounds like your phone is bricked. You can try flashing the ROM using a program like StockROM but there is chance you might have to take it into your carrier.
This is a good guide on flashing and ROMs in general: (http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/what-is-meant-by-firmware-stock-custom-roms-and-flashing-guide/)
you can't make the entire thing primary storage, but you can use foldermount to link each folder individually. the free version only allows three. I highly recommend you buy the full version. or you can pirate it if you want
Since your phone is rooted, use folder mount.
You can use that to move its external data to the sdcard. I'm not entirely sure it'll work though
To root my Kyocera Brigadier E6782 I had success with kingroot, and then used Super Sume to clear out kingroot and its shady apps.

You probably have T-Mobile. The best thing to use is Wifi Tether Router. T-Mobile sees that you are using the data from your phone as a hotspot and that takes the data from the 4GB allotment. With Wifi Tether Router it will mark the traffic as coming from your phone and not from a computer.

You will need a app called Super SuMe to remove King user and to install Super Su
