My father has ALS and has lost control in both legs and most of his arms, making him bed bound 24/7. To help, we received a "Bariatric Alternating Pressure and Low Air Loss" bed. Recently our pet bird bit the air hose supplying the bed twice. This caused one gaping hole and one rip.
I tried patching it with a "Flex Seal Pool Patch and Repair Kit" and it seemed to somewhat work. It has been two weeks and the bed now stays 70% inflated and the low-pressure warning sounds every ten minutes.
In addition, it only works when set to the exact settings in the pictures above. The hoses feel like rubber to me and I have toyed with the idea of applying a cauk sealant but am scared of causing any further permanate damage.
We are struggling for money and received this bed through assistance. We cannot afford to replace it and need to keep it running without any gaps since he cannot be moved off it and normal bedding would quickly cause bed sores. I don't know who or what kind of repairman would cover this topic. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
