I wouldn't hold my breath. Just use this extension to make it compatible: https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/?src=api
In 80-90% of all cases extensions work fine with a new major Firefox version, they're just marked as incompatible.
I had this problem, but resolved it by adding "https://www.reddit.com/" to the Content Sites list in the Add-on. I still let the old URL remain, so maybe you need to have both in there. Don't lose hope just yet.
You can install the Add-on compatibility reporter for beta versions of Firefox, in order to enable incompatible extensions, and report potential problems. It currently allows me to run Socialite successfully on Firefox 5.
