If you’re looking for a drum that isn’t $500, just go for the Taiko Switch Hori drum, it’s about $100usd, but it’s not perfect. I’ve had trouble with it responding to my hits and some slight syncing issues (but my tv is weird so that’s a factor as well). It’s good if you’re looking for a drum for the game, but it’s not arcade quality
this bad boy is INCREDIBLE for the job! I use this not only for taiko, but for anything that I want to use an incompatible controller on. Super useful to have nearby!
Taiko no Tatsujin controller "Taiko and Stick for Nintendo Switch" Japanese ver. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D1H7CW3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_PJ82A1KD15JM5XFCMA3V
This was around what I paid for mine plus $10 for fast shipping. I’d say it’s worth it, it’s way more difficult but more fun, you just have to learn good technique to be able to play it well and that takes time.
Depends on what kind of drumstick you're looking for.
Are you looking for actual drumsticks like these? If so, pretty much every music shop carries them.
Are you looking for custom Taiko sticks like these? If so, you have a few options, depending on where you live. (Protip: don't buy these on amazon, they're hit-or-miss but they're generally trash).
Options include buying custom sticks online (or from locals if there's a Taiko community in your area) and making them yourself.
Honestly it depends on what you're playing on. At the arcade, custom sticks (NOT actual drumsticks; those damage the sensors) work fine. At home on a tatacon, drumsticks or even any sticks are completely fine.
And your options can potentially expand depending on your location and how much money you're willing to pay.
This isn’t the exact product but it looks very close. It’s just a roll off non skid cushioning with holes, and then you cut out with scissors how big a piece you want. Lay it flat and put the drum on top. It makes it so the drum won’t move around because it grips it tight. Before I used this type of thing I was just putting cans of potatoes behind the drum in hopes that they were heavy enough I wouldn’t push the drum back lol
Easy solution would be with the Brook wingman XB. The adapters work great and support tons of controllers, taiko drum as well.
On amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Brook-Wingman-Support-Controllers-Consoles/dp/B08H1SYGWV
It's in the German e-shop. The physical version with the drum is also on Amazon. Not sure what you're having trouble finding?
Thank you! Does the web version also work with other taiko controllers that are not Hori? Something like this
Either one should be fine, though you'll probably want to get a Brook Wingman adapter to get your PC to recognize it as an Xbox controller.
Once the adapter arrives, you can follow the included directions to update its firmware, then remap both sides of the drum surface as follows:
Once the buttons are remapped, make sure the in-game control style is set to type 2, and you should be good to go.
Well, the best I could find was this amazon japan product listing that has the dimensions and weight in the product details. Hope it can help you.
I found some grip tape on amazon for drumsticks but if you dont want to spend money use electrical tape, here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/Vater-VGTB-Grip-Black-4-Pack/dp/B000GE7OE0?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
Thank you! I got this one, but if it's not available in your country, try searching for something like "1mm rubber adhesive sheet." As long as it's 1mm thick and has adhesive on one side, it should work!
You can get one of these - https://www.amazon.com/JSAUX-Adapter-Compatible-MacBook-Samsung/dp/B08L3BWK3Z/ref=sr_1_10?crid=6YTXOL9XQ6L1&keywords=usb%2Bc%2Badapter&qid=1650494793&sprefix=usb%2Bc%2Badapte%2Caps%2C221&sr=8-10&th=1 - It should work just fine. My old knockoff drum had one of these included and was all I used with my Switch Lite
Hey gang! I think I want to get into the game but have so many questions, I love rhythm games and played an ungodly amount of beat saber at one point but I think taiko looks rad. It seems most people have the hori controller so I was looking at this bundle
https://www.amazon.com/Taiko-Tatsujin-Drum-Fun-Bundle-Nintendo/dp/B07K2CPQR3
Is this a good deal/grab? Some reviews say their drum broke rather quickly but other places I’ve seen say the drum is very well built and will last ages. Also, how difficult would the pc version be to set up? Thank you in advance!
Good news I bought a brook adapter to use ps4 e-box and it worked perfectly it's really plug in play the only thing I had to do is remap the buttons and that all also the switch e-box works too surprisingly this is the one I bought I PS3/PS4 to Xbox One Controller Adapter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WJ1HONE/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_R6GPETJ7BHEAE4CKC5FY i bought it on eBay instead because I found it more cheaper
Hello,
This is the rope I used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B093S2KFKZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I didn't measure but there's a ton of it left. If I had to guess it is probably about 10 feet? I wrapped it around twice and tucked it in between the two layers of rope.
No adhesives or anything like that. The rope just sits in the recessed area perfectly.
These are the ones I bought. They're out of stock, but the seller sells it in different colors. You can also just search up maibachi or マイバチ (same thing) in amazon jp. I just went for one in the~6,000 yen range with good reviews. Just make sure you're looking in Amazon JP.
I use this, and instead of the foam mat I use a bit of Blu Tack to keep it from slipping. Then I can adjust the height to play standing or sitting.
If you want you could try something like this for your wiimote
I recommend the Taiko Arcade on the top level of Sunamo Mall since it's not crowded and there are multiple drums. A lot of amenities are also available, and the restaurants are on the same level. So you could do some Taiko, grab a snack, and go back to playing.
You may want to refer to the Magic-S Pro adapter instead of the Magic-NS. I saw you posted this and thought it's another alternative as the Magic-S Pro another Redditor talked about (https://www.reddit.com/r/taikonotatsujin/comments/p85nmm/anyone_tested_drums_on_ps5_also_taiko_drum/). But I never get this one work...until I realized that it is NOT compatible with PS4 (which makes it works with PS5 also).
Magic-NS System Compatibility: Switch . PlayStation 3 . Windows . NEOGEO mini . PS Classic . SNK NEOGEO Arcade Stick PRO
Magic-S System Compatibility: Nintendo Switch . PlayStation 4 . PlayStation 3 . Windows . NEOGEO mini . PS Classic
You could just replace it senor Luvay 12Pcs Piezo Pickup Transducer Prewired - 27mm Contact Microphone Trigger - Discs Elements for Acoustic Instrument: Guitar, Drum, CBG etc. with Leads https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0775V78D1/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_PK34MTJ1EX34J9TRF3WJ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I've been playing Taiko on my Google Pixel 2XL for a few days no and it works great! Although I had to adjust the timing to -17. Also, it's entirely in Japanese but you can figure it out eventually.
I Know it's not the best, but what do you think of this?
Is it this one? Bewinner Wired Drum & Drumstick Controller for Nintendo Wii Electronic Game Drum Kit for Taiko No Tatsujin Drum Drumsticks for Nintendo Wii Console Remote Controller Video Game https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Q5YJNCN/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_PGMY6PHKQY75CVR3HYCC

and two glas Fanta bottles. Works pretty well.
Amazon sells the official version, it's pricey but if you want it sooner you can get it there.
Hey! I was able to get the Japan region Drum N Fun from US Amazon and there’s an English patch :)
Taiko No Tatsujin (English) - Nintendo Switch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GQ996Q1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_HK57ERA56GG2N5399GXG
Be aware, you must have a Japanese Nintendo Account to purchase DLC for this copy. However, with a little google translate it was pretty easy to set up. You can have up to 8 accounts on a Switch and they can all be different regions. Buy eshop cards from Play Asia if you really want some additional songs. Might be a bit of trouble but I love having a physical copy
I know this https://www.amazon.com/Taiko-Tatsujin-Drum-Fun-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B07K2CZYK2/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=taiko+no+tatsujin+drum+and+fun&qid=1622087219&sr=8-7 one says it but that other one is cheaper
The Brook super converter is a great way to use a Wii or Wii u drum on switch. I haven't seen many people talk about it on this sub. I think it's pretty new, but its a great solution. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VPSQX6Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_TKT7K0J843XN9C5H2QMM
You can find the app here. I think it's only on Android, and yes, it's pretty much just a simulator with touchscreen support.
Honestly, I still prefer the official app, even with the jank, the subscription, and it not even being officially available outside Japan. It's just a nicer experience overall. Audio delay on mobile devices is a pain to manage, though.
I had to order mine on Amazon it was $70 at the time but here's the link. This is the official one made by hori for the switch (Japan only release): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D1H7CW3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_QLk6Fb88Q00D7
I was referring to this, before I knew that I could buy from Japan’s amazon. Taiko no Tatsujin controller "Taiko and Stick for Nintendo Switch" Japanese ver. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D1H7CW3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_oHn6BbMS62KZK
Did you buy the switch or ps4 version?
Copying from my own post:
I am interested in buying the bundle version for the Switch, however I see that on Bandai Namco's store the title is slated for release at the end of February, while on Amazon it is already available even though it costs roughly 20€ more.
My question is: Is the game going to actually be sold on BN's website at the 110€ pricepoint or should I just accept that I have to pay more and get it on Amazon? AFAIK the game came out last year here in the EU, so that release date seems just a placeholder for an out of stock item, but I could be wrong.
for android:
just search up "taiko" and you'll find this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.daijiro.taiko2 I think it's decent and it takes tja files.
for iOS:
I think there's an official taiko sim on the jp app store, not sure about it, though.
The Hori Drum which is generally the best one is 85 on Amazon currently. It constantly fluctuates though.

I wouldn’t get any other one.
The cork is more about making the Don notes more bouncy and less spongy. I used this cork for my mod a month ago https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079NMRT9V
If you want more sensitivity, the mods that fill in or get rid of the holes in the top black cover of the sensor are more for that.
i used the bootleg ones and they were ok, official drum is much better :p
for the cheapest price make an account on amazon japan. and purchase the drum from the drum there, they will deliver globally and i got mine for 70 or 80 usd i don't remember, but it is a good price drop compared to buying it on US amazon
Is this the correct version? I see there is another listed by the same name at twice the price. Looking to use the one we bought for the switch on the PS4 as well.
https://www.amazon.com/Collective-Minds-CronusMaxPLUS-Dongle-Sound-Card/dp/B0144K8S3M
do these improve matters? you could drum on a sofa or something. https://smile.amazon.com/FYOUNG-Drumstick-Compatible-Tatsujin-Nintendo/dp/B07DZTQQ29/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1542395190&sr=8-9&keywords=taiko+no+tatsujin+sticks
I think this might be the adapter? https://www.amazon.com/Mayflash-Magic-NS-Wireless-Controller-Nintendo/dp/B079B5KHWQ/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1541496450&sr=8-5&keywords=switch+to+ps4+adapter Unfortunately it seems that the it's only meant for other controllers to work with PC, Switch and PS3
Only way you can is if you get a USB c cable that either splits so you have a port to charge and a normal USB port to plug the drum in. (People with pokken do this when they want to play undocked local games). https://www.amazon.ca/SinLoon-Splitter-Adapter-MacBook-Devices/dp/B0754QZX46/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1532713890&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=usb+c+splitter&dpPl=1&dpID=41RmDoYBbnL&ref=plSrch Something like this and no it wont fry your switch since it's not a dock.
Then, the best form for use Bluetooth and Wii U taiko controller is the plastic drumstick or/and this drumstick?
And for Pro Hori Controller the best form is Maibachi?
And for Arcade ISNOT maibachi for damage controller? (Then what the best for arcade?)
