I just have those EVA foam tiles. I have hardwood and am afraid of damaging it if I ever accidentally lose my grip on the handles. hasnt happened yet, still

I got this yogorilla mat and it works really well. The biggest thing is that I can just wipe the sweat up instead of it just dripping into the carpet and grossing me out.
Probably cheaper and easier to do what you did in terms of the shelf itself, but I picked up this one from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B084ZSP2RN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Solid wood, very sturdy and easy to mount. I just attached 4 of those clips to the bottom and its working out great, and it looks great too.
palm grip is a game changer, really helps me engage the back better
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B2K6NWVF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Also switching between these and handles means I don’t need to use gloves for heavy weight, as the palm grip distributes the pressure across the hand better
If you like the size of what you have, you can use a rug stabilizer. I have the one below (8' x 6') - top layer is kind of a textured plastic with some give to it, good traction without feeling bad on my feet (usually workout barefoot) while seeming very durable. After 90 days it's basically brand new using tonal 3-5 days per week. I have it over carpet and it just barely slides around where I have to slightly reposition it maybe an inch on one side once a week or so. I got it off the rec of someone on here before my tonal came - haven't used any of the stuff it came with. It also looks like the price has gone up (or I got it on a much better sale) though...
OK, if you want to get going really quick I found this that has the connection & 1 day shipping. Just but this and the handle above and you should be good to go without to o much downtime.
I am not recommending this set, but using this as an example of what most would be like, you would use a carabiner to connect the T-link to the accessory.
You don't need expensive airpods for Tonal. And I wouldn't recommend them because they would need to be paired every time.
Cheap bluetooth headphones are incredibly better-quality than they were years ago. Any highly-rated pair on Amazon is going to be fine. My "Mpow" ones from years ago are still going strong but don't seem to be on there, but something like these look fine: https://www.amazon.com/Headphones-Otium-Waterproof-Sweatproof-Cancelling/dp/B018APC4LE
The sound quality is perfectly decent, they hold charge forever, they're cheap enough that you don't mind being rough with them, and what I REALLY love is that they automatically switch between my tonal and my Peloton (as long as one is asleep while the other is active).
And a couple of small Tonal-specific upgrades:
The speaker quality on the Tonal is "fine", but I have this bluetooth speaker set up on top of the Tonal. Seems like a small thing, but it makes the voice of the instructor sound like they're actually in the room. Helps if you also want to crank the background music as well.
Also, the dangling black extension cord was driving me nuts, so I swapped it for a dangling white extension cord instead.
I got these and really like them. I never swap the t-lock so I don’t have to worry about removing them. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0866GX8HV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

These attachments looks great but a couple people here have mentioned a foot switch to turn off and on the weights?? sounds great

Far more important to me are lifting straps. On back day, my grips strength gives out way before my back muscles do.

I have this one in black. It's thick and heavy, and stays in place very well on my wood floor. I mostly work out barefoot, but I have worn socks also and have had no issues with the bench or my feet slipping. I don't remember much of an odor when I first got it, and there is definitely no odor issue now.

Hmm I've only set it up once so far on the Tonal but didn't experience any issue. On my carabiner, the T-clip is on the top part of the carabiner and the bar opening is on the bottom.
I know there's a huge variety of carabiner sizes as well but I'm not sure if there are standard sizes. Here are the ones I bought: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Q3S8ZHX
Thanks! I did the intro program, a shorter 15min intermediate program for shoulders/back, and a few free lifts of exercises I was curious about. I'm pretty damn sore just from that at this point lol. I think it'll be a huge improvement in fitness compared to what I was doing before with just dumbbells (and safer).
For the mats, they are just the Amazon basic exercise mat pieces (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0719BBFP2) which are 24 x 24 x 0.5 inches. Cheap way to get a padded flooring and work great. I've been using them the past 2 yrs with no issue in my mini gym of 10 ft x 10ft. It's just the foam squares but I like it because it made it much easier to cut around the odd corners of the room. Cheers!
Thanks! I got them on Amazon! T Locks
Shelves are from Amazon too. Floating Shelves
I've been here before and always found it helpful to stretch your arms frequently and use a therapy ball (see link below). Your muscle naturally contract while resting, so being sure to extend them often, especially when your sore, is important.
Also, I'm starting week 4 of Divide and Conquer and it's legit my favorite program thus far. Planning to run it back again before trying Four Weeks to Fat Loss with Coach Jackson.

Tonal recommends this specific receptacle:
I see the price on that is pretty volatile on Amazon (I paid $22 last week and today it’s $45). So here is the same receptacle but is tamper proof if you have kids, and is the normal $23. It’s available at Home Depot or Amazon:

A little pricey but I'm happy with the quality and the size.
that's really tight on the left. i'm surprised tonal approved that location. won't hinder too much tho, you'll just have to do most of the rotational ones with the right arm. why didn't you mount on the left wall?

too late to completely hide the cables, that needs an electrician. and needed to have been done prior to install. you'll have to use a cable raceway like this...
There was a similar question thread and i saw this recommended. Haven’t tried this one cause i have the bodylastics one

And some of my clothes stopped fitting after I put on 15lbs of muscle

This sounds like classic golfer’s elbow. It’s common for people who work out a lot, too. There are straps that can help. Using ice cups can help as well.

It works good for curls and skull crushers. You need to buy tonal t-locks and carbiners. The ez curl bar is the only extra accessory I use.
I use a brute belt for goblet squats. It makes it much easier to do them rather than feeling like the handlebia going to explode in your hand.
This is the one that I got: Brute Belt
I also got an anchor plate, which allows me to use both of the arms with the brute belt so I'm not maxxed out at 100 pounds.
Finally, I got a v-bar, which turned upside down, makes it easier to do reverse goblet squats.
The following EZ curl bar is the only attachment that I use. I have other attachments as I had a home gym before Tonal. But the EZ curl bar is the only additional attachment that I use.

I installed those little square foam tiles I got off Amazon and made an 8x10 “floor” in front.
I highly suggest against what anyone else says here and do not workout on carpet. Not only will you sweat all over it, but you will not want to do burpees and stretching on it at risk of getting rug burn.
I actually just got a damage claim form from XPO this morning so apparently Tonal contacted them. I guess it makes sense that they want XPO to pay for the damages instead of paying it themselves. Here's my stud finder: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0195K8OT4
For comfort, I found this bar helps relieve wrist pressure (using with the T-clips from Tonal)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07V6Z3171
There are also pads to make front squats more comfortable.
But Tonal is definitely hard. The algorithm keeps you honest and there is no coasting with these workouts. With free weights, I'd get stuck in a rut doing the same weights, but Tonal is always pushing me to my limit which is both good (results) and bad (challenging workouts).

I have these behind my gaming desk and used glue to attach them, which was overkill. For behind the tonal I just used double sided tape which worked great. I got this role and cut it down to size.

The rope it comes with is painful to handle on certain exercises at high weights.
I use this for curls.

A cheaper alternative if you want to have multiple custom bars is to use heavy-duty cable ties + carabiners. I ordered a pack of 250-lb capacity zip ties for $15: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NQ1B5B4/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o05\_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If you want a cheap and easy way, you could just tie the carabiners on with karate belt loops.
If you want to get something a little more fancy, clean, and reliable, you could get a pair of chain collars and hook the carabiners to those. Something like:

Totally agree. The first set of these were borderline painful with how the bar sat on my arms. I almost subbed the movement out of the workout (which you can do if you decide they are not for you). I kept at it and used a towel as padding and that helped. The more I did the movement, the easier it got. I am able to do them without a towel now and since then, I bought a curl bar on Amazon (You'll also need to buy the extra t-locks from Tonal and carabiners) I use instead because it is padded and I feel it is more stable on my arms because of the shape (doesn't want to roll).
Curl bar I bought.

You need 2 bluetooth receivers like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016NUTG5K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_QCVW5QQTYZCGV9G1G96Q?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Pair one with the Tonal and the other with your phone. Then connect both of their outputs to an audio stereo mixer like: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00102ZN40?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Finally, connect the mixer's output to an amplified speaker or your AV receiver system.
One note worth considering is that the bluetooth receiver I listed above tends to auto re-connect to a paired device. So, when you disconnect your phone from the bt receiver it automatically reconnects to it. I dont mind this for my Tonal but hate it with my phone. You could just unplug the receiver's power supply when not in use but I find that tedious and a non elegant solution.
My Tonal uses the bt receiver above but I use a different one for my phone; one that does not auto connect.
My husband and I got American Floor Mats 3/8 inch rubber tiles (24”x24”). I'm using a garmin heart rate monitor that is working fine with Tonal. I had a little trouble pairing it at first, but turning off all other bluetooth devices in the same room first did the trick. Like /u/GabeRealMedina mentioned, there are two benefits - a real time heart rate counter shows up on the screen during workouts, and there is a report when you are done that shows your heart rate over time during the workout.

I suggest getting Jackson's (one of the coaches) book as he discusses metabolic resistance training, which will give you insights into getting leaner using short rests. Like I said, it depends on your goals, and cardiovascular health is important, but many people are unwittingly undermining their strength/hypertrophy goals with long duration steady state cardio after their workouts. It might make sense to get a Peloton anyway, since it is much more engaging and less impacting than jogging, but you could see first if the Tonal alone meets your needs. On the other hand, you might really enjoy the Peloton rides, and they do have appropriate shorter duration HIIT rides. Lastly, lower calorie intake and intermittent fasting would be the most effective way to get to your lean goals, vs. extra cardio workouts, and he discusses that in the book too: https://www.amazon.com/Secrets-Chiseled-Abs-Step-Step-ebook/dp/B07PPK4MSW/
