I'll do the refer a friend! send me your email.
As for a hub, how many ports does your air have? I used this on my 13"mBp with 2 ports. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074DRW84M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Some kind of battery pack with an AC outlet could work. Need to make sure the watts is enough ( should be on ac adapter ) and will last long enough. For example ( probably don't buy this, do your homework, just an example ) https://www.amazon.com/Powkey-Portable-42000Mah-External-Smartphones/dp/B0713XJBG2
Yep, I have the CalDigit TS3+. Both the Apple and Startech TS3>TS2 adapter worked.
Note that I get a little digital noise through my HS8 monitors, about 2 dB. Seems like video noise, I have an MSI 1660 GeForce. When I plugged in the TS4 cable that came with the TS4 I tested, I noticed a reduction in the noise. This thread is reminding me to go buy a TS4, since I returned the TS4+ hub. The TS4 wire is thicker and seems better shielded.
WuTang is for everyone!
>Thanks for this. My Apollo Twin wasn't being recognized by my new MacBook Pro M1Max. It came pre-loaded with Monterey. I did all the steps UA recommended on their site but my Apollo just wasn't being recognized. I simply switched the adapter I had originally purchased: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B072KRL6TH/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o01\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks for the confirmation that it was a cable/adapter swap fix. That did the trick! :)
It's a little unclear exactly how you're connecting things, but assuming your macbook has 2 x USB-C side by side, you're better off having a hub that needs only 1 port and accepts power and then have your tb2 to 3 adaptor running of the other port. The side-by-side USB C hubs are nice but I think that's where you're losing power out to the Apollo

This won't be very satisfying given the cost of the device. The only decent solution I found was to buy Rogue Amoeba's Loopback: https://rogueamoeba.com/loopback/
I used it to create a virtual device that only used the mic inputs, and set that to my input device for Zoom. It has worked like a charm so far. I've noticed that it is generally installed when UA does office hours streams in YouTube with people as well, so I think this might be the best solution to the problem.

I was going to buy the OWC one, but it wasn't available at the time so went with Anker and it has been working flawlessly.
Go BIG SUR! I had nightmare problems with UAD until I did. It was CRASHING my brand new maxed-out MBP everyday so much that I returned what I now think was a perfectly good MBP to Apple. MBPs (almost) never crash. But with UAD it was crashing like an early 90s PC. When I updated to Big Sur, I didn't install NordVPN again and everything's been good. So it could have been either (or both). The reason I mentioned Nord before is that when I later reinstalled it, my UAD software couldn't find my Apollo. But Big Sur stopped my system crashing with UAD. Or something did.
Do both.
I'd also try uninstalling any VPN or other system-wide software. (And rebooting and trying your install again.) UAD is very sensitive and can feel bullied by such things. I don't seem to be able to run NordVPN on the same laptop as UAD.
I'd be curious to know if that helps.
If you have the rack Axe-Fx III or a model that has a SPDIF out, you could use this to connect it digitally to the Twin and then use the other two inputs for your vocal mic etc.

Yeah I just don't get the point in the recess - given this Audio should at least provide a cable.
For others - I bought this and it works fine..
Okay, this makes sense. My problem is that I'm using a Win10 desktop without TB3 ports. I do have a VisualLink port on my GPU, but it was throwing a bunch of errors when I tried my TB2 + TB2 to TB3 adapter. Can I use something like this to achieve a connection? If not, what are my options without a TB3 port?
Yea i would deff recommend hopping up to an i7 or ryzen 7 from the i5. The new AMD cpus look awesome - even last years AMD cpu's are great too. Maybe the new release would lower the price of last years.
In terms of your current CPU - since it's a few generations back, it might be tough to find a new mobo w/tb3. Searching this gigabyte board turned up a whole lot of nothing on amazon z270 gigabyte
Also be advised - thunderbolt on windows is a PAIN IN THE ASS to get set up. But it does work, just takes some tinkering
