The fact that this is even something that you are considering... speaks to the BULLSHYT that is working & living in America. You are preparing to birth a WHOLE ASS BABY, and planning to take NO leave?! GIRL. What?
Stickers & plain paper, Crayola’s mess free color wonder, play doh! I’ll set up different free play scenarios- like little people on his mat or then all of his trucks, etc. we go outside and I take my work out there. Mega blocks and Duplos. Another great thing is this water mat from Amazon. It’s great! Fill up the “markers” with water and they only work on the mat ;). It’s hard as hell, and we are also relaxed on the tv.
A little off base for the OP but seeing your post about potty training and I had to share this tip that worked for us: a travel potty seat that goes on your regular toilet This has been life saving for us because I have never had to clean a toddler potty. We got a stool which we needed anyway and put it next to the potty. Hope this reduces one tiny bit of cleaning for you!
I love it. I found it on Amazon and it was like $15 I think? But it makes me not look like complete garbage on my conference calls! I agree with another poster that it sounds like the “timeout” is less of a punishment / teaching method and more of a way for your husband to keep your kid safe while he gets a break. He seems frustrated, and he needs to put the kid in a safe space while he calms down and gets into the right headspace again. I would encourage you to talk to your husband about how he’s feeling and if he’s burnt out. Maybe full-time childcare is not an option, but hiring a part-time nanny/babysitter to give your husband a break in the afternoons a few days a week could be a good compromise.
As for the chewing thing, they have some sensory chew tubes that might help wean your LO off of the cables and onto things that he is allowed to chew. My LO’s really into chewing on straws, so I keep some bendy ones around. I knew a lot of kids who chewed on pen caps and hoodie strings, so maybe those are some alternatives that may satisfy his oral fixation.
I got this one for a recent work trip and I was thrilled with it! Holds a ton, the top zips shut, and it has good organizarion inside. It feels really durable too.
The target dollar section has a pack of 2 stick on sliders in really cute designs.
Here’s the basic Amazon version. black camera cover sliders
Braids, detangling/conditioner spray, and a tangle teaser brush! The only thing that works on my daughter’s fine, curly hair! Gets all the knots out and doesn’t pull.

This. Post on your local neighborhood FB page, nextdoor.com - look for responsible high school kids, college kids (a lot of them are home right now!), try posting in nanny groups, etc.
Those plastic reusable cereal boxes I've seen similar at Ross for much cheaper) with a lid that flips open... put a liner in it if you have "wet messy" kids.
I have anxiety and take meds. When I was working from home with my two year old home during the pandemic, my mental health was at an all time low. Like scary low. But I’m doing better now, thank God!
Anyway, I heard about this book called Mom Brain: Proven Strategies to Fight the Anxiety, Guilt, and Overwhelming Emotions of Motherhood— and Relax into Your New Self and you should read it with me!
I actually just heard from an author who wrote a book about this, Fair Play.
I dig that you're partners are all so willing to help. Agreed that it's been socialized into us as girls as it's OUR JOB - on top of everything else.
I don’t know if you have a tiktok (bear with me I know!) but a user there that goes by domesticblisters has a whole series on harm reduction in care tasks that I really appreciate. She also has a book “How to Keep House While Drowning” that helped me when I was in the thick of some pretty severe baby blues. Sometimes it’s enough just to make it though a rough patch.
I got my roll at Walmart as this was all beginning and I knew we would be home. Here is a link on amazon: Con-Tact Brand Shelf Liner and Privacy Film, Clear Cover Self-Adhesive Semi-Transparent Liner, 18'' x 20', Clear Matte https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00R8AWBJI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_knrLEbVS0GW46

I have a “car trash bin” that hooks in different places. Mine sits behind the center console. It holds a bag if you choose to use it and I just empty it when it’s full. The opening up top is rubbery and large enough to push something all the way through. It also has these mesh pockets around it to store other stuff if you like.

I have this and take it on all outings and for 2 very long international flights in 2019 with my daughter:
Yeah that's a long break, so cut yourself some slack for getting back into the groove of things.
I think once you accomplish a deliverable, you'll be able to get your confidence back. But if you have this constant fear of being fired, you won't be able to get anything done. Instead, accept that you have a lot of value because you got rehired, and it'll take you a while to get to know people.
Is there any reason you can't schedule 1-1 meetings with your colleagues and say you want to get to know them as you are new on the team? I think people will appreciate how you are coming at it from a position of strength if you do that.
There's this book called The First 90 Days that i recommend to anyone who is starting a new job. I highly suggest you read that book and make a plan for how you're going to be impactful. https://www.amazon.com/First-90-Days-Strategies-Expanded/dp/1422188612/

I use this bag for my Spectra S1, extra bottles, pumping bags, hand sanitizer and extra personal stuff!
This is what my husband now has, and he likes it a lot. I am using his old desk and am fairly indifferent toward my setup.
Waffles, scrambled eggs/omelets, goat cheese quesadillas, and black bean burgers (Cook’s Illustrated recipe).
We usually make our 2 main dinners during the weekend so we just have to reheat leftovers during the week. We have a different edition of this magazine and really like it: https://www.amazon.com/30-Minute-Suppers-Editors-Americas-Kitchen-ebook/dp/B0050KT62I
Goat cheese quesadillas - 1 cup or 1 can corn, 1 can black beans drained, 1 chopped bell pepper, 4 oz. goat cheese, and some Monterey Jack (I don’t measure but probably 2 cups shredded). Toss it all together, put it in a tortilla, and warm it up.
>Weaning at night was VERY important for my mental health, sleep plays a huge role.
I wholeheartedly recommend "No Cry Sleep Solution" -- it is a collection of weaning ideas and we didn't have the heart for 'cry it out.' DD was literally getting up every other hour to nurse through the night. I would go to bed at 6pm to wake at 6am and be able to think at work with all the broken sleep.
My daughter is the same way. It’s super hard to get her down. She’s always been a bad sleeper. I use sleepberry melatonin for kids. It’s by joy spring. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08158MT7G/ref=cm_sw_r_oth_api_i_RXmjFbNWZAAVE
This is the link. If it doesn’t work then try to look it up on amazon. We’ve pretty much tried everything, and it’s the only one that has helped at all. It’s safe on kids 2 and older.

Baby food makers are a huge waste of money 😂.
This thing was super helpful because we could steam any veggie and then mash it so that it wouldn’t be liquid purée - it still had some texture.
Also, there’s no shame in store-bought purées when you start out! I think you’ll find it easier as you go to just cut your own food in the appropriate manner to give to baby to try.
Good luck!
Would a color touch up shampoo/ conditioner help? When I had red hair the red shampoo helped extend the color life. I've seen brunette shampoo and that seems like it may help.
My kid figured those out so quickly too. We switched to these. You do have to stick the 3M pad on the cabinet but it comes off with goo gone eventually.
I've had this one since may 2021, the 55"*28". I've got two monitors, a laptop, and a keyboard+mouse and everything fits well. The downsides which I can totally live with, are 1) that the table top comes in two pieces so there's a seam going hotdog-lengthwise. It's not a problem for me bc the monitors sit on the far side of the seam and the keyboard and mouse sit on the near side, and 2) one of the corners came a bit damaged from delivery, my options were to return the entire package and get a replacement OR get a $40 credit. I took the credit. It does not cause any functional issues so I'm just rolling with it, and may one day replace the table top with something else
I have this one from amazon (in the shorter length), but this option looks like it'd fit two monitors without issue. It was super easy to put together, I just added a keyboard tray and an anti fatigue mat to my set up and it's worked out great!

We have this Shark vacuum and a Roomba. I can’t stand the Roomba, but the Shark is amazing. I empty the canister probably once a week and clean the filter/rolls/etc. once a month. It doesn’t take long to do and we haven’t had any issues.
Blue Sky weekly/monthly desk size, there's more designs and they also make a 5x8 if you like to keep it in your purse. Weeks start on Mondays which is a must for me.
Easy to put up & reasonably priced sunshade Magnelex Windshield Sun Shade for... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074DLRSPC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Then you could maybe get some of the stick on ones for the side windows or just use the Elvie.
I have removable sunshades for my car that are very cheap but I suppose someone could still see through your window: https://www.amazon.com/Enovoe-Car-Window-Shade-Protection/dp/B00X2TUW1I/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=14U4JWU27T95L&keywords=car+sunshades&qid=1664586171&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI3LjQ2IiwicXNhIjoiNi45NyIsInFzcCI6IjYuMjcifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=car+sunsha%2Cap...
I personally used to sit in my backseat and out my “car blanket” in the headrests of the passenger and drivers seat so that no one could see back there, watch some Netflix on my phone, and pump. When I was done clean up was easier too bc I used the car seat cup holders.
You can use a front window shade, car window "socks": e.g. https://www.amazon.com/Qualizzi-42-46in-Camping-Elasticized-Breathable/dp/B07HYXZYMN, and then a nursing cover to feel extra secure. That's what I did when I pumped in the car when parked.
We have a couple sets of these Rubbermaid LunchBlox containers that worked great for us in grade school. They fit in most standard sized lunch boxes, and I think there are other configurations for if you have taller lunchboxes. My 13yo needs more food than they hold now but the 10yo still uses them. They're not liquid-proof seals but have been fine for meats, veggies, fruits, etc.
I used this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KNW2G5C/ which is no longer available but there are others that are similar. Any small soft side cooler is fine, especially with Kiinde bags because they are compact. 8 oz water bottles make great icepacks.
I pumped for a little under 4 years total with 2 kids (several years apart). I nursed too but my kids were poor transferers so I pumped around town and on family trips.
Two more:
set up the pump parts and put each set into a ziploc bag before the trip. You don't want to be washing parts on planes or public bathrooms. I also put a dry baby washcloth in each to dry off after pumping.
if it's going to be dark (night flights/car rides), bring a small flash light. Misaligned flange on nipple = ouchies.
I often have "spa nights" for myself at home after the kid goes to bed. I get a box of wine, watch a good TV show or something, do a bikini wax (this brand is the only one I've found that works https://www.amazon.com/Gigi-Brazilian-Body-Ounce-414ml/dp/B00GMP3QCQ/ you need the wax pot and some sticks, too), paint my nails, color my hair, whatever.
Sometimes my husband comes in though, which is awkward if I'm in the middle of waxing my downstairs business. I just yell at him "I AM WAXING MY DOWNSTAIRS BUSINESS" and throw a wooden applicator at him, which usually gets him to shut the door.
Ahhh, relaxation spa nights!
This case really has me shook. I live in San Diego and I remember when Chelsea King went missing and was later found murdered. I know it may not be much but on Amazon I bought this Fingerless glove with pepper spray . I always wear it just in case I’m confronted by an animal or human and need the protection an a little extra time to get away.
Definitely cross-post to r/ParentalLeaveAdvocacy
But I'm using this crowdsourced doc to hopefully influence our leadership in a better direction. Maybe it would be helpful for you:
I got this one but I there may be better ones. This one works well once you figure out the controls but the directions were pretty unclear.
Oh hunny I want to give you a hug, and kick your husband in the ass. It's so hard and frustrating that these things fall on US, and they'll leave it in our laps. SOOOOO frustrating!!
Anyway a non-SO suggestion is to get a tablet holder in the car, and put a show on to keep those kids awake. I got a fabric one that you slide a phone or tablet in, since a lot of them don't look that sturdy in case of a collision, but yeah it works great. We kept our older kid rear facing super long because I wanted both kids facing the same way so we could use it. It keeps them awake, so we use it to avoid car naps, and I LOVE IT. It's also great for road trips too. I keep some downloaded netflix shows on my phone, and they don't seem to mind they are always the same.
A SO suggestion, wake him up every time you are dealing with a kid. Constantly talk about how worn out you are, how unfair it all is, and stay on his ass until he steps up. He is getting away with poor behavior at your expense, and needs some consequences. It's so fucking unfair that we have to BE the consequence, drag them kicking and screaming to be a real partner and father, but you do what you have to do.
I also recommend therapy, though I know when you're this worn out the thought of finding a therapist, finding the time, and dragging your SO to therapy is just another mental load task and makes you want to cry, but it really has helped us.
HUGS!
I purchased a thermos (linked below) that I would transfer the milk in. My childcare provider had her own bottles and would fill up as needed. I did the pitcher method, using the muchkin formula pitcher, and then would send what I pumped that day, plus some from my freezer stash if I needed extra.

I drive around all day for work too. I use an Elvie Stride and bought another set of pump parts so I wouldn’t have to clean anything during the day. The extra parts are expensive but it’s been worth it for me not to deal with the cleaning.

Not exactly a gadget, but this spring I bought a MacBook Pro. I needed a new laptop, and since I'm using it for podcasting, I went with a Mac. Its the first time I've had a Mac. I love it. It was worth every penny. One of the best things about it is that it is so easy to print with it. My former laptop, a Surface, was very unreliable in connecting to our printer. The Mac works Every. Single. Time.
I also recently got a fitbit inspire 2. I like that it is smaller than my old Samsung watch.

I've used this one for both my kids. It attaches to a nursing bra, so you don't have to take your entire bra off and switch to something different. I tried a few and this has been my favorite.
Christ, I don't even know where to start with this bullshit. Highly recommend reading this book and educating yourself about how different assistance programs work. (Spoiler alert: It's not fun and games being on government assistance.)

We used this Fisher Price booster seat on the floor until our kid was old enough to eat at his own table. The straps are removable for easy cleaning, and the plastic wipes down super easily. When he brought home norovirus from daycare, we just soaked the entire chair with his plastic toys in bleach water in the bath tub.
We found some syringes on Amazon that were a good interim option: https://www.amazon.com/Dispenser-Utensils-Pacifier-Medicine-Suitable/dp/B094NRJMKY She eventually started taking a bottle too, but she still woke up to drink milk at night for a while since she wasn’t drinking a lot at daycare. It will pass though.
I got these on Amazon for postpartum. One day I forgot to wear a pad and didn’t realize for a few hours. No leakage! And mega comfortable! They don’t actually absorb, just don’t let anything out (I thought I could just free bleed. My search for pad period panties continues)
No, usually legs and thighs. I buy the big packages when they are on sale and freezer package them in bags with the amount that is enough for our family for one meal. You can throw them in the instant pot still frozen together. I just season as much as i can. Love it! I had an electric adjustable desk in the office (that I haven't been to in 2 years), and recently got one at home as well. I am on calls/meetings a lot but am on camera/presenting (so I can't walk around during calls) and hate sitting all day long. Super impressed over here that you clean that large house by yourself with 3 kids under 4!
What happened with your house cleaner out of curiosity? Just so I can prepare if we ever go that route. Would you be open to going with a different cleaner in the future, or are you happy as is now?
As for mopping, I’ve been curious about this Bissel power mop and steam cleaner. I have a couple friends who say it’s super fast and a game changer with deep cleaning.
I have this CURMIO bag from Amazon. I love it! At the bottom, it fits my pump, pump wall charger, and a small cooler. At the top, it fits my flanges, burp cloth, a spare top, small pack of wipes, keys, phone and some granola bars. It fits water bottles on the sides. It also fits a laptop up to 15”. I carry my lunch in a separate lunch bag. I don’t deal with shoes but in your case, I would have spare shoes at the office.
I got this one: Goplus 2 in 1 Folding Treadmill
Unless the arms are up the max speed is 4 mph so it’s not like you’re going to get a vigorous workout in, but for walking in meetings it’s good
I swear by this backpack, I’ve been subway commuting on and off for the better part of ~10yrs and this is THE BEST. On any given day, it holds shoes, change of clothes, lunch, 2-3 accordion files, laptop, misc backpack sundries, room for a pump. It has a laptop sleeve and external insulated pouch, and the way the straps are set up it distributes the weight nicely to make it seem less heavy and keep your back cool. I went through a million backpacks from every brand you could thing of lol, pricey but durable and worth it
This bag is awrsome for lugging the pump, it has a separate side compartment for it and also still fits my computer

Do it! I don't have one, my work requires too much mouse precision (and I don't have that many zoom meetings), but my mom and sister have them, and they love them. They have these! They are quiet, and at least for them, doesn't seem to distract them.
If I didn't have so much mouse work, I'd get one in a heart beat.

Aha! I have a couple:

you remember slap bracelets? Now they have them for hair: https://www.amazon.com/Womens-Maker-French-Twist-K-Beauty/dp/B06XXKJRB2

French braid or crown of braids, the second takes more time, but it gets quicker and it freaking stays put
I have very long and thin hair down to my waist.
If I have a presentation or something, I wash the day before and I sleep with it in a French braid (loose so it doesn’t pull) to create texture which I brush out straight.
My secret weapon is that I then use colored dry shampoo to make my volume look more robust. I really don’t like this for dry shampoo, I like to think of it more as a hair make up product. I’ll put a little baobab on my ends to smooth it all out. 10/10 looks fancy as hell, but it’s not a maintenance process that keeps my hair nice.
I had similar concerns but got these no-show liners and have had no issues. I wear the liners with all types of shoes (pumps, ballet flats, etc) and they are my favorite - I’ve tried so many before. These ones don’t show but still stay-on and don’t slip off. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07VBX85NB/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_B6ZA119YYGR01Y2CRTB3
I LOVE my Bissel Icon Pet - it goes on sale every now and then and I bought it for i think under $250. It's GREAT. I currently own 4 vacuums and a rug washer. I use this more than any other vacuum i own. It makes clean up SO MUCH easier, especially in the summer when the sand from my kids sneakers gets everywhere. If he thinks the regular vacuum is fine, he can do it! I like that it's smaller and fits into smaller spaces. I am also more likely to do a quick zip of the halls and small messes rather than having to lug out the giant vacuum. I use it all over my hard floors all the time.
Do it. https://www.amazon.com/BISSELL-ICONpet-Cordless-Cleaner-22889/dp/B07V1JW4GF
Yes! I got this about a month ago and I love it. I use it every day for an hour or more. I can’t do deep work while walking (yet?), but can review documents, attend meetings, compose emails, etc.
The set up was kind of a pain, so if you wind up getting one and run into problems, DM me. I think I hit every possible obstacle when setting it up, so could help troubleshoot for sure 😂
We use a corded stick vacuum. I don't think the cord is as much an issue as having something that is light and easy to maneuver. It was really cheap on amazon.
We got this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NVR2NTT
I really like it.
Look I don’t have a ton of money, so maybe my answer will be a bit low class. But I work in a pretty formal office and my piece meal outfits always get compliments.
Pants: Chicos is my #1. Their pants are SO comfy and look awesome. I have several black pairs and a couple blue ones that I wear most of the time. Old Navy Chino pants are great for slightly more casual. They offer some patterns and colored pants that change seasonally.
Shirts: Amazon. Measure yourself and ignore sizes and you won’t go wrong. This one is my favorite and I have it in five colors: Dress Shirt
Jackets: Macys. Hands down the best deal. I bought one a month ago that’s buttery soft but formal. Evereve also has a black or grey shrug/jacket thing that I love.
Shoes and accessories I just keep my eyes peeled for clearance sales.
I just took a full Unisom at night, about half an hour before bed. It didn't completely stop the nausea and vomiting, but reduced it to manageable levels.
I highly recommend emesis bags like these: https://www.amazon.com/MP-Mozzpak-Vomit-Bags-Disposable/dp/B08C3Y8T5W They fold up relatively small, very sturdy, you can stick them in your bag, glove box, bathroom (you know, if you need to pee while you puke. Pregnancy and all...) bedside table. Also, they have a slick locking system where you fold the bag over afterwards to close it.
If you're feeling anxious about nausea during pregnancy, at least you can get some fancy emesis bags and have the Rolls Royce of puking experiences!
I didn't do a field-based job but I pumped in the car a lot to save time. Things that helped:
a hard-sided cooler and frozen water bottles in as ice packs. They stay cold for a long time, and are cheap and reuseable. A big enough cooler that fits pump parts in a ziploc or container is useful for reusing.
a nursing cover to pump on the way. I also wear nursing shirts and pumping bras. The Simple Wishes all-in-one (https://newmothernewbaby.com/simple-wishes-supermom-all-in-one-bra/) is amazing. It's padded unlike most other nursing/pumping bras.
a windshield and window cover set for when you want to pump and (say) eat lunch in the car.
use these wipes: https://www.amazon.com/Dr-Browns-Pacifier-Bottle-3-Piece/dp/B01NAYLOHB/
an Elvie is very nice (discreet and quiet) although I always got less with it than Spectra and I had low supply so I didn't use it much.
I recently tried some Rothy's points and Everlane day gloves. Both are pretty comfortable and versatile. However, they have no arch support and I have high arches. I've added some inserts (https://www.amazon.com/Dr-Scholls-Stylish-Hidden-Support/dp/B01M7VGJNY). They make a big difference and are fine for mostly sitting at a desk. I wouldn't recommend either shoe though if you're going to be on your feet all day and have high arches.
Marriages, generally, don't just end. They fade and wither, little by little, through superficially small, yet chronic issues like this one. So, the question is, do you care for the person and relationship enough to correct the course? Resentment is a strong beast, for which there is little Balm. Wishing you the best of luck and I hope you build the life you long for and deserve.
My kiddo is four and has been in several daycares and I have always sent her with “crib sheets” and have never had a complete. Eg: https://www.amazon.com/Peanutshell-Stars-Fitted-Sheet-Celestial/dp/B08RY6R1K9/
Ours was a mini crib sheet/pack and play sheet. I got a 3 pack off amazon

This worked for the infant room (mini crib) and currently in thr toddler room on a floor mat.
Try a different sippy cup? We weaned from bottles to the munchkin transitions cup that is much more bottle like but still more of a cup. Find a sippy cup to help bridge that gap, keep doing the transitioning to move from formula, and she'll get there :)
We’ve set boundaries with my in laws. It was a rough couple years but now it’s much better. They know they need to respect our boundaries or we won’t see them, so they stop trying to push them and just follow us.
But many times it doesn’t workout this way and people won’t respect your boundaries. I highly recommended reading the Boundaries Book.
There are ways to add toddler proofing to lever door knobs! I use these and they work great so far. We installed the one for my kid's door on the outside so that they don't have access to it while inside their room.

I opted for this over a gate because I wanted to have free access to the room during the day without having to remove/replace or open a swinging gate.
I also added one to the inside of the closet door so that it's not an option of play at 3am.
We transitioned my second early as well because he’s tall and was trying to climb out. He was 20 months when we transitioned him straight to a full bed (skipped toddler bed completely!) and it was easier than I expected at that age. We have a toddler monitor from Amazon that gives me great peace of mind because both our kids rooms are across the house from ours and I worried about hearing them get out of bed at night. It hangs in the doorknob and it alerts your phone if they move the door at all. It’s awesome!

So my son was terrible about getting out of bed and turning on his light. We got a light switch cover from lowes and a squishy night light on Amazon. Worked like a charm.

This isssss the fucking worst. My kids started prek in january and we all have literally been sick the entire time. Covid. 3 stomach bugs. colds. it's miserable. Bump up vitamins for EVERYONE. Wash your hands a lot. Made a sacrifice to satan. I don't know my dude. It sucks.
the good news is there was an article that said they will get it all in prek and less in kindergarten. So that's a plus!
For the runny nose and cough I really like Genexa for helping them.
It’s amazing. I love being able to hop on for a quick 30 minute ride that is super efficient given how busy my life is. When I was pregnant, it was my most consistent form of exercise- I was on my Peloton two days before labor.
After, I did postpartum core classes and low impact rides after. I bought this to get a pivot screen on my normal Bike- it works great: The Pivot for Peloton Bike... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08P54PHHH?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Seriously, I’m obsessed with it.

Best $110 USD I spent.

The length isn't horrible (not perfect either), and they have real pockets. I miss real dress pants though. I even tried some dickies and they were terrible! Right now I mostly wear leggings too. ugh!
This was the best pumping bra. So much more comfortable than the zip up bandeau types.
I found wearing a nursing cami blouses to be easier - I could take off my top and just clip on my Pump bra but still be fairly covered - i just a big scarf in my bag to wrap around my shoulders. I liked Loft for professional pieces that didn’t break the bank, especially for tops.
Thanks for your suggestion! Like these ?

My son LOVES it
I think a lot of kids are going through a violent phase at this age, my son’s going through it too and I see it in a lot of my mommy groups
I dunno if you have opportunities to work on it at home or if he only does it at daycare. But one thing that helped us was getting an inflatable punching bag.
Whenever he hits/kicks one of us or the dogs we say “don’t hit people, hit the punching bag”. He loves it, he runs over and punches it a bunch and gets all his pent up energy out.
And we tell him “don’t bite people, bite food” hahaha, I dunno why but these little mantras have seemed to help him a lot.
He’s super into Spider-Man and things in general that probably worsen the behavior 😅, but he’ll yell at the tv “don’t hit people Spider-Man!!! Hit the punching bag!!”

I like this work bag from amazon! There is pattern options but also solid colours too
Buy paper plates! And bowls! This is a season, keep looking for a dishwasher, but lighten the load at least a tiny bit!
We do grocery delivery almost exclusively. We have been ordering a lot more prepared meals or easy stuff like fresh ravioli so dinner is healthy/balanced enough but not such a hassle. We have gotten house cleaners but don’t do that regularly. We do have a robot vacuum that I try to run occasionally. We use a laundry sorter (like this Amazon one) so we can easily throw in a load without having to sort everything at once. I keep bathroom cleaning supplies in each bathroom so I can clean them when I have a moment.
This might sound unrelated, but we have started to do better about tidying up toys as part of my 2 year old daughter’s bedtime routine. So we give her some warnings that it’s getting close and then we sing the Cocomelon cleanup song and put toys away. She is at daycare during the day, and comes home and has dinner, so it’s only like an hour of toys. But having her help is hopefully teaching her how to do it, and it’s one less chore for me to do after she is in bed. Then we do bedtime snack and head upstairs. She also has the “chore” of putting her own play clothes and pajamas in her hamper. Just trying to keep her involved and set a foundation.
Thermos Foogo is a good insulated milk cup that doesn't typically leak. The Yeti cup is pretty popular too and tends not to leak. Both easy to clean. Either are not exactly cheap. But I have 6 thermos cups and they're all in great shape still.
Highly suggest a weighted straw cup similar to this. They’re leak proof so they require some suction to get the liquid out, very similar to a bottle. Helped us a lot with the transition!
You are right, it can be very difficult to get a federal job, and at least part of that is because the process itself is so opaque, and unique to the federal government. If you are serious about wanting a federal job, I recommend getting this book.

Love these labels. Wash well and easy to put on. I use sharpie on them.
Glad to hear you are enjoying your daycare! We adore ours and so does our kiddo. They're an amazing service that is absolutely essential and for the most part are run by fabulous people. I'd be lost without mine. Lord knows I've learned more from them on my motherhood journey than I ever have from my mom or MIL.
This workbook really helped calm my racing mind down. I recommend finding a therapist in your area to help you work through your feelings- most offer a sliding scale to make it affordable it that is a concern.
Not marriage counseling but will give you a new perspective on the emotional labor issue.
