WEN 3417 3-Speed Remote-Controlled Industrial-Strength Air Filtration System (556/702/1044 CFM)
It really helps to cut down on airborne wood dust particles. One of the best things I’ve bought for my shop so far.
Or you can get this type which is even cheaper and easier to set up.
Those magnetic strips from Harbor Freight work well for smaller files, chisels, screw drivers, etc.
I've got an old electrician tool pouch with the common tools need for quick electrical repairs. It's mounted on the wall on hooks. Pouches come in a variety of lengths, sizes, designs and lets you group tools that way.
Lots of people roll their own and end up with things that look like this https://www.amazon.com/Screwdriver-Organizer-Storages-Workshop-Workbench/dp/B08R9SDQ3L
Which is what I made. Then attached to my French cleats, but you can just mount to your wall. Building custom stuff out of 1/2 or 3/4 plywood is great. I use Baltic birch because it looks nice and the extra layers give good support for end grain screws.
Have fun!
I’m indecisive and was worried about replacing any object I put stickers on in the future, so I bought magnetic sheets, stuck the stickers to them, and cut them out. Now they can go on any metal surface in my shop and I can move them as needed.
These are the sheets I used: Craftopia Magnetic Adhesive Sheets | 8" x 10" | https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071L97W57/
They have one sticky side so you can even leave the backing on the sticker so you can peel it and stick it in the future if you decide to put it somewhere permanently.
Surprisingly, no. Everything is pretty secure, except the screwdrivers in the middle that tip to the side, but never fall off.
I did spring for the more expensive "extra thick" peg board hooks. They are sturdy and fit very snug in place. It makes all the difference compared to the smaller ones that you have to zip tie or clip onto the board.
I didn't want to deal with fumes, so I got this forced air heater and put it on a swivel. It works really well for my 2 car garage.
I have the butterfly Simple Human can for about 7 years now in my kitchen. It is loud. Squeaks every time it is opened. I just bought the Rubbermaid non-butterfly in a charcoal steel. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WHTZHKJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
For anyone interested, these are the lights. A bit harsh to look right at as there are no diffusers but we have 11’ ceilings so it’s not much of an issue.
Or a small propane heater like this
I have used both of these at different times in my workshop and both do a great job. the propane heats very fast and takes the chill off within 5-10 min., the oil heater works well over a longer time period.
It's Amazon, but I bought 2 packs of [these](Pack of 6) Barrina LED T5 Integrated Single Fixture, 4FT, 2200lm, 6500K (Super Bright White), 20W, Utility Shop Light, Ceiling and Under Cabinet Light, Corded Electric with Built-in ON/Off Switch https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01HBT3BVM/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_XZWW12SKDVS63RV1SGQ1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) for my garage. And there isn't a shadow to be seen.
How do you feel about your small parts organizers in the back left corner? If you like them, happen to remember who made them/where you got them? I just got this one from Akro-Mils and I'm not impressed with the quality, looking for something where the drawers feel sturdier.
Hi Pirateghost!
Thank you for your response back, do you think these adapters are sufficient? If not is there something in particular you would recommend?

Hi Cilad, thanks for the response back. I guess the problem is I don’t know what adapter I need to connect the 1/2 hose reel to my compressor, it looks like the compressor connection is a 3/8 quick adapter, length isn’t an issue it’s just the size of the hose and connections I need to make to everything else I have. I am thinking of purchasing these on Amazon, do you think this is what I need/ will they will suffice?

Would something like this work? I mean, the motor is in the airstream, so maybe not. Though maybe it'd work as an eductor, creating the bypass airflow that sucks the fumes out of the booth? I feel like I described that poorly. . .
Yes, the T'square is a nice tool to have around. I use this for more serious straight edge work:

I installed 6 of these https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0868DVRL7/ lights in my 20x15 workshop (two rows of 3) and the the space is super bright. There are some minor shadows, but a lot of light bounces off the white ceiling and helps spread the light.
i bought a bunch of these spring clamps:
Black Duck Brand 40 Metal Spring Grip Clamps Garage Closet Wall Organizer for Brooms, Mops, Rakes, Etc. (40 Pack) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K3STV4E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_478M06MD7T9S6C24HE1Z?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
use 2 per broom and hang them from the ceiling.
These are amazing for the price and honestly brighter than my shop lights that were $50 each. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088RG9D39/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_ZJWN8977216DSMQ9JZW9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Some water based polyurethane, foam brushes, and sandpaper.
Badass big deep desk for under $500 and only takes 6 wood screws to assemble.
Thanks! I oddly enough don't have an actual photo of the old setup, it was basically and counter height plywood top and a few shelves above. Shealth clips
I used this switch to remote my dust collector - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CTL3TG6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share - I got a 220v socket and non-molded cable from the hardware store, designed and 3d printed an enclosure, wired it all up and works great. Just keep in mind its best to keep the system unplugged as the switch does have 120vac hot to one side constantly, so could be an energy vampire.
Thanks! I'll try to make it a habit of keeping it clean. The hanging unit is a small air filtration unit by WEN - here is the link: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00LPD9BDI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_C8DE9AQAJA709NT9E4TZ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 It works great! Folks can say all they want about the Chinese off tool brands, but I have zero complaints. I have a WEN jointer still in the box I will be setting up too.
The blue square is just in a convenient spot to grab for now until I start mounting more hangers to the walls.
This! Lighting is definitely a fast follow project. I’ve been looking at something like these 6000 lumen 6000K dalylight. Thinking of throwing one in the back and one up front
These are used to scrub odors from cannabis grow operations. While the filter isn't technically rated for HC/VOC's It most certainly will filter them. These canisters have more activated charcoal than any VOC rated home filtration system. Industrial versions essentially just use either larger canisters like this or an array of them.
I won't bet my life on my new setup by releasing VOC's indoors i wouldn't normally but it's definitely a good addition for better indoor air quality.
Right now, I use 100W LED bulbs. No, not 100W equivalent, actual 100W. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0852WQ8JP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_..ErFbBE1GH04
Hi! It’s not a custom solution, it’s actually made by PSI and I got it from amazon here. You can either use it as a floor mount or ceiling mount as I did. I don’t love it. Suction doesn’t seem great but I’m sharing a 2HP dust collector for under the saw and on top. When hanging from the ceiling I can get it out of the way for the most part when cutting large stock. Seems like there are some more polished solutions out there but this was cheap and gave me options. The dust collector goes to a splitter (4”) that has one hose go to saw body and the other goes to the overarm system.
I will gladly tell you about the batteries because I can’t say enough positive things about them. I bought them off of amazon because my batteries were old and not holding much of a charge. I only have to charge them once every couple weeks under personal use. I redid a 16x16 deck with one charge. Here’s a link to them:

2 batteries for $67 can’t be beat imo
Some are nails, most are screws. I do a lot of odd jobs for people and I keep the left over materials.
Canada here too -- I bought these
I just went crazy and mounted all 10 to my ceiling, and it's beautiful. Extremely bright for my single car garage; it's like daylight.
IMO, there's "spending more for quality" and then there's "spending too much". The next step up is basically buying single units from "reputable" brands for roughly 10x the cost. Yes, one of the fixtures I got had a faulty solder joint (fixed up right quick) and there was a faulty switch cable included, but considering they refunded me 50% for that, so I paid half of list, it was worth the effort dealing with it. Reliable as anything now, and hardwired to a switched junction box :)
