The generally opinion is that Mumble has better quality and lower latency than Ventrilo something which I have personally observed. I don't know about Skpye but I dislike how it doesn't have PTT (Push To Talk).
A 15 slot server is about $20 a year.
You can check out something like C3 which is free if you want to try a VoIP program long term without paying, also many hosts (Mumble or Ventrilo) offer week long trials or demo servers.

Looking at the source code of http://vi-vox.com/ you can see that it's a copy of http://www.downloadc3.com/

The website is also missing the registry form, which the original one has, but the JavaScript code wasn't removed.
The Mac client for RaidCall is certainly inferior to the Windows client for RaidCall. Most notably:
It's not supported, so there's no guarantee there will be a RaidCall-for-Mac client in, say, eight months or whatever.
Unlike the Windows version, the Mac RaidCall version doesn't retain archives of PM or Members Chat transcripts.
Support for clickable links on the Mac version is limited.
Comparing the Mac versions of RaidCall and C3, though, is a much more subjective question. And here, network effects become relevant: for Mac users, any complaints over the software might be trumped by the fact that all your friends are using that service. In other words, a Mac user might prefer the C3 client to RaidCall's (or vice versa), but find that preference irrelevant if everyone else is using the other service.
Regarding C3: since the /r/Recordings livestream used it regularly, several life-cycles in the software universe have passed. By now, it may well be a much better, more stable client now. And C3 does have one advantage over some competing services: it's free. If memory serves, C3's audio quality is better than RaidCall's, but other services (e.g., TeamSpeak) might have even better audio fidelity.
>It's no longer in beta status, as far as I can see.
From C3's homepage:
>BETA VERSION 0.6.8
Anyway, I have no preference concerning what you all end up choosing. That said, I thought I'd share some of our experience so you might benefit from our experience. Hope this helps!
There's a new free one called C3 that's... well, it's clunky. But it's in beta, so it should improve. And it's free. I haven't gotten to play around with it much but it's something to look into.
for my Guild I chose Guildportal.com they have a very simple interface to build and manage the site, but there are a lot more Guild hosting sites out there.
Also if you are in a budget and are looking for Voice chat I can recomend <strong>C3</strong>, its free with unlimited slots and works great.
good luck and I'll see you in game!
do you guys have a guild website? some hosting services (like Guildportal) have an eMail to members feature, it may not be in game but it helps.
Also voice chats like C3 (which is FREE) offer Offer the same feature and a mesage that the service reads when people log in to it.
Hope this helps, good luck and I'll see you in game!
Blackgate has a free PvE voice chat server using C3 (download here).
Channel name is: Blackgate PvE it has NO PASSWORD just join in and make friends, please spread the word.
Good luck and I'll see you in game.
Here's the link for C3 if you all want to try it: http://www.downloadc3.com/ you can personalize skins, text, etc. Was as easy to use as Xbox Live chat, and I've never had an issue. I'm down to use whatever too though, it was just a curious thought as I was running around the other day.
Organize what? Voice comm?
Here's a couple of free ones
As for forming a group, you might be able to check map chat near the instance. LFG should still work, probably other similar guilds in the same boat as you
I got invited randomly to a lobby full of supremes and they told me they wanted me to download "team talker" and sent me this link http://team-talker.net/ , which seems like a rip off of the c3 client website http://www.downloadc3.com/ watch out for that. I'm assuming its a key logger or something like that.
gw2community is for the EU community.
There is also GW2 Public a channel using the C3 voip Program. It has unlimited channels and sub channels for every zone, dungeon, and dragon.
I recomend using the lagacy version as it tends to be more stable.
keep in mind, most servers have their own TS or mumble servers so is not used a lot, however I have used it with pugs several times and it works great.
Good luck and I'll see you in game
There has always been a GW2Public channel using C3, the same voip that EVE online Everquest, World of tanks and DC universe use with an unlimited player cap. it even has sub-channels for dungeons and world events. unfortunatly not many people know about it and since the server is completly free there is no risk of it ever shutting down (it hasn't in 2 years) Players can make their own subchannels and much more.
Channel: GW2 Public
EDIT: Upvoted because any voip that works is better than no Voip at all
I would recomend C3 guild chat as it is free and you can get an unlimited slot voice chat server that is fully customisable ... Check here you can even call in from your phone 0.0
May I recomend setting up a free VoIP with C3 for this [LFG] guild so that it will assist players in coordinating their efforts.
here is the link
Like i said It is free and very easy to set up, unlike other free VoIP services.
Good Luck, and I'll see you in game.
Well there are several Reddit platoons on Battlelog AFAIK, which would be good for meeting up with other to chat and play with, and I am a member of one such platoon, and for that platoon we use a voice program called C3 and have a Channel on it, however it's usually pretty dead, but I try to jump in it whenever I'm online. The password to the server is lamepenguin. I know this isn't really what you're looking for, but this could still be of use to you. Also, I've already run through co-op tons of times, but I'd be glad to help you out with that.
Also, I have a friend that swears by using C3, which is some supposedly new and coming voice client?
He says the benefit is there is no need to rent servers, no limit to people in a room, and ability to create subchannels on the fly. The quality is also comparable to / better than skype.
and he gave me this link xD

Dunno, maybe this is pretty good? They claim its also designed for gaming so that seems like a plus!
Vent, Teamspeak and Mumble are all good communicators. I would also add C3 to that list. It's still in beta, but it also offers free channels for everyone (at least for now).
c3 is better than ventrilo... check it out
http://www.downloadc3.com/guilds-and-clans/
make customized log in accounts and rooms.. u can boot out spammers easily, iono just saying if you dont want to pay for a vent server
