I'm not a fan of facebook BUT the app I DO use is the Facebook 'Local' app. It will even recommend events just for you (like being a Philly visitor).
Please prove me wrong that it's the best all-events app.
The reality is: most event hosts put their event on facebook and the data is very structured and easy to navigate unlike: uwishunu, thephillycalendar, Philly.com, visitphilly etc...

City Pages' event calendar is usually what I use to look for events but Facebook just launched/relaunched it's standalone app called Facebook Local that seems to have everything! Beware, it is a huge download for an app.
So the artist is named Kait Raymond. She has gone by the name "Of Birds and Specters", and "Localstrange"
this may be their facebook page but it is very outdated. You may be able to get ahold of her through there and see if she'd send them to you. I did find her personal facebook/insta pages but I think that's a bit over the line with regard to the rules around here.
I love things to do sites for Atlanta. Have you thought of concentrating on a specific topic which could help with funding or building a user base? Facebook Local is by far the easiest way to find enough of a specific type of events to start, but it will always miss something special you could share for that following. https://www.facebook.com/local/

I look forward to seeing your work!
Default answer - There are plenty of sites that collect and list events (SF Funcheap, DoTheBay, Meetup, etc.). Even Facebook's Local app is a great way to find off-the-beaten-path events - https://www.facebook.com/local/
If you have any hobbies, now is the time to really into them. If you don't have any hobbies, great time to try new shit and see what sticks!
Yep, going to parent the other reply you received. SF is filled with people who are always hustling. Either they have to work several jobs to afford living hear or have a career that can eat up their free time. As a result, the city is very hobby and event oriented. Some of my Colorado friends that no longer have Facebook but want to stay in the loop on events use the Facebook local app. Which just post events and nothing else I believe. https://www.facebook.com/local/
