The old normal was about 8 downloads a day from my site with 20-40 during a release, ignoring tiny partial downloads. Supposedly you should add to my own site the numbers from BetaNews and MajorGeeks, but Major Geeks gives crazy numbers on their site.
I'm getting 50-80 a day ever since the German story back on 8/3. This might be the new normal. It's probably some script kiddie thing, but those 50 are unique IP numbers.
I don't really want people accessing my log files, just to protect privacy of my clients. I don't really want a chore of posting download numbers. I guess it could build community cohesiveness.
I don't trust big numbers like 50 downloads when there is no Twitter impact and no impact when I google "TempleOS" filtered to 24-hours.
It's possible that my latest keystroke menu or maybe my new, nice spiffy icons, suddenly made it popular. I think I'm being naive.
If there was a key logger installed onto your computer through some malware, then no, your passwords are not safe. It's generally a bad idea to keep logging in to any sort of account if you KNOW that your computer is infected with a virus/malware.
Try running Malwarebytes to clean off your computer.

If you don't know where to find trustworthy downloads, then go to http://fileforum.betanews.com/
The computer is infected with malware, specifically a "fake antivirus". To remove it follow these steps:
click "start" then "run" type in --> msconfig.exe press OK, go to the startup tab and uncheck everything except the antivirus - reboot
Install malwarebytes anti malware from this link let it update then run a full scan and remove anything it finds.
Install superantispyware from this link, update it and run a full scan, remove anything it finds]
reboot computer... hopefully the fake AV is gone and you can now follow the below instructions to make the computer 50% faster.
Its likely to be overheating, or a video card issue. Take the top off and see if there is a lot of dust in the vents, if so vacuum or blow them out.
Find out exactly what video card you have, get the newest drivers. Its you have a Dell, go to the Dell website and put in your model number, all the drivers will be there.
Do a virus/spyware check, get spybot update it and do a scan. If nothing shows up there you are ok for spyware. Get MSE on your computer for a virus check, McAfee and Norton are shit.
If you do all that before you take it in, might save you some time and money.
Yes, get Windows 7 - the upgrade version is very inexpensive.
Install, update, and scan with Spybot S&D.
On the new PC, install Microsoft Security Essentials. If you don't torrent, this will be more than enough protection.
Those meds aren't fun - took me a day before I could even speak coherently, I guess they gave me too much anesthetic? You seem lucid enough.
As I said yesterday, here is one that looks pretty good. Lot's of downloads and no negative feedback.

Let me know how it goes.
Take care.
Spy bot search and destroy and if you get serious maleware get Malewarebytes
Your best bet with the ISP is to speak with the tech support people, rather than general customer services.
Wireshark is free and it's a tool used to look at traffic going over the network. It just allows you to see things in more detail. See http://www.wireshark.org/
You say that you have avast antivirus, but do you have Symantec endpoint actually installed? That's where the error appears to be coming from, but if you don't have it installed then it may be malware.
If it is malware, you can use a tool called Spybot. It's also a pretty useful tool to stop programs and malware from changing settings and what not.
This program enables you to edit the tag information of your media files, including adding album art.

I'm sure you already looked at what all I did, For windows 7 I would try the quad core fix, and then the codec fix, using the program at this link, (K-lite codec pack) http://fileforum.betanews.com/download/KLite-Codec-Pack_Basic/1094057842/1 When you run it, run it using the default installation type (i think it says "normal" or something to that effect) and click "ok" or "fix" whenever you are prompted with missing a dll, or something interfering with DirectShow. Finally, I would make sure the microsoft .NET 3.0 (unsure of whether this is in win7) has all of its subfolders checked, find it under: Control Panel>Programs>Turn windows Features on or off. Restart between each fix, and try it after each one.
Open up the fallout.ini file in: My Documents\My Games\Fallout3
Find the line:
bUseThreadedAI=0
change it to:
bUseThreadedAI=1
Add another line after it and insert:
iNumHWThreads=2
This will limit the game to 2 cores and prevent the engine bug from causing
the game to freeze.
IF ALL OF THOSE FAIL:
Try running in admin mode.
Try running in compatibility mode for windows 2000, XP( try all of the service packs) or Vista.
Try running in windowed mode.
Try the nvidia.dll fix. (d3d9.dll)
Are you running any mods?
Try verifying the games cache.
Try reinstalling the game.
make sure DirectX is updated to latest version, or the version found in the fallout 3 Steam folder.
No, but I did find out that the ISO I got only works for the 16-bit compatible computer system, so that's why I could not run it.
Since my computer only goes so far back to supporting Windows 95 I couldn't get it to work on the ePSXe emulator, especially since it's a PC version of the game and not a PS1 game.
I could download and use a PC Emulator, (I just tried that), but it was too complex for me to understand how to do because I couldn't get it to mount the drive to find the C&C Red Alert ISO game.
So, instead I decided to download ImgBurn found here and am now currently burning the original PS1 disk image to my PC so I can play it on the PS1 Emulator ePSXe.

Just from 1st came 1st served google search for software: http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/XMouse-Button-Control/1145607067/1
Prolly any software like this should be able to solve your problem.
Download a .ISO of your old OS (here's the file if you had 32-bit), burn it to a DVD, pop it in, boot from it, and reformat/reinstall with your original service tag. Manufacturers' recovery discs don't always have the full OS; often, they're just designed to repair damaged OS's, not to reformat. You should hold onto the discs anyway, though, as they probably have the most stable driver files for your system.
If I'm reading it correctly, any links clicked sends the OP to a spam site.
If so, and if you can still type address in manually MSE is here:
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=5201
and malwarebytes here:

Can you boot the computer in safe mode with networking? If so I would suggest doing so and installing and running Malwarebytes, which can be found here:
http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Malwarebytes-AntiMalware/1186760019/1
If after following directions from aguki and spongy your computer is still slow.
Download Malware Bytes Anti Malware
Update Malware Byes.
Download Avira Anti-Virus.
Update Avira.
Run scans with both. Fix anything it finds.
Also don't download anything from sites that look suspicious.
You wouldn't have to deal with playing Minesweeper if you used a site like BetaNews Fileforum. I've been using it for many years, one of the first sites I visit daily. It's too bad their news portal has got to crap lately though!
