We recently started buying house cleaning from Handy off a groupon. We're paying $160 a month and I felt deeply guilty spending that money on something I could so easily do myself for free.
But the thing is I never did find enough time to clean the way I'd like. I was burdened with a terrible level of guilt at how our house looked.
After the first 4 or 5 bi-weekly visits my husband came to me and said "yknow....it really is nice to have the house clean"
Seriously, it is. The level of stress off my back vs the cost, it was a good choice for us.
I have had some success with Handy. They are very, VERY flexible and the prices seem reasonable to me. You can cancel with no charge 24 hours before the cleaning and you can get discounts for regular cleanings.
Promotional link, we both get $50 off our next cleaning if you use this link.
I use Handy. There are some good ones and some meh ones, but I try to stick to my preferred cleaning people and schedule them as best I can. Amazon is doing a $30 off cleaning services thing right now, too.
A lot of these cleaners are happy to work for you outside the auspices of Amazon and Handy. You just have to ask them and work out a deal. The drawback is that they might not have insurance coverage without Amazon or Handy.
I use Handy once a month. They charge me $58 for a 2 hour cleaning. My house has wood floors and covers about 1200 sq ft. They bring their own gear including canister vac, but sometimes I insist on them using my stuff (particularly if they don't bring their own Bona floor cleaner). I am quite happy with the service. You have the option of choosing a particular employee if you like them.
I like using Handy.com - been using since November on a rental property. They give a good deal if you set up a regular cadence. Quality folks so far, all digital and no physical money transfer. Obligatory share link: http://handy.com/r/JUSTIN6294
