It's pretty nuts. Every 4th post or so is an ad.
If you have Android, I highly recommend Instander.

I had been using SyncThing for a long time now. Mostly to back up my camera pics between my smartphone and my laptop.
A few weeks ago I found this Instagram mod - for Android. Its coolest feature is the ability to download media with one-tap. The download folder is SyncThing-ized to my laptop, and a wallpaper script that randomly rotates every hour. I've never had so many nice wallpapers.
Gotta love SyncThing.

You don't have to delete the official reddit app but you can. I have them both installed
For instander https://thedise.me/instander/ You can download the original but you have to remove the one you have installed from playstore or download the clone and keep them both. Your choice
If you like that and use Instagram. Try out a third party Instagram app called instanter. It gets rid of ads and sponsored content on your feed. I'm finally able to see everything on my feed without an ad showing up every three posts.
You should first clear app data of both (clone and instagram app) then go to the official website and download the apk (By the way delete the previously installed apk) i think it should work finely.

And consider that if you see "Instander" on Google Play, it's fake. You have to download .apk from the the official website., and uninstall official app beforehand
As far as I am concerned, Aeroinsta and Instander are the best mods for Instagram so far. I've been using Instander for a while but I changed to Aeroinsta out of pure curiosity and there aren't thay many differences, maybe a few more settings and some 'Quick Experiment Settings' guides available on their websites.
Hast du dir mal Instander angeschaut? Die Webseite sieht nach Grütze aus ist, aber soweit ich weiß die offizielle.

Check out advanced options for higher resolution photos/videos, but no ads is what makes it a no brainer over the (very crappy) stock instagram app.
Have you downloaded it from Here? . I'm not sure what's wrong since it works flawlessly, maybe it's an issue with your Instagram account. Maybe you should check your account directly on Instagram once to see if nothing is wrong.

If it's not FOSS, why would I use it over the native Instagram app? (serious Q!)
I already have trouble with the meta premise that "FOSS = better because, if adware/etc is inserted, it cannot be hidden" because it implies two things I have a lot of trouble swallowing:
that all the FOSS developers are just great altruistic people (life's shown me how few & far between such people are, yet with the FOSS movement the premise is "They're all doing this work for free for you, because altruism"....I guess I don't see the label FOSS as inherently disqualifying the premise of "If you aren't paying, you're the product" and am far more suspicious of FOSS than others)
that, if&when there's malicious code in a FOSS offering, that we can put a high degree of faith on someone finding it in the open code, I mean I'm not a programmer but I know how large (lines of text) an app can be, it's really hard to believe it'd be hard to slip stuff into FOSS and get away with it, I mean I've never heard of any organized software-verification on FOSS software it's just this unstated notion that "if it was released FOSS, you can trust it" which I have trouble with.
So yeah I guess the main Q Re your recommendation would be along the lines of "If it's to be trusted, why wouldn't it be OS, what would they want to make it closed for?", followed by "If both the real Insta app, and this one, are both closed and going to be "taking their pound of flesh" one way or another, wouldn't it be smarter to stick with the bigger enterprise that has to worry more about its image?" Instagram itself wouldn't be mining bitcoins because they wanna stay around, some instagram-clone app, well, I can't say the same (can't help but think of when utorrent started bitcoin mining some years back!)

BTW: I don't recommend using a WhatsApp mod. Google drive doesn't support the backup function, and there is apparently a risk of being banned by WhatsApp.

It's Android 5 it defaults to which is annoying (I counted 2 in the wrong direction, lol!).

What performance settings do you have? I have it set to 'High', Enhanced Compatibility, 60fps and everything else relatively default, and it's been really stable. Just works.. I did replace the launcher with Nova to clean it up a bit.
You could try an Insta 'edited' version, like Instander. That might work well for you?

I use TelegramX (which is also made by the Telegram team) and have never seen an advert...
If you use Instagram, check Instander. That removes all sponsored posts etc.
Games are getting more clever. Some are self-hosting, so they'll be impossible to remove without hacking the individual game. And downloading random modded apks of games off of dodgy sites online is not recommended..
Instander is somewhat safe maybe (I'm saying this because I have used other apps from TheDice and the guy seems legit, he even has dedicated telegram groups for any issues for the apps)
But the website you mentioned is not the official website. The name link itself looks shady.

Io ho Instagram senza pubblicità (grazie Instander), ma nei recommended di youtube è comparso nakedbakers.tv. Che sarebbe pure stato interessante se non fosse tutto a pagamento: 10 dollari al mese per vedere tipe nude che cucinano... e a due click pornhub gratis. Subito proprio eh.
