First line of the article:
> Paranoid Android is one of the more popular custom ROMs for Android devices out there
Paranoid Android is also the name of the team developing said ROMs. Read more here
ROM Name: Paranoid Android
ROM Version: 4.5-BETA2
Android Version: 4.4.4
Download Link: http://paranoidandroid.co/roms/mako/
Kernel: Franco Kernel
Recovery: TWRP
General Feedback: Exellent ROM with boatloads of features, and rock-solid to boot.
Features:
Notification Peek built in. When you get a notification, it will show it transparently at the top of the statusbar.
My favorite feature: Volume controls in the statusbar! I tried the xposed module that does this but PA's is better. It will show your currently selected type in the statusbar, but if you want to manually edit it or the other two, a button lets you easily slide open the volume panel from the statusbar.
AppOpps built in.
Stability & Performance: No issues.
Caveats & Warnings: Lux and the version of superuser included ARE NOT COMPATIBLE! There is a bug in one of the two programs that makes clicking the permissions dialogs impossible. I installed SuperSu to fix this.
I just flashed my N7 with Paranoid Android. Mainly was looking for something different than stock. There are a bunch of improvements to the OS but nothing too drastic.
Hey man! You can go back to stock android, you just have to flash the stock image. No problem. If you want google apps you have to flash a gapps package. Google apps: http://paranoidandroid.co/gapps/ and stock: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#yakju It honestly is easier to just use a toolkit to go back to stock. Check the sidebar for the link to the XDA Galaxy nexus toolkit. EDIT: You can just flash the google images the same way you flashed CM. I recommend the newer version of CM11 actually. To get back to stock don't flash those images the same way.
Like I said: beta 3 isn't available. They must have taken it offline quickly. Why don't you try to look at their website before being a dick to others?
~~If you want a solid ROM that won't kill your battery, and just need all around good experience, perhaps Paranoid Android is a good choice.
Realized you mentioned Parandoid android. I'd choose this over stock - It was amazing to me and I can't say enough good things about the experience i had with it.
I was using stock android (4.4.4) before I switched over to PA. the version of PA I have is the first one on this page: http://paranoidandroid.co/roms/hammerhead/ I don't think I have updated my radio, considering I'm not sure what that means. (Not much of a developer, just wanted some features)
Ultimately , after an year of Loyal Usage today , I ditch MIUI and shift to my ex (Paranoid Android).
Finally , I fly far away from the guilt that being a Nexus User I haven't flashed KitKat ROMS for long. xD
It's kind of odd that they didn't include any screenshots or links for this update, but you can still download it from http://paranoidandroid.co .
It sounds like the MotoX active notifications, but ~~a little smarter in that it knows when it's in your pocket and when it's being picked up~~ it only displays your active notifications when it detects it's getting picked up.

ROM Name: Paranoid Android ROM Version: 4+ Beta 3
Android Version: 4.4.2
Download Link: http://paranoidandroid.co/
Kernel: 3.4.0-gac9222c
Recovery: TWRP
General Feedback: Great, though it's not feature-complete yet. Still missing the big features such as HALO, Pie Controls, Hybrid Engine, and Theme Engine.
Hardware Comments: I have a little bit of trouble connecting to a specific Wi-Fi access point. It'll appear in my connections, but when I try to connect to it it disappears and says "not in range" when I am right beside it.
Caveats & Warnings: "See through lock screen" option will occasionally show my launcher rotated 90 degrees and stretched in the wrong orientation.
Xda is the place to go for ROMs these days. If you're dead set on Carbon then yes download it straight from their site
Carbon Rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2137013
For gapps, if you're running 4.4.2 then you're gonna want the newest pa_gapps-stock.4.4.2
my current setup on Windows 10 1909. It's kind of a mix mash of the last few themes I've done, this one is darker however, and more vibrant.

Similar to CyanogenMod, Paranoid Android is a popular custom ROM. Back in the good old days of Jelly Bean; it had lots of useful features and updates were regular, every few days, with additions and big fixes etc. Since then, development has gone downhill. Presently, they only ever release a new update once every few weeks, and they hardly incorporate anything. The community mods are rude and obnoxious, and they've lost most of their development team to OnePlus, where they've spent their time making OxygenOS, which itself kinda sucks. Also, this was on Nova Launcher
Take a look at these two sites and get some ideas http://paranoidandroid.co/ http://www.androidpolice.com/
Also i would look at changing the logo, the zombie hand looks like a bad scifi movie prop from the 90s
Previous to my purchasing of the HTC One I always flashed roms... PA is a good one ... second most popular after Cyanogenmod I think.
(also did you see PA's new website? It's a thing of beauty: http://paranoidandroid.co/).
Unfortunately I have no experience with flashing the One.... I was mostly happy with stock. I'll see what I do when 5.0 rolls out.
Just one thing.... Unless you flash a modification of sense you will usually lose the WiFi Calling feature. If that doesn't bother you then I say go for it.
I'm on an older build, I downloaded it from the download link in this thread. Where can I grab today's build?
Edit: is this the place to download it or do I have to find a specific G2 version?

You can learn more about it by doing research on your phone at XDA and such.
CM has kinda sold out so I'm not sure I would trust them but PA is quality stuff.
loving it! it is silkier than the stock rom. and with a lot of beautiful customization. such as, Android L Recent menu, Pie control, etc.
bad thing is, it can crash anytime when ART is used. DON'T USE ART WHEN USING PA. i've lost almost all of my file there. better safe than sorry
other than that it's good!
If you want to run a rooted modded 4.4 rom may I recommend ParanoidAndroid - it's not buggy and is beautiful, and adds a load of features you'll love.
Download the rom for Nexus 5 (make sure you get the one for the Nexus 5) and a rom from here http://paranoidandroid.co/
Copy both to your phone, then use the wipe option in Twrp. Then flash the rom, and then the GAPPS, and reboot! Voila, a fully rooted beautiful OS you'll love to use.
If not, and you really want to back to stock, follow /u/fatherrabbi 's instructions below
Current versions only run on Nexus devices.

There doesn't seem to be a skyrocket build even for the older 4.3 buids.

Forgot just one thing. Google apps. You need to flash them (install them) with the custom recovery. Here's a link
http://paranoidandroid.co/gapps/
Just make sure it says 4.4
Do this right after you finish flashing the cyanogen zip file.
