Download a reliable torrent client, I use QBitTorrent (https://qbittorrent.org/download.php)
Using an adblocker if you don't want porn on your screen, go to pirate bay (the pirate bay dot org, no spaces) and search for what you're looking for.
Make sure the search is sorting by highest to lowest "seeds" (labelled as SE, this is basically how many people are uploading the file while you download it).
Click the link for the file you want, making sure that the person who uploaded it isn't totally random. If there's a colored skull by the magnet icon on the file list, it can likely be trusted.
Hit the green "GET THIS TORRENT" link by the magnet icon once you're on the main page for the torrent you want. This should prompt Chrome/Safari/etc to open QBitTorrent and begin downloading.
Once it's done, QBitTorrent will say "seeding" on the file. It's good practice among media nerds to keep seeding the file for a bit after this point to help other people download it, but that's not necessary. You can right click and delete the torrent from QBitTorrent (making sure not to delete the data too).
Every download is gonna have a different install process, but it's likely that the file will be packaged in a .rar or .zip with a readme file and a crack folder. The crack folder is basically what makes the program run without connecting to Adobe/MS/etc servers. Check out the readme and go from there.
I'm old school and use thepiratebay, but other people have more modern stuff they like. The first step is to install a torrent client. I use qbittorrent. Then you go on tpb (I highly recommend using an adblocker), search up what you want, and then click the little magnet icon. That will make qbittorrent download the thing. Then you transfer it onto your phone.
The other advantage of pirating is that you have access to more than just what Netflix or Amazon prime or whatever. You can also find shows like Avatar the last Airbender that uses to be on Netflix but were then removed.
Have you tried https://qbittorrent.org? It has extensive features, a very similar UI to uTorrent, and is completely free with no ads
If that's not to your liking, look into Transmission, Halite, PicoTorrent, Tixati, and BiglyBT
OP - i would highly suggest you to use qbittorrent - qbittorrent.org
its free and open source and is highly customizable. me and my fellow commentors swear by this one and it will not let you down.
give it a try!
Torrents 101:
Why do I keep reading folks calling qbittorrent.org a "search engine", and like - the best search engine ever? It's a client. The site clearly isn't a search engine. What is even going on here?
Uh...ahhh... maybe stupid question here but ive been watching this subreddit for 15 minutes and i cant find an acutal link to download the software. I don't know where else should i ask this i just want to download it because there is a qbitorrent.com and a qbittorrent.org website... which one is the real one?
>I'd love to figure out a way to share all those.....
Use Torrents. I recommend qbittorrent.org and a always on VPN client. Here is a video on how to create a torrent in qBittorrent. Upload the torrent file to a file share site like mediafire, Mega, 4shared, etc and then you can share the link to the torrent. Interested in the collection you have and can help if needed so it can be shared.
You copy the link from the textbox and open your torrent client and there will be a button or an option to import a magnet link and click download.
If you can't find the option to import a magnet link, paste it into your browser and it will prompt you to open your torrent client.
BTW this not a normal download, it's a torrent. So for that you need a torrent client. I recommend FOSS qBittorrent (https://qbittorrent.org/)
yep, you can.hop to https://www.fosshub.com/qBittorrent-old.html, or if you prefer, https://qbittorrent.org/ then downloads, then at the bottom "old versions"
download 4.2.1, and run the installer.
btw don't use YouTube tutorials like that. sometimes they come with malware. also utorrent is not recommended s it has bloatware and a bunch of other garbage. Use qbittorrent instead. qbittorrent.org/download.php. A site for games is fitgirl-repacks.site/. check the mega thread for more info
This sounds less like a VPN issue and more of a negligence (or ignorance) on your part. The best way to truly learn is through strife—and you’re doing that right now.
Make an effort to ensure your VPN is running the entire time your torrent client is downloading/uploading. μTorrent tends to minimize to the taskbar (on Windows) when you X out of the program. Go into the application’s settings and disable this behavior so the program truly shuts down when closed.
Or better yet, switch to qBitTorrent and bind its network interface to your VPN’s virtual adapter. This way if your VPN connection is disrupted, the torrent client will be unable to leak your IP address. Sharing will only continue once a connection to the VPN is re-established.
You should be fairly OK with the transition to macOS.
Transmission and qBitTorrent are popular torrent clients. If you use FTP to access a seedbox or a similar server, Transmit is a popular FTP client that supports SFTP, WebDAV, and even Google Drive + Dropbox.
