i very impulsively bought an apple pencil last year and ive been using it with my ipad for the past 2 semesters. i like having my homework and notes in one place, and it's super easy to upload things/share things which is a big plus.
after about a semester of using it though, i realized that i personally prefer the feel of paper, and with loose leaf printer paper (my old method of taking notes), i have the ability to see many different pages at once and i can organize my thoughts a lot better. when i was taking quantum in the spring, i switched to using paper and pen because writing was just easier -- there were a lot of letters and numbers and graphs and it was difficult for me on the ipad. i did exams on paper as well because scrolling up and down and up and down would break my train of thought really badly!
i also just missed the feel of paper and pen. for this upcoming sem, i'll be using blank page journals for notes (amazon link) and doing homework on the ipad for easy uploading.
at the end of the day it is really major specific and personal preference, this is just my experience! i know people who use their ipad religiously.
But that wouldn't be as easy as blaming the CalSERVE "cultural marxists".
Veto letter posted on the ASUC website here and the original bill itself here.
Everyone should read the actual documents before they start flaming. Her stated concerns for returning it to the Senate seem fairly reasonable: giving graduate students a bigger stake as they use BART more.

These "protesters" have been attacking Milo all around the country, using violence in an attempt to silence him. That is the exact definition of terrorism. The only reason you're saying that it isn't terrorism is because you sympathize with the terrorists. You're on their side.
For folks worried about losing MS Office, check out LibreOffice:
It's open source, free of charge, and works under Windows/Mac/Linux.
I personally use it for school so I know it gets the job done.

Depending on what you think of this police department this might be a strong endorsement for Kate Harrison. Police unfortunately suffer badly from the Shirky Principle and need to be put in their place from time to time. The more militarized and unionized and politically active they become the harder it is to do that.

Here are the formats and editions on World Catalog.
Their list of institutions includes University of North Carolina at Greensboro, University Libraries. Which isn't where you are, but ILL/IBS is more likely to get it there.
I don't think you're necessarily fucked w/o an internship, given the state of the current market for jobs (this isn't like 2002 for CS jobs), but obviously it definitely helps to have something to talk about in career fairs / interviews and the stamp of approval of having work experience.
I'm sure you've heard this before, but at this point your best shot is internships at startups. Surely you've heard of some interesting startups out there. If not, this is one of the few times when it helps to start following tech trends (on Reddit, techcrunch, Hacker News)!
AngelList is a good place. The whoishiring threads on Hacker News are fairly high quality (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=7679431). Callisto is good. I've never had luck with LinkedIn.
Also, look at the jobs page of startups. If they don't list jobs, email interesting startups directly (possibly by guessing the jobs email, usually it's jobs@domain).
Signs I usually look for in judging startups: whether I've read about their stuff before (this is one of the few useful things that come out of all the time I spend on Hacker News), the team, the investors.
I also read some of your past threads. If a company doesn't reply, you need to follow up and bug them until they give you a definite rejection! Even if you all you did was submit your resume. Now, obviously, if a company doesn't get back to you 95% of the time it means rejection. But that is not always the case - I applied to a top tech company (submitted resume online), didn't hear back, sent an email to jobs@<company.com>, and got an interview.
Above all else, if you don't get an internship, COMMIT to working and COMPLETING ONE shippable project over the summer.
I think no matter the debate, the posting was needlessly vindictive and did nothing to further their cause.

http://www.indeed.com/jobs?q=summer+intern&l= I'm sure there's still a lot of companies willing to take on a summer intern. Can't promise you'll get paid much (if anything) but you can probably still pull something together!
If not, spend the summer working on some personal projects. If you're econ, companies will want you to be well versed with various types of software when you apply. This is a good chance to learn some of the ones that you won't get to work with in class, so that when you apply you can say you know more than just R and Excel.
Maybe it was a misunderstanding. See Bubble Tea Tapioca Pearls May Contain Cancer-Causing Chemicals.

I got this list from http://guide.berkeley.edu and included information from the Undergraduate, Master’s, and Doctorate levels.
Feedback is appreciated: Do you like SurveyMonkey? How long should the survey be open? I'm still figuring out the best way to share the results. For now, here's the results link.
This could be a sticky post if the mods approve.
Edit: Damn you guys are fast at responding.
I have them from Spring '11 when she did the DNA replication/repair section.
I've put the lectures as well as the review materials she/the GSIs provided us for the MT review in my public Dropbox Folder here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/xa6g29vr3btzkh5/4q_tp9fOCy
That's why I recommend taking it with Hug if you can. Even though Hilfinger's tests are easier, you'll learn so much more if you take it with Hug. There's a reason everyone loves Hug.
lol dw, perfectly normal question. FAANG is an acronym referring to some of the biggest/most well-paying tech companies (Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Google). A lot of people also associate other big companies like Microsoft with the acronym as well.
Leetcode refers to a website where people do questions to train for software engineering interviews. Questions are divided into 3 levels: easy, medium, and hard. Most FAANG companies tend to ask Medium level questions, with Hard level questions showing up frequently as well.
DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH SOHN. ME118 is known for being the class that everyone wants to take, but ends up regretting taking. I HIGHLY suggest switching out of this class. Sohn is terrible. Check out these reviews for more info http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/ShowRatings.jsp?tid=726349
If you decide to take this class feel free to PM me your "you were right" message in three months.
Yeah the book was eventually made, but it was rather quietly released without the publicity Kerr had hoped. You can buy a copy of the original 1967 edition on Amazon amazingly.
(edit: It appears that the 2012 freshmen did get a special gift copy of Fiat Lux, which makes me quite jealous. It also makes me wonder why the school doesn't have the book on sale in the Cal Student Store– I'm sure a lot of people would buy it.)
Just get a VPN, you'll want it anyway, a lot of stuff is blocked. I use Private Internet Access.
I'm pretty sure you will not have access to Berkeley email, the mail server for gmail (which Berkeley uses) is located at , and since that's a subdomain of I would assume it's also blocked.
If you're wondering how cool this is exactly, here's part of a comment from Karpathy (guy doing his CS Ph.D you can google him) on a submission to Hacker News:
>Sometimes it's hard to separate signal from noise when you're not part of a field and just hearing about projects/papers, so I wanted to quickly pitch in to say that this is a legitimately ground-breaking approach and line of work that you can expect to hear much more about in the future. It's probably the most exciting robotics/manipulation project I'm currently aware of.
Oh shit, I had D'abrera for stats about 2 years ago and always thought that he was an asshole that clearly played favoritism. Looking through his emails, the stuff he talks about like having orgies and giving the guy an F if he didn't accept his invitation to Australia is pretty sick. I guess this explains the whole controversy a while back where he up and quit mid semester.
His investigation by the OPHD is an interesting read. Starts on pg 428: https://www.scribd.com/doc/307138145/UC-Berkeley-Sexual-harassment-investigation-reports#

> Reading Melissa Wen's article, you can tell that she is embarassed by what really happened, because she hides it until the very end. The UC Student Association voted heavily in favor of divesting from the United States. It was a more lopsided vote for divestment than the vote to divest from Israel. Thank you UC Student Association. You just told everyone that the entire divestment idea can be ignored by rational people. We now know that the actual UC will not take any steps to change their current expenditures, because the students sound like they are completely crazy, and nobody will listen to crazy students except for their school paid psychologists.
> Are you kidding? • 15 hours ago
> "At the same meeting, which was held at UCLA, the association also passed a resolution in favor of divesting from governments accused of human rights violations, including Brazil, Russia, Turkey, Indonesia and the United States."
> Wait, the UCSA also wants the UC administration to divest from the United States!? This is insane. Why did the author wait until the very end of the article to mention something so important?
I have a 2015 MacBook Pro which has the same port as your laptop (Mini DisplayPort). I use a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable which has worked reliably for many years. Here’s a link to the type of cable: Amazon Basics Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Cable
This article has a description of a lot of them. Warning that some have very low acceptance rates, so don't get discouraged if you get rejected. There's also a game design club which accepts everyone.

There's also a plugin called TeXMaths that allows you to use LaTeX in your LibreOffice documents!
I find it much better than the built-in equation editor!
It is the result of Daddy Donald Knuth not having a good way to typeset his papers, and is the greatest typesetting system in the universe.
To learn it, just start using it. I use ShareLaTeX. Do your homework in them, and take pride in how beautiful your submissions are (and how ugly the work of non-typesetting peasants is).
Daddy Donald, please hold me.
P.S. It is pronounced LAAATEKKKKKKKkkKkkkKk, not latex. We are scientists, not fetishists (please note that being both is also acceptable).
Also, if you don't want to shell out for an expensive tablet and already have a laptop, you can use an external drawing pad such as this Wacom intuous. They work really well for note taking and are WAY cheaper than most tablets, but do require a laptop to take the notes on. It's worked really well for me so far and they have support for all the major OS(s, es, 's,?).
My bad, I didn't notice the delivery options. Crazy that Amazon could have stocking issues from how big the wildfire problems are.

You can also try mixing up search terms for disposable/nondisposable masks and higher NIOSH ratings - there's one $20ish for an older 3M half mask model + 3M P100 cartridges, one and two day shipping available if I read it right.
> CS 164: Compilers and Programming Languages
Oh what a fun, but punishing (in terms of time commitment) that class was. I took it with Hilfinger and I loved it. A couple years out of college, I started writing a compiler for fun, and I've been doing that for over a year now. It's basically the projects I did in that class, but focusing on the parts that I found especially interesting and spread out over a longer period of time.
> Math 113: Abstract Algebra
Loved, loved, loved this class. It definitely messed with my head a bit. I wish I'd had time to take Algebraic Geometry, though Differential Geometry was also really fun.
> CS 61A: Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs
When did you take it? Sounds like you took it after Harvey left, so it wasn't taught in Scheme anymore? I looked at some of the materials from the post-Harvey class, and it looked solid, but it's a shame it doesn't get down to fundamentals the way it did when Scheme was being used.
I'll add a class I really enjoyed:
Math 136: Incompleteness and Undecidability. This was by far my favorite class. I also took CS 172, which covered many of the same topics, but I liked the emphasis on logic and model theory we had in Math 136. The course description for the curious:
> Functions computable by algorithm, Turing machines, Church's thesis. Unsolvability of the halting problem, Rice's theorem. Recursively enumerable sets, creative sets, many-one reductions. Self-referential programs. Godel's incompleteness theorems, undecidability of validity, decidable and undecidable theories.
The thing is, Berkeley CS classes don't teach you a specific programming language. The goal of CS61A is to teach you to program in general, so they focus a lot on universal constructs used in most all languages. They just chose to teach the class with Python in particular (a recent change).
Here's some stuff that may help you: - learn some basic python scripting. That way you won't be lost the first few weeks with all the syntax. - understand the basics of recursion: what it is, and why it's important. This topic is typically the most confusing for beginner students in CS61A. - maybe look into the differences between object oriented programming and procedural programming. This isn't as important, and is more of a CS61B thing I think, but since you have Head First Java, there's a really cool section in that book which gives in depth examples of the pros and cons between the two. - after learning a bit, just hack something out that interests you. Doesn't have to be hard, just make something easy that's like 100 lines of python.
In all honesty though, if you do those first two bullet points to some extent, and walk into the class with a smile and super excited to learn, you'll do fine. It's all about how invested in the material you are.
I don't think we have a class that explicitly teaches JavaScript. most courses here are more focused on the theory of CS than the specific languages/libraries you might use, so you'd probably be better served by an online tutorial.
for js I'd probably recommend this website: https://www.w3schools.com/js/
for react I personally learned from the official tutorial: https://reactjs.org/tutorial/tutorial.html
we do have a web design decal that's student run/taught that might teach js and react, but idk if they make their materials public.
my friends and i made this over a few weeks to enter the STC web app competition (http://stc.berkeley.edu/competitions.htm#webappcomp). we'd love it if you guys would be willing to take it for a spin and let us know what you think.

When we got a few hundred million of restored funding:
“Those protests on the U.C. campuses were the tipping point,” the governor’s chief of staff, Susan Kennedy, said in an interview after the speech. “Our university system is going to get the support it deserves.”
Seriously, sometimes I wonder why Cal has a reputation of having exceptionally bright, independent-thinking students.
Download a reliable torrent client, I use QBitTorrent (https://qbittorrent.org/download.php)
Using an adblocker if you don't want porn on your screen, go to pirate bay (the pirate bay dot org, no spaces) and search for what you're looking for.
Make sure the search is sorting by highest to lowest "seeds" (labelled as SE, this is basically how many people are uploading the file while you download it).
Click the link for the file you want, making sure that the person who uploaded it isn't totally random. If there's a colored skull by the magnet icon on the file list, it can likely be trusted.
Hit the green "GET THIS TORRENT" link by the magnet icon once you're on the main page for the torrent you want. This should prompt Chrome/Safari/etc to open QBitTorrent and begin downloading.
Once it's done, QBitTorrent will say "seeding" on the file. It's good practice among media nerds to keep seeding the file for a bit after this point to help other people download it, but that's not necessary. You can right click and delete the torrent from QBitTorrent (making sure not to delete the data too).
Every download is gonna have a different install process, but it's likely that the file will be packaged in a .rar or .zip with a readme file and a crack folder. The crack folder is basically what makes the program run without connecting to Adobe/MS/etc servers. Check out the readme and go from there.
Weird, is it not uploaded on bSpace? I'm in 131 right now and for some reason the 131A syllabus is posted under our resources O__O Anyways, I'm too noob so I just uploaded it to here for you to download. :) Good luck with your assignment!
Its understandable to look back and wonder about the past, but remember, the grass will always be greener on the other side. You are clearly a talented, hard working person, and I don't doubt you will be successful wherever you go to school.
Its not where you go to college, but what you do while you are there. I recommend reading Frank Bruni's book Where you go is not who you'll be. The author himself is a great example of this: forgoing an acceptance at Yale, he wanted to attend the University of North Carolina. Despite turning down an Ivy League for a "lower ranked state school", he was admitted to the journalism program at Columbia, and now writes for the New York Times, arguably one of the pinnacles of his profession.
There is no shortage of great people who went to their local school. The only two Americans to ever win 2 Nobel Prizes are physicist John Bardeen and chemist Linus Pauling, who did their undergrads at Wisconsin and Oregon State respectively. All of the UCs are great institutions, and I have no doubt that you can go on do great things!
I took Latin 1 last semester. We followed the first eight chapters of Learn to Read Latin. The emphasis was entirely on reading Latin so be aware of that. The homework assignments were centered around the workbook for the textbook. Most of the work involved translating Latin sentences to English. We had two midterms and a final. First midterm was a mix of translation and grammar questions. The second midterm and final mainly involved translating a passage and answering some questions about the grammar within the passage. I was worried at first about the pacing but I do think the professor did a good job of making sure we understood things before moving on. It was a good class overall.
A good start is CS61A (The Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs), if you've had CS experience or are quick to pick this stuff up, or CS10 (The Beauty and Joy of Computing) if you don't.
If you didn't/don't think you will get a 5 on AP Calc, or you didn't take AP Calc at all, then take Math 1A or 1B (a 5 in Calc AB clears Math 1A, and 5 in Calc BC clears 1A and 1B). Otherwise take Math 54 (Linear Algebra and Differential Equations).
Usually CS majors start with one direct CS class and one math class. They're all part of the major requirement (the required classes to declare your major).
Remember in Phase I you can only sign up for up to 10.5 units. This being your first semester, you'll probably sign up for two 4-unit classes. Find a seminar you like in the catalog (you can do this at CalSO if you want) and sign up for that, seminars are usually interesting and easy. And remember, there are no repercussions to dropping classes before the deadline, so if you sign up for a class you don't like you can still drop it and enroll in another class (provided it's not full yet).
For a full list of classes needed to declare your major, refer to this. Note that EE42's status as a major requirement is questionable right now, but it'll definitely be a graduation requirement if it's not a major requirement.
If anybody else on Reddit is part of Film & Media, you can get the Master CS5 collection with Premiere, After Effects and Audition by going here:

Milo is a professional troll and delights in acting in bad faith. He also targeted individuals for harassment both in his university appearances and online. If Republican clubs want to invite "alt-right"/neoreactionary speakers, they could try Steve Bannon or Tomi Lahren. Bannon would actually be extremely interesting, although he is very secretive. Lahren has extreme beliefs and a similar irreverent style as Milo, except as far as I know she prefers to discuss those beliefs rather than single out students.
Cal is awesome. Sure it has its down sides - yeah library hours suck (nights/weekends), computer facilities blow (unless you're in the CS department, then they're fucking rad!), some wear and tear that serves as a regular reminder that you're at a public institution and definitely not at Standford.
But the student body is great, very diverse and very smart. Wide range of ideas and backgrounds. Most of my professors have been awesome/brilliant, Gailmard (PS), Pandolfo (anthro), Bielenberg (hist). The campus is gorgeous and has amazing research published regularly. You know UCLA isn't working on mind-reading computers!! http://techcrunch.com/2013/04/08/no-more-typed-passwords-berkeley-researchers-develop-passthoughts/
>"Respondent talked about suicide, orgies, drugs, money, and his childhood"

D'abrera sounds like a character from Always Sunny.
As long as you know 61b, you'll be prepared for an internship. However, you only need Leetcode and interviewing skills to get an internship. Thus best time to apply to internships is now.
I suggest you start by understanding some of the problems on this list: https://leetcode.com/discuss/general-discussion/460599/blind-75-leetcode-questions. You should also try joining the Leetcode 101 Decal next semseter, the people there are really great and you'll learn a lot about the application process.
I go to Bridges about weekly, and I'm a big fan. The staff are super friendly and every week they re-set one section, so the routes are pretty fresh. Can't say I've been to Ironworks, but that's just because I'm more into bouldering.
It's not too hard to BART up to the El Cerrito station and walk there, though biking from the station would be faster. And while Berkeley is relatively hilly, El Cerrito isn't.
Also if you haven't seen, there's a Groupon for Bridges: https://www.groupon.com/deals/bridges-rock-gym-10
I'm serious. There's a whole game behind the resume that isn't just chronological. Recruiters typically take 10 seconds to look at your resume, and if your resume doesn't stand out, guess where your application is going? If you really want to standout, you can also look into making infographic resumes like this: http://mashable.com/2011/10/15/infographic-resume-apps/
Your project kicked my project's ass. We made a little website and posted fliers around campus with simple statements that we learned in class (sleep helps you consolidate memories, etc) that linked to the website.
So all you people NOT in psych133, feel free to check out our website and learn a little more about why sleep is beneficial for students specifically.
PS: good luck on our final on Friday!

> You people are so quick to assume the worst of someone based on a stupid article someone whipped up in 10 minutes. The fact that this article was posted at all is defamation to my character. I have been wrongfully accused of a crime I did not commit. And my poor dog was just defending my girlfriend who was scared to death of a bunch of police with their guns drawn ready to shoot. My dog loved people. The article doesnt state that they shot my dog 7-8 times which seems incredibly excessive. I wasnt even home when all this happened. I come home from work, and pull up to the entire Berkeley PD in front of my house. We have a "Beware of Dog" sign on our entry gare they could have been mindful of that. They didnt give my girlfriend anytime to secure our dog. They just bust in with guns drawn. How else do you expect our dog to react? This aticle should have never been posted. Especially without getting the facts straight.

> It is undeniable that my daughter's breast cancer was caused by storing her cell phone in her bra for 5 years, 12 hours per day every day. That was done out of convenience. Cancer is NEVER convenient. Her masses lined up with EXACTLY where she stored her cell phone. Modern medicine nor can any doctors explain the reason she was diagnosed (no genetic markers either). Does this make it medically impossible that she HAS cancer? No, however until I receive a valid medically proven answer I will rely on the FACTS I know listed above and will continue to advise all men and women to the dangers of cell phones. Do not confuse "no medical evidence" with the word "impossible". It does happen and it DID happen to my 21 year old daughter. Just take a moment to think about your decision to store your cell phone against your body. You have a choice but you need the information that cell phone companies include in ALL owners manuals to make an educated, safe decision.

Currently recruiting as an incoming supersenior, so am by no means in the best position to give advice, but chiming in anyway:
Assuming you're mainly trying to maximize earning potential, another option is to brush up on CS70 / EE126 material and apply to quantitative trading or other quantitative finance positions. A physics major is at best tangentially helpful when applying to a SWE position, but is directly attractive for quant roles. I'm currently recruiting and am in relatively the same boat as you (Physics, added DS when I realized grad school isn't worth it for me) and I'm getting a much higher response rate from these sorts of roles than SWE shops. These interviews test material more related to your physics degree, too (i.e. applied stats and mathy brain teasers). If you look through WallStreetOasis and do some of the prep work people recommended there, you can probably wind up landing a job that's even higher-paying than the entry-level SWE jobs that are attainable for you. I think entry-level quant pay is in the ballpark of $150-200k/yr.
In terms of SWE as a physics major, I think it's a well-known fact that physicists don't really know how to code. If you're doing projects already, that's great, but make sure you're demonstrating that you don't fall into the set of physics majors and physicists that do malpractice like zero testing, zero documentation, lack of rigorous style conformation, pushing directly to master branch, etc. Try to set up continuous integration pipelines with your projects to demonstrate you're better than this. A physics degree will teach you how to code, but a CS degree teaches you how to code well, which is a pretty massive difference.
You should get a Graphic Drawing Tablet, but the kind of tablet that connects to your laptop or iPad. I'm linking one below:

I took the class with another professor Fall 2012 and I could give you the dialogues/books we read:
Euthyphro, Apology, Crito, Protagoras, Republic, Phaedo, Nicomachean Ethics, De Anima, Categories, Posterior Analytics, Physics, Parts of Animals.
I'm just reading off the syllabus, which doesn't have specific page numbers etc., so apologies for that. If you'd like the syllabus doc or have any questions about the class feel free to PM me or ask here if you think other people would like to read our discussion.
If you have an Android phone, you can download the app here and use it with the Google Cardboard or just without a headset. It wouldn't be the full experience, but it'll give you a general idea what to expect. The headset itself will just improve your experience, and the software will only improve by the time the headset is delivered (December 2015).
A final tactic you might try, is hiding a camera in the back of the fridge or in some revolting-looking food item? Maybe this or a similar consumer device might serve your needs??
Shame is a powerful tool. Imagine a supercut on YouTube of kleptofriend pilfering your food? Works if your food is clearly labeled with your name.
I realize you are thinking in terms of Cal classes, but on the off chance you're willing to look more broadly, Coursera's intro Python class IIPP Part 1 and 2 is phenomenal. As I took this class, I looked back at my own CS 60A/B/C experience and thought "wow, CS teaching sure has improved." It is a fair amount of (fun!) work and you won't get a grade - that could be a plus or a minus.
You can also learn a lot about programming by reading the book Think Python and working through the exercises. Lower stress than a Cal class, and all the material will be very relevant for a "general" CS education.
Good luck.
you sure about that? http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=ri8b3s&s=8#.VV7s9PlViko

i'm not too good with histograms. The Median was a C. Can anyone tell the average from this?

If that doesn’t work, there’s always target
Large, cheap, waterproof, foil lined and faced with gray fluffy fabric: https://www.amazon.com/TEEHOME-Waterproof-Blanket-Stadium-Camping/dp/B0769GW8T7?ref_=ast_sto_dp . Comes in handy in the winter at football games too (cold/rain).
The short answer is yes, if you are using the university-provided IP’s. The easiest way for them not to see what sites you’ve been on is to use a VPN. A good VPN such as NordVPN or Surfshark will cost around $30-45 per year. Or you can use a Tor Browser, but a lot of browsing is slowed down when you use this browser. Or not use the university sites, use your own hotspot.
There are lots and lots of choices. Anker tends to make better products but more expensive.
Here are a couple that I have:
this is a monster battery, roughly the same size as an iPhone Pro Max only thicker, lasts forever before you need to charge it again. I often forget to charge my battery so this comes in handy. It can charge other devices such as your laptop and phone of course at the same time.
If you want something even more multi-use, consider the NOCO portable car battery charger , it can charge all your devices plus charge your car battery and has a flashlight. NOCO’s are usually the de facto standard for portable car battery chargers.

Sheesh I bought this for $22 3 years ago.
The festival was just this weekend, but reddit came out in force. It really made his day.
I think it's a great read with a ton of interesting stories. If you're still interested it can be bought online as well. Its available on Barnes and nobles as well as Amazon. It's a great book and buying one will make an old guy really happy!

they're kinda just a lovechild btwn a matrix and partial derivatives; if you think you'd be able to self-study multivariable derivatives and integrals and partial derivatives, you should be good; it'd def be doable but depending on how comfy you are with calc it might be a grind...you could also try and find the textbook for the class ~somehow~ and see if you can understand the gist and math behind the earlier chapters, and maybe that's a good diagnostic: https://www.amazon.com/Mathematics-Nonlinear-Programming-Undergraduate-Texts/dp/0387966145
Yes. Most UC transfer admits come from California community colleges. Each UC has agreements with each California CC about what classes will count as mandatory prerequisite courses for each major. You can go on Assist.org and look up Berkeley and, say, Diablo Valley College, which sends about 200 students to Cal every year. Put in your desired major and it gives you a list of classes you need to take. You can try to match those classes to courses at a Texas CC but it’s not certain Texas classes will count, whereas DVC ones are pre approved.
If you are really interested in a UC I recommend reading this book. She has a section on Haas for business and one on applying from another state. https://www.amazon.com/How-Transfer-California-Community-College-ebook/dp/B013FBFK46/ref=nodl_
The best one for me is AmindPDF. Up to now, that is the best I've ever used for editing pdfs.
Simple & beautiful UI and this app is filled with so much features for free. But I think they only have android and ios . Most importantly, its monthly membership is cheaper than other apps, especially adobe. I remember only 1.99$ per month for the first time. I just found this app accidentally and I'm so glad I did.
try this.. Too bad Amazon doesn’t have same day delivery on this.
They're expanding so much that bigot Milo's event got canceled. Right. You aren't ever-expanding. You're ever-decreasing. Hateful people like you will always be weak and pathetic.
>Your silly idea that cops are literally hunting down unarmed black men for sport is a good example.
That's funny, because I've seen animals hunted with more impunity than the way this guy was murdered.
ok gotcha. I use my flatbed scanner right now, but have been thinking about building a DIY scanner for a while b/c it takes so long to scan books. This looks promising and rather simple.
Practice leetcode problems on the Blind 75, say you're a junior doing 3 year bachelors on your resume (if they ask you after the internship is done, say you changed your plans), go to career fairs, and send applications to every opening you see (search for swe internships on linkedin, indeed, and handshake).
It's a numbers game, as a junior, I needed 374 applications before getting an offer, and a decent amount of them took several months to respond, so don't be worried if you don't get an offer soon.
If you want to go abroad, and omnicron doesn't screw us too badly, Berkeley has an internships abroad program.
It's extremely uncommon for you to get re-accepted for your PhD at Berkeley. At least that's what I've heard among most of my chem friends who wanted to go to grad school. this guy was my GSI one semester and I know he went to berkeley for his undergrad and grad. Other than that, I don't think there's anybody.
As a former chronic procrastinator who is now much better, I would recommend all of the above, especially creating a routine that works for me (be aware that this often takes some time)
I would also recommend setting achieveable goals at the begining of the day - making sure they are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time bound) - this can help you to focus your time more effectively and not get overwhelmed at everything you have to do.
Also if you find yourself getting easily distracted while you're trying to study, try the pomodoro technique to make concentrating more managable. I also find mindfulness techniques can help: when you find yourself getting distracted / struggling to focus / want to procrastinate while doing a task, rather than giving in, just sit with that feeling for as long as it lasts, it usually passes after a few moments and then you can get back to the task at hand.
Also, be kind to yourself - it can be difficult getting out of this kind of rutt, so take it slowly at first and don't be so hard on yourself if you don't get back to your usual productivity straight away. It often gets easier each day if you are implementing the tips from OSPF.
Good luck!

i didn't read TFA, but i think there is evidence that it could be a time bomb. if the arctic permafrost continues to melt and releases all of the methane it's holding, we might have a runaway warming event...
https://www.wunderground.com/resources/climate/melting_permafrost.asp#methane
according to that link the climate models don't even take methane hydrates into account.
Here are some of the shops that sell second hand parts. I especially recommend trying a co-op like Street Level https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=216765390488940250763.0004bf90e2d7836b18a10&msa=0&ll=37.824701,-122.241096&spn=0.157017,0.308647
The other presidential candidate, Victoria is apparently a well-documented bully both before and at Berkeley. Someone posted the Facebook post attached below in a campus organization about her because they were bullied by Victoria in high school and at Berkeley. Apparently Victoria’s twitter is a bunch of bullying too
