Remember: not all software is packaged under the name of the application.
In this case, run
apt search <name of program>
For example, you want to install Super Tux Kart, but the package isn't named "Super Tux Kart" and apt obviously can't understand what you want to install
ivan@batou:~$ apt search super tux kart Ordinamento... Fatto Ricerca sul testo... Fatto supertuxkart/xenial,now 0.9.1-3 amd64 [installato] 3D kart racing game
supertuxkart-data/xenial,xenial,now 0.9.1-3 all [installato, automatico] 3D kart racing game (data)
supertuxkart-dbg/xenial 0.9.1-3 amd64 3D kart racing game (debug)

SuperTuxCart https://supertuxkart.net/Main_Page
Neverball is a free(gpl) game from like 2002 that's very similar to the SuperMonkeyBall series in terms of gameplay and has a brutal level design (and is harder when there are some levels that are basically equal to SuperMonkeyBall, except that you have to collect stuff in order to unlock the goal)
there's also SuperTuxKart, also Free(also gpl too), a full arcade kart racing game in the gameplay style of games like Pac-Man World Rally, Crash Team Racing and Mario Kart, but with its own quirks, maps and skips. still fun to play even on time-attack mode alone.
> lso I was thinking of the possibility of a crowd sourced racing game. Is there such a project right now?
SuperTuxKart might fit, depending on exactly what you're thinking. It's an open-source cart racing game written in C++ that's been in development for 13-ish years. It's not likely to be a good choice if you're commercially-minded though, just due to licensing issues.
Linux.
But if you don't want to go that far, or even if you do, I'd suggest:
Nintendo is somewhat forced to do this. To oversimplify trademark law, if you don't protect and enforce your trademarks you lose them. E.g., if they let independent game developers use their characters in their games, it becomes harder for them to prevent a major game developer later from making Stupendous Mario Multiverse or whatever that competes against their game. Cheap knockoff versions (e.g,. a buggy ipad mario game) can hurt Nintendo's brand (just like how cheap knockoff products hurt a brand).
That said, in fan made games who really cares that the open-source alternative to Mario Kart is called SuperTuxKart with different characters centered around Tux the penguin (a linux mascot).
That said, it seems some employee used fan-created content on their website but once notified they took it down (as they should have done).
The linux penguin is just sitting in the corner waving and saying hello to anyone who walks past. If anyone cares to stay and chat, the penguin will eventually tell them of this incredibly hilarious fact: linux has a game called Super Tux Kart
I Love Gallium Os As Well, Idk about the customization, but gallium os is build on top of ubuntu x and you can run linux/gallium os on potato pc, Gallium runs minecraft 65+fps and other games you just need the knowlage try installing wine and maybe try playing this game
https://supertuxkart.net/Main_Page - Aka Mario Kart
Intel has recommended setting for the game based on your CPU/iGPU: https://gameplay.intel.com/CPUAndGameSelected/Index/124967/236676/0
Keep in mind that is for a 30fps average and based on the use of dual channel RAM. If you have single channel RAM and/or want more performance you'll need to lower the settings further. LowSpecGamer has some tweaks to help as well, Low end tweaks for Rocket League running on Intel Atom.
If you want something a little bit different, or just don't want to spend the money, give SuperTuxKart a try. It has an ice hockey-ish game mode reminiscent of RL's "Snow Day." It's free so no harm if you don't like it.
The Trackmania games maybe? They have solo w/ghost play and some original background music. The music is fairly basic techno though, nothing to write home about. You can play TrackMania Nations Forever for free to get a feel for the game and see if that's what you want before shelling out for the other titles in the series. Fun arcade racers, imo.
As far as Kart style games checkout freebies SRB2Kart and SuperTuxKart. I'm not sure how they will do with the 1GB of RAM but they are free, so no harm trying.
BZFlag - I'd recommend the "Planet-MoFo.com" server on port 4202
SuperTuxKart - you can now host your own server, and there's community provided servers, but I've never tried them
I was thinking of making some sort of Monero plugin for Supertuxkart, where you could drive around as a little Monero coin.
Maybe I should stick to schoolwork instead :L. Base code is still compiling...
Try SRB2Kart or SuperTuxKart. I'm not sure how they'll do with the nForce but they are both free so no harm trying.
Goofy fun and Free, just came out with online multiplayer - Super Tux Kart - https://supertuxkart.net/Main_Page
Main stream:
Rocket League, Crossout, DIRT 4 or Rally, F1 series up to 2015, Project Cars.
Lo busqué en Youtube y se parece caleta al Super Tux Kart que es un poco más moderno y todavía está en desarrollo si no me equivoco (aparte que es gratis).
