It's not alternate, it leads to the other two. Its additional.
Its not final, because you can continue after it. Its penultimate at best. I wouldn't call moms foot or heart final just because you have to stop there a few times.
Its not a chapter, the "chapters" are pairs of floors (basement, caves, depths, womb, god path, devil path). This is one boss, not even a whole floor. It doesn't even tell the story of the hush, it just raises far more questions.
Getting a new "chapter" like cathedral/chest, or hell/dark room, was my most anticipated feature, and there is zero new exploration associated with this.
Not cool ed, not cool.
> last week i asked the fans what minor fixes/updates they wanted to see in the next update, and i read them all (if all means the top 20 or so). a lot of the more common suggestions will be finding their way into the update.. but the one that stuck out for me the most was that “sacrifice rooms are worthless”
>this is something i agree with and again something that i felt held more weight/significance to the games theme/story due to it being the focal point to finding the lost. but alas we all know how that ended… but what to do with them now?
>on the gameplay side of things the sacrifice room was meant to be a “i got too much life” archetype, where as if you found more life than you needed you could gamble with it in said rooms… but no one does that.. why? because its too luck based with its payouts.
>well i can say this, i found a way to fix this system… but its a but of an overhaul that will need to be added into afterbirth instead of just a normal update… but it should make things a lot more interesting.
Found it, it was in the Afterbirth Update #7
> - Rebirth will only work on the NEW 3ds system. the game really needed the extra horse power the new 3ds brings with it to get it working in a way we were happy with.
According to Edmund in one of his latest posts.
You completely ignored the red glow, which got bigger with every tear fired, even the one that Edmund missed. I understand that you are just giving your idea of what the item might do, but writing "I found out what the item does" in the title is very misleading, since you didn't really find anything out, just had an idea. EDIT: In this post (http://bindingofisaac.com/post/104716763444/lets-make-a-dlc-together-part2) Edmund mentions an item which "raises your damage the more your tears hit", but he says that missing would reset the effect. My guess is that the thing in the .gif could be some variation of that.
I am not sure how to convince people to play this if they haven't already: it's a damn fine game. Lots of unlocks, the different items force you to change strategy, the difficulty/learning curve are great, the mechanics feel solid, the DLC adds a ton to the game. Honestly there is just so much depth and content, the hundreds of hours just fly by. I highly recommend this and the DLC.
Edit: for those of you who want to know more about the remake: http://bindingofisaac.com
2nd edit: for clarity, the details I mention below are for the remake of binding of isaac.
The 2 coolest features for me are local co-op, and the way items will interact differently, such as having an orbital shot + laser would create a laser field around the player, and so on.
To quote Edmund's blog: http://bindingofisaac.com/post/169521328569/a-new-years-qa
"Q: Is this really the end of Isaac? no more dlc?
A: i did say many times this was going to be the last isaac DLC.. and at the time i strongly believed it. but there seems to be something pretty cool on the horizon, its creeping up slowly.. its familiar but a bit different and its being held up by a group of people… when i squint i think i can make out a… oh sorry i gotta go, there is someone watching me in my space ship. "
I think 1:1 conversion rate for the Light Bum should be fine. Or 1.5:1 and he could also drop the Golden Hearts* if they include those.
*"golden heart pickups (when depleted you spawn a few hearts)" blog post
Tyrone promised Afterbirth+ would come to the Wii U.
That's what I call a Mom's Knife stab in the back.
This 'other console' is probably the Switch. But I don't trust him.
For fans of the series, the Afterbirth release teaser and update came out earlier today:
> The final booster is now live!
> this booster features a large number of little bits and pieces and a few big chunks if you dig around a bit… but i wont spoil the fun for anyone here. here is a short list that features no spoilers.
> 8 new mod items: (fixed up and retuned by @AdriangGray)
> Blanket - by Ratlah
> Sacrificial Alter - by Niro
> Lil Spewer - by Strawrat
> Marbles - by Amethyst
> Mystery Egg - by Strawrat
> Flat Stone - by Maddogs
> Rotten penny - by Eufuu
> Baby Bender - by Ink Tears
> 5 new enemies!
> 1 new boss!
> 64 new achievements (28 new, the rest from the switch version)
> 817 new rooms ( made by Nik @LethalLeather )
> literally 100s of fixes and improvements meticulously implemented by ( Vinh @FixItVinh ) full list HERE

> PS: booster 4 and 5 are being ported to console. im not sure when they will release but they will! stay tuned
Edit: Formatting
Not entirely sure when this happened, I only noticed today.
For context, "Daily Greed Runs" was a promised feature in Afterbirth+, listed on the Steam store page for over 8 months.
Here they are listed as a game feature in one of the last Afterbirth+ content updates, prior to launch.
Edmund on September 4, "I have no idea what happened it was on my feature list and I guess it faded away.".
Unfortunate.
Emmm... maybe I misunderstood your reply, but the "victory lap" Emund talked about is most definitely not that. He wrote in a post that (maybe) in the expantion you will be able to "replay the gain with your final items". Going to the Chest after hush is obviously not replaying whatever he meant by "gain".
EDIT: here's the post http://bindingofisaac.com/post/106554719739/lets-make-a-dlc-together-part3
"not only is rebirth a fully remodeled and revamped and greatly improved version of isaac + wrath of the lamb, but it will also feature so much content that the game will almost be doubled in terms of new enemies, items, characters, endings, secrets, rooms, chapters, challenges and a shit load of very new and unexpected additions. "

A new engine (not flash) 150+ new items, new bosses, new characters, new artstyle, multiplayer, and a shit ton of other stuff. I'm a huge BoI fan, and Rebirth (Binding of Isaac: Rebirth) is going to be fucking amazing. Come on over to /r/bindingofisaac and go to http://bindingofisaac.com/ for all the news about Rebirth.
The reason it works is because (if you'll allow me to greatly oversimplify) anything before a ?
exists to tell the website what page to give you. Everything after is extra stuff the site might like to know.
For example, if you watch any video on Youtube, you'll see that the url looks something like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=[VIDEOID]
. You can see that everything before the ?
is constant; you're always requesting /watch
. However, the YouTube servers are programmed so that when you go to /watch
, they check to see if you also sent a parameter called v
. As you can see after the question mark, you did! v=[VIDEOID]
. That's how they know which video to show you.
bindingofasaac.com (more correctly, tumblr, but domain name trickery is beyond the scope of my knowledge) isn't programmed to look for any extra parameters. When you go to http://bindingofisaac.com/?release_date_announced, this is the conversation you're having with the site:
Hello, are you bindingofisaac.com?
Yep, that's me.
Excellent! I'd like to see your home page, please.
Coming right up!
Thank you. By the way: release_date_announced
.
I don't know what that means, but here's the page you requested.
The site doesn't react at all to your last statement, and gives you the same page it would have given you either way. It could theoretically have been programmed to do something else when it received that parameter, but it was not.
Placeholder art most likely.
Also: http://bindingofisaac.com/post/104716763444/lets-make-a-dlc-together-part2
>- a usable item that makes the last tear you fired blow up into smaller tears like the sad bomb or tammys head (timed charge)
Makes the hairs on my ears stand up. Reeeaaally dark and creepy, it's perfect.
Edit: Here's Edmund's post on the Rebirth blog: http://bindingofisaac.com/post/80652188030/headphones-highly-recommended-maximum-volume
Are you referring to this post?
http://bindingofisaac.com/post/119330273474/chorus-mortis-afterbirth-update-7
He mentions that he agrees sacrifice rooms are not worth the cost, but his proposed solution would be a major overhaul to the system. Yesterday he explained on Twitter that the change was left on the cutting room floor. Tweet
Regardless of whether or not that blog post constitutes a promise, I have no reason to believe Ed is being disingenuous in saying that he planned to change sacrifice rooms but ultimately had to scrap the idea before launch. It's possible that there has been a change to them that we just haven't found yet. Remember how long it took the community to discover the luck up gained by donating to the donation machine?
As for curse rooms not worth visiting, I guess we just disagree on their usefulness.
for the lazy:
SCORING SYSTEM
"first id like to point out that the points im detailing here are most likely place holders to be edited as we continue testing… but here is the foundation of what we have currently running."
Positive points:
+200 points per floor cleared
+400 points for sheol / cathedral / chest / dark room
+666 points for boss rush / mega satan
+1 point swag bonus for each held pickup on completion/death (bombs, keys, pennies)
+??? for secret bonus points
Negative points:
-1 point per second spent playing (rewards for fast play)
-10 per hit taken from an enemy / obstacles (damage from items/donations/etc don’t count as damage) (rewards for how well you play)
-?? per item taken (still testing this but i want people to be a bit more choosy on what they take and push risk reward a bit more here)
A semi-sequel/remake of The Binding of Isaac. It's being done with a new art style, re-made in C++ (so as not to be laggy as hell), they're adding a bunch of new content and some new features like different sized rooms. It's shaping up to be awesome. There are a bunch of teasers here, and when new ones are released there's generally a discussion on /r/bindingofisaac.
Yeah, it's being built from the ground up. The original BoI is based on Flash which had a lot of limitations. There will be a discount for people who own the original though.
I think it, along with the other special floors, is way too common. Edmund originally billed them as "champion" floors, so they should be about as common as you see champion enemies so as to make them more special when they do happen, rather than having runs where nearly every floor is a champion one. Perhaps make them a bit harder/more different as well.
There should also be a version for the Cellar (and Catacombs etc.) so they're more like stuff overlayed over the existing floors rather than another one entirely. It really throws off the balance when instead of the interesting duality of, for example, Basement + Cellar, you have Basement + Cellar + Another Basement.
Finally, like the Cellar etc. they should be unlocked by something rather than appearing from the start.
There was mention pre-release of Afterbirth making sacrifice rooms more useful. I wonder if that could hint at something needed to solve this puzzle.

I don't see anything that really sticks out, but I guess it's worth considering. The way he teases the next week's item (dead eye) makes me think that could be something, but that's even more of a stretch.
You guys remember this post? When he announced the release of Rebirth, he said:
"I hope you don't get lost."
That was a huge clue regarding the Lost. So when he announces the release of Afterbirth in the summer, perhaps he'll show another clue to something we couldn't have possibly predicted?
I'll take that bet!
(And win, since Edmund mentioned in a previous post that there will be 8 new transformations :D I can't though comment on their usefulness. One will be a Mom transformation though).
People usually refer to Eden as a him because it's easier, but quoting Edmund: "see Eden isnt a man, nor are they a woman.. they just are." http://bindingofisaac.com/post/86958618769/spoiler-alert-you-unlocked-eden
Black hearts are functionally the same as soul hearts except they activate the Necronomicon effect when they're depleted. It was covered in this blog post about a month ago.
/r/bindingofisaac is a subreddit focused on a pair (The original and a remake of)^^[1] of top-down 2D dungeon crawlers about a little kid fighting his own twisted imagination for his life. The remakes's first DLC pack called Afterbirth was given a release date in this trailer and overview today. As it was a fairly well known/popular game in some circles the information shot up towards the top of the mainstream gaming subs faster than the launch of the remake did, that in turn increased traffic towards /r/bindingofisaac.
[1] The first, simply called The Binding of Isaac was a flash game that was in many areas unstable/bad. The remake, called Rebirth, rebuilt the game from the ground up with much more content than ever could be fit into a flash app and improved mechanics.
Work on your aim, Isaac.
After posting this, I realized that there are already a few comics about Baby Long Legs, so why not have one with Crazy Long Legs?
EDIT: If you don't know what a Friend Ball is, then you probably haven't seen the recent Afterbirth update.
Actually, for the "core" characters, Edmund has said the following:
Isaac = Fighter
Maggy = Cleric
Eve = Druid
Cain = Thief
Judas = Mage
Samson = Berserker
It doesn't appear that ??? is ever given an official class, but I see a lot of people making him a Necromancer or just a zombie/monster.
Lazarus could be an Alchemist (starts with pill, and just has a "medical" kind of feel to him).
Azazel is probably just a Demon/Devil-type character.
Eden... not sure what to make of this one. They could simply be a "glitch." Also, this character is genderless
The Spoiler? I wish it was considered a ghost-type... Then physical attacks would mean nothing.
Which is why the remake, Rebirth, is entirely pixel graphics, among so much more.
Check out the Dev blog:
They love posting all sorts of information like animated gifs of new abilities combos etc that are really cool.
Yes, it's a feature Edmund described in this update post for Rebirth.
>but on top of all of this im also now able to make anything in the room have a more rare alt to it. a good example being this room, there is a very small chance those metal bricks turn into rocks so the black heart becomes accessible..
Stuff in the rooms are supposed to have a weighted chance to be one thing or another; you can see this if you decompile the stb files (Basement Renovator represents this by stacking them on top of each other). Unfortunately the feature has never worked, ever since Rebirth came out, only one of the things ever shows up. Presumably Edmund doesn't know it's broken, because he designed a bunch more rooms that are supposed to do this in Afterbirth (e.g. that one secret room with the Mom's Hand? The hand is supposed to be one of many options including a battery, an I AM ERROR guy and Rag Man).
I really wish they'd fix this because it's an interesting mechanic and could vary things up a lot.
There are new items as well, those are mentioned on the official blog. I'm mostly focusing on the fixes and changes since you can experience most of the new content by playing the game.
>I've seen some well done mock-ups of a "kid friendly" version
you may be talking about the april fools day prank Ed did this year where he said he would be censoring Isaac to get it on the 3ds, which included nudity removed, god removed and replaced with a dog, and switched christian references to Scientologist references.
Look at this Q&A by Edmund McMillen, developer and artist behind original Isaac. He wanted to do pixelated look in Flash, but didn't because of lack of time and ability on his part, witch I think was a good call. He did what I'm advocating for in the first place - instead of going for unnecessary pixel aesthetic he went with simpler yet unique and memorable artstyle. And then he went and did pixel art anyway. Witch doesn't look horrible by any means, I just don't think the change was warranted. All those efforts that went into creating different style haven't paid off. I think the game would have looked much better if they just upped art quality and ditched pixels and lighting system. A lot of people still prefer old Isaac's look.
Honestly, don't let the creepiness of the game get to you. It's a really great game with lots of cool things to discover about it.
Pulled from his latest blog post: > this year will be a year of the monthly “Booster pack”!
> as you may have assumed, using mods wont allow for you to unlock new game content / get achievements. but we have come up with a way to bring the best mod content officially into the game via mini monthly updates to AB+ or “booster packs”.
> (ill probably also join in the fun a little.. honestly i came up with a few neat item ideas during the last week of crunch that i need to see in game.. so maybe this whole “letting go” thing is a lie!)
> so all you out there will get to experience a year of free user made content officially added, and all you modders will get a chance brag to the internet about your amazing design skills and unlock the biggest and most sought after achievement in Isaac to date, the “MY WORK IS OFFICIALLY IN ISAAC” achievement!
I know this is a joke, but Edmund's implied that they would never do that. In their April Fool's anti-political correctness post, they include "Isaac is now 18" as a satirical update.
http://bindingofisaac.com/post/124037931109/more-like-3d-yes-afterbirth-update-15
>you can draw and take notes on the 2nd screen around the map so you can remember to go back to specific rooms, or just draw wieners.
HE KNOWS YOU
I think there is already a cluster bomb thingy already plannedd (confirmed?) for Afterbirth. I don't know if it's with troll bombs only or not. <source>
The only thing we have to go off of is the quote in Edmund's blog: http://bindingofisaac.com/post/169521328569/a-new-years-qa
> It was never announced for Xbox ever...
Literally one of the first AB+ blog posts.
and another one and another one...
> the point of Greed Mode wasn't to be, well, greedy? Getting as many items as possible and see how crazy a run can be?
Yes, it's to be greedy, but you're thinking of it in the wrong sense. The point of Greed mode is to continue and see how many waves you can handle in a row before you have to press the button just because you cannot manage the large number of enemies. Basically, the greedier you are at handling multiple waves at one go, the more money you get.
In development, expected to come out around the middle of the year, June/July time.
Not much to show for at the moment but you can expect teasers constantly here:
Quoting from the site:
"Solid Black = fades in and out of visibility / item drop = red chest
Yellow = double walk/shoot speed / item drop = undisclosed new pickup item
Red = very high hp / item drop = heart
Grey = blows up when killed / items drop = bomb
Green = leaves green creep under itself / item drop = pill"
Ninja edit: http://bindingofisaac.com/
I believe you are referencing a tweet made by Edmund in which he says once it's ported to AB+ he was thinking about adding it to the game because so much is there.
Edit: he says "bring the mod officially to afterbirth"
(https://twitter.com/edmundmcmillen/status/810209436211912704) [source mobile attempt]
Also in this blog post he says he considers adding his favorite fan made content into the default game every month http://bindingofisaac.com/post/154255262019/for-those-of-you-who-are-blind-the-binding-of
the biggest hurdle for this is most of the major changes to Antibirth come from additional code injected into the game. I believe it's C++ meanwhile AB+ mods will require Lua. Most declarative languages are just a difference in syntax and memory usage, however teaching the entire dev team Lua to port their already hard worked mod again will take some time.
Dunno.
Afterbirth is a paid DLC.
Afterbirth+ is another paid DLC that also has modding locked behind it. You also need to own Afterbirth to get Afterbirth+ as well.
Indeed, that's what it sounded like in Edmund's post about it (he even says "Burning Basement/Cellar"). It kind of seems like they ran out of time to make alts for both floor types and just made them more common to compensate.
They also seem overly common, I had a run where all but one floor was an alt, and this is on Normal. Edmund described them as "champion variations", which implies they'd be relatively rare. (It also bothers me that there's a Burning Basement, Flooded Caves, etc. but no equivalent for the Cellar, Catacombs, etc. It throws the duality out of whack.)
i have no clue if this was tested yet, but i'll put it out there.
we can be almost certain this secret is done with judas, given the clues on display. there's heavy emphasis on generosity, which is the opposite of greed, and edmund's mention of microtransactions and the character being the [Keeper](/spoiler) alludes to the shop. "look to la luna" obviously refers to the moon card aka secret rooms. finally, tyrone's clues with the stream today (ending at 10:09, being 109 minutes long, and mentioning it explicitly as a police code) imply suicide
my theory is you have to suicide king in the secret room of the shop floor on greed mode with judas to unlock the blue womb, a third path alongside the cathedral/chest and sheol/dark room, as mentioned here ("new alt path and game ending"). beating this floor unlocks [the Keeper character](/spoiler)
edit: the stuff about slowing down, stop digging and live, and bedrooms are red herrings, built specifically to confuse
He talked about this challenge in one of the updates. Apparently every floor will be XL with the maximum amount of rooms possible. Let me see if I can find it...
EDIT: Found it!
He's confirmed that there will be no censorship, but on April Fool's Day, when BoI was first confirmed for 3DS, Wii U, and Xbox One, he posted a fake censorship prank. (Isaac would have a leaf over his crotch, and all Christian symbols would be replaced with Scientologist symbols.) Edit: http://bindingofisaac.com/post/115192982234/rebirth-coming-to-3ds-wiiu-and-xbox1 Link to blog post.
> You can't normally see the post tags on the main blog posts.
How are you supposed to find the tags? Is it something only people with tumblr accounts can do?
edit: Somebody already answered this, my bad. Let me quote them here.
>On the blog itself you can't see the tags for some reason, but if you click embed it shows you the blog post without the blog theme so it shows the tags too at the bottom of the post.
Thanks /u/Shinenite.
On the official blog for The Binding of Isaac, for the post about The Forgotten Update, one of the tags says "#see you in a few months" which is a strong indicator that Edmund and friends do have something in store for Isaac's future. On the New Years Q&A post, this is Edmund's response to the final question; "Q: Is this really the end of Isaac? no more dlc? A: i did say many times this was going to be the last isaac DLC.. and at the time i strongly believed it. but there seems to be something pretty cool on the horizon, its creeping up slowly.. its familiar but a bit different and its being held up by a group of people… when i squint i think i can make out a… oh sorry i gotta go, there is someone watching me in my space ship." This is a very strong indicator that what's in store for Isaac's future may be much larger than what was ever intended. Of course, what exactly is in store is completely unknown and Edmund has been known to stretch the truth but I feel that it's safe to say that more item mods being added officially isn't quite out of the question.
That the daily run's 'goal' would be for the player to beat Mom. Ed has talked in one or two of his blog posts that different daily runs will have different criteria, this one here explains this a little bit.
Pretty cool (I upvoted the post) but you can just go to http://bindingofisaac.com and scroll to the first afterbirth update. But hey for lazy people (like myslef) its another way to accses them.
BUT why does it not have the last like 4 updates?
EDIT: He fixed it because I mentioned it and now I look like an idiot ;P
Edmund offhandedly mentioned an [http://bindingofisaac.com/post/126958800209/combo-breakerafterbirth-update-20]("awesome trailer") in the latest Afterbirth update, will you have anything to do with that?
EDIT: The formatting for embedded links just refuses to work right now, sorry
binding of isaac: rebirth will have an interesting take on local co-op.
The pre-release sales seem to be doing pretty well so far...
>"our 1st 3 days of preorder sales have been mind blowing.. i cant talk numbers but i can say that we sold more than triple what Dead Rising 3 sold on their launch day.. and that is astounding."
http://bindingofisaac.com/post/97013539659/rebirth-gets-flashy
It's up until the game releases, confirmed by Edmund:
Just incase you want to be even more excited, here's some more rebirth hype:
In Edmund's blog post that first revealed Apollyon and the Void, it was shown that the character would start with lower stats than Isaac, but the item would be a 4-charge. This would have made Apollyon runs a bit more interesting (This passive is pretty good, but I really need a stats up soon!). It would have been more of a race to boost your stats with Void, and really make one think about which passives were worth it for their unique effects. And with the Void's reduced charge, you'd have more opportunities to improve yourself if you found a bunch of items on a floor. It was a good balance, and actually made Apollyon distinct.
Or Isaac's face is replaced with Edmund's. Nicalis has clearly already worked out how to do it, so it would be relatively easy implementation.
There was never a set release, AFAIK the most recent info we have for it is "as soon as they get time" from Afterbirth Update 6
I wholeheartedly endorse the Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. It's as fast or slow paced as you make it, and it saves your progress as you go.
I also second Super Meat Boy and 10 Second Ninja.
afterbirth is currently in development
from the sticky:
> Afterbirth is the name of the upcoming DLC for the game which is estimated to come out mid-2015. You can find all information you need to know over on the development blog at http://bindingofisaac.com
according to "The birth of Rebirth" post a while back, there will be 4,294,967,295 seeds. thats 32^8 - 1.
0 - 9 A - Z, "except the letters I, O, U, and V—because those look too much like other letters."
also they took 4 out to only have 32 possible characters, making it a nice round number considering thats 2^5, and then that : 32^8. ( minus one )
http://bindingofisaac.com/post/93169913069/the-birth-of-rebirth
>unless Epic Fetus is still set at 80 damage rendering this post pointless
nailed it.
Also, I believe we've seen what Brimstone + Mom's Knife looks like. I'll try to find it after I post this but I think it just shoots a bunch of knives.
edit: Yes, I was right. Here it is. And it's from this post.
Actually, I think you may be onto an item Edmund hinted at 3 months ago.
Quote - "but seriously save your credit card for the store… (only the rebirth devs will get this joke, but youll get it too eventually…)"
Binding of Isaac is getting a remake. It will look a lot better and will have tons of new content. All in all it will be a ton better in every aspect because it is not made in flash like the original. Here is the site if you want to check on the teases so far. Telling you this so maybe you'll give the new one a second chance, it's an awesome game IMO, comparable with Spelunky.
Explain THIS line from Isaac's blog post (http://bindingofisaac.com): "Q: Is this really the end of Isaac? no more dlc? A: i did say many times this was going to be the last isaac DLC.. and at the time i strongly believed it. but there seems to be something pretty cool on the horizon, its creeping up slowly.. its familiar but a bit different and its being held up by a group of people… when i squint i think i can make out a… oh sorry i gotta go, there is someone watching me in my space ship. "
I mean, I do know Edmund himself confirmed that Antibirth isn't going to be compatible during his April AMA on Twitter, but he ALSO said that there would be Greed Dailies, Bi-Monthly Booster Packs, and no enemies added in Booster Pack #5, so he's probably an incredibly unreliable source and I just disproved my own argument.
He is an official character that was added in booster pack #5. Ed has said that boosters 4 and 5 will be ported to console, although there is no release date as of now.
> The expansion will be: $9.99.
> but for the first week of release people who own afterbirth will get afterbirth+ for a mere $6.66!
From the blog.
Oh, and as for the Map? I believe what we are looking for is hiding somewhere in this daily map. I don't have the time right now to watch any gameplay back, but there may be a clue here. Also, I want to point one other thing out. Way back, in one of his blog posts with a secret image, there was that EXACT sprite of the lost at the bottom of this page. Just above is a gif with the bats, and the caption says to look closely, and you might see something. In the gif, at the top of the room, there looks to be almost a set of one eye faces pointing towards the middle. And just below the gif, is a clicky question mark with the hidden image. ITS A MAP. A VERY SPECIFIC ROOM WITH SPECIFIC HIGHLIGHTING ON TILES.
I should have given more context.
The image from Isaac cheat sheet explains how the item works now.
The gif is from a blog post of Edmund, which shows an old version of the item, and in my opinion it worked better.
They changed how the item worked 11 days before release.
> the Polaroid has been now moved up to an item
Implying it wasn't an item before.
Anyways. I don't say they are not items. I don't say they are items. To me they are all things that do stuff in a game I play. Hell, if you want a fucking mulliboom is an item that grants you negative health.
I only say that the OP, who said we were promised 120 items and didn't get 120 items was wrong, since in the 120 statement Saltmund included trinkets.
Everything beyond that statement is totally irrelevant.
There are 4 billion (4294967295 (2^32 - 1)) possible seeds, not 800 billion. (source) Not every string of 8 characters is a valid seed, if you just type random garbage into the seed entry it will almost never work.

Nope, time is certainly being taken into account. It's one of the variables that dictates your final score.
It seems as though the formula changed from "1 second of play time = -1 point" to "3 seconds of playtime = -1 point", going by the elapsed time in Tyrone's run compared to his time penalty.
There were many rough stats given out in the first Afterbirth update.

Yeah Afterbirth will contain in-game daily runs, scored in a (subject to change) specific way.
When that comes out, the link in the top left might disappear, but I'll leave the site and bot running for the (probably few) who doesn't get Afterbirth.
That's fine, but I think Edmund has met his cameo needs with Ultra Pride no? (nice beard though) I thought this was a nice way to reference another franchise.
He liked (see High Rule) the Link Sword Shield challenge for Afterbirth.
The game sold 2 million copies as of over 2 years ago, and that is what I got by putting in 4 seconds of google. I am sure you can find more up to date numbers.
It is not obscure in the least.
Edit: A bit more research. Latest numbers I could find from a reputable source was from the creators own mouth. As of 7 months ago it sold "well over 3 million copies".
As for BOI:RE it sold "More than 3x the amount as Dead Rising 3 on their launch date, on BOI:RE's first 3 days of <strong>preorder</strong> sales" now I am not sure what that number is because frankly I didn't bother to look that hard but according to the first result google gave me DR3 sold 1 million copies on the first month.
>first lets get the facts out of the way about my april 1st post.
>The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth IS FOR SURE coming to the new 3ds, WiiU and Xbox1 in the next few months.
>there will be no content changes to the game whatsoever, it will be released as it did on pc, uncensored, as it should be.

On the blog itself you can't see the tags for some reason, but if you click embed it shows you the blog post without the blog theme so it shows the tags too at the bottom of the post.
[Fire Mind](#firemind) this was my 1st item(I was happy since it was ovb. from the hype of †, but I then didn't know why I was taking explosion damage for no reason.
The game was still out and I was one of the NO WIKI people
If you mean Edmund, then yeah, he has
The Cursed! challenge was from someone on this subreddit, and Edmund wrote on his blog here of items he liked that he saw from the subreddit
There actually will be a hat! It still might not be worth it since you would be able to buy the horns off of someone cheaper (in metal, keys, etc). Mods would be one of the biggest reasons someone would buy it on PC instead.
usually in letters on the blog posts.

In this post there is a 3 a D and an s that all link to a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSiZVruHA54 that looks like it has a 3D filter or something over it.
I think the fact that he can make extremely rare rooms, rare alts to individual rooms and rooms that don't have to be accessible through all 4 doors will help with variety.
> Q: is Afterbirth+ ever coming out on Xbox1?
> A: yes, i can officially say that Afterbirth+ is in development and will release on Xbox1!
Also Here; in an AMA on reddit <amonth ago:
> Afterbirth + for xbox? Are my dreams crushed or should I keep asking?
> ive been told nicalis still wants to do this and is currently looking for a programmer with experience to help out. thats all i know, i really dont deal with this side of dev.
> behind the scenes it looks like this, i design, direct and draw mockups for everything then i playest and tune as we go, and tyrone figures out platforms to sell it on that are financially viable, im down with whatever platforms he wants to release on but have no control over anything specific when it comes to console ports
http://bindingofisaac.com/post/143043162269/lets-get-to-it
No, i totally get why you're asking. Ive just had that screencap saved on my phone for awhile for some reason lol.
Anyway, granted this is an old post, so things may have changed, but that's what everyone is mad about: the fact that they won't own up to it if they did change their minds, and are just ignoring the Xbox community. Sure we dont take up the majority of all Isaac fans but like....we exist. A little acknowledgement would be nice.
Actually, the stickers AND the manual are for the launch copies only. Once they sold out, only the actual game will be in the box.
As for the price, I think theres an actual difference between Afterbirth and Afterbirth+
REF: http://bindingofisaac.com/post/157494348814/whats-in-the-box2-take-2
And as I already pointed out, that was a mistake on the dev's side, as it has been stated that the launch discount would apply only to those owning Afterbirth before the launch, with the best example being here.
Afterbirth+ will not be free.
>I’ve heard about Afterbirth+, will it be free?
It will not be free, it will be a paid DLC and will require Rebirth and Afterbirth to purchase.
One of two possibilities:
1) We can do anything because of full Lua support.
2) We can't do some thing because Lua isn't fully supported, and we've been lied to.
I have some serious doubt it's the latter because of posts like this.
Hell, even with just the room editor you could remove current rooms from the base game, from what Nicalis has said.
I think the nail in the coffin was said all those (nearly 11) months ago:
>[You can] make a whole new Isaac or–hell, even an entirely new game that ISN’T Isaac.
Yeah, here's the blog post I mentioned: http://bindingofisaac.com/post/95782104184/9-lives
And reading it back again after a year, looks like the item was maybe already designed but Ed chose that time to reveal it, so maybe OP is right, who knows
here's the changelog of the new update
and here is all we know about the upcomming mini-DLC afterbith+:
