You're probably thinking of Classicboy, but you're better off with either Retroarch or with other standalone emulators. Classicboy hasn't been updated since 2014, and emulation has come a good way since then.
As /u/IganSchacht said, check out the wiki at EoA, it's got everything you'll need to get started.
Never heard of classic boy but the gesture controls sound interesting. Have you tried Retroarch? it can run the same and more systems than classic boy and the emulation is better. Some people have a hard time setting it up so I can help you with that. Btw link to classic boy for those interested: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.portableandroid.classicboyLite
My gf is a big n64 fan so I installed this.

Then put a bunch of roms on a flash drive and copy them over.
Or there is this. Haven't played though.
Just a random side note for anyone reading to say there's an emulator app on android called classicboy that's quite good, can emulate ps1, n64 and Sega games

Oh it's not really difficult!
It's an all in one app that can emulate multiple old-gen games. I don't know if it's on the App store though, sorry :/
The game might need to be unzipped. Its game file is a .bin game so you might need to unzip it. To do this, you might need an app, so I recommend "RAR", from RARLAB. It's pretty easy to use too.
Open the emulator you downloaded, and launch the .bin file from there
Enjoy!
Today's mobile devices can all launch the game without issue or lag, so don't worry about that!
If you have any questions, feel free to ask :)
If you don't want to configure Retroarch and can't run Lemuroid because you are on Android 5, then may I make the recommendation to try ClassicBoy.
ClassicBoy is a multi-system emulator which hasn't been updated since 2013, which is why I usually don't recommend it to people but MegaDrive is one of the systems it emulates and will work on Android 5.
It also is easy to set up, the only thing you really need to do is add SegaCD bios files should you wish to play games from that addon.
Since everyone already recommend Drastic I'll recommend my favorite GBA emulator (I didn't see it mentioned at least).

ClassicBoy is my favorite and it also has the ability to emulate a lot of older platforms.
Here’s a free emulator you can try, the more popular ones cost between $2-$5 usually but I thought you might like to try it for free

I know this is a wiki how article but it does explain the process quite well for a beginner

Here’s where to download roms, it looks outdated but it gets the job done

I hope that helps
I use classic boy
another android option is classicboy, its simple to use and works well for a bunch of systems emulated. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.portableandroid.classicboyLite&hl=en
There is more emus that work other then snes and gba,i tried gpemu chrome app,it supports nes, snes, gameboy and gameboy advance https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/gpemu/jhficiigpnhhaojldmanflihieepanbb?utm_source=chrome-app-launcher-info-dialog ,there is also a arcade emu chrome app called robby roto and friends, alot of arcade roms work with no issue AND its offline as well https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/robby-roto-and-friends-vi/kcfbijoldkenmemnbbkjnpdhnijgahck?utm_source=chrome-app-launcher-info-dialog .
If you want n64 emu then you need to convert a android app called classicboy https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.portableandroid.classicboyLite ,it works and runs at full speed<you will need to configure the keyboard tho>,it has compatibility issues with some games tho and its the only one i know of that works.Only the n64 part of that app seems to run, every other system crashes at start.
I came across a nintendo DS emu that works but its slow even on my hp 14 second generation chromebook http://www.foxinflame.tk/blog/2015/10/chromebook-tutorial-nds-emulator/
There are also sega emus in the playstore that work, just try each and im sure you will find one<i ran a few that work great>.
The only one i couldnt get working was saturn/dreamcast/and ps1.
Your welcome.
