New, beautifully simple Pomodoro (productivity) app created by /u/adrcotfas. AMOLED interface and settings to disable sound/vibration and WiFi when active timer. And it is adfree and opensource.
What you do in those fifteen minutes matters.
Cut out fb or whatever when revising and install an app like Goodtime - chunking revision and having regular breaks makes it much more bearable.
> alarms on my phone that go off every 30 minutes
If you haven't tried them, this is almost exactly what Pomodoro timers do, except they also have a break built in.
When I'm going to work on one thing for a while, I use Goodtime with its default settings: 25 minutes of work followed by a 5 minute break. The explicit break reminds me to get up, walk around a bit, get some water... etc. Moreover, since I get an alert once the 5 minutes are up, I don't have to worry about being distracted during the break. I've found this works for most of the individual focused work I need to do, except for tasks where I really get in the zone (in which case I just stop using the app).
Thank you.
Looks like in my phone icons it says productivity. I had it for a while and forgot it was called Goodtime before current app name which is long.
I'm not sure if it is in the apple store, I assume yes, but I use an android.
In play store it can be found as "Minimalist Pomodoro Timer - Goodtime Productivity"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apps.adrcotfas.goodtime
Hope that helps. :)
You'll find a pie chart in version 2.1.10 of Goodtime.
BTW, the pie chart is useless without the Pro version which unlocks labels. If you want it for free, you can get it from F-Droid fully unlocked.
Disclaimer: I'm the developer and v2.1.10 was uploaded earlier. It may take some time until it's live.
Goodtime
An open-source productivity timer with minimalist interface, labels, statistics and more.
There's an IAP for extra features on Google Play but you could download it from F-Droid fully unlocked or get the source code from GitHub and build it yourself.
You could have just told us you made it, the way you worded the post makes it sound a bit disingenuous.
That aside I like the neat look. I've used similarly simple timer Goodtime, although it's not quite as minimalistic.
Does the the timer keep repeating the work/break cycle automatically? Does it have the long break after 3 short ones?
I need as few distractions as possible, so I set all notifications to minimal or none so I can focus.
I don't use this app anymore since I don't need pomodoro timers to manage my time, but this is a really nice, minimalist timer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apps.adrcotfas.goodtime
I always keep slack and outlook on my laptop on the side and have them in separate desktops so I don't see notifications when I'm using the screen for other things. They're always my farthest left window so I can get to them easily with a swipe gesture.
I keep my main focus on my main monitor, usually a full screen vscode split into two internal windows. I then keep the primary context in a browser on my side monitor.
If I'm on meds, distractions aren't hard to deal with and I can comfortably ignore them. Without meds, even my setup is not 100% at prevent distractions. So it sounds to me you're either undiagnosed or diagnosed and not on meds.
I highly recommend getting on meds.
Okay, so I tried some apps and this one works without any integration but yeah its perfectly fine for me. Also its open-source and have minimal controls and app too is very lightweight so yep.

Thanks :)
a different timing app / system that's been working great for me is the Pomodoro Method: set a timer for 25 mins and work uninterrupted that time, no email, calls, texts, or in your case, browsing off-topic items, then take a 5-minute break, ideally away from the computer to move your body and change your eye focus distance. Then back to work! Every 4 work blocks take a longer 15 minute break, and perhaps after 8 take an even longer break, as for lunch. The simple time blocking app I use (which turns off phone notifications during work blocks) is Goodtime Productivity Timer.
I use apps like Goodtime to alert me every 30 or 52 minutes. Helps keep track of time like when on your phone or doing projects.
Think it's been 1hr? Nope, it's been 5 hrs. Regular chimes just help to to remind me to not stay too long on one particular task.

Pomodoro-like timer, free and open source. It just works.
GoodTime is one of my favourites, and it should have all the features you want
Goodtime is a pomodoro timer for your phone. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apps.adrcotfas.goodtime&hl=en_US
It has statistics and tags which is useful to keep track of when you have done productive sessions and what you did.
Ich hatte mal Goodtime installiert
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apps.adrcotfas.goodtime
Sounds like you are looking for something like a pomodoro timer. I personally don't use one, but this seems like it would fit your needs. Goodtime
Sounds like you want something like Goodtime or Smarter Time
Last week I released a major update for my first Android app initially created in 2016, a minimalist but powerful productivity timer (Goodtime).
The source code is on GitHub and here are some promo codes for the full version:

I'm not sure if this is quite the same thing, but I get overwhelmed by the feeling that I have too much left to do in a period of time (you mentioned 13 days left for you - I'm in the same boat with a course I'm taking).
What I do that really helps me is I pick one thing, only one thing, and I work on it for 20 mins. Then I take a 5 min break, and repeat. Every once in a while I take a longer break (e.g. to get food).
I feel like I can do anything for 20 mins; it's just 20 mins. Makes the monolithic block of "work that has to be done" much more manageable.
(For more info check out https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomodoro_Technique and I use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apps.adrcotfas.goodtime&hl=en_US )
I used this app and set it to 30 min work 5 min break.
You'll find that you can work longer if you pace yourself
I use Goodtime. It's very simple and has all the settings I need. If you want one with more options, incluind specifying types of work (which I could never bother to do), try Clearfocus.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apps.adrcotfas.goodtime
This is my favourite.
I use Goodtime
I find it fully customizable, and minimalistic.
After the holidays I have to take on my projects again and that means also taking on the helpless search for a good Pomodoro app. I've tried almost every app available on the Play Store and all of them either
Have an awful, hideous design and overall UX.
Lack basic stats about pomodoros done daily or weekly or anything of that nature
Are awfully coded, keep the phone awake the entire time or drop from memory unexpectedly because it doesn't set the correct priority.
So I'd really appreciate any suggestions, especially from fairly recent apps. My current best compromise is Goodtime app but it only lets you count your current streak and you have to manually reset it every time. Before that, Forest was my champ but sadly it turned out to have issue number 3.
PS: If you haven't already, you should really try out the Pomodoro Technique to get shit done. I was awful with procrastination but now I get by just fine thanks to it.
Forest is good, but Goodtime is better.
Lisäksi suosittelisin Mafyn juttuja, niillä on tosi hyviä kertausmateriaaleja kirjotuksiin.
Download this and use Pomodoro Technic.
This one is great. Minimalist. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apps.adrcotfas.goodtime
Use a scheduling app that notifies you to take 5min breaks after a 25min sessions. This allows you to stay determined, since that's where you feel you have difficulty in. During the 5min break take a pee break, look outside the windows, go to the terrace, just try to become free of the course for a while. Focus on something like your long forgotten ambition to become the best computer engineer or your world famous application.
then come back. And work on those ambitions.
Goodtime is there aswell. Android only i think.

There is a great open source Pomodoro app called Goodtime
Mijn ervaring is exact hetzelfde.
>
> - App: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apps.adrcotfas.goodtime&hl=en_US

> - Uitleg: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLkOZhROvA4
>

> - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeItAd9Z6Mo

>

I use Goodtime. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apps.adrcotfas.goodtime). Should fit your needs perfectly. Also it is open source, for free as in free beer and free of ads.
I've been using this Pomodoro android app at work and it definitely helps with concerntration:

You can use "continuous mode" while setting work time to the minimal, that way you can count on the extra time
