...what? You mean what's the best application for watching TV? An emulator is a program which interprets computer code for another computer.
Watching TV doesn't need an emulator. As for an app for watching TV, check this one out:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.iptvremote.android.iptv
IPTV https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.iptvremote.android.iptv&hl=en_US
or IPTV Pro from the same developer
I have an Android TV 9.0 and I use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.iptvremote.android.iptv&hl=en_US
I use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.iptvremote.android.iptv which has casting enabled. That said, I don't think that Chromecast deals with some of the formats from the service I use.
You can use IPTV app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.iptvremote.android.iptv&hl=en and Favorite your channels
This is the one I have been using in the mobile for years: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.iptvremote.android.iptv
Not very nice looking but on the phone usability is the most important factor for me
To Play Tv channels I suggest: For Windows 10 UWP App: MyIPTV Player https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/myiptv-player/9pjj2nmbf0tr For Android IPTV app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.iptvremote.android.iptv&hl=en_US
If you are using VLC to watch TV on your PC, Tablet, or phone, then this app is for you. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.iptvremote.android.iptv&hl=en_US Please do not knock it until you have tried it. Go to the top and add your M3U file.
On pc i prefer Vlc you should enable repeat option i think and try also to set buffer size higher a little bit but If you are using Android just install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.iptvremote.android.iptv and MX player from play store and load playlists from posts in and enjoy https://www.freeiptv.life/
I wanted something like this app. That I could put my channel list (with EPG) and have an organization by categories, I do not think VLC could do that.
I'm using this app ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.iptvremote.android.iptv ) I'm having no issues with it
You can select multiple video players, I'm using mx player because it double the max volume which is something I find useful because of the speaker I'm using, previously I used vlc but it usually feels like it buffers every minute Previous to that I was using ss iptv but it crashes every now and then and it reset the Playlist 2 times and my favorites aprox 4 times, it was annoying
My friend streams the video from his HTC android phone to his Smart TV using this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.iptvremote.android.iptv&hl=es
And the native video player that comes with his phone. I'm guessing you would be able to do it as well to stream from your phone to Chromecast
Im not very familiar with firestick, but im assuming you can install android apps on it?
In that case you don't really need kodi. Just this android app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.iptvremote.android.iptv&hl=en
Open your m3u list with it , go to settings in the IPTV app, set your player to VLC. To loop vlc while watching a stream, again im not sure how you do it on firestick but on my nvidia shield i just press up on the remote and you should see the loop option appear, click on it once to have it loop the stream.
Does this work with regular IPTV clients on Android? I have AndroidTV built into all my TV's and I'd love to just use something like this client for it.
edit: I know there is the STB Emulator but that does not work well on AndroidTV at all. If someone could try the above client I would be eternally grateful.

Just download any IPTV app from the play store and add the fluxus playlist. E.g. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.iptvremote.android.iptv
Or maybe this one? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.iptvremote.android.iptv
I have been using this one for m3u lists:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.iptvremote.android.iptv&hl=en
It supports "system select" so you can use use ViMu or MRMC as well as MX player. VLC fails in my streams.
An app "launcher" that is pretty good is Hal launcher. It supports URL shortcuts if you Sideload a browser too. Very customizable. Fugly icon. If you have hal launcher in your Amazon cloud for touch devices it needs to be deleted for it to show up in apps and recents.
Edit: link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.i.akihiro.halauncher&hl=en
Mizuu is very nice for SMB shares movies and tv shows. UPnP discover only works for wifi connections. Play through external player like MX player or ViMu. Supports trakt, which I have never tried.
