I've had good results with NordVPN, if anything doesn't work just try tweaking the settings a bit, changing servers and server locations, older servers could be blacklisted so go with newer ones instead (the ones with bigger numbers).
Why can't you install NordVPN on the shield and set it to Auto Start on ethernet? That way it will always turn on when connected to ethernet. You can further enhance it by adding trusted apps that don't need VPN (like Netflix, Prime VIdeo, etc...). I use this setup on my Shield and it works like a charm.
If your provider allows M3u files and VLC, buy a Chromecast for 30 quid and cast from a laptop or PC to the TV via this. On the pc/laptop sign upto a Vpn service. I use NordVPN. Got a great yearly deal in black Friday for £50. Also it can be shared with 3 other friends to bring the cost down some more.
I'm using NordVPN in the UK, There has been a lot of blocking going over the past week. Seems they are stepping said Nordvpn worked like a charm, connected to UK servers. I'm with vermin btwI haven't heard of any UK ISP' blocking VPN use yet so i don't think its that. What VPN services are you using, free VPNs aren't good at all, very limited. what ISP are you with?
But your Internet Providers are different and you might be throttled (they're cutting down your speeds so you stop doing what you're doing). Like someone recommended, get a VPN, most of them have free trials or huge discounts - try NordVPN, Private, Express or any other
Previously i had used Tivimate app, too many buffering issue
Currently, testing OTT Navigator app, much more stable than Tivimate,
You can add up to 3 provider (xtream-codes setup , m3u file, or m3u url)
This app has some premium feature nice: preview channel, create group, hide channel, voice search channel, zap by numberpad from remote,....
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=studio.scillarium.ottnavigator
As a lurker on this sub this is my time to shine, what this sub really is about is OTT services providers, albeit you receive a TV signal is done via a public connection, video broadcasting thru Multicast on a closed network (such as a condo or a hotel or even a ISP can provide this kind of service) is what professional call IPTV, you need to use real equipment such as a UDP/RTP broadcaster and Level 2 switches, IGMP routing, etc... and of course a IPTV receiver such as a decoding box or directly on TV (I have a Samsung Program to test this I'm working on the webOS version)
Most of the providers listed on this sub are directly HTTP public connections (OTT) via a 3mu8 file where they make reference to .TS files, most of the real IPTV providers deliver only a list of URLs like this one rtp://@239.0.0.1:1234
now the question about the UDP to HTTP is not enabled on the app, is a daemon that need to be installed on a PC or router like udproxy, udproxy has support on openWRT check out if your router supports openWRT

>Real-Debrid gets mentioned a lot and seems a requirement for many addons. However, I see various other options, e.g. AllDebrid etc. Is there any advantage to using more than one? I'm not asking for one to be recommended over another, just whether they all do the same thing or not.
It’s my understanding that they all do the same thing.
>Once I have chosen one, does it get Re-Authorised centrally or does it need doing for each add-on? Should VPN be on or off when I authorise? Are there specific NordVPN servers that should be favourited?
It’s needed for each addon. VPN makes no difference because the app generates a code that you enter on the web page of the provider.
>Final stupid question: What is the difference between what I can get with an universal resolver and an IPTV sub. Should the latter be more reliable streams?
IPTV subs are mostly used for live streams and are generally better quality (provider dependant) than free streams.
If you’re looking for movies or TV series, a Plex or Emby share would be a better option than an IPTV sub. There are subreddits for both (/r/plex & /r/emby for general stuff and /r/plexshares & /r/embyshares for shares).
I used a free android app called web alert:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.webalert&hl=en_GB
and monitored the page that shows the stock levels for Eternal:
https://eternaltv.net/billing/cart.php?gid=2
Good luck
I can certainly try.
ElevenSports Taiwan:
Signed up to elevensports taiwan using NordVPN (there may well be lots of other VPNs that have Taiwan too.
Once I had signed up there, I just used my normal UK papypal account and it went through fine.
When I use the service (usually on my Mac), I turn on the VPN, log into the eleven sports site, then turn off the VPN & switch between their 2 channels (and switch the audio to "alternate" to get English commentary.

Optus was a bit more tricky:
Used VPN and signed up for an Optus account (no payment details at this point - i used _address_generator to make myself an address. I think it also wanted a phone number which I made up.
I then signed up to iTunes and made an Australian account (again, no payment details)
I then used Offgamers .com to buy an Australian $20 gift card, which cost be around £12
I added the gift card to my new Australian iTunes account, and using a VPN, downloaded the Optus Sport app from the Australian app store on my phone.
I logged in with the Optus account I set up earlier & subscribed in there. It took a few seconds and took the money from the gift card balance.

Think that was all of it.

My current favourite is XCIPTV. Free, really fast channel zapping, EPG available for other channels and groups while the stream is playing.
I’ve also used Smarters, IPTV Extreme & TiviMate
I always ran my fire sticks with wifi. No issue at all even with a low-mid range router, the asus/google on hub. I have about 20 connected devices, along with bunch of wireless cameras, and all the other wireless devices connected to my smartthings device. I have 1gb connection, testing speed at fast.com on firefox im getting 120mbps down on the 2nd gen firestick and with the firestick 4k im getting 360mbps. Streaming from IPTV doesn't pull enough bandwidth. Using my google wifi app to monitor the firestick, when running Helix app the download speed is under 10mbps, with perfect player speed is around 10mbps as well but sometimes fluctuate into 15-20mbps. Watching 4K UHD videos on netflix speeds are 60-70mbps. Most of the hiccups you see with iptv is most likely on the provider/server side. Most iptv apps has the option for Hardware encoding, I always set them to HW and it seems to run better.
I've used NordVPN for more than a year and, aside from their making changes to their OpenVPN files without notifying me and one support guy who isn't very bright, have found them to be excellent; one of the few online services I have no regrets paying for.
To answer the original poster's question: "better to have a VPN and not need it than to need a VPN and not have it" something like that.
Download this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=aws.apps.keyeventdisplay&hl=en_US
Connect the remote to your phone and send me a pic after you pressed the buttons, so I can add support for these remotes
Try Smarters. It's a good IPTV player, and it supports multi screen.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nst.iptvsmarterstvbox
Solar player lets you easily pass off your stream to VLC
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.solarplayer.app&hl=en_US
As .ts (iptv video) files aren't supported by chromecast, transcoding has to happen. The only decent implementation of transcoding is in VLC for Android.
Check out SolarPlayer - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.solarplayer.app
Feels most like a regular cable box to me. It's Android TV and Mobile compatible, which is nice for familiarity if she's using both. I wasn't sure which you were asking for.
If only for Android TV OS (not Android TV boxes), I'd go for about anything that links into the factory Live Channels app...add Pluto TV as a secondary Live Channels source, in addition to IPTV (or in case your IPTV is down for whatever reason) while you're at it! TVirl is works well for IPTV > Live Channels integration, but there are a few to choose from, they all do roughly the same thing as far as integrating goes.
I have the 43 inch Toshiba Fire TV 4k UHD model and it runs IPTV Smarters and XCIPTV just fine. I have subs with Fire TV IPTV and Eternal and have no issues watching content with either service (with IPVanish as VPN.)
It is like having a 4K Fire stick built into your TV.
The TV quality itself is mediocre. I have an 8000 series Samsung SUHD TV that blows it out of the water but cost 10x as much.
If you consider that a 4k Fire stick is normally $49.99 and the Toshiba Fire TV 4K UHD is anywhere around $250 depending on sales, that is a $200 budget 4k TV.
Don't expect $2,000 4k UHD quality and you won't be disappointed.
It's always better/safer to use it. That being said, I don't know of anyone who has gotten into trouble using it without VPN. If you want to have some peace of mind, I suggest go for it. Nord or ExpressVPN are both good; and you should download it on both.
I use Private Internet Access on my Shield. I like the "per app" selection option. I use YouTube TV and Amazon video so I don't want them covered. Everything else is protected. Never had an issue with it.
Used IPTV for a while now and taken around the world when travelling. I use IPVanish VPN and doesn't disrupt the connection speed. So many choices out there... Just try one and see what's best for you
ok well the BT HomeHub modem/router won't work as you can't even change the DNS on that thing not to mention to add vpn functionality, so you will need your own router ( my choice is Asus ) which have built in openvpn support... Also it works great with BT. As for provider I would go with NordVPN or PIA...
This exact thing happened to me. . . worked for one day, then nothing. I thought perhaps blocked my IP for too many hit or something because I couldn't even access their website. Turns out, it was DEFINITELY my ISP. I looked around and went with IPVanish as a VPN and after a quick setup with IPVanish, everything worked perfectly after that.
You must have installed the demo version in the store.
The one you'll actually want to install can be found here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mvas.stb.emu.pro&hl=en
It shouldn't have any ads. If you get any ads though something weird is going on.
Alternatively you could also root your device (depending which one it is) and run minminguard which should block all that (exposed installer is needed). There may be other ad blockers as well but minmin seems to be the best
Install TiviMate Companion app from Google Play on your phone:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ar.tvplayer.companion
If you don't have Android device with Google Play, you can use BlueStacks emulator.

Keywords buy the subscription
My point was to those that are able to watch TV shows and movies without paying a subscription ie premium service
Keep in mind that the Mi Box is not the same as those Chinese Android TV Boxes. Those boxes run regular Android and as a result it is hard to navigate around because most apps (and even the Android system) work best with touch input instead of a remote or mouse like those Chinese boxes use.
The Mi Box is similar to the Nvidia Shield TV, Google Nexus Player and Razer Forge TV. These run Android TV which is designed to work best on a TV and to be navigated around with a remote. You would need to use a STB emulator for these or Kodi with the stalker middleware configured.
my comment want not entirely useless, but this will make is more useful
https://www.softether.org/4-docs/2-howto/3.VPN_for_Mobile/1.iPhone_and_Android
Ive been having the exact same issue. All my sport streams were being throttled dramatically (buffering every minute for 10 mins and then smooth for like 5-6 mins and then buffering again in a cycle). All other channels are okay. still get throttled but not as bad. Then i got NordVPN and the issue is gone. I am in Toronto with Teksavvy. My IPTV guy has his servers in chicago so when i connect to a VPN, i select Chicago servers and its flawless
I have one of these plugged into my WIFI router -
https://www.amazon.com/GL-iNet-GL-AR150-Pre-installed-Performance-Programmable/dp/B015CYDVG8/
It is configured as a second WIFI network with a VPN config built in. It works really well on my TV so that I can get BBC iPlayer, etc. from the UK.
Because Sky have started to provision internet without fixed landlines. You get a 'landline' through the telephone port on the router - I believe it is a virtual service that runs over the internet connection to Sky's landline SIP (or some other service).
To answer the OP's question - since you're moving to Virgin, I think that maybe you're getting a landline connection separately which solves the above problem (unless they too have started the virtual landlines as their routers also have the telephone port but has been inactive as far as I know so far).
You can and should use the Mikrotik as your router but you'd need to be familiar with it to set it all up to do what you want as it's perfectly capable. You'd need to put the Virgin router into modem only mode so your Mikrotik then handles all the routing. Then you can create a VPN connection to NordVPN and use firewall mangle rules to selectively route the devices you want to run through VPN (e.g. IPTV Mag box).
>I am in Canada and I got relatives in Ireland to log in and it worked for them but not me.
There's your clue.
Provided you are both using the same login details, you have just proven that the service is up and running fine, and the issue is on your end.
What is most likely happening here is that your ISP is filtering IPTV URLs.
Sign up for a VPN and test it. You can set the location to, for example, Ireland as a test and it will likely be okay.
You can then start changing your VPN to closer servers to you to get the best performance while accessing your IPTV provider.
I use TorGuard myself and they are quite good, but I've heard great things about IPVanish, and I believe they offer a 7 day trial. Check it out.
I recommend Light IPTV, a basic app that's free (has no pro version either), lightweight and very limited ads that do not interrupt your viewing!
IPTV Smarters Pro is one of the best

Since you have an Android TV hopefully you have an Android phone and use the Android TV remote app.
Otherwise, URL shorteners, or an app like cetus play will help.
Or you email on your shield and copy from email into your player.
the app is called " tasker " its a " if this / do that " type program and its all automatic once setup

I was going to post something about ExpressVPN, glad to see someone beat me to it! I have it installed on all my Fire Sticks, connected to Dockland of all places because it lets me stream not only my IPTV service, but Netflix as well.
They cannot see what you’re streaming over https. That traffic is encrypted. If https traffic wasn’t encrypted then no one would purchase anything online.
All they can see is where the connection was made aka the destination/providers VPN IP.
But yes, still use a TRUSTED VPN and IPVanish is not the one.
Always gonna get different answers, there are a few after skimming replies though that have stood up for years. Private Internet Access, Torguard, and Nord.

Other notables from my "background" I would include, Express and IPVanish.
I use Private Internet Access and have had no problems. They have cheap plans that include five simultaneous client connections. Not sure why, but they aren't listed on , but check out their list and the criteria ().
Sometimes you got to restart router get new ip for it to mask, computers are finerkly and I can’t explain it technical like someone else can but sometimes a restart then enable vpn will help bypass the block.
I use IPVanish vpn on my amazon stick £55 for the whole year with upto 10 connections per account so that’s sorted me and dad for iptv and my phone.
Virgin 350mb down 20mb up
There is an Android app, which I've tried on a phone & Nvidia Shield. Seems to work ok with NordVPN. I don't think there's an Apple app. I used this
You can sign up easily from any of their sites. NordVPN, IPVanish, PIA are just some. They all have different deals going on and you can even find referral codes on YouTube promoting each VPN to get discounts. Then you just download the VPN on your device and turn it on an BAM! Your ISP doesn’t know what you’re streaming. There’s tutorials on YouTube that should be able to get you started.
That's a bit weird, I have switched servers multiple times when using NordVPN and IPTV but there was never a 15 minute lag. Are you switching the servers mid streaming? Because depending on the server speed, it might take some time to disconnect, reconnect and load up the streamed content again
It's pretty easy. You just need a VPN service. I use VPNSecure because I got a lifetime subscription for $29, but any VPN would work. You can either install the VPN app and run it before running Kodi. Or, like I do, you can use Kodi settings to apply an HTTP Proxy. You turn on HTTP Proxy in Kodi's system settings and then enter your Proxy server name and password. Then you have to restart Kodi.
Before I used an http proxy my IPTV streams would start and play for around 30 seconds before cutting out. With the proxy they work normally. I can only assume Comcast was throttling the traffic since I have 250mbps service.
Agree with some of the comments. You will experience slightly throttled speeds when using a VPN and most ISPs will send a Cease and Desist type letter first. Personally I always flip my VPN on as the speed hit is neglidgeable if you get a good one. If you're looking for a good VPN there are some good deals to be had right now. Check out . They're offering some good deals with PureVPN.
By far the easiest and the best way is to get NBC Gold. NBC Gold has no commercials and has the content you want, the stuff most IPTV providers don't have in consistent quality.
Get a Roku (they don't have location services, so NBC can't see you are in the UK) and put it behind a hardware VPN. Any VPN provider works, PIA, IPVanish, etc. Connect the VPN router to a USA server.
Then, start up the Roku. Create an account. You'll now have the American Roku interface. Download the NBC Gold app. Pay for it on the website (UK cards work) and watch the matches (including 3 pm!) in 1080p/60 fps.
For the matches that are not on Gold, you can buy a US Pay TV login to authorize the regular NBC app.
If you want a very low cost solution, try this:
Get a US Pay TV login. Those sell for very, very little. DirecTV, Dish, Spectrum, anything works. In Kodi, install this addon:
Put Kodi behind a USA VPN. Authorize the app with your Pay TV login.
Boom, you now have access to both regular NBC Sports and NBC Sports Gold. Which means all EPL matches.
Now, Kodi sucks a bit. You will get a bit of stuttering at the start of a match, but that'll happen on the 'live coverage begins soon' screen so it doesn't matter.
1080p/60 fps.
No provider has every 3 pm game at high quality without stuttering, low resolution etc on a continuous basis. But, you have better options than using IPTV for EPL:
By far the easiest and the best way is to get NBC Gold. NBC Gold has no commercials and has the content you want, the stuff most IPTV providers don't have in consistent quality.

HLS was set to normal. I repositioned the unit and put a fresh set of batteries in it (the batteries I put in it yesterday were new—go figure) and as a result the remote is working better. I installed IPVanish and am sampling channels to put it through its paces. My unscientific observations at this point are that channels on Fab are more prone to freezing/loading than channels on Vader.
You should be using a vpn anyway in the uk
The snoopers charter means all your browsing and internet data and history is on file for 1yr and since that's being monitored it's essentially shooting fish in a barrel when it comes to people like the EPL trying to identify IPTV providers so that can blacklist the IP and block a hell of a lot easier
Is your router a dd wrt enabled router? if you don't know then likely it isn't. So you would have to root your fire tv box to have the ability to install vpn onto it. Which has it's own set of issues and is not for the weak of heart regarding technology. There is another solution, get a mobile dd wrt router which you can install vpn software onto. There are many to choose from at various cost. Personally I use PIA (Private Internet Access) which you can currently get a 2 yr sub for $39 usd, but look around. Basically you bridge your device (fire tv) to your primary router through the mobile router. Instructions are fairly comprehensive. Here is a link (copy and paste) to one on amazon.
GL-MT300N Mini Travel Router, Wi-Fi Converter, OpenWrt Pre-installed, Repeater Bridge, 300Mbps High Performance
I'm using ExpressVPN with the Linksys AC1200 that comes with open software. I flashed a new firmware on that that I downloaded from ExpressVPN. It was super easy to do and they had really easy to follow instructions. As for through put I would say around 30mps, sometimes 15. I know not the greatest but I Don't see any streaming issues due to speed. I pay for 150mps but I live in Vancouver BC and I am using Shaw Cable for internet and it is only 150 during ideal conditions. I only bought the AC1200 becuase I don't use the wifi, I just needed some ethernet ports that were VPN protected. You can go to different models with different wifi specs. Check out FlashRouters, they have a lot of gear.
I've used IPVanish on my FireTv2 for a couple months now and have been pretty happy with it's overall performance. Especially in terms that I very rarely notice it's even there and running.
Did have a somewhat annoying interface lag during the initial setup, which seemed to be the case on all 3 devices I put it on, but after that it worked just fine as a mostly set and forget app.
>networking tbh as it's really not my forte.
If you want something simple to set up, get either a Tomato or DD-WRT router — You have FlashRouters who sell pre-configured routers for VPN providers such as NordVPN, PrivateInternetAccess, etc...
They're not cheap (at all) but I reckon it's simpler than pulling your hair from your scalp one by one trying to figure out how to set up one that is not pre-configured...
There are cheaper alternatives, although, such as the EdgeRouter X (less than $80) that supports OpenVPN but takes some time to get running, but as it's commonly said, Google is your friend! :)
Hey, glad to be of some help
I use a vpn, yes. AirVPN, they're fantastic. When I purchased, it was through a reseller who supported skrill, circle, and straight bitcoin. More thoughts in bitcoin below.
It's probably worth noting that I don't keep a ruya sub any longer. The US channels I wanted were too unreliable.
RE: EPG, between ruya and iptvsubs, only iptvsubs integrates with the built in epg on kodi. Ruya has their own idea of an epg, which allows you to look at what's upcoming on 1 channel at a time. Then another channel, then great.
It's still possible to remain anonymous when purchasing bitcoin using your credit or debit card. Yes, a transaction will be on record saying that you purchased bitcoin, but not where they were sent. I'd recommend using bitcoin core or something like Jaxx or Mycelium if on Android. Be sure to generate a new address any time you receive bitcoin. Also, I'd shy away from things like circle and coinbase (any hosted wallet) as they have to adhere to certain laws since they are a business. They almost certainly know exactly which addresses you send to.
SportsAccess also uses bitpay to process bitcoin payments for them. Bitpay helps add anonymity by generating a new address for each transaction. This means that sportsaccess doesn't have specific addresses that can be tracked and monitored.
Feel free to ask if you have any other bitcoin or iptv questions. Enjoy!
yea, he doesn't just mean live channels as in Channels with live TV, he means the specific AndroidTV built in app called "Live Channels" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.tv&hl=en_US
Its not M3U but if you have an android TV box ( which I am assuming is yes because you mentioned the emulator ), then you could try 0iptv.
The basic version ( first 40 ish channels ) are free. Its based in British Columbia so the channels are what are local there and in Alberta.
As a temporary solution I can run NordVPN on my iPad & Airplay it to my TV, leaving my computer "free"... but somehow all of my bandwidth is hosed now & I'm barely cracking 5Mbps even without viewing IPTV content...weird, because I definitely verified that it was happening just with IPTV - UNLESS Cox decided to throttle my account . I sent them a Tweet... I swear, if they'd just leave out all of the "Thank you for letting us know...." and "We apologize for the inconvenience that...." and the 5 other useless generic responses, it'd shave 10 minutes off of these support chat interactions. The 1st rep clearly didn't know what IPTV was, so that was a predictable waste of time.
I used a lot of different providers on my Formuler Z10 Pro Max and every one of them failed. I get buffering with each one. Streaming 4K content makes it worst. Looks like the box is not strong enough to efficiently manage both the VPN encryption and 4K decoding.
With a VPN router in between the modem and the Formuler, I get better success.
I really hope getting the BEST Formuler would prevent these buffering, but no. :/
I tested :
If you are gaming on the shield, then you may want to turn the VPN off for that. Also, sometimes VPN servers can still get overloaded, causing buffering and congestion, particularly on the weekend so you may wish to switch servers from time to time. Apart from that, the NordVPN app is pretty solid, and is much better than the OpenVPN app. If you are concerned, just run a quick speedtest from time to time or an ip lookup (shield has an ip tool you can find in the play store) just to check you're still connected.
As for the people saying you don't need a VPN... don't be so naive. Just because you haven't had any nasty outcomes, does not mean your ISP isn't logging your server connections. Prevention is better than the cure, but hey, it's your life.

I guess you are assuming Bitcoin is anonymous because of the media. Don't believe them, they are lying or are misinformed. Do your own research.
Also, most here are talking about using VPN. But the Bitcoin blockchain ledger (transaction history) does not store IP addresses. Maybe it can be tracked down to an IP address, but that would mean you would have to intercept traffic to all Bitcoin master nodes.
Big fish criminals have been caught using Bitcoin in the past; https://thenextweb.com/hardfork/2019/04/26/drug-dealers-who-relied-on-bitcoins-anonymity-get-30-years-behind-bars/
But that is not because of IP address being traced, but because of money being traced.
As explained in the article above. If you receive it a Bitcoin, you can trace from where it came. If you are spending it to buy a product you need provide an address for shipping. With online services bought it can again be tracked by IP addresses. There are options like bitcoin washers or buying crypto with cash or gift cards that you can by with cash. But you're always paying a premium.
I appreciate your input and experience. All I can say is that changing the DNS fixed my issue. My question simply asks why. Torguard was certainly recommended by someone otherwise I wouldn't have it, but for the future, which VPN would you recommend?
It's funny how you say that as I have roughly 30/40 customers on EE and using a decent VPN they all have not a single problem. I guarantee you the problem lies with one you're using (Torguard which is shite).
Well free versions can usually be downloaded and put on the firestick via adb, x-plore file manager with the "wifi server" , or upload it to Dropbox or similar and download with the downloader app on the firestick.
Tivimate
Myiptv player
Perfect player following the above steps will also work for pro.
I got a generic android box a few months ago (about $40-$50 USD) and haven't had any problems watching IPTV with it. I tested 2 models and there was basically no noticeable difference in terms of performance (the X88 Pro and the T95). The biggest weakness for me is the remote, which is very basic but I don't mind (the remotes were the same for both boxes).
In terms of software, I run tivimate and sometimes NordVPN in the background and no problems so far.
If I end up getting another box I'll probably try an Nvidia Shield as it's also Android based and more powerful. I was also considering the firestick but its OS and apps seem a bit more restrictive although it also supports tivimate and most of the popular apps from what I gather. To me the most important is the flexibility the OS gives you and the android systems seem to be the better ones.
Another thing I read about is that if you update Netflix or Disney in the generic android boxes (I don't have either) they may stop working, so if that's something you're going to use probably go for the Nvidia or firestick.
I think MYTVOnline is an app that usually comes with a preconfigured STB box aka "Kodi box", so you maybe don't even know what IPTV service you are using. You need to get a VPN. Look what VPN apps you can install on the box or it comes with. My friend had this issue with little knowledge of what this "box" was doing. He had the Private Internet Access VPN app on the box, I gave him my login details and that sorted it out. In the VPN settings you can configure it to start automatically.
IPTV smarters was the main choice for most people and well known with it's custom builds sold on boxes and resellers and used for piracy etc and all of the attention IPTV has received last few weeks since the big busts.
you can get the latest version here for android --> https://apkpure.com/iptv-smarters-pro/com.nst.iptvsmarterstvbox/variant/2.2.1.2-APK
Easiest way is RetroX but its 12.99 USD per year. http://www.retrox.tv/ much easier than retroarchand looks good for multiple consules and arcade games. However if you only want SNES then snes9x is fairly easy to get up and running.
Although, I feel that the most efficient and most affordable way to convert USD to crypto is with Monero. Simply go to https://localmonero.co/ and sign up for an account. You don't need to enter a real phone number, name and address until you get close to making like $20,000 per trade (that number my not be correct, but it's around that figure). Choose the "Cash by Mail" option, choose someone to trade with, mail them the cash and when they get it they send the Monero to your wallet.
The advantage of doing it that way with cash is 1) Monero is safer and more private/anonymous than Bitcoin and 2) Depending on the price your trade partner set before you agreed to trade with him/her, you usually make money just by trading cash to them. For example, last week I sent $2,500 in cash to the trader and I got back $2,575 in Monero.
This guy resells a VOD only service and the selection is the largest I've seen.
https://www.gumtree.com/p/tv-reception-set-top-boxes/premium-tv-/1275454549
His VOD service contains something like 22k separate titles. £25 for a year and payment via PayPal.
Until most android phone roms included this I used : https://apkpure.com/network-monitor-mini/info.kfsoft.android.TrafficIndicator
Please let me know if that works for you, I've never used Android TV but I would be surprised if it doesn't.
You're definitely right in theory. Problem is, we live in Mexico. My internet is about 7mbps tops on a good day, and nothing faster is available. By having two connections, we can spread our streaming as a family to make it just about bearable. Keep meaning to see if Speedify (https://speedify.com/desktop-vpn/) would work here so I can combine the speeds, but never get around to it.
The main site is here: https://dd-wrt.com/ and there is a lot of information there.
There is also some reviews on this site and information on what’s available.
The info above is ideally designed to be done as part of the process of compiling a custom firmware. If you want to do it directly on the box then you can access it using an SSH client (such as PuTTY)
You connect to the IP of your box using your SSH client with the following details:
Infomir's factory images disable SSH, so if you can't connect then you'll need to flash your box with a firmware from (http://soft.infomir.com/)
Browse to the page for your specific model of box, and download the file named "imageupdate"
Place that file on a USB stick (which must be formatted as FAT32. MAG254 and earlier can be picky about which sticks they recognise, you may need to try a few - don't use USB3.0 sticks) in a folder named after your box model (eg mag256) and then reboot your box while holding down the menu key on the remote. This will take you into the setup menu
That should flash your box with a firmware that allows console access.
Once you get in via SSH, run the following commands to do a quick and dirty patch:
echo 127.0.0.1 mag256.dcbs.infomir.com >> /etc/hosts rm /mnt/Userfs/data/dls.backup reboot && exit
Obviously as in the instructions above, replace mag256 with whatever model of mag you have. This isn't (in my opinion) as good of an option as a custom firmware since it won't auto-purge the cache if it somehow comes back, or block automatic updates (so make sure you disable automatic updates yourself BEFORE you take the box online after flashing it)
I am hoping I can use mythtv it has a wiki page that says it should be possible https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/IPTV I think it should be.
Quote ....
"HTTP live streaming with MPEG 2 TS segments over HTTP is supported. Live media broadcasts can be recorded with the IPTVRecorder, on VOD services can be played with the internal player. "
I am currently using Plex, I’m just not very thrilled with thier apps so far, many still don’t even have a grid guide.
My question was about Channels DVR which is a completely different piece of software.
What's your level of Linux competency? If you know Linux basics, then I'd just install Emby in Docker: https://emby.media/docker-server.html
My home Emby installation runs using their Docker container and has been flawless for both local and remote access scenarios. I also use it to remotely access IPTV, which is what you describe wanting to do as well.
Can I ask your use case for wanting to do this on a VPS versus your home computer? Have you taken into account storage space and bandwidth requirements to do this? Most VPS providers, unless you're willing to foot a big bill, aren't designed with media streaming applications in mind. You'll chew through bandwidth quite fast if you're using it a lot, and depending on whether you transcode, want to DVR, or plan on keeping local media files on the server too or not, you may also need quite large storage requirements.
Allegedly it's because it's invalid xml, using characters that aren't properly supported by most EPGs. I found a script on the Emby forums that seems to fix it (the script is in the bottom post), but you have to run the script daily to keep the guide up to date.
I just started (literally 2 days ago) with Emby to record/DVR SmoothStreams. It's working well but I still haven't worked out all the kinks with guide data or auto renewing the m3u8 playlist files. Once I get that solved I think I'll be pretty happy with a minimal investment in setup.
Stremio is a pretty close to an alternative of what you are looking for.
It works in browser, but for complete experience and full add-on support, have to have the desktop app running.
There is a desktop app for Linux, Win and Mac. As will as mobile apps for Android and iOS.
Hope that helps :)
That has no bearing on the issue. He can use the best iptv provider in the the world and if he's getting interference from something in the house on the same frequency and interfering, you'll get a buffering issue. Only other option is hard wire but pita with firesticks and chromecast. Here is a list of items on the 2.4 frequency microwaves, baby monitors, and garage door openers portable phones etc. Give these a read.

You can get a VPS that runs Linux and install OpenVPN. I don't recommend it unless you're familiar with Linux.
Here's the guide I used: https://www.linode.com/docs/networking/vpn/secure-communications-with-openvpn-on-ubuntu-12-04-precise-and-debian-7
Hello again. So, 92Mbps down, 9.5Mbps up (This is using the webOS browser and fast.com). So no issues there. I unplugged the TV for a few minutes, powered up. Went to use the Smart IPTV but there's an issue with the provider atm... f'ing typical LOL. Once it's solved I will try.
Maybe try to activate your CC card on Privacy.com and use a generated CC number from them, might work to get around this decline error? This isn't like using a gift card though, you'll see PRIVACYCOM *Your IPTV Provider Name Here* so you're not really hiding what you're paying for but you can make one off CC numbers or set a max limit on them.
Try using open dns in your router and not your isp dns .. this might help.
https://www.opendns.com/setupguide/

your isp must be blocking or throttling iptv video do not use their dns and might fix problem

I use OpenVPN for Android v0.7.8
On my VPS I run SoftEther Server. Created an OpenVPN profile, copied it to my FS4K. When I open the profile (using ES) I select OpenVPN which happily loads the profile up.
Works very well.
BTW I hugely recommend SoftEther as it is multi-protcol and you can connect the client to hundreds of free SoftEther servers round the world (not good for general usage but great for creating a temporary presence)

Regardless of provider, I run a speed test from my regular PC and I get 90+ Mbps. When I run it from the Formuler Z8 it barely manages 40 and sometimes around 30 Mbps. This is straight google chrome on both devices using speedof.me to test the connection speed. They are both connected straight into the router via hardline.
Is this device's ethernet implementation so shitty it can't even handle Megabit speeds?
Other than the obvious reset modem router try this speed test and see if theres a fluctuation during the download process. Spikes etc. Try this https://speedof.me/ It will do ping, download and upload speeds.
Try an app called Wifi Overview 360 to see what channels are busy in the area.
And run Analiti on the device while it's on each of 2.4Ghz/5Ghz to see the comparative speeds.
I wouldn't use a free vpn honestly. Try Mullvad. It's exceptional. Takes your privacy very seriously and doesn't keep logs of what you do while using their VPN. Fair pricing as well. They even let you use Bitcoin to pay if you want to further anonymize yourself. Much better than say Nord.
Who are you with now?
It's so weird though - like I said, it is all 100% fault free on the Z8. Exact same set up, both brand new boxes, both using NordVPN (and tested without too), everything the same.
Looks like I will have to return the Shield unless I find a solution or something. It was bought from amazon so I have at least a few weeks left to test it.
I am looking for a 2nd provider as a backup, so I may do some trials with new people just to test the box further.
This is the remote you want.
I paired it with my z8 pro and it works great! My z8 pro is stored in a closet with the doors kept closed. The wires feed through the wall and come out behind the tv so there are no wires or boxes that are visible. They are all in the closet. This remote really works well.
I am thinking about trying to pair it with my Shield. It has a dedicated guide button that I like.
I bought it and love it.
I installed Tivimate on my formuler and like it a lot better than mol2. This remote works flawlessly with the set up.
I will keep it in mind. That said, since switch to ExpressVPN a few years back, I have had zero issues and get incredible speeds over 100mbps (despite my ISP throttling bandwidth for VPNs).
Though I will read about it. Hopefully they have the ability to flash a router a s integrate vpn right at that level.
For uses, I much prefer ExpressVPN.
For instance, I flashed a second router to be an express vpn router.
That one also allows me to access other countries content, and it also lets me use streaming sites like Hulu.
Also, I feel like these IPTV solution would not have 4K... or if they do, I would want verify the bitrate it uses.
—
Does the IPTV solution you are mentioning work with things like TiVo (TiVo stream 4k specifically)
I’d be interested to check it out... but, I won’t drop my express vpn. $100 for the year for me is worth it due to all the uses (non tv as well)... but, again you got me curious.
Does your IPTV have the canadian CP24 station?
Thanks
