This is the real TiviMate and TiviMate Premium is bought separately in the TiviMate Companion App
Please report this app in Google Play
That is the pirated version of Tivimate. It does not work right. Probably something the developer put in to make pirating the program not worth it. The EPG guide doesn't work reliably, for starters.
It is only $5 for a year for 5 devices. Cheap as can be. Download Tivimate Companion to your Firestick using Downloader and this link:
https://apkpure.com/tivimate-companion/ar.tvplayer.companion/download
have you tried a refresh rate switcher app, it should be able to do that for you automatically ach time you open disney+
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.bytearray.refreshrate&hl=en\_IE&gl=US
On your android phone signed into the same Google account as that of the shield click this link
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ar.tvplayer.tv
At the bottom of the page click join beta
Once joined - on the shield you can automatically download beta updates
Or manually download the apk and copy/push to shield
I find this the other day when looking to see if TiviMate would work on my Pixel Slate (it doesn't)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tvmatepro.protivi
Looks like some one is blatantly ripping the app off.
Install Blue Stacks (Android emulator) on your PC. Log into the Google Play Store from there and install TiviMate Companion. Then log into TiviMate Companion and make your purchase of Premium.
Kodi attached as External Player works great for this. You just need to sign up for a free opensubtitles.org account
I got this error this morning as well. Took me a bit to figure out. I use IPVanish and switched my VPN protocol to the new WireGuard. It was my issue. When I switch back to IKEV2 that error code disappears and IPTV works great. Hope that helps.
Do not recommend buying the one sold by Google, top end speed is only up to 100 MBPS. Get one from Amazon, that is what I did but make sure you determine if it is compatible with the device. Check with TroyPoint dot com. He has a recommendation for the hub device. Unfortunately the one I purchased from Amazon is no longer available https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07X1PR3PY
Could just be the server that you're connecting to is having issues and me personally when I use my NordVPN it disconnects all the time on my fire devices which causes the fire stick to not be connected to the internet.
You don't need the companion app on the nvidia shield as you can purchase premium direct from the playstore on it
The companion app is for purchasing premium on your mobile phone for devices that do not have access to the playstore
Direct link to companion app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ar.tvplayer.companion
Yes using IPVanish and tried various servers and also tried VPN Unlimited on various servers and same thing. Sooo I tried the opposite and it worked. No VPN let me log in fine which is strange but problem solved. Thanks for the help.
YXwin USB C Hub Adapter, USB C to HDMI 4K, 6 in 1 USB C Dock Dongle with Gigabit Ethernet RJ45, Type C Power Delivery Port, 3 USB 3.0 Ports for Macbook Pro/Air, Samsung, Huawei, XPS, and More https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07PSM6RQS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_BaPTFb5QGWK4M?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I got that one. Works a treat. Can expand storage as well.
No issues with running Tivimate through ExpressVPN in the US. I get between 120 mbps and 150 mbps up and down through the VPN. I do have AT&T gig fiber to house, so that helps.
Works on 2019 Shield Pro and TivoStream4k streamer.
You can record just fine with Fire devices. You just need to get a USB hub. I have this one on both my fire stick 4Ks: https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Ethernet-Adapter-Nintendo-Chromebook/dp/B00LLUEJXW
You'll also need any cheap OTG adapter like this: https://www.amazon.com/AuviPal-Micro-USB-Cable-Power/dp/B07FY9Z9GD
This will replace the Amazon ethernet adapter if you're using it.
Then you can plug in any flash drive, USB hard drive, SSD, etc to use as a storage location. You cam also use the hub for a keyboard/mouse like Logitech K400.
Buy an OTG cable online, either Amazon or Ebay. Usually cheaper from China if you can wait that long. From a US seller you can buy on Ebay here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-Micro-Port-OTG-Power-Cable-Adapter-for-Fire-Stick-Amazon-Firestick-4K-TV/293547556782?hash=item4458cc3fae%3Ag%3ABKcAAOSw40Zels53&LH_BIN=1
or Amazon, here:
Connect your USB. Then use a program like ES Explorer or Total Commander (both are in the already set program list of your firestick) to transfer the backup you made from where ever you put it onto the USB flash drive. Then put the USB flash drive in your Nvidia shield and copy your backup into a folder on that device. Then, in the Shield, use RESTORE to restore your Tivimate backup.
I don’t use NordVPN, but I def use a VPN. Try different settings within Nord. Download and install Analiti. Run it to get the speeds with the default Nord settings, then try changing some settings in Nord then run Analiti again to see if the download/upload speeds changed. Try changing the Protocol settings to get the highest settings you can get. If you’re still buffering after that, try selecting a diff country or city. I heard that due to the World Cup, a lot of ISP’s are throttling connections.
ExpressVPN could be causing the problem. Turn it off and see. I remember reading that there are more issues with ExpressVPN related to Tivimate that aren't there with other VPNs (i.e. Nord, Surfshark, etc.) I have Surfshark and I get buffering sometimes when I turn it on so I have to play around with it to get TM to work perfectly. Yesterday I moved it from the default server to Orlando and it has worked great since. Try changing cities and see if it helps.
I'm g etting guide and channel info, just no picture or sound. I think it was the constant requests being sent to my provider. They cut off TiviMate somehow from accessing the service. Smarters works fine. Just love TiviMate.
I'm thinking this hammering issue was causing problems on their end.. the service was down yesterday for a few hours and they were having problems with the guide. Then it was up and fine. Then today I was instructed to stop using TiviMate, and just use their Smarters version. Maybe the constant EPG requests were clogging their servers? I dunno, was told to stop using TiviMate and use their Smarters version and all is well so far.
Using TiviMate, Firestick Max, IPVanish
This is my Ethernet dongle.
I also use ExpressVPN but I'm not sure it helps or hinders my IPTV. I'm in Canada so it does help me get around any geo-fencing I might encounter.
I'd love to know how you can get your stick to recognize the drive for records in TiviMate. I don't believe it even recognizes my 128gig SD card using the OTG cable.
I can only get a few apps to save to the SD drive. Like VLC, IPVanish and a few others. It's weird, Firestick doesn't really like using that external drive. Icw been told it's with Android.
Sorry I couldn't help with your question, but hoping you can help me out.

Yeah, VPNs are 100% legals, so no reason not to mention the one you are with. Ither people had issues with IPVanish and Tivimate, but it seems that going for a different server solved the issue for some of those reports. Try UK servers instead of France, for instance.

ISPs are now blocking many sports events especially live events. You need a VPN as suggested. VPNs will throttle your speed somewhat and vary in price. Some offer free servers and work well. Generally you should use a location nearest to you but if you are watching something that is Geolocked, then you need to set the location to that country. So a UK or Canada channel needs the VPN set to UK or Canada depending on your viewing. There are many VPN services so do your research as in the USA there are moves to crack down on VPN usage logs. I personally have used IPVanish with very little issues. A free alternative is ProtonVPN which gives you 3 free servers or AwardVPN which gives you 6 hours vpn using a code generated from their http. I've no affiliation to any of these but I've used them all at some stage. It's a matter of what suits your budget and viewing needs.
Hey thanks for replying!
>Have you tried creating a new folder and sharing that and then seeing if tivimate will connect to that folder?
No, but I'm not sure that'll help as TiviMate isn't finding ANY folders (I have many shared folders and it's not finding any of them). It just thinks for about 3 seconds then brings up an empty folder tree with 'No folders' displayed.
>Is your firestick on same network? Try forgetting network and reconnecting
Sure is, forgetting network hasn't changed anything
>Try downloading an smb app from the store and cheking if that app sees your smb folder
I downloaded and installed Network Browser. This had no problems seeing my network share folders and all were listed and accessible.
>Are tivimate versions on both 4k and non-4k the same versions?
Yes, 4.4.0
>Try downgrading to an older tivimate app or completely resting tivimate
I tried several older versions, some of which wouldn't let me sign in so couldn't test properly. But I managed to test on 4.1 and 3.5 and it didn't work on those either.
In conclusion, as this definitely worked before (the last recording I have was from March 27th) and that other apps can see the folders ok, I think this could be something in the upgrade of android version to the firestick that TiviMate is no longer playing nicely with.
I really appreciate your input, I'll let you know if I work it out.
I was using expressvpn and now I’m on Mullvad. I can tell you with Mullvad app using NVIDIA shield pro it made the entire system faster.
Expressvpn app and protocols it uses make the system slower.
Try Mullvad with wireguard it’s just perfect for iptv
Ok wanted to share what worked for me.
I was having similar issues to above accessing windows 10 SMB LAN when Nord VpN on. This just randomly happened a few days ago as it worked flawlessly before. I think it broke as Nord may have a had a recent update? Bc I had to update on another device, my shield I believe updates auto…
Anyway the below is what Nord customer support told me to do, for me I only had to do the 1st recommendation and it worked again
On the AndroidTV NordVPN application: Open settings menu (below the "All Countries" and "Speciality Servers" options) > VPN protocol > OpenVPN (TCP).
Please add the given DNS address in the NordVPN application itself by following these steps:
Open the NordVPN application and go to the Profile page (bottom-right corner).
Go to the Settings menu (top-right corner).
Make sure that the Threat Protection Lite feature is disabled under the Tools section.
Under the VPN connection section, tap on DNS text, select Custom and enter this address: 1.1.1.1, then press Add server.
Reconnect to the VPN to confirm the change.
Hope this helps someone!
MX Player is available for the google play store in the US. Just go to the play store and search for it.

A little bit more detail:
I have 2 different NAS shares on my local LAN. A DNS-320 with 2 TB of data and a USB SSHD connected to my Netgear Nighthawk R6350 thru the Router's "Readyshare" Feature. Base folder share link is: http://192.168.1.1/shares and there I have numerous folders, including DVR for my whole house shared recordings. Enabling NordVPN on any of the firesticks breaks that firestick's ability to properly record or playback recordings on that VPN enabled firestick only. Disable Nord and functionality returns.
If your TV is new enough and has a new enough version of HDMI-CEC, then the Firestick and TiviMate do know when your TV is off. In this case, TiviMate stops streaming the channel automatically when you turn the TV off. There is an option in TiviMate to automatically start the last channel when TV is turned on. Make sure this settings is off. Also, when you are watching a channel, you can easily stop the stream by holding the back button for a few seconds. I have multiple TVs that are working perfectly in this way.
Now if you have an older TV that doesn't support the feature described above, then you're sort of out of luck. You can try two different options:
1- Power your Firestick from the USB service port on the TV. Sometimes these will provide enough power to use the Firestick and, USUALLY, these ports do not provide power when the TV is off so you Firestick would obviously turn off and thus stop streaming.
2- Sometimes the USB service ports do not provide enough power for a Firestick to work properly. You can instead purchase a master control/ switched power strip. This power strip has switched outlets that turn on/off when the TV is turned on/off. You can power your Firestick with one of these switched outlets. Both of the above options mean that every time you power on the TV, you'll have to wait 30-60 seconds for the Firestick to boot. TiviMate does also have an option to auto open the app on boot. FWIW, I also have 1 older TV that is setup using option 2 and is working well for me.
With all this said, I do with TiviMate had a sleep timer function so I wouldn't have to use my TVs sleep timer. But otherwise I love this app!
Rather than add hundreds of lines of code to an app for a feature less than 2% of people would use here is a practical solution to your needs:
Plug your TV into the blue port and when you switch it off it turns the green ports off. Yes, when you turn the TV back on, your device will have to boot up but TM can be set to open on boot.
This particular Firestick is more than enough.
U might be better off buying an inexpensive VPN like nordVPN or any other of ur choosing. This should solve all ur ISP issues. Just make sure to ask ur provider if they support or what VPN they do and do not support. Usually all support NordVPN but it's best to ask so u don't waste ur money on an incompatible one.
Personally, I like IPVanish. They're cheap, they have apps for everything (Windows, Android, Fire Stick, etc.), and they have good features like split tunneling so I can whitelist some apps like Prime Video or Netflix. And they don't lock me down by IP or cap my connections, so I can share with family members that also use Tivimate.
Several public criminal cases have shown that law enforcement have requested VPN logs and they have hit a dead-end when VPN companies have responded with "we have no logs to give you"
Also think about it... Court cases are a matter of public disclosure. If a single one had evidence presented to them that came from a VPN providers logs it would be ALL OVER the internet.
Some years ago IPVanish had logs and had to disclose them when investigators/courts requested them. This became public knowledge and almost ruined IPVanish. They sold the company and the new owner enforced a zero log policy.
ANY paid for VPN company that logged their customer's use would soon be exposed and that company would be ruined.
So to answer your question... "how do you know they don't?" My answer is... Because we would know if they did and as a VPN company isn't obliged to log a customer's network traffic. Why would they? The only purpose it would serve is to ruin their own company.
That breach wasn't a breach of their customer's database. (so no need to contact each customer although they did announce the server breach) It was a single server in Finland out of the thousands they have that customers can connect to. That server had no data logging (like all their servers don't) it was noticed and resecured quite quickly. At most all the hacker would have seen is network traffic to that particular server for a short period of time. Some customer's IP's could have been gathered.
Obviously, it wasn't a good thing but no sensitive customer information was obtained and it showed the efficiency and transparency that NordVPN have with their customers. I wouldn't say it was anything to worry about. If anything it displayed to me that NordVPN are trustworthy. I was with IPVanish at the time and switched to NordVPN when my subscription expired purely because of how they handled it.
Do you think other VPN companies haven't had servers compromised at some point? I'm damn sure they have. They just haven't announced it. So...
The "Live Channels" app from AndroidTV/GoogleTV - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.tv&hl=en_US&gl=US ???
But that doesn't make sense - it is an alternative to the TiviMate app, not something that TiviMate needs present in order for the TiviMate app to work.
Besides the backup advice given here, the app Send files to TV is an easy way to transfer between boxes, if you're all on the same network, just install it on each box.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yablio.sendfilestotv&hl=en\_US&gl=US
The catch up feature has to be provided by your IPTV provider since what it basically means is that the provider is recording live tv on its own servers and then you can access these recordings at any time. There are both positives and negatives to this approach. Obviously the big positive is that the provider uses its own equipment to record live tv so your device/software doesn't need to worry about it. But, there are some really negatives with it. One is that you have no control over what channels have catch-up, the provider decides that however most of the popular channels are usually covered. Another is that usually the provider only keeps 48 hours worth of recording so if you want to go back further than that you are out of luck but the biggest negative is that it's slow. Since the recorded video/audio is on the providers servers it takes time to act on your requests. sometimes it might take up to a minute every time you skip forward or back.
Software that does timeshift records locally on the device you are running it on so skipping back and forth is instantaneous, no lag. Obviously this works on any channel you tune to and you can rewind as far back as you have your "buffer" size set to and how much hard disk space you have. TIVIMATE does NOT support timeshift.
Some of the software that has this feature is Cosmi DVR Plex via xTeVe, Emby and it's open source cousin Jellyfin. There are others like tvheadend but they are much more difficult to setup and need a front end client to work properly.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ar.tvplayer.companion Use this
I also don't like using my main account on my Android TV (older relatives kept coming over and "accidentally" ordering a shit ton of movies)
Also u log in to the app on e it's downloaded so no need for all that side loading stuff. It's not that complicated.
Use the companion app to purchase Then use your log in detail to log in to whatever devices. On whatever , whomevers account uo to 5 devices per subscription.
With each version bugs are fixed and some new ones are accidentally introduced. The number of new bugs introduced in recent releases appears to outnumber the bugs fixed. (just by going on problems reported here)
If i have a stable version of Tivimate running (like I do) those "bug fixes" are inconsequential to me. As i'm not seeing any bugs that need fixing. Right?
Obviously, if you have bugs (which you do) I really recommend using another version and when you find one that's working perfectly well then stick with it. You then have no reason to update.
Version 3.5 has widely been found to be the least buggy version. Versions since then have introduced new issues. If you want to try an older version you can find them all Here
My whole outlook with software like Tivimate that supplies no security updates is this... If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Try and find a version that works for you.
This app is already by far the most complete and good looking for the Android TV, from the to-do list the options I consider my favorite ones are:

sure np. i use a cli app called traktarr to import lists such as below to add to arr when cl is executed.
https://trakt.tv/users/donxy/lists/marvel-cinematic-universe?sort=rank,asc
i have several of these for hulu netflix etc setup
I don’t believe you could map it to a channel. Many people remap it to Mute since the built in Mute requires two hands ffs. Others have mapped it to start Tivimate.
A good remote cover helps tremendously with the dreaded Accidental Netflix. I like the Fintie CaseBot one on Amazon. The way the cover helps is is not by covering the button. The edge of the big cutout gives your thumb a landmark that you can feel for where the buttons start, a landmark that isn’t the Netflix button. Secondly, it makes the remote less slippery, unexpectedly helpful for indexing the position and reduces falls, cushion dives, etc. It also helps with other common complaints such as loose battery doors, accidental facedown placement, etc.
I never used Downloader 😅 using phone I download apk and send it to FireStick or Google TV using this app:. Fire Tools .
( ° ͜ʖ͡°)╭∩╮
Thank you Sir for taking the time to answer all of these questions. You've been a great help.
Firstly, I'm going to need to speak with my IPTV Provider as I'm convinced I only have a 1 connection subscription. If it's not too expensive, I'll pay for the added connection. I like the idea of being able to watch something whilst recording something else on another channel. If it turns out to be too dear though and I stick with my 1 connection, can I still record but I simply can't change the channel? Could I record something via Tivimate and watch something else on Netflix or Kodi for example?
Good to hear about the storage. With all the added ROMs, I'm either going to buy this small form factor USB device HERE or this 500GB T7 Samsung SSD. The Samsung is only a few quid more expensive, but I like the idea of having a small device concealed in the back of the Shield since it's situated in the middle of my livingroom.
I got one of these for an older tv with a USB port that wouldn’t power the fire tv consistently. Without this it would reboot while trying to boot up.

If you have an Android device use Http Canary don't ask me how to use it, there are plenty tutorials on net just Google it.
as was explained above, use downloader to download Tivimate companion with this link:
https://apkpure.com/tivimate-companion/ar.tvplayer.companion/download
If you throw this into Downloader, it should hit the TiviMate Companion app directly
https://apkpure.com/tivimate-companion/ar.tvplayer.companion/download
Download it on an android phone then side load it to a pc if you really want it on the shield
You can use easy fire tools (also on playstore) to send any app installed on your phone or via apk to the shield
You can also just download the apk from https://apkpure.com/tivimate-companion/ar.tvplayer.companion Although this apk is out of date so it's better getting it from the playstore
Any thoughts on trakt.tv integration? Used to use this on Kodi which was great and would pull up the next show to be watched in a watchlist. I assume TiviMate could do something similar by looking through supplied catch up (maybe more difficult if show isn't tagged with series/episode) and VOD.
You can try device level screen lock apps like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.domobile.applock&hl=en_US
I edit and trash vod section of provider straight away. Get yourself a Real-Debrid subscription choose one of many apps which uses their API to stream movies and TV shows.
You can use Kodi with Seren add-on r/Addons4Kodi
Or dedicated apps for TV such as r/Stremio (free) or r/SynclerApp (paid) there are plenty more.
My personal choice is Wako (paid) with r/Addons4Wako .
USB and SSD are extremely cheap. You seem to be looking at ways to spend the minimal amount but you’re chasing diminishing returns. I recently paired this USB with a Shield Pro and it worked out nice and clean bc no cables. https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-512GB-Ultra-Flash-Drive/dp/B083ZS4HYD
By computer you mean installed on an android emulator running on a computer, correct? Because tivimate only runs on android. Anyway, you need to install another app from the google store called "tivimate companion" which is used to pay.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ar.tvplayer.companion&hl=en_US&gl=US
I don’t like that one as well. Here’s the one I meant: https://www.amazon.com/Fintie-Controller-CaseBot-Shockproof-Silicone/dp/B083VSNBW7 What I like about it is that it orients your hand on the remote. You have the edge of the cutout as a landmark you don’t have to look at. The one you posted, you’d be feeling around again and end up having to look.
This is the one I got from Amazon SAMSUNG T5 Portable SSD 500GB - Up to 540MB/s - USB 3.1 External Solid State Drive, Blue (MU-PA500B/AM) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073GZBT36/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_ZZ03AVSVVJJPH20986WV
>Get yourself a case for the remote, I like the Fintie one from Amazon. It will reduce the accidental Netflix button pushes, keep the back cover on, as well as reducing and cushioning drops.
That my friend is a really good consideration. Never once did it occur to me to buy myself a case for it. Unfornately, over on Amazon UK there doesn't seem to be all that many options available. This is probably the best on offer in this link HERE. Do you mind taking a look and seeing what you think?
Back first, then pull the file to this phone then restore it. For pulling a fine from Shield you can use Fire tools , works with any Android box including Shield.
Go to Amazon and check out PORTTA 4x1 Quad multiviewer box, about $85, you will like this.
https://www.amazon.com/Portta-Multi-Viewer-Coaxial-Seamless-Switcher/dp/B076LTWQNQ
Yes you will need a box, ROKU,Firestick, etc for each input but it works GREAT and will not overwork your streaming box, each of up to 4 screens has its own streaming box.
He has it on his Google Play page.

The mod here is the developer Alex. I suppose he could put the notification into each of his new version posts, but as the notification is posted on the actual purchase page on Google Play it would be redundant here. People that read here to get familiar with Tivimate before purchasing realize quickly that it is only a player, so I don't know how pressing it is to put it here. When investigating IPTV choices people just need to read what is said, and "Google is your friend." :-)
Not sure why you have not considered a third option. Instead of keeping that incredibly overpriced cable and with the need for DVR features you can sign up for Youtube TV or Hulu TV or Sling TV, depending on how many channels and DVR hours you need, and cut your price by half or by 75%. These services come with full fledged DVR and start at $35 a month with 50 hrs of DVR included or for $5 more a month with 200 hrs of DVR (Sling TV). They give you a free Chromecast w GGTV device just for signing up to the $35 plan - a $50 value.
I had the same problem and it turned out my ISP was throttling my IPTV streams. An easy way to see if this is happening to you is to install a free VPN like windscribe.com. They let you have 10GB a month free. that's more than enought to test and see. So install a free VPN and when buffering turn on the VPN if buffering stops you're being throttled. Then it's time to find a VPN and sign up. This is rare but it does happen.
OP got a notice that his yearly price went from $4.99 to $7.99 for the year. Are you seriously claiming that you were not aware that prices went up back in June? And, Smarters Pro is not free. That is simply untrue. The Premium version is not expensive, but it isn't free, either. And if you have 5 devices in your house you actually pay MORE for IPTV Smarters Pro, a much inferior player, than you do for Tivimate. $1.62 x 5 = $8.10. Tivimate = $7.99.
The reviews for the new version of IPTV Smarters Pro are mostly terrible:
Yes you plug them into each other.. when you get them you’ll see exactly how it goes together.. I use the 3.0 thumb drives..

If you have a Mac or a PC download Blustacks and then you can have access to Google Play Store.
Or borrow friend's or family member's Android phone to purchase life time license, so you wouldn't bother them again. Lol
I used bluestacks. Super easy emulator for Windows. Comes with the play store. As long as you have a gmail account. You are good.

It would be nice to have an API so we could remotely control TiviMate and also opens up other possibilities such as skills for Alexa, Google Home integration, etc.
My idea is an API such as this one from Channels App - https://getchannels.com/api/
As most other people said, you can use Bluestacks emulator on your PC / Mac to run an Android emulator, install the Google Play store, download Tivimate Companion app from Google Play and then subscribe
I could not get Bluestacks to run on my new Mac (not supported yet) so I used this Cloud based Android emulator from GenyMotion instead, started up an Android emulator, installed Google Play and Tivimate Companion and then set up the account. I just used the trial on GenyMotion, didn't cost me anything
Choose the cloud option (SaaS)
Fairly easy to do, drop me a message if you do it this way and get stuck
Get Aurora Store and spoof device to be a Bravia ATV2 or another TV device.
You can also use another IPTV app that is more touchscreen friendly and would probably suit you better. I think XCIPTV is best for Touchscreen.
Touchscreen is on the to do list for Tivimate, but I think Alex has mentioned that he wants to finish the main version first, as the touchscreen version could take a lot of time.
Try buying an extra router and just plug it into one of the Ethernet ports on your ISP's router. I'm in Canada and my ISP's router is obviously locked to their network but I have a second, relatively cheap TP-Link router that I set up to hit ExpressVPN set up to point to the US (in the second router's settings). This second router just works through my ISP's router with zero configuration. My ISP's bandwidth is capped at 50mps but I often get 60-70mps through this second router. If you have an old router sitting around, plug it in and see what happens.
Depends on what protocol you have on your VPN and your Playback settings are inside of TiViMate.
If you use NordVPN. Check if you are TCP or UDP. Then in TiViMate check your Playback setting Buffering size. See if that is set to Zero or Very Large or whatever in between.
UDP is typically better suited for video as it's a protocol that just throws packets like a firehose but doesn't really care in what order they come through. TCP is more reliable in the sense it'll pay attention to the order of packets but this in turn may slow down streaming.
So Settings:
NordVPN on Amazon FireStick: Autoconnect, UDP, CyberSec - Off
TiViMate: Buffer Size - Very Large. Video/Audio Decode - Hardware for both
I had buffering issues until I messed with my settings and kept it this way. Zero buffering so far. Give this a try if you have a chance!
Yeah Tivimate settings...
I just checked the exact location for you...
Settings>Playlists>Playlist name>Xtream Codes Parameters>Output Format>HLS and then hit "Apply"
It might help.
I can see the Ethernet adaptor for sale on Amazon here in the Uk... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Amazon-Ethernet-Adaptor-Remote-models/dp/B01LXP5TXI
Tivimate is only a player. You have to get your own IPTV provider to watch TV. It states so right where you download the app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ar.tvplayer.tv&hl=en\_US&gl=US

>IMPORTANT! TiviMate doesn't provide any TV sources. You need to add a playlist from your IPTV provider to be able to watch live TV channels.
>I got this error this morning as well. Took me a bit to figure out. I use IPVanish and switched my VPN protocol to the new WireGuard. It was my issue. When I switch back to IKEV2 that error code disappears and IPTV works great. Hope that helps.
Hey u/Raildog64 can you provide more details on this? i too have IPvanish setup.
I have raised the issue on their Google Play Page. I just hope the Developers have a see at it. Request you also to update it over there.

Get a VPN that supports WireGuard or a lighter weight VPN protocol (such as the one recently introduced by Express VPN). These protocols are much faster than the traditional VPN protocols. I use the one incl. with NordVPN and the VPN upload / download speeds are just about as good as if no VPN is connected.
Not sure why these other comments are saying it won't work but I connect this to an OTG and it works just fine on my FireStick 4ks. Connect the OTG with out the USB and turn it on and let it load up, then connect the USB and it will ask you if you want to format it and then it works. Then install a file manager like X-Plore and add a folder you want your files to record to. Then in TiviMate settings, change the record path to that.

Side load an apk with Easy Fire Tools.
Tivimate is one of the best for VOD. But if you don't like it you can use Iptv xtream player. And you van chose in its setting to not display live tv so it will work only for VOD
I used it when Tivimate has no VOD support But now Tivimate and only

First you make an account and via that you can pay. Alternatively you can download TiviMate Companion to your Android phone, set up and pay for TiviMate via there and also manage your devices (up to five) from the same place.
Simplest way is to use the backup and restore and send the files from one device to the other with the app Send Files to TV.

This app has saved me a lot of grief. It is pretty bare bones but works well. Basically, it's a clipboard that transfers the copied data from device to device. It allows me to copy my m3u credentials from the gmail on my win10 laptop and paste it onto the clipboard on another device on my network. It works on my Shield and my CCwGTV and my Android tablet. No version yet for my Firestick (but it puked last week and I won't be replacing it.)

Make a backup of TiviMate and install this on both boxes. I use this between two Shields.

The thing is that I only installed TiviMate to try and after multiple attempts, I gave up and downloaded the OTT Platinum player, which worked. So I know that it wasn't working even before I had other apps installed.
I did realize that when I went to troy point to see his list of best IPTV services, it said that PlatinumIPTV didn't work with VPN... could that be the issue? I run NordVPN and it's always enabled. So I assuming using OTT app, it's still running through my VPN. But if TiviMate needs a vpn IPTV, would that be the issue? I disabled VPN to try and it still gave the same 401 error.
I have been having a issue also on ESPN and local started only a few days a Shield Pro, IPVanish, Tivimate Premium and internet speed close to 200 mbps. Very buffer for 3-5 secs then back on for a 10 off again....tried with vpn and no vpn
I connected my NAS drive to my router via ethernet cable and have no issues recording. Router would not accept USB attached storage.
Here's link to device. On sale now on Amazon. Check it out if interested.

Google Play Store of course, everything is there. Make sure to enable Beta access on your Phone/Tablet: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ar.tvplayer.tv
No Stalker Portal VOD support yet, it will come eventually. At least that's what Alex told me, I think he also said it here in this Reddit page. No ETA but coming definitely.
Some VPN apps, the excellent VyprVPN app among them, allow per-application settings on whether to tunnel-through or bypass the VPN for the app.
For me, the benefit of bypassing is for accurate geo-location when I want that, for example for a weather app at my home.
For most users, the benefit of tunneling-through is that their ISP (and others) can't observe what they're doing, what services they're connecting to, etc. For VPN services like VyprVPN that do not log your activities, that's very effective for privacy. (Note that a VPN service that logs may be obligated to share those logs if officially requested by some entitled entity.)
I chose VyprVPN long ago to safeguard my computer in my travels, and to break through some hotel and even national firewalls. It has worked well for me. So I was delighted to find the VyprVPN app available in the Play Store for my new CCwGTV!
Even better: by default it connects via the very modern WireGuard protocol, which is really efficient, secure and fast. I could gripe a bit about some of the app's user-interface's color choices but that's a minor issue.
Once it was installed, I just decided what apps I wanted to tunnel versus bypass (readily changed and updated as you wish, by the way), set VyprVPN to start up automatically on boot-up, et voila.
(It seems wise, though, to periodically open VyprVPN to ensure all is well.)
I was experiencing the same buffering issue on my 4kFS, TM 3.1.5. I also tried changing the buffer size in TM, to no avail. I also tried various combinations of hardware vs software decoders in TM settings, as well as AFR. Again, no improvement. I routinely use IPVanish, so I didn't think it was ISP throttling. I have 6 separate IPTV'S in TM, bc I moderate for each stream. The buffering was characterized by stuttering, audio/video out of sync, and it was occuring in the same Channel I was trying to watch in EACH of the six IPTV'S! My download speed is 100 Mbps, so I don't think speed is the issue. I use 5 GHz wifi bc the FS is six feet from the router and wifi speed is faster than Ethernet. I use the Analiti speed test app.
My solution turned out to be changing the audio setting, in FS Display, FROM, 'best available, TO "stereo." Maybe this will work for you? 🤔🙏👍
I went with this one https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07X1PR3PY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The power brick included with the CCGTV delivers enough power to power the CCGTV + ethernet.
Also, the download speed with Nord VPN connected is about 25 MBPS. Wifi has better download speeds however for hard wired from a power line ethernet connection is pretty good IMO (considering my ISP download speed is 75 MBPS). So a very good purchase.
no luck yet. But if you have android there is an app on the play store called auto sync. You can save the recording to your external hard drive connected to the shield. Then this app will periodically sync for changes and will upload the recording to the cloud as they are completed.
