If you have a PC/laptop, Destiny item manager is more detailed. But for simpler stuff, just moving guns, Ishtar commander is wonderful

You can also add that people can use DIM for managing items very easily on their PC or they can use Ishtar Commander if you're on console and have a mobile phone. Seriously, these things are game changers.

Also, I'd say auto rifles aren't totally unviable for PvP. I have an outlaw/killclip Halfdan-D that shreds in PvP. Age Old Bond is a similar weapon to the Halfdan and there's also the Cerberus +1 just as examples. Other guns can definitely be better but I wouldn't throw out the option completely. Play with what you're comfortable with :)

If you have Android(not sure this app is out on iOS) download the Ishtar Commander. You can transfer stuff from your postmaster to your guardian without going to the tower. Helps prevent a full postmaster and losing items

Alrighty, first thing go download this app called Ishtar Commander. It will help with moving gear around and overall is one of the best apps for destiny. 2nd. Start running strikes and doing SLR. The reason for the app is there's a option to to equip all your highest level gear to your character when they are in the tower. It is built into the app. The reason u want to do this is when you decrypt engrams (blues and above) they will be your light level or a little higher. So you always want to wear your highest lvl gear when you open engrams. From there is honestly a light level grind. Play the game, have fun. Do bounties, play some pvp. Best way to level up quick would be Archons Forge. My trick so that you get into a large group already in the forge is Crouch walk right as you walk into the building that leads to the Forge. You are more likely to get into a group of people already in the forge and The forge can be difficult by yourself.

My bad, when you mentioned it being off topic and referred to ghosts I thought you meant finding dead ghosts specifically haha.

What most people are saying is the options for that currently are thinned because the API is blocked. I use Destiny Item Manager to manage the equipment I already have. It does have the quality % on armor rolls. Sounds like some folks use Ishtar Commander, but I do not know all the functionality there.

Edit: Just to be clear this time, this does not show you what the vendors are offering, but what you currently own. What the vendors are offering is completely unavailable right now because Bungie is blocking the API. So nobody has that access without going in game.

By the way, you can also use Ishtar Commander for Android or Apple or Destiny Item Manager for a computer to use the vault while doing missions or exploring. Super useful since you don't need to fly to the farm or whatever every single time you want to equip a different weapon (you'll get to a point where you have more than you can fit in your inventory)

I use ishtar commander since it has very handy maxmalise light level(searches across all characters and vault for weapons and armor which can be equpied), return to previous gear(it even sends items back to vault other characters) and custom loadouts.

While not a website, the Ishtar Commander app is the best item manager.

If not DIM, then one of the other inventory management et al tools out there. It'll save you having to go to the Tower for your Vault, plus everything else OP mentioned.

D2 Checklist - allows you to check gear, armor, vendors, mods, all kinds of useful shit

Keep in mind with both DIM and D2 Checklist, you can import a wish list of perks on a weapon or armor piece that you're after, and it'll give a thumbs up on that item if it matches what you're after. Super fucking helpful for quickly IDing god rolls.

General Purpose

Light.gg - an all-purpose tool for checking your collection, what perks weapons/armor can roll with, triumps you're missing, etc
Lowlidev - great for checking collectibles and additional information with interactive maps
Destiny Sets - this'll show you what items you've yet to collect
The 100 - Great tool for finding a clan that fits your schedule/play style

I'm sure others have TONS of tools out there, but find the one that fits your style. I don't have these apps open 100% of the time, but I jump between a few to find what I need for that moment, or some downtime at work to manage inventory. If that's one thing I can fault the game for is the lack of in game inventory management tools that things like DIM can offer.

Both are legit. Nothing to worry about. They both just call the publicly available API released by Bungie. They aren't capable of deleting items, if you're worried about that (the API doesn't support that).

I can't play Destiny without one of them. Especially if you have multiple characters, using an inventory management app is almost necessary if you value your sanity.

Chrome Browser - Destiny Item Manager (DIM) or Tower Ghost - I use DIM more than Tower Ghost now. They pretty much match feature for feature and DIM seems to run just a bit faster and smoother on my PC.
iOS - Ishtar Commander (Android Version) - The ONLY app I can recommend for mobile. IC works great even on my old iPad (3rd gen). IC's interface is VERY friendly and maneuverable on small phone screens too. My only nag about it is quality grading - IC uses a simplified Gold/Silver/Bronze system where as the desktop apps above use a more finite percentage grading. Still, for basic inventory management IC is GREAT.

That's a good one. I personally prefer DIM or Ishtar Commander (though Loadouts is still in the works).

I don't remember where the interview was, but I believe Mark Noseworthy has confirmed this won't be supported in-game. There are third-party resources like Ishtar Commander (apple | android), as well as Destiny Item Manager that do support this, and are really excellent resources for item management in Destiny.

They will be supporting Destiny 2, but they have said that there will be a delay between launch and support.

What is best is subjective because of the perks that will be useful for you. The main thing people focus on is stats. Tier-12 (meaning you can light up 12 of the Intelligence, Strength, and Discipline tiers in combination) is what most focus on reaching along with 400 light. The perks just need to fit your preferred playstyle (such as reload and ammo perks for weapon types you use most often).

To see the "tier" capability of your gear use an inventory manager such as Destiny Item Manager, Tower Ghost, Ishtar Commander [iOS / Android], etc. Most apps (I use DIM) will show you the quality rating of your gear (more accurate the higher light the gear is). In DIM for example - 96%-99% Tier-12 possible, 91%-95% Tier-11, 86%-90% Tier-10, less than 85% is basically junk for stats.

After the story stuff is completed and the seasonal story stuff is competed whats left to do is level up using the gold star objectives. They reward powerful or pinnacle gear.
The next cap is called powerful cap (only powerful, pinnacle or prime engrams will get you there). This season that cap is 1560. Once at 1560 the only way to level is through pinnacle items, that goes to 1570. Every season it goes up by 10, so next season soft cap will be 1520, power 1570 and pinnacle will be 1580.

The reason leveling up is the next step is so you can start doing harder content. maybe do higher diffculty nightfalls, maybe do a raid, or a dungeon. Basically you are at the point of the game where its do what ever you want. Do you want to do the hardest content? Maybe you want to make a cool build, so you need to find the weapons to make it work.

If you'd like to instead use your phone: You can actually still use DIM, but I personally prefer Ishtar Commander (Apple/Android)

There are other phone apps for inventory management, but I prefer those two overall.

Note: Those both authenticate via Bungie, so you don't have to worry about giving your password to some 3rd party.

Additionally, you can simply head to the tower in game, deposit something into the vault, swap characters, and pull the item out of the vault on that other character.

This last website's UI is a little odd. The list shows everything, and tapping on an item MOVES it to the character/vault selected at the top. So if you want to move items into the Vault, you'd select Vault on the top row and then tap items. To move something to a character, you do the same. Select the character first and then tapping items will move them to it. The search filtering is a God-send for slogging through items for infusing.

Cross-damage weapon archetypes are nice, but they do introduce a level of tedium for managing infusions.

Now, if you want a whole OTHER level of confusion, just WAIT until you get to legendary MODS... That's a whole other clusterf*ck of hassles.
