Basically it states that sleep is required to switch the brain from processing of data from external sensors (eyes, ears etc.) to internal ones, like receptors in intestines, and do the adjustments accordingly. In his works he shows that if one stimulates e.g. the intestine of a sleeping animal it causes the response in visual cortex which is very similar to the response to flickers of light during the day, whilst there is no such response in waking state. >This happened last weekend, my parents were out of town and I was reading this AskReddit thread when I got to this comment. I realized I had one of these in my house but haven't used it for years. So I went upstairs, got out the 1990's version of this contraption, strapped myself in, and started to recline. The thing flipped me over pretty fast and locked in place, completely vertical. At first it felt really good, my lower back cracked in places it hadn't before, but since I was completely upside down, blood started to rush to my head quickly and soon it was time to flip back up. This is when I realized that I didn't know how to come back up, I was seriously locked in place upside down, hanging by my ankles. I struggled for a few minutes trying different ways to escape this contraption, but I couldn't do it. Then I started to panic, I'm thinking to myself how my embarrassing its gonna be when I die this way. Eventually after hanging upside down for a way too long, I decide enough is enough. I sat up, so I could reach my feet and yanked on the little spring loaded knob that was holding my feet in place. It popped open and I fell onto the hardwood floor, with all my weight, on my neck. Now my neck is fucked up, but at least I didn't die taking advice from Reddit. > >TLDR: I tried to stretch out my back and ended up destroying my neck.

>Ever since I watched this video of a boxer getting motivated in the corner between rounds by his coach, it fascinated me. The focus of the boxer, the energy of the coach the belief that he had in him, you can see in both of their faces, just unreal... It gave me goosebumps. I really wanted to replicate that feeling by myself and I couldn’t just find some guy to shout at me every day so I decided to be that guy myself. The boxer and the coach. I started reading motivational books, printing motivational quotes and hanging them everywhere. Talking to myself in the mirror, repeating all those phrases, believing in myself. Every morning in the shower reading the quotes of my shower curtain getting hyped and ready for a new challenge. I started to be more confident, more enthusiastic about everything. I noticed the change in my attitude, it became more positive. I am just riding this thing and I recommend everyone just to try this and I guarantee you, you will see changes immediately. My point is surround yourself with positive thoughts and repeat them to yourself, some of you might think it’s lame but at some point I swear to god you will feel like shouting that stuff in public!

>I know we normally stick to discussing the actual act of cooking but I found a good deal on an Amazon best selling product so I thought it was worth sharing. There's a 50% discount on the #1 best selling cooking scale which drops the price from $15 to $7.5 You just need to use the promo code PRONTOME on checkout and make sure to buy from Moderna Housewares LLC on the "Other Sellers On Amazon" column for the code to work. >Hey, > >My initial post about the Flow Free devs forcing me to rename my unrelated game City Flow because it contained the word Flow was fairly popular, so here's an update. > >After discussions with their lawyers, and help from /u/videogameattorney, we discovered that they own the word "flow" in any Android puzzle game. > >As such, I've renamed City Flow to Connect Quest, and changed subreddit from /r/CityFlow to /r/ConnectQuest. > >Do I think this is ridiculous? Absolutely. Do I have any other option? Nope, at least not within my budget. > >Thank you for all your support and advice, I'm as sorry as anyone about the outcome! > >Feel free to give the game a go, and make sure to check your game's market for any ridiculous one-word trademarks before launch! > >Jake > >---- > >Edit: As pointed out in the comments, I guess "I lost" isn't accurate, even if it feels like it. I chose not to mount a legal case, because the game had earned <$100, and wasn't available for download until the issue was resolved. I decided on letting people playing the game under a new name ASAP, not fighting an expensive legal battle.

>Hi Guys, I would like to share my first app with you guys so that it may improve your life or the life of a loved one, even if its just a little bit. > >It is a text to speech app that changes from English to Spanish at the touch of a button. It basically speaks out through the phone's speakers what you type in. > >I made it with my girlfriend's uncle in mind, he is mute. So we sent him one of my older phones with the app already installed (He lives in Dominican Republic and didn't have a smartphone). I know there must be dozens of these apps in the PlayStore but as I looked at what was available, they all looked like apps developed in the Android 2.1 days. Either that or it didn't quite focus on the Text to Speech portion and tried to do many other things which made things convoluted. So I decided to make one that I would like to use, simple clean design and straight to the point. > >I also use this app to make fun of my friends when they make bad moves, while playing black ops III online. While most of them already caught on that its me already, Its still hilarious to hear the semi robotic voice saying things it wouldn't or shouldn't be saying lol. > >So if you guys know someone who is mute, or lost their voice due to an accident or is recovering from surgery, please share this app with them.
