Atleast we've gotten the grimoire anthology book. Hopefully they keep making those
Edit: They just announced a second vol and a vol of comics
Well, it has to elude to that, or his secret stash of Alexa-enabled Ghost bluetooth repeater speakers.

...I mean, someone had to buy all those things, right?
> so how can we trust anything from these entries
hoo hoo hoo
Yeah, the basic principle is the choose-your-own-adventure game, but those are pretty hard to do with linear text. If Bungie wanted to do something completely insane they might have implemented something like twine.
>I mean Russia also existed
They call it "old russia", implying that it's just territory that used to be Russia, but now is just whatever it was during the Golden Age instead.
>the North American Empire

The only time this is mentions is by Master Rahool as in-game dialogue in the Destiny 1 Tower. He says something like "early Golden Age, North American Empire..." implying that the empire didn't last.
>according to lore nation states ceased to exist
It doesn't ever actually say that. I know the entries you're thinking of, the Kraken Mare ones.
The administrator calls the nation states "outmoded concepts" or something like that, and there are implications that most of them are gone now.
However we know for certain that China remained until the very end, as China Aerospace is who built all the Luna colony stuff on the moon.

>universal laws that apply to everyone
The main lore writer, Seth Dickinson, is a big fan of Malka Older, who wrote a book trilogy called Infomocracy which is about a post-nation-state near future.
I encourage you to check Infomocracy out, as it's probably in the ballpark of what the Golden Age's political scene was like outside of the few holdout-Nation-states like China.

Looks like Elsie is indeed the Exo Stranger. The secret message in Rasputin's bunker has been decoded:
>thank you for taking the time to piece together this message, friend. the time of our final conflict is drawing closer and you and ana have an important role to play in the events to come. so watch over her, guardian. i would have no life without ana or the exoprogram. i regret that we have become strangers, but we each have a path that we must walk. and, ironically, there never seems to be enough time. tell her, rasputin’s first attempt was in the right location, but the wrong moment. look here: 43.549573, -73.544868 - e
That final "e" hints strongly at it being Elsie. Italics are mine.

>!So it's from the perspective of an Exo, recovered memory, including internal monologues. He's worried someone, I assume Clovis, can read his thoughts, and he can... posthumously.!<
>!Yep, it's Clovis, but AI-Clovis? Not quite Exo-Clovis? So did Clovis use himself as the neural template for an AI, something bigger than human but smaller than a Warmind? As ever, Clovis not wanting to permanently re-instantiate himself postmortem until he's got a chance at Perfect Life, but he's got an AI replica because it's more Him than anyone else, and he can't let anyone else handle His Legacy.!<
>!Nice use of "Explains where we are" to avoid saying exactly where they are.!<
>!Clovis is, once again, fine with huge swaths of human death, and his legacy.!<
>!If I didn't know she's alive, I'd be saying they're setting Death Flags for Stranger here.!<
>!So, knowing as I do there are spoilers ahead, I bet this unnamed Exo is someone we know, but knowing Bungie it'll be a character only really mentioned in lorebooks and exotic flavour texts.!<
I got mine back in January. Looks to be out of stock on Amazon right now but says it’s coming back in a few days.
Destiny: Grimoire Anthology - Dark Mirror (Volume 1) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1789091373/
There is one you can pay for from D1, which is exactly what I based this one off :) For USA, Amazon is probably the best place to get it. Note that it is only a very small part of D1's lore, but IMO it contains two of the best parts. The next volume is also coming out closer to the end of the year, I think.
My guess...same as any other Titan...read about war and how to fight. It would not surprise me to find "The Art of War" and "The Five Rings" in some library in the Tower. Hunters..."Betting for Dummies" and "Poker for Dummies" would be a start, if they come in from the wild every once in a while. Warlocks are the book collectors, they have all the nice copies of the books above that they don't let the Titans or Hunters touch! :)
Good work! To add to this theory, I have found this interesting seven-planet orbit model on Rasputin's core terminal during the "Data Recovery" quest mission. So it is very possible that the seven seraphs was a program to maintain and oversee the operation of all seven major Warminds across the solar system from Mercury to Uranus. Assuming Uriel is a Warmind then it is probably based around Uranus due to the proximity of the name to one of Uranus's moons known as Ariel although they should not be confused with each other.

Perspective is everything.
"To rend one's enemies is to see them not as equals, but objects—hollow of spirit and meaning." - 13th Understanding, 7th Book of Sorrow
Endeavor to be better than the Hive.
In any case, I won't argue over trivialities about who has what or why a group is weaponized to the teeth in the face of a universe that chews up and spits out sapient races like old gum.
My end point, and I don't wish to continue this further, is that you've presented insufficient evidence to counter that we aren't the antagonists of this story.
Repeating what we all already know about the Guardian's presented perspective doesn't aid in further understanding your enemies or their motivations.
The case can be made, and supported by evidence on multiple occasions as I've presented, that we're the cause of our own hardship.
It isn't "Hippie bullshit", born from substance abuse.
It's Sun Tsu and "The Art of War", one of the most prolific works in the history of man.
now im just imagining a scene where The Haul randomly spits out the Official Destiny Cookbook, and upon discovering it, Drifter wonders who the hell "Victoria Rosenthal" is and how she got such detailed info about his eating habits
If I had to do it again I would probably say "Links between the Eliksni and Old Testament Religion and the subsequent diaspora" since I don't think anything in her really ties into Judaism past the Bar Kokhba revolt.
...
But I guess there is this book.
If you are interested, Discord is free and available on Mobile as well, but we have a little community of people and some trusted sources that like to talk through theories, general/basic info, and other stuff, but it's helped develop some theories that go up on here. It seems he declares Carrhae White around when the Titan stuff happens, which I think is a few months after the Pell probe, and also a few months after the first Exodus ships (since Exodus Green mentions some of the ships went missing before their launch). That gives the Black Armory at least a few months to get set up, although i think they do mention a timeframe of years.
One thing that's worth noting with Ghost Fragment: Darkness is that the "timestamp" code goes from 001 -> 091, and normally it only goes (for example) from 001 -> 002. Which might indicate that the document persisted over quite a long time. So it's possible that at the beginning he detects a "transient near extrasolar event" and it's only a few months later that he declares "carrhae white".
>The fall isn't quick. It happens over weeks and months: cataclysmic disasters, natural and unnatural, flattening human settlements on every planet || that I have made, I have shaped, my work, laid flat ||. Earthquakes. Tidal waves. Solar flares. Cyclones, sinkholes, exploding lakes, wildfires. Unknown, untreatable plagues raze populations in hours. Water goes black with unknown poisons || forced down my throat ||. The ground opens up and swallows entire cities || and I am sick sick sick ||.
There's also this from the Speaker, which is probably the most recent update we've had. Like "The Collapse" wasn't really as simple as the Pyramids showing up. That's mostly what makes it all so difficult to place - there's so much overlap that it's easier to find a narrative flow rather than a chronological one.
I suppose another thing is how long did the Traveler take to get from Io to Earth?
I'll send this if it helps:

That's about as close as I could get things making sense right now

I've got this on the Dark Age if you're interested in it. It's not 100% finished yet (especially the formatting), but it should be alright for now. The entries are altered slightly to try to make the whole thing flow better (although I tried to be a unintrusive as possible) so if you want to read the canon entries then just click on the links provided.

Hm, how's this look then?
For contest, Amara.
Yeah sure! Not a rickroll. I read the whole thing in an hour, it's not long but I read pretty slow
I want to make a longer point about the self identifying with the community, and the importance of ritual (religious, but also otherwise) to establish and maintain bonds with others, and how at a low level acting for the betterment of your immediate society and family is a very powerful survival strategy, and how humankind—and notably men—seem to find meaning in responsibility and being a rock for others to shelter in. That at a -low level- our morality guidance mechanisms make us feel satisfaction for doing things that help others, and unsurprisingly we evaluate this as a good thing. And how these realizations have been rather surprising as someone who is an economist, atheist and individualist. But the more I type, the more it sounds like it'd require a full essay, and I'm about to go out for brunch.
