>You have a ship and a crew and you explore the galaxy in a top down view. You go into space stations to buy/sell stuff, upgrade your ship and people, and grab missions. Then you go take your ship to different places to free colonies or whatever, sometimes your ship itself gets boarded by pirates sometimes you board theirs.
>
>This is where the XCOM style play comes in, when your ship gets boarded it's turn-based tactical combat on your ship; like in FTL, each room has a specific function that helps you in combat.
>
>You can also use mining equipment to mine asteroids.
>
>Anyway, I have nothing to do with the developer but I was really impressed with the game at PAX and their Kickstarter is really struggling right now. The guy I met at PAX was their lead artist and he was really nice and passionate about his work and this game. The art in the game is really nice, although graphically there's a lot of work to be done before it can be called a good looking game. Especially when it comes to the UI, but it'll get there.

Happily, I found no proof of anaffair, but in a file with my name on it that I found on the desktop - in it was a docnamed “candidate IOF guide” which caught my attention. Since “Eternal September,” however, it seems to me the fate of any online community is to thrive for a time, and then flame out spectacularly due to some economic or political fallout. I’m currently looking at Hacker News as the next site to migrate to, but this particular community is too acutely aware of the problem and has managed through policy to tightly limit publicity and topic focus to avoid growing too large, limiting its usefulness to me. I’ve also noticed that the various subreddits I’ve subscribed to over the years have gotten slightly “out of sync” with the surrounding culture at large, and I can no longer rely on Reddit as a sole form of current events anymore. I do understand more recent social media venues have taken up some of the slack, but my preferred form of communication online are posted medium-length messages, not the hyper-abbreviated “sound byte” like posts which are the current fad. > >Anyone else of you in this community have suggestions for alternate info feeds? While I plan to stay here as long as I can, 8+ years is a very long time by online standards, and it’s only a matter of time that another community migration takes place. Basically it states that sleep is required to switch the brain from processing of data from external sensors (eyes, ears etc.) to internal ones, like receptors in intestines, and do the adjustments accordingly. >Ever since I watched this video of a boxer getting motivated in the corner between rounds by his coach, it fascinated me. The focus of the boxer, the energy of the coach the belief that he had in him, you can see in both of their faces, just unreal... It gave me goosebumps. I really wanted to replicate that feeling by myself and I couldn’t just find some guy to shout at me every day so I decided to be that guy myself. The boxer and the coach. I started reading motivational books, printing motivational quotes and hanging them everywhere. Talking to myself in the mirror, repeating all those phrases, believing in myself. Every morning in the shower reading the quotes of my shower curtain getting hyped and ready for a new challenge. I started to be more confident, more enthusiastic about everything. I noticed the change in my attitude, it became more positive. I am just riding this thing and I recommend everyone just to try this and I guarantee you, you will see changes immediately. My point is surround yourself with positive thoughts and repeat them to yourself, some of you might think it’s lame but at some point I swear to god you will feel like shouting that stuff in public!
