Apparently Greenify is no longer needed because Oreo does the same thing by default.
I've been using L Speed for a few months now and it's made a noticeable improvement to battery life.
If you are still on custom ROM and rooted, give this app a try. The balanced setting is fairly great but I dont notice too much of a performance loss with battery mode. Went from 3 hours SOT to 4-5 depending on usage. 4.5 hours is pretty average for me and I use my phone. Turn on aggressive doze and see your standby time shoot up as well.
I've been experimenting for a while now with running L Speed and enabling the "Performance" profile. I do feel like it actually makes my phone snappier, but YMMV.
Try L Speed (yeah, I hate the name as well), for battery calibration and some optimizations. Worked great for my Nexus 6P.
If you are interested in experimenting with performance tuning:
Kernel Adiutor (not a typo :-) )
You haven't mentioned which processor, phone, ROM etc you're using. There's no universal accepted settings that's good for all CPUs and ROMs. It also depends on your usage, your environment, your requirements.
Eg, maybe you play a lot of games, in which case you should be focusing on tweaking your GPU and reducing background tasks. But maybe you multitask a lot so you'd want more background tasks and better CPU responsiveness. Or maybe you want better battery life and don't mind lag. It all depends on you and your device setup.
But acceptable also depends on your average room temperature, if it's summer and it gets really hot then your phone won't be to dissipate heat very well.
\2. As mentioned earlier, it all depends. But setting everything to performance is a bad idea, as that will drain your battery fast. Interactive, ondemand or even conservative would be better in terms of battery.
If you're focusing on games, then tweak GPU and play with the low-memory-kill values so that it's a bit more aggressive, so that you'll have more resources for your games.
Also, I highly recommend checking out Advanced Kernel Tweaks. People have reported good results with Ghostpepper and Project Zhana profiles. Alternative, you could try L Speed instead, it does similar stuff to AKT but it's more automated and user friendly, but it doesn't give you many options in terms of profiles.
L-Speed is a boost and performance enhancer app. I also didn't know about it.
If you don't, you can use L Speed. In my experience, this app proves more effective than using lineageOS battery profiles.
I installed this app and battery life has increased comparatively
I enabled it with this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.paget96.lspeed
Try this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.paget96.lspeed&hl=en
No lags!!!
Try using L Speed.
If I'm not mistaken, with this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.paget96.lspeed
Try using this app. Helped me a lot with saving battery juice
Forgot to add, this app has helped a lot. It actually works :) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.paget96.lspeed
