Do not rely on your memory. You will forget.
If you have something important you need to remember or do, write it down. Create a reminder.
I still fall into the trap of thinking that I will remember something later and 99 times out of 100 I fail to do so and it causes me or other people problems.
For the Android users out there check out Life Reminders.
Other Stuff
I am a Software Engineer so many of my coping mechanisms are coping applications that I have created to solve problems I face.
If you would like to check them out here's the projects page on my website.
I'll write more later as I need to get back to work.
Edit:
If a solution isn't working, try something else.

When I come across a problem I have I will try to solve it. If my solution isn't working I will try something else. I will keep thinking of new solutions and applying them until I find the right one that works.
This applies to EVERYTHING in your daily life. Whether it's figuring out the best place to leave your keys so you don't lose them, finding the best app to remind you to do things or whatever problem you face.
Adapt or fail. I chose to adapt.
There's lots of resources on the net that will list things you can do to be more attentive and considerate when you search for them.
One thing to consider is using your smartphone more efficiently. Let's face it, many of us guys are not as considerate as we need to be. We just forget or never even think about things we should do. But if you use a calendar or reminder app to remind you daily of things you need to do, especially regarding her, that's a worthy use of your phone. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.payneservices.LifeReminders&hl=en
I use Google Calendar along with Life Reminders. It's an android reminder application that is very, very robust and often times much easier to use than a Calendar.
I'd suggest Life Reminders
Sounds like it meets your needs. Your can set it up to do a notification with popup and various persistent options.

This is a kludge, but what you could do is set an alarm for Friday at 8:55 am and then choose "skip next alarm" twice (skipping 4/13 and 4/20).
I don't think the built-in alarm clock has "skip next alarm". I use Alarm Clock Plus.
I haven't tried it yet but someone else recommended https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.payneservices.LifeReminders&hl=en
I have a reminder app set to go off every night to remind me to take my prenatal. I found a time that typically works for me and haven't had any issues. As for temping, I have an alarm that goes off at 6:00, but I'm in the habit of snoozing until I actually get up around 6:20. So I temp at the first alarm and go back to sleep for a few more mins before starting my routine. My thermometer comes with an alarm, which could be handy. If yours doesn't, something that might help would be changing your alarm until you form the habit. Like change the alarm tone if you use your phone, or use your phone instead of an alarm clock. Maybe that change will subconsciously trigger something to help you remember in the mornings?
Life reminders app. It's a cell phone app that allows you to pre program text messages to yourself and others. Also boomerang app for the same function in gmail. I've pre programed texts to people on their birthdays, reminders for myself, preprogramed texts to confirm meetings, cancel meetings, schedule meetings, etc. I use it constantly. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.payneservices.LifeReminders&hl=en&referrer=utm_source%3Dgoogle%26utm_medium%3Dorganic%26utm_term%3Dlife+reminders+app&pcampaignid=APPU_1_2HLtVcvPN8quogStnamwDw
I used Life Reminder food a couple of years. Very flexible. I really appreciated the persistent and recurring alarms... IIRC, this fits your criteria very well, with subsequent alarms at timed intervals

I have been using "life reminders" the paid version for years. Personally it's worth every cent.

The free version is already really good.
if you don't want to replace your current texting apps like others are suggesting. I use app called Life Reminders . Not pretty but still gets up rated and hasn't failed me.
Honestly, I am a to-do/task/organising app junkie. I think I have pretty much tried every app on the Play Store haha - my current to-do app (LifeReminders) is the one I have stuck with the longest, it's nothing fancy and at first I was dubious, but it is seriously the easiest way to enter quick reminders, categorise if you want, people to call (with contact attached so one tap call), etc. It's a free one too :) an ADHD support group leader recommended it to me.

The closest I've found are Life Reminders (which is ugly as sin) and BZ Reminder (which I don't think has a popup to snooze notifications, but I could be wrong since I don't have an android phone and just tried it with bluestacks).
You can schedule texts with this app. I do not know how to check compatibility with older android versions. I used it years ago though.
Life Reminders on Android. Don't know about iPhone.
