Of these 2 I'd go with Google.
But you have tons of Google Drive alternatives out there for Android. Shop around.

Back when I wanted more storage, I used Mega
Yes, mega has an android app. But make sure your tablet can play 10bit x265 before you download them as a lot of content here these days is x265.

I use mega instead of drive and it works and backups photos amongst other things. You can get it here
Seems nextcloud and self hosting our best but I don't have the infrastructure for that
Firstly, I did't know anything about ROMs, I started digging in the internet and took me alot to understand whats ROMs. Secondly, I started the process of changing ROMs two weeks ago. I backed up everything on my google drive. My movies, Long Videos and big size files copyied them on my PC (I used MEGA to backup GCAM and Music) Lastly, I unlocked bootloader (it took me ages to unlock it) and flashed Pixel Experience ROM from a video instructions and restored my backup after I signed in to my google account.
Can't really reupload files now as my internet is also very slow and now throttled due to quarantine.
I advice to use download managers on your phone like the maga downloader app or ADM or something similar downloader that supports presumable downloads
Here you go! you will need to install the Mega app first tho so Here it is too!
On Android, use the MEGA app (Play Store link), to download the whole folder.
You do not need an account to use the app to download stuffs.
Look I've done it here: https://streamable.com/z106g
First find a spot to put the extracted folders on your phone (using whatever file explorer you use). Download the mega app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mega.privacy.android.app) You may need to sign up for it but it's free. Go to the link I posted and you'll be asked to open it with mega or your browser, choose mega. And choose which file to download. Then use Rar (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rarlab.rar) and navigate to the archive (the file will end in ".rar") you just downloaded. Select it and choose the icon that looks like a stack of books and an arrow pointing up. Then choose where you want to extract it. This file may take a little bit to extract because it's kind of big. If you've got any questions dm me.
Hi, are you using the official MEGA app to upload the files in Android? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mega.privacy.android.app
If so, could you send us a link or more information to and we can try to see what is happening?
About the future of MEGA, be sure: MEGA is not going to disappear at all. More info here: https://www.mega.nz/#blog_40
Thanks!

Is MEGA installed on your device? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mega.privacy.android.app
First, go to mega.nz and create an account if you do not have one already. You will need a valid E-mail address and you must have access to it.
Next, follow the steps for your device:
Desktop instructions:
Sign into MEGA in the client and it will begin syncing with MEGA.
Once it has finished syncing, you can either move documents into the MEGA folder, or (optionally) you can create a symbolic link to them. To create a symbolic link to a folder on Windows, shift-right-click in the MEGA folder, click "Open command window here", and use mklink /J Foldername C:\Path\To\Foldername
. To create a symbolic link on Mac/Linux, open a Terminal in the MEGA folder or navigate to there using cd
, and use ln -s /path/to/foldername
. MEGA will recognize the new files and begin syncing them.
Mobile instructions:
Download the app for Android or download the app for iOS or download the app for BlackBerry.
Sign into MEGA in the app. You can now download individual files and folders to your device.
Unfortunately, there is no way to sync folders on mobile. You're limited to downloading individual files and folders. Files added to downloaded folders are not synced.
Web browser instructions:
Download the Chrome/Chromium extension or download the Firefox extension.
Just use the MEGA website normally, and it will now work properly for downloading files.
if your phone is andorid, you can use mega https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mega.privacy.android.app&hl=es_419

You can read the code. You can use the software. Here you go: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mega.privacy.android.app
I don't want to redistribute his work, but, you can open the link if you have Mega installed.
The Android client is on Google Play , but all of their clients are open source if you don't want to d/l from there or Aurora.
People usually upload it to Dropbox and share a single link specifically just for that file.
I personally use Mega Cloud Storage, it's fantastic. I upload it to there and share the link for it.
I can recommend Mega https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mega.privacy.android.app
It offers 50GB Free Storage.
