If you install Mouse Toggle for Fire TV (N.B. an app on the Google Play store / apple app store, not Amazon app store!) you can use the menu and fast forward buttons on the remote like a mouse wheel to scroll up and down. Might be worth trying it out before buying a travel router
You need an Android (or iOS) device to both load the app and start the service on the newer fire tv devices
Mouse toggler is on the Google Play Store or iOS App Store. You install it on your phone and then it connects to your FireTV device to enable it's functions.

Mouse toggle app may be cheaper than a Bluetooth mouse, it's useful for a bunch of Android apps not designed for TV
I've found the app Mouse Toggle for Fire TV to be invaluable when running third-party android apps that expect a touchscreen.
It basically allows you to emulate a mouse using the fire tv remote control

I have used this mouse app with great results. Or this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fluxii.android.mousetoggleforfiretv&hl=en
I have it working with the v4.3.26 APK. It's quite a pain, I had to use this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2331514) to force the Dish Anywhere app to launch always in Landscape mode and that fixed some of the bugs, then I use Mouse Toggle (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fluxii.android.mousetoggleforfiretv&hl=en) to let me double-click the FTV play button and go into "mouse mode". Use on-screen pairing to pair with your Hopper, it's much easier than trying to log in with your Dish username/password.
Let me know if you have any specific questions and I'll try to help but know that it DOES work!
edit : one thing I forgot to add, before you install the v4.3.26 force quit and clear all app data for the v3.x versions, then uninstall that APK. I found if there was anything left behind of v3.x then v4 would crash on start.
can anyone recommend a "mouse toggle" like app that works on a9 or a10 tv os boxes?
the only working solution i can find are ones that turn your cellphone into a tv box airmouse.
reviewer/buyers are claiming this does NOT work even after they paid for the app;

Maybe the difference is that I have Mouse Toggle installed:

This lets you use the remote as a mouse to select boxes. I use it when my Cube 1st Gen.
The Firefox in amazon app store isn't the full Firefox though. What the hell is it?
(I sideloaded the real Firefox and use it with Mouse Toggle for Fire TV
I use FFUpdater from f-droid to install/update full Firefox. Keep in mind you will also need Mouse Toggle for Fire TV to use the full browser.
Not exactly what you're looking for, but Mouse Toggle for Fire TV lets you use the fire tv remote control as a mouse
There is an app that turns the fire tv remote control into a mouse, you load it from an android phone
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fluxii.android.mousetoggleforfiretv
If you don't have an android phone there are APKs hanging around
I'm using the latest update of ShowBox with Mouse Toggle. Just sideload it and that should solve your ShowBox issues. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fluxii.android.mousetoggleforfiretv
The Dev is working hard on using the app with Firesticks.
Your friends could try this in the meantime,
Use remote as a mouse.

They may be talking about Mouse Toggle for Fire TV (play store) which turns your physical remote control into a mouse
I haven't tried it just yet but I was going to install the full Spotify Android app and use Mouse Toggle for Fire TV to control it and see just how clunky it would be...
Perhaps you can scroll down further using Mouse Toggle for Fire TV? The scroll down is the fast forward key on the remote while it's active; check the help section in the app for all features.
You can use the fantastic Mouse Toggle for Fire TV to bring up a mouse pointer which allows you to click anywhere.
Same for me. I put the password in first, click next and then it fell back to the username field and I was able to finally log in after many tries.
I used the app build from the link from /r/deepblue432 above (Thank you!)
Navigation is grueling. I have to use a combo of the firetv remote for Android phone app and the Mouse Toggle app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fluxii.android.mousetoggleforfiretv&hl=en
Impossible to scroll below the bottom of the screen and can only use search to find live tv
I personally can't wait for Android TV support. Here is the next best solution I use for my stick
This app is made for using the fire TV controller.

It's worth its weight in gold. Double tap the play button to switch to mouse mode. Single click to go back to regular mode. Use click wheel to move around
have you tried the Mouse Toggle for FireTV app? Does it need scroll functionality? Comcast xfinity tvgo app did and this what I use...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fluxii.android.mousetoggleforfiretv&hl=en
directions: http://android.fluxii.com/mousetoggle/
I use the xfinity go app, just side-load as you would any app. When open the app login as usual, the downfall of the app is that is meant for touchscreen, therefore you need a mouse app that gives you "scroll" functionality.
This app gives you the functionality: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fluxii.android.mousetoggleforfiretv&hl=en
Directions for mouse toggle can be found here: http://android.fluxii.com/mousetoggle/
Also could use a bluetooth mouse for right-click scrolling feature.
ok so I spent some time on this last night, and did finally get live streaming working on my Fire Stick - here's how I did it:
Download the Dish Anywhere APK (google for it) and sideload using ADBFire or your preferred method. You will be able to start the app but there's no way past the Terms and Conditions screen.
Install this app (99c) - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fluxii.android.mousetoggleforfiretv The only way I found to install it was to download to another Android device (Nexus 7 in my case) and run it, the app will search for any Fire devices and you can push the app to them. If anyone has another way I'd love to hear it.
Once installed on the Fire Stick, start Dish Anywhere and use the Mouse Toggle (double-click play/pause) to activate mouse mode, then you can click on the Accept button. Dish Anywhere will prompt you to log in to your Dish account. I couldn't find any way to type in my username, using mouse mode I could click in the box and the keyboard would appear, but then I'd have to exit mouse mode to enter anything and when I did the keyboard disappeared.
However, there's another option to log in - select the "Use Onscreen Pairing" option. Now go to your TV where the Hopper is, and you'll see a code. Write this code down, now back at the Fire Stick you can enter that code. Once entered, it will pair with the Hopper and the main Dish Anywhere app will open!
You'll get a warning about not being an up to date Google Services, just ignore that.
You need to use mouse mode to navigate in the app, but I found it pretty simple to select "live tv", then use the on-screen remote to change channels.
So that's it - it's not the best solution but it works until Dish gives us a native app (which doesn't look likely). I'm just happy I can now stream Dish to any TV in the house!
There's Mouse Toggle. It adds mouse-like functionality to the stock remote. It works ok if you have no other mouse.
After the stock remote, my favorite is Remote Mouse for Fire TV, followed by the Logitech K400 (when it's $20).
use mouse toggle for mouse functionality for firetv stick
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fluxii.android.mousetoggleforfiretv&hl=en
Your options are:
Use a Remote mouse app like Remote for Fire TV or Mouse Toggle for Fire TV
Connect a bluetooth mouse or keyboard w/ touchpad
Send a touch command using ADB
You can also sideload a web browser and use Mouse Toggle for Fire TV to operate it, using streams in this sub
Another option is using the actual remote control as a mouse. This app is fantastic and well worth the price

Latest apk (arm7) works fine , for mouse control use (sideload) the Mouse Toggle.

To navigate apps not made for firetv.
Mouse Toggle for Fire TV

mouse toggle for fire tv has always let me use normal Android apps on fire tv, it's a really clever utiloty
You can use any Android app with Mouse toggle for fire tv although it won't be as nice of an experience
You should try it with Mouse Toggle, I use it with a few other apps that require touch input
True, unfortunatly..
I believe you can use Mouse Toggle as a workaround though..
I use this, but you need another android device (phone, tablet etc) to push it to the FireStick : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fluxii.android.mousetoggleforfiretv&hl=en
If you're not aware, there is a way to use the remote control as a mouse: Mouse Toggle for Fire TV
use this, better than Wukong and no need to buy extra equipment
