Either NordVPN are good options to go through with. I like it for the prices. The customer service is also there to help you whenever you have any problems. I, myself never had any problems with the speed or connections.
Why is it that Trakt scrobbling is still not working properly? It shows my progress on Trakt dashboard (https://trakt.tv/ homepage) while I am watching but after an episode of a series is done it either marks an episode too high (e.g. S01E02 instead of S01E01) or it does not mark an episode as watched at all. Had the first problem in the non-beta and the second problem in the beta client.
Hey i just install the 1.4.10 on my android phone. I just check here https://www.stremio.com/downloads and the apk is not out yet, maybe in a couple of hours or days, I need this apk for my Firestick 4k.
Downloaded the Android apk from here: https://www.stremio.com/downloads.
Installed on August 4. Any major upgrades since then?
I notice there are 2 apk files to choose from. Is one preferable over the other?
VPN is good, but still sometimes the speed is just not reliable(I use PIA. I have also tried ExpressVPN and that is pretty fast, but pretty expensive).
Instead of investing in a VPN, look into real debrid, or any other debrid services. Debrid services basicaly caches the file you want to download, say a movie, on there servers and provide a streamable link and a downloadable link.
real debrid can be used with stremio using torretino. and it's mad fast.
on playstore it says 1.3.6 (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stremio.one) i do not know if 1.4.0 is a beta or something, i do not use the android version
NordVPN or ExpressVPN does the work pretty well.
If your budget is tight I would recommend Windscribe. They offer 2gb(10gb if you verify your email) as a starter each month and their paid VPN is cheap too.
If your main usage is on android then I'd prefer CinemaHD or Cyberflix as they don't use torrents for streaming. So you won't require a VPN
just make sure that NordVPN properly protects it's users against ip leaks. the only thing that can get u in trouble is not having it running or the vpn going down and leaking ur ip. normally reputable vpn companies block ur entire connection when the vpn unexpectedly goes down, thus protecting against ip leaks. NordVPN is reputable afaik, so u should be safe, but u can google it to be sure.
I personally prefer Mullvad, but if you choose any provider from here, you'll ~~very likely to~~ be fine.
Definition of kill switch:
> The Kill-Switch is a feature that is written into the software of VPN providers that, when enabled, will make sure your IP Address isn't accidentally exposed in case of a dropped connection with the VPN server. When enabled, the kill-switch will instantly kill your internet connection in the event the VPN connection fails. If you didn't have this feature enabled, your computer will automatically connect to the internet through your normal connection (via your ISP) and expose your true computer location to all websites and protocols you are accessing at the time.

Have you ever noticed that whenever MPAA sues users and developer it's usually in the following countries: US, Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand.
While this 5 eye alliance () is there to spy on people, for me it also means it allows MPAA and groups like them to easily access ISPs and user data in general.
This is why I always recommend a VPN where those group will have a difficult time to access you. For example, the VPN provider CyberGhostVPN HQ is located in Romania, where piracy is extremely popular. Plus, this provider has a really cheap plan called Special Edition for $15/year:
Are you using a free VPN? Some cable/phone providers don't let you use VPN's as they want to know what your looking up. I've never had any luck with free VPN's, IPVanish works great and it's cheap. But if you do get real-debrid than you won't need one while watching RD links.
You answered your own question basically. The TV is hardwired, hence it doesn't stutter. The Firestick 4K has a pretty strong wifi module, but if the signal source is too far away it can't do much. There is a way around it, though you'll have to purchase a couple of things - Firestick usb splitter plus a USB gigabit dongle (it'll have a max speed of 480Mbps).
You can then hardwire the firestick and it should run your 4K files well.
I've been using Torguard, and it's decent. The app is easy to use and I've never gotten a letter from my ISP.

Your using IPVanish or some other IP blocker right? Make sure it's turned off when your installing the with real-debrid. It won't sync if it's on. Then once it's installed turn it back on. Silk browser was the only one that worked for me when I installed it. The address I gave you in the last post works fine on my firestick.
>Any ways to work around this problem?
what makes the most sense would be to contact NordVPN customer service, since you're a customer with an issue with their service blocking
Chromecast with Google TV is the most recent and best option out there.
Buying a fire stick 4k is a very good move. It is relatively easy to side load, as Amazon doesn't have Play Store. There are loads of 'how to load Stremio on a Fire Stick' tutorials.
You don't need a VPN if you use RealDebrid with Torrentio. Though you can easily run something like NordVPN or ExpressVPN if you want to torrent in a country / ISP that restricts such things.
Other things to know... turn off caching and you have to sync addon from desktop / mobile.
NordVPN has peer2peer servers on their VPN. And all there servers allow torrenting.
No Orion just provides the cached torrent links. You’ll still be using BitTorrent.
You need RealDebrid or a VPN
Thank you for the response.
I’ve never had any speed issues running ATT VPN while streaming videos. Mostly concerned about privacy from ATT.
Yes, your suggestion is possible, though i’ve never side loaded onto the TV, not that i’m incapable.
BTW, the TV can access Google Play and Stremio and the NordVPN are available there. Im just looking for a way to avoid paying for another service.
And I do have ground Internet access, also through ATT, which i would prefer to use since the HotSpot uses Cellular data. But the free VPNs are just too slow.
I use Mullvad since it requires the least amount of KYC info which they only give you an account number and that is it to login to the vpn. It also has a built in killswitch that cannot be disabled and I can pay with Monero (XMR). Speeds are great for me compared to ExpressVPN, Nord and Proton. I would recommend Mullvad or Proton for VPN, Mullvad being better depending on your OPSEC and remote port forwarding feature. Proton remote port forwarding would act odd with the many torrent clients I have tried with it.
Paying for a VPN service doesn't change the fact that they log visited websites and could give up info without any hesitation. I'd recommend a decentralized service, try Orbot, though it might hurt your download speed.
Oh wow! I have not heard about that with NordVPN. I have never had an issue with Surfshark disconnecting, glitching, etc and I have used it for hours on end (binge watching) and using different countries. I highly recommend it. I know they also have a new product called Surfshark One that bundles in an antivirus and I think a couple more security things. I haven't looked into the details yet but it's not much more expensive.
I'm sure others will provide suggestions but I use Surfshark. The only other one I looked at was NordVPN. Surfshark had a 3 yr deal on when I signed up so I went with them. It was between these two for me. Do not go with a free vpn (because of caps, etc). A paid service is so inexpensive nowadays. If you have need of a bunch of devices then you might want to look at a network option but I haven't looked into this too much because I only need it on one device.
Use VPN. i recommend riseup.net vpn.Iif you are looking for a free one. If u rich.... use norvpn.com or just use Real-Debrid (paid) for $5 per month. I use riseup VPN and it is pretty good. But I watch only in 1080p because of lag..... VPN does not make lag go away when you put it in 4k. Real-Debrid does reduce lag.
I understand the feature you are looking for. They are found in other streaming APK's like Cinema etcetera. i was just going to recommend what has worked for me when looking for a different show to watch that I might like. Even in the other APK the similar or related is hit or miss if it is working or not.
As mentioned if you sign up for Trakt.tv it will do what you are interested in also.
Google was just able to pinpoint shows that off my searches and such that I might like and was correct.
Quote from https://www.stremio.com/tos
1.9. "User" means any natural person who acts in full legal capacity, for the territory of Bulgaria this is 18 years old, who accesses the Services. Users can access in Guest mode or as Registered User. .
OP is a 16 year old male from Turkey. He broke the Terms of Service of Stremio and now trying to slander Stemio's work and calling it illegal.
>I can see that there is two different Real debrid links. One that is [RD+] Torrentio, and the other one is [RD download Torren...].
when configuring RD w/ Torrentio, you didnt set cached only - the [RD download Torren...] means it's uncached, when you select it, you'll have to watch for it to be added to servers first
>Which one is the "safest" way to play a movie/TV show?
once it's cached to RD servers, they're all the same
>And when we play it from Real-debrid, do we need an VPN?
there is no need, but, if you want an extra layer of security/privacy the VPN IP address has to be whitelisted https://real-debrid.com/vpn
You can add an infrared sensor and use the infrared remote, . . But I assume you put an Linux ubuntu distro on the rasberry, it my work out with "KDE Connect"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.kde.kdeconnect_tp
And control it from your own phone through wi-fi, it's the best app for remote desktop control, open-source of course
Tenho uma boa VPN (Mullvad), e usando o , me dá o mesmo número de IP.
Não vi nenhum desses filmes, no período!
Nem com Stremio, nem baixando com outro aplicativo.
If playback is choppy and you’re watching a popular (well-seeded) movie I would advise you get a Real-Debrid subscription and install the Torrentio add-on. You will download directly from the Real-Debrid servers instead of P2P torrent downloading.
The movies that worked earlier could have stopped playing because either your internet was too slow or the add-on you were using went offline. Add-ons sometimes bug for me and I have to re-install them to get things working again.
Finally, Stremio will also show you legal ways of watching the movie through one of their add-ons I believe.
Hi, there is a new android update of Stremio that fix this problem
This is the official web page
https://www.stremio.com/downloads
First uninstall the current version and then download and install this one (Stremio 1.4.13 ARM 64 APK)
Hope this helps.
Please someone (I beg You) create an addon for RuTracker.org
There was one before but it was deleted somehow :(
I know English but it will be very convenient if I'll want to watch some movies/shows with friends, relatives who don't understand the language...
This makes a lot more sense now then. Is the link below the beta version you’re talking about? I don’t see version 1.1.2 on the Stremio website. I’d rather download from Stremio’s website if possible.
Alternatively, is their a native app to clear the app cache or should I download a third party app to do it?
There is an sound issue with deb package. We recommend using a flatpack because sounds work with flatpack.
Here are instructions how to install software using flatpack
For following series it is not possible to be done because there is no data in the tv db:
the summoning - https://thetvdb.com/series/the-summoning/seasons/official/1
caillou - again the tv db issue and same for maddlein the tv db has wrong entries.
Rest of them should be updated soon
Tried from both sites and neither of them worked https://www.subdivx.com/X6XNTA3MDU3X-boku-no-hero-my-hero-academia-s01-ep0113.html https://www.opensubtitles.org/es/subtitles/7103223/my-hero-academia-izuku-midoriya-origin-es
Yes, there is (at least on Android). Once the video actually starts playing, you'll notice a new icon appear in the upper right corner (it'll be fourth from the end) - that lets you send the link to a download program. I prefer 1DM (was IDM) because it can download some links others can't (HLS).
No problem, if you want something for total privacy I suggest Proton VPN since the company is really reliable and same for the VPN, it should work really well with streaming especially after the last update that happened a few days ago. I also heard some time ago Express VPN is really fast. Just stay away from NordVPN... its probably the company I would trust least with my data + they use scummy advertising practices.
Edit: it should also work really well with tors
Install 1DM (assuming you're using Android).
Use it as your "external player"
Let 1DM download the video, then play it with whatever player you like. In many cases you can play it while it's still downloading.
Delete the downloaded files from your device when done so you don't fill up your storage space.
Nord VPN is good for the quantity of servers it has. Apart from that it also supports dedicated servers for TOR and not to mention it's cheaper than ExpressVPN but the thing is Nord VPN servers seem to fluctuate in terms of speed i.e. you don't get always the same speed on it's servers. Maybe Nordlynx improved it but I don't know much anyways.
Free VPNs are not great. If you’re not paying for it, then you are the product—it’s very likely they’re selling your information. Purchasing a VPN subscription is very much worth it, especially if you plan on watching on Stremio for a long time. I use NordVPN, but /r/VPN may have other recommendations for you.
>1. Open NordVPN;2. Go to "Settings"3. Turn off CyberSec.
It was already turned off to begin with.
Anyways I reinstalled both Stremio and Nord, restarted my laptop, turned on Stremio first with adminstrative privilege and then Nord and now it seems to work for the moment.
Edit: Is there a way to whitelist Stremio from (any) vpn? Split tunneling for Stremio never seems to work for some reason.
Its not as convenient as Stremio, but you could use VR Theater for Cardboard for playing media in VR, the downside is if you'd need to manually find media to download via bittorrent or similar.
Going through this, after much research, I gave in and realized the only option is to use the "split VPN tunnel" option most VPN providers have. I know PIA and ProtonVPN have that function. It lets you hand pick what applications are routed through it and the default rule is bypass VPN. It looks like this for PIA
Stremio uses torrents. Hope you're using a VPN to keep what you're doing private.
Best suggestion would be to download first (the only difference between streaming and downloading is that streaming doesn't save what it downloads). When it first starts playing, a new icon appears to the left of the row of icons on the upper right corner - click that to have it share the source to another program to download it like IDM. Be sure to delete when done watching or you'll run out of space fast.
install Amnis - Torrent Player, load MKV with subtitles, chromecast to TV, click on subtitles icon, and select your language , that simple. it just works. this player can also download on the fly subtitles. if you need
you can watch anime with embedded Subtitles, with Amnis - Torrent Player on android,
this player can, auto encode video with subtitles to chromecast, if your chromecast is 1st gen
and cant play h265, it will simply on the fly encode to h264 and subtitles from mkv.
it works good on private asian movie sites.
VLC - has old developers , who do not want to commit new code. on vlc, they call chromecast Render , this how old they are.
>Stremio in general pushes for open source as much as possible, and most of our code has been open sourced already
I know and I'm really glad about it.
You guys are awesome!
>giving more power over our application to (and improving the development experience of) community addon developers
That's interesting. And considerably more important than a "single-platform" feature request that might be fixed by Google on future GBoard updates. Believe me when I say I understand you 😁
Btw I've found a work around that satisfied me: on my Android phone I installed Android TV remote control, that app is like a remote controller based on WiFi and supports voice recognition!
Anyway I'm really interested on learning TV app development (more interested on TV's user experience). I might develop an Android TV version of stremio (as a side project) as soon as I get time to it. If I build something interesting... I'll make it public.
Thanks for getting back! I took your advice and downloaded Button Mapper, and I programmed a few buttons to use the play/pause action, but none of them work on Stremio, only the random slider button that was the default.
Just to double check, I tried out the remapped keys on other apps like Netflix and YouTube and they all work. Very odd. Any ideas?
There are add-ons which display bandwidth used in real time. I've used them in the past but can't recall the name of this particular one. Just make sure it supports on screen display so the app can rest over what ever application you are currently using.
I kept mine at the bottom right corner.

Urmm I think you should clear up some space in your device or something? I mean try some normal android debugging on it. Like wiping the device, clear cache and data, etc. Because for me it's working normally and perfectly fine.
I don't have much applications on my firestick, Just amazon prime, youtube, Netflix, Kodi, Popcorn time, NordVPN, Stremio and lastly a Downloader application to download and install. That's it.
AirVPN - The air to breathe the real Internet. A VPN based on OpenVPN and operated by activists and hacktivists in defence of net neutrality, privacy and against ...
End of story. I've tested many VPN.
Question... i received a DMCA email from cox last week. So I bought IPVanish. If I had a movie streamed and for whatever reason I turned off VPN moments later, would my activity be exposed to my ISP? I’m not sure how cache works. The reason is I sometimes watch stuff on Netflix which bans ISPS. So I sometimes turn off my VPN to use Netflix or other services like HBO. Is there a chance my ISP would notice anything when I’m not actively using stremio?
Betternett is a vpn service that is free. It only allows for 10mbps but thats more then enough. Should help your cause. Just search up where is my ip address when betternett is actrivated, and if google says its somewhere else then your home you are good to go. If living in america I would suggest using UK, but amercian servers are also decent. Just make sure the server you are connecting to isnt to close to your location. As pinging it would be easy if someone gives a damn to track you ofc. But I doubt it.
CyberGhostVPN has a hidden plan for new users. For $15/year you get great VPN servers in Europe with P2P support (you need this for torrents to work). Here is how you can get it:
Install their program on either Windows or OS X. Don't signup but play around and even try their free service (the free one doesn't support P2P). Try closing and reopening it a few times and it should show you this offer.
Go to link of the offer and you probably won't see the offer. Refresh the page and it should appear. It's called Special Edition.
If you still don't see it, you can talk to their customer support by sending them a message on Facebook. Tell them you're a new user and would like the Special Edition subscription.
Good luck!
Depending on the ISP you have they may or may not release your information to the requesting company. Basically what happens is your IP is added into the seed pool in one of the torrents/movies you are watching. If an anti-piracy group is watching the torrent, they take down your IP and link it to your ISP, they notify your ISP in which 9/10 times, the ISP will send you an email or a letter stating they were contacted and they haven't and won't give out any information without a court order. In some cases, they will be given a court order.
If you are truly afraid of being caught for this, invest in a VPN, the one I use is Private Internet Access
Before you go and watch movies and tv from free sources, do some homework and know where they come from, how you are getting it and the repercussions of such actions. There is a reason you are getting this service for free when before, you were required to pay for such things.
Actually i was talking about the addons ... but I see they auto-install via my login -- which is awesome.
As far as launching, check out TvAppRepo
