How does airdroid stack up against pushbullet. With the latter, in addition to sending receiving files from my PC, I like getting notifications and being able to reply to texts I'm chrome.
Edit: might as well add a contribution to the list of useful apps:
Road warrior route planning app. Great for planning holiday excursions or working out optimal routes with multiple stops. Integrates with other nav software.
Tried it when Road Warrior decided to increase their price from 5 to 10 dollars a month. Liked the simplicity, but didn't like that it seems to use coordinates instead of the actual address for Waze. For example, I would enter 123 Main St on circuit, which would then result as 100-150 Main St. If you use Google Maps, it works perfectly. Decided to stay with Road Warrior as it offers many more options at half the price.

You want a route planning app like Road Warrior https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.roadwarrior.android&rdid=com.roadwarrior.android
The free version only allows 8 stops. You can designate whether round trip or not, and if a particular stop has to be the first or last stop.
Like Road Warrior, a lot of these apps merely figure out the route for you and clicking on the next waypoint uses Google Maps (or Waze, etc) for the actual navigation.
My brother does something similar with a parts delivery route where the stops change, depending on the daily orders. He likes Road Warrior for sorting the route out of the 10 to 20 stops he has in the Raleigh NC area (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.roadwarrior.android they also have a iOS version) then he uses Google Maps for traffic
Edit: I see that it can interface with Waze
Someone should make an app where you can enter X number of stores, and it'll give you the shortest route to visit each of them once, and then come back home. They could call it the Traveling Salesman App.
Edit: I was trying to be funny, but it's sorta a thing already, I guess... but it's called Road Warrior
Actually, I just did a quick test and I don't think this method will work for you. For one, while My Maps layers can be displayed in the Google Maps app, they aren't displayed in Navigation mode. You'd have to select a stop, choose navigation to that stop, go there, exit navigation, manually select the next stop, etc. Way too much of a pain in the ass.
I don't think you're going to have any luck finding anything that will work in Google's own Navigation. You're going to need an app that - even if it relies on Google's data - uses its own navigation and allows you to specify your own custom routes/markers/overlays. The closest thing I've found (that doesn't have across-the-board abysmal reviews) is Road Warrior. You'll need the pro version ($5/month or $50/year) for stuff like syncing across devices, but you might at least give the free version a shot.
I'll trade you some info for some tips from you as to what stores to visit, because I'll tell you that doing RA for the last three months has largely been disappointing for me - with the exception of a couple Radio Shacks that were going out of business.
For your list of stores, I'd recommend the app I use: Road Warrior (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.roadwarrior.android&hl=en). It will take your list and show all the stores on Maps with icons. It will optimize your routes and allow you to make the notes you mention for each store.
My friend uses this:

I think there's a paid subscription though, which is unfortunate, but it's worth looking into!
I don't know of any dedicated units that'll auto-calculate the most efficient route. You need the FedEx route finding software, which works in a really cool way. If chops the route up into chunks of n stops, and then solves greater-sized chunks, until you get to the full route. I've also seen it done in an Excel spreadsheet.
Routific has a free trial that might be helpful, maybe.
There are several Android route optimization apps!
