eeek,. $5.50 with the buy box to amazon, and it's an add-on item.
You will have to price this at $5.30 to obtain the buy box, and hopefully amazon won't match.
This will net you around $.83 per sale, not including your labels, bagging, inbound shipping, box cost, nor your time.

edit: no need to send me rude messages, I'm just preaching the truth. Just because you can score something for cheap doesn't mean it's profitable via FBA
Didn't notice this before, but this seller is a real tool.
Check out his return policy on his rug:
"For sanitary reasons we cannot except a used return. Every buyer deserves a first time use, scent-free, brand new experience. If you wish to return your Ripple Rug for a refund it must be in new condition, untouched by pet and scent free. Used returns with hair, excrement or any matter will not be refunded; No Exceptions. We know you love your cat, as we love ours, you have our 100% guarantee that all shipped items are Brand New, never used, never touched by pet, and scent free. We hope you can appreciate our dedication to the safety of your pet. If you return a used product we will NOT grant a refund. Abuse the Amazon return policy will not be tolerated. If our 'Always New, Always Sanitary' policy offends you; do not buy our products."
Dude, you sell on Amazon. If you don't like their return policy, tough luck. Sell somewhere else.
You can't make up your own return policies. Good luck on the barrage of A-Z claims that will eventually get you suspended.
You are probably right, perhaps they care, but really not much at all. When Amazon purged reviews, dozens of their (hundreds) listings lost anywhere up to 1k+ reviews, yet the seller accounts were all left intact, and most of their listings were ignored.
For example:
1k+ reviews wiped: https://www.amazon.com/Adoric-Life-Waterproof-Operating-Transmitter/dp/B078FBQ88Y
300+ reviews wiped: https://www.amazon.com/Adoric-Wireless-Doorbell-Kit-Plug/dp/B07413TPMJ
It's very easy for Amazon to program a simple solution, and until they do it, I will continue to consider them at the very least partially complicit in the matter.

Check out the camel3 listing. This is such highway robbery on the part of amazon.
The price has been $14.99 since 2015!!!

The reviews, questions and answers posted to this product are by far the funniest and most outrageous of any I’ve come across on Amazon.
My favorite:
“Great addition to any junk drawer!
I knew my kitchen junk drawer was missing something. It has the usual obscure utensils-ice pick, meat hook, those little corn cob sticker things-but it opened so freely. I knew this was unacceptable for any kitchen junk drawer. I needed that one big thing that would barely fit in and would snag the counter every time I opened it. The Hutzler 571 was perfect! Now my drawer snags like every other junk drawer I've ever had and I have to push the Hutzler 571 down with my hand to get it open. Plus when I need 16 pieces of a banana it does the trick. Nothing worse than 9 small slices and 7 big ones on your cereal. Thanks Hutzler 571!”
Yo. Unicorn Smasher founder here. Our product is fairly accurate, but since our recent release was version #1, there will be room for improvement.
I've personally used Jungle Scout for a long time, and I'm a big fan of it. I'm certain that their data is a little more accurate right now since they've been able to tweak it for a long time now. Unicorn Smasher is more like the 80/20 of what you need right now, but I would never deter anyone from using JS. Solid product. I would recommend just using both if you already have a paid version of JS, as there will be spots where each tool is superior.
I asked this question a couple of months back: https://www.reddit.com/r/FulfillmentByAmazon/comments/710swb/alternative_to_amzpromoter/
https://landingcube.com was recommended to me and I've been a happy user since. Good price, looks good (the best IMO), and no deliverability issues.
Hey there, and welcome to the forums.
Go to your inventory page on seller central. On the item that you want to try FBA out with, click on the "edit" button on that item. There should be an option that says "change to fulfillment by amazon". I would recommend to also click on "copy listing" so you can still sell your item and ship it yourself, in the time it'll take your items to get to amazon and be processed.
Once you have your listing as "fulfilled by amazon", click that same edit button as earlier and click send inventory. It'll prompt you through it, ask you how many you are sending, weight of the package, etc.
The FBA process it fairly simple. You'll ship them the 10, or however many products, all in a single box. You pay shipping, but it is discounted. I bet it'll cost you $5 in total. You'll need to create and attach an amazon barcode to each of the items, called a FNSKU. It's the same barcode for each like item. You'll have to either buy a label printer or get something like this Avery 5160 to print and attach with. The items need to be fully ready to ship, meaning amazon will pick your items out of a bin, and throw it in a box. They'll take care of adding bubble wrap or whatever they use to cushion it in the box.
FBA is the way to go. Customers love prime.
You need a scale, labels, printer, boxes and tape. Maybe packing materials but I’ve had enough air pillows saved from my amazon purchases that I’ve never had to buy any but I buy a lot of stuff.
If you want to get fancy you could get a barcode scanner, a small label printer for barcodes, and a 4xl label printer for shipping labels but the really aren’t necessary. Especially when you don’t know if you’ll turn a profit yet.
I would recommend you choose a scale that has the display on a cord so you can read it with large packages. Here’s an example: https://amazon.com/dp/B00KYA0RC2/
Also, if you’re using a regular printer rather than label printers, make sure it’s later rather than inkjet. Brother makes good, inexpensive laser printers. If you don’t already have a laser printer, that might make it easier to justify the label printers instead.
http://www.costco.com/Duck-Carton-Sealing-Tape-Clear-1.88%22-x-60-yds-8ct.product.11518832.html
This here?
I'm sorry I should have been more clear in the post. This is $8.12 for a pack of 6 individual rolls.
Therefore the deal where you buy 6 to get free shipping will yield you 36 rolls of 55 yard tape costing $48.72. To get the costco equivalent you would need 33 rolls of 60 yard tape costing over $95.17 (32 rolls at this price)
Buy box increase sales. Here's all the sellers for Monopoly, if you navigate to the product page notice it says "Shipped and sold by Amazon", because Amazon owns the buy box meaning whoever searches monopoly, lands on that page, and clicks to "Add Cart" gives Amazon the sale. If it was "Sold by gbcanadian and fulfilled by Amazon" then you would own the buy box.
That's why I go further and say that Alibaba is not a legitimate source for RA. Alibaba/AliExpress are meant for generic goods where you research to ensure that the item wasn't created/patented by a brand already. It's not a legitimate source to purchase RA inventory from because if you see something available on RA that belongs to national brand, these are counterfeit goods which could land you in jail if you decided to sell them.
An example for people that may be confused out there and sourcing RA goods from Alibaba. This is an item on Amazon that sells for a lot of money. This is a counterfeit example of that item on Alibaba WHICH YOU SHOULD NOT PURCHASE TO SELL ON AMAZON!
I will believe it when an actual seller comes here saying he got banned and his techniques that lead to being banned. There are some huge companies that are utilizing the review services that would take a huge cut in the overall $$ on amazon. One company is River Colony Trading which is a HUGE amazon seller uses paid reviews. So lets see how this shakes out instead of hearing from someone, that knew someone, that heard something, from his cousins brothers uncle. Just my opinion.
Another company is SPIGEN. They have 146 "honest reviews" https://www.amazon.com/iPhone-Spigen-Extreme-Protection-Tough/dp/B010MVIPA8/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1475881907&sr=8-12&keywords=spigen
They are a huge company too.
I don't know why people are downvoting you because this is a surprise to most new sellers when it happens to you for the first time.
The truth is like /u/saturnx9 says "you play on Amazon, you play by their rules" and that sucks the first time around but you have to accept it and consider it a cost of doing business. Amazon takes a very hard approach to "the customer is always right" rule even when they are not.
That said they did introduce a new feature over the summer called "New Customer Returns Repackaging Service" which helps address this. You can find out more here but for a small fee they will your inventory repackaged and ready to sell again without you having to go through the hassle of either re-sending it back to Amazon or putting it on eBay.
It might be worth looking into.
First; The potential to buy is a constant. Some times are better than others, holidays sales and clearances and so on but you shouldn't feel restricted to those times. The trick is to go out and find something regardless of season or sales.
Second; At 25$ you've only got $15 to ship to AZ, pay AZ fees and compete. You're really not leaving yourself much room for profit. What if someones getting it cheaper than you and can afford to drop their sizable quantity down to $35 or even $30? You would lose money matching price, meanwhile your investment is sitting on a shelf at AZ. You're better off finding something with a higher margin and more breathing room.
Last; Do a little research. Verify for yourself what I'm talking about. The first link will give you an idea what it will cost to sell the Toner with FBA. The second link will give you an idea how much its been selling for historically, also how frequently and how well it does in its category.
Not sure if Amazon blocks outgoing links through the messaging system or not. Do this from a new Amazon account not tied to yours with fake information and a different IP from the one you use for your business. It won't give you their full info, but should at least narrow it down some.
Create a shitty WordPress website.
Setup robots.txt so Google doesn't crawl and index the site so that no one else will visit the site.
Setup StatCounter.com and Google Analytics.
Send the seller a message with a link to your website and give them a reason to click on that link.
Get their IP address and location after they click the link to your site.
Yes third party sellers can do it. Here's an example. I believe they have opened it to everyone (I have the option), but it may require an invite. Seller central will let you know for sure.
Edit: I found it. Settings > Fulfillment by Amazon > scroll down to "subscription settngs" and enable.
I’ve reported this kind of blatant incentivized reviewing to amazon and they don’t do anything. Both are items I bought and got an email and/or product insert that offered something free in exchange for a review. Maybe reporting to the FTC would be my next step if they were hurting my business...since amazon has incentives to not shut down sellers that still make themselves money.

I found it on YouTube. Not my video, nor do I have any affiliation. I got through it about ~9 minutes at 2x speed and so far, so good on the info. Proceed the rest with caution.
EDIT: DON'T EVER BUY some YouTube' video dudes' "recommended software" bullshit. Just learn from the method and use your own (free if you want) alternatives.
It's a good place to start, but in general it's still just a model. In fact everything is a model, except tools like camelcamelcamel for BSR history and amasuite general product research.
I've used all three and it's actually quite nice but also time consuming to check the product in every single platform. But hey, gotta make that money :)
It's a new product. First review is from March 16. Their strength came from giveaways. Once they stopped giving away product for free, they stopped seeing that bsr.
Hint: look at the "Frequently Bought Together" on that page. Yes, giveaways usually go together with that stuff.
hi usualy you can use the http://camelcamelcamel.com/ website to find the BSR for any product or any browser add on like jungle scout for example
speciafically for this product you can not - no software recognize this product sales rank.. i dunno why
They were just acquired for $75M. Maybe be a stressful time for them. I'd rethink it, or at least have a conversation to set KPIs.
I have no experience with private label stuff. Here's an example of a product on Amazon that's obviously been sourced from China. You'll find several "duplicates" of this product on both Amazon (some stick their own brand name on it) and Alibaba. Do some calculations and you'll see you can't really make money off this anymore.
Another problem with PL is that you start all the way at the bottom with Amazon (zero reviews, zero sales). You need to promote it and make it "visible" which must be quite an undertaking.
Some other rules are - don't get brand name stuff on Alibaba (probably all fakes), stay away from electronic things (too easy to break), go for items that are 50 - 100USD per item (can't make a profit off a 10USD item), etc.
I haven't really grasped Alibaba either.
If you want to learn FBA just go buy a few items like for 50 quid in a local shop and send them to FBA. You'll make your money back or maybe lose a bit but you'll see how it all works, how to pack, label, set up your account etc.
You've 45 days from the date of payment to file a claim, & only lump-sum payments are claim eligible I believe.
If your vendor is in good standing with Alibaba, I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. However for the sake of hedging your bets I'd encourage you to research filing a claim via PayPal.

You cannot sell them as new. You can sell them as like new but if you add a comment in the notes about them being still new and in box you run the risk of getting a black mark from AZ.

She also appears to be from Oklahoma just around the corner from where all these companies are operating out of. Could be possible that they are recruiting people offline to buy their stuff and post a review in exchange for some sort of compensation?

1) Yeah the monthly storage fee didn't seem right. If your product doesn't sell, you incur long term storage fees after 6 months. If your item is small you can store some in your house and just ship whenever you feel like it. Amazon's UPS rates to ship to warehouse are really cheap
2) Yes even prime members have add-on items. Some items are cheap and aren't add-on, but usually they get flagged as add-on later. Anything $9.99 and under is susceptible to having add-on status
3) Good
4) You can use JungleScout ($$$) or you can use Unicorn Smasher which is free. It's a Chrome extension http://www.unicornsmasher.com/
5) Well there's no benefit to selling generic unless you're hijacking someone else's generic listing. If you're generic, anyone can sell on your listing and take the buy box from you and edit your listing and change the pictures, etc. Which is why most PL sellers brand their items and get brand registry even if you're just putting a sticker on your packaging
Yep... As you compose or respond to a mail. You will see Save Template and Use Template on the right hand side. Once these are loaded you can whizz through lots of them either as first contact or the next stages. I have a few set up as I drip what I want out of them stage by stage rather than asking all in one sitting and overwhelming them. I use bullet points and numbering to make it easy to respond in line.
Streak is great, I use it to manage leads and sales cycle on my other businesses. I have now added it for China contact and link the stages as first contact, yes, no and quoting - I have a column where I can see the unit price.
Once I have whittled it down I will move the thread over to my inbox and manage using Streak. I can also send delayed messages so I don't look too keen or get it to land in the top of there inbox as they arrive in so I am priority.
One of my new products at it's send month is doing 17k+ and getting a nearly 3K profit. So guess you are right about the margin at the beginning of the product's lifespan. But add a year or so to it and the game will change. Here is a screenshot - https://www.screencast.com/t/DgaMKvekQfeb
I can speak to NordVPN. They offer a dedicated IP but the process is a bit convoluted, so you'd know if you have one. You have to make a second account, use a particular coupon code to purchase a second VPN service, then email them to get assigned a dedicated IP and associate it with your primary account.
Here was my setup when I was managing ~10 accounts for larger brands that were not associated with each other (and I had no intention of ever screwing up their business): Dedicated PC, mini router and IP for each brand. The mini router would have the dedicate IP and be set to not allow an internet connection without VPN. Then I would dial in to each PC to access their Amazon store.
I did have one client, which was a big, multi-generational beloved brand, which screwed up on IPs/multiple accounts (it was unclear what the issue was, because of a revolving door with management), but I can tell you, there is no forgiveness with Amazon, no one will listen to you, and those specialized law firms can do nothing for you. So don't ever make a mistake. Have fun.
You don't need a label printer, you can buy labels like these (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00004Z5SM/) and print them with a regular printer (you should try to get a laser printer though, Amazon prefers laser printers because inkjet smudge and fade over time
https://www.amazon.com/Golden-State-Fruit-Decadence-Chocolate/dp/B01KB4I04W/ref=sr_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1484172058&sr=8-4&keywords=caramel+apple How is this shipped and sold by amazon if its food? Is it like FBA? or like does amazon own that company?
Take a look at this product as an example:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M9CODDW
As you scroll down the page, look at the Brand recognition and the story that's being told about something as simple as a mattress.
Amazon is reaching out to Brand owners with the notion that they'd like you to grow your brand on Amazon.
A good example is this flashlight: https://www.amazon.com/Stanley-95-155-Tripod-LED-Flashlight/dp/B001DV7PBW
It's no longer made but highly popular. Last year I just happen to stumble upon an online store clearancing them out for 24.99 shipped. They were selling for 79.99 or more via FBA. They were small, easy to ship and a great flip. After shipping and fees I think we made $30-$35 each. You can still get this model on eBay for $55.00 shipped from South Korea.
Most people start out doing online arbitrage looking at Walmart, Target etc. Most of the time you'll find the low hanging fruit that everyone else is selling. Look for stores that may not be nation wide. Your local hardware store etc.
Do you own a dog? cat? What do they eat? What are their needs?
People LOVE their pets and will spend ridiculous amounts of money on them. You can look at general items or drill down to specific breeds.
Amazon to Amazon flips are great too, just DO NOT buy something using Prime then send it back in. If Amazon catches it they can close your account.
Yeah, the closest I could find was <strong>this one</strong>, which has mixed reviews and didn't work when I tried it.
Shame, it would've been nice to have that info on my ticker.
This with a piece of white paper posterboard inside is a great place to start. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GE79L98
Then just put a bunch of bright lights around the outside and you're set for most situations. Don't buy any "studio light box" with built in LEDs. You get way more control this way.
Most modern phones will work well enough for capturing the pictures. I use paint.net to remove the white background but it does take some time.
I personally go way overboard, using a Nikon D3300 with professional light stands and diffusers and whatnot, but that just takes you the last 10% for perfect product pictures.
Virtual bundles are new ASIN's that in 1 purchase combine multiple products. Unfortunately, you still pay both FBA fees which means it's only a short term solution. Take a look at the following Amazon listing and scroll down. You'll see the section "This bundle contains 2 items" which shows the products being included.
Super clean and the infographics are top notch as well.
Thoughts on this one : https://www.amazon.com/led-tactical-flashlight-rechargable/dp/B072WHQFJ7/ref=sr_1_1?m=A2N4P33Z7UPC2W&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&qid=1660055620&s=merchant-items&sr=1-1
Also what service to people use for photos and listings? Has anyone tried AMZ One Step?
It is indexed. If I include "metal" in the search terms, the product shows up.
Shamrock is not the brand name it's the design of the golf ball marker.
The save X% is a different badge, which is based off of the previous 30 days. Here's an example: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Hobnail-Texture-Fashioned-Glasses/dp/B08989KGJJ/
I'm referring to large red discount % that is there. It looks very different than the red badge that shows the discount after lowest price in the last 30 days.
I've put tens of thousands of labels through it and have had 0 issues. Have had it for a year and a half now. Don't know about the reviews, I have used mine with windows and mac and have had 0 issues.
Thanks for your reply. I've been looking at this shop for example:
https://www.amazon.com/Tiny-Expressions-Summer-Themed-Coloring/dp/B09V1TJ2QJ
So I guess I need to white out the walls and the floor? They also don't show 100% of the banner, on a diagonal.
I've got a question about getting into Private Labeling.
Let's say I find a product on alibaba. For example, puppy pads. If I were to buy them (I'm not buying these, but using as an example), they're going to come as loose puppy pads. I'll then have to manually add a label/packaging (let's say a cardboard sleeve that wraps around 10 of them) to these before I then send them to Amazon FBA, correct?
Where does one find someone to do that packaging? I know I can find a logo/product design on a site like Fiverr, etc, but the physical packaging I'm a little stumped on.
There are Mexico suppliers on alibaba too it looks like..of course a lot less than the Chinese ones . Suppliers in other countries too on there http://www.alibaba.com/countrysearch/MX-Mexico.html
This recent article is interesting It mentions that Chinese manufacturers are opening up shop in Mexico..and that labor is actually cheaper now in Mexico than in China. http://qz.com/538056/the-country-china-outsources-to-when-chinese-labor-gets-too-expensive/
It looks like things could get interesting in the future...of course the closer distance to the U.S is a big advantage too.
Don't forget to check Camelcamelcamel too.
I know Amasuite has UK data but doesn't sound like it's going to give you exactly what you need right now. There's a pretty cool tool called Revili which is nice though. Reads reviews quickly and helps determine product modifications.
Just to expand on this.
http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Red-Best-Selling-Aluminum-Non-Stick_1386809876.html?s=p
Working off that product, list price $2 per unit, I purchase 1000 units and than coordinate with Amazon using FBA to ship my product from the supplier to Fulfillment warehouses.
Are there additional costs to be aware of? Do I have to deal with a customs officer or freight forwarders?
Those are PUBLIC API keys that Stripe uses to secure credit card data. You literally just saved our front-end code (which you can do for any site on the internet, and which doesn't give you any access whatsoever to our server-side code), and are trying to make it look like a vulnerability.
Here's the Stripe documentation link where they clearly explain that the keys you mentioned aren't secret: https://stripe.com/docs/keys
"Publishable API keys are meant solely to identify your account with Stripe, they aren’t secret. In other words, they can safely be published in places like your Stripe.js JavaScript code, or in an Android or iPhone app. Publishable keys only have the power to create tokens."
I'm not sure what your motivation for trying to sabotage my post is, but you're clearly not a very nice person.
I'd continue to use PayPal until you know you can trust the supplier. Letters of Credit are a great way to go but they're not really feasible until you reach a certain order size. Escrow is probably the best form of payment between PayPal and LC's.
There is a good write up here: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/20140613011453-317024217-payment-method-options-when-paying-suppliers-in-china
https://www.mturk.com/mturk/welcome
You post a 'Hit', which is basically a task (e.g. go to this site, read, then fill this survey). You decide how much you want to pay someone to perform this Hit and how many you want. There are thousands of people who check mturk looking for hits to perform. Amazon takes care of collecting money from you and paying them after you approve their submission.
Why not? There are a lot of places where you can buy a book for a lower price and then easily resell it on Amazon. https://amzscout.net/blog/how-to-sell-books-on-amazon-secret-tips-and-tricks-for-2019/
I don't see any issue. The only thing you should be careful about is FBA fees, which unfortunately increase every year. Calculate the fees to see if it will be profitable.
As a seller, I'm interested in highly profitable products. I want them to be in high demand and have a low wholesale price. With this calculator, you can figure out if the price you are setting is affordable for sellers.
There is only a risk if you send products from a supplier directly to FBA warehouses without checking them first. Otherwise, I don't see any issue. Profitability largely depends on FBA fees, which unfortunately increase every year. It is definitely worth considering the size of your product and setting the price correctly.
The Amazon buy box is always an inexplicable and unpredictable fact. I'm not sure that anyone at Amazon can disable the buy box on this item. The winner constantly rotates based on a number of factors. I recommend going deep to understand how the buy box works.
Great research. I try to follow some tips from this post: https://amzscout.net/blog/amazon-buy-box/ but it seems sometimes that this constant war with Amazon for the "box box" doesn't make sense.
Correct, we are talking about product reviews, not seller feedback.
We published a blog post about review management, If you would like to check it out. In a nutshell: 1) you can publicly comment on Amazon 2) you can report an abuse to Amazon if the review violates the guidelines and 3) you can contact the reviewer and try to solve their problem so that they change or delete their review. They all have different success chances and require a different level of involvement from you as a seller. More on this in our post.
Now, if you want to improve your reviews you need (i) to get notified about all new negative reviews and (ii) be able to manage your reviews, similar to a customer support ticketing system. Sellics provides both. We notify you about all your new reviews and you can manage them in Sellics by setting a status (new, wip, done), adding notes or easily commenting on them directly on Amazon.
Here is a screenshot of the review overview in Sellics, I hope this helps:
The keywords section of your inventory screen. If you aren't using them properly, you are missing out big time.
https://moz.com/blog/amazon-seo-organic-search-ranking-factors
Check out the "Search Terms" section.
I read an article on MOZ that was eye opening to how Amazon's search terms differ from that of traditional Google SEO: LINK. Scroll down to "Search Terms"
Well there's two things to consider.
First, if you're selling items with competition, send your items to FBA will give them a boost and increase your buy box. Getting the buy box is everything.
Second, if you're selling items withOUT competition, then sending them to FBA is still going to increase sales. Analysts estimate Amazon may have 50 million prime subscribers http://www.geekwire.com/2014/amazon-may-50-million-prime-members-according-analyst-estimate/ ...... and those people really really really like their free shipping and guaranteed delivery. Shit, I can't remember the last time I willingly bought a Merchant Fulfilled item if I had any other option.
Besides FBA increasing sales, it also decreases your company warehouse footprint (of course you still pay storage at Amazon) and frees you up to have a life, rather than pack and ship.
I switched to FBA last year and my sales at least doubled. I am sure its a case of your mileage may vary but unless you have a very specific reason for not going FBA (like you sell penny books) I would encourage people to tailor their business plan to FBA.
Depending on your account age and metrics, you can actually request an upgrade to Tier 2 (sounds like you're on Tier 1), but that's usually done automatically.
I primarily use Wave (https://www.waveapps.com)
It's a free actual accounting system. Long term I think you're going to be much better off using an accounting package rather than home-made spreadsheets. My 2 cents.
(It's easy to use too.)
Reviews: I recommend using the early reviewer program. At $60 to get your first 5 reviews, this is a steal. For my private label products, I start with ERP then ask friends, family, and other members of the Amazon community to leave a review. Then I integrate feedback genius to encourage further reviews and typically expect 1 review for every 30 purchases.

Ranking Strategy: Use Helium 10 to maximize keyword output and relevant keywords. PPC to boost sales every single day. Keep price competitive no matter what and start at a lower price than the competition. Never ever ever run out of stock.

Pictures: I take them myself or in some rare cases I hire a photographer on fiverr.com or upwork.com

Shipping: I have worked with suppliers for them to prep and ship products directly to Amazon. I only do this after the 2nd successful shipment. For starters, I would recommend just shipping it to your house and checking quality before using FBA.

Prep: Ive used Amazon to prep some items but mostly pay my suppliers a little extra to get this done.
I am using Profitbooks. I can easily manage stock, record purchases, create sales orders, maintain warehouses and do much more. Highly recommended. I got suggestion from team of SoftwareSuggest.com to use Profitbooks as inventory software for my business. They also give me list of many. You can also refer them before choose inventory software: http://www.softwaresuggest.com/inventory-management-software
As /u/lostmymilk has said, it does depend on your niche.
There are some benefits to putting your time and resource outside of Amazon from an SEO and management perspective such as...
Cons to focussing outside of Amazon is mainly going to be, you don't want it to be your primary focus and take your focus away from your amazon listing and amazon campaigns as they are also important to keep focused on. However, that's always going to be a challenge.. knowing where to best allocate your time and efforts.

In your case, probably barely anything.
PAINT.NET has worked well for me the past few years. I just use it for cropping, removing backgrounds, brightening. That kind of stuff. Not sure if that fits your needs, but it works great for tweaks here and there.
Hi! Interesting question. Amazon has a strict policy for impostors and you could get reported for any false information or imitating your competitor's product. I would recommend trying to differentiate your product listing from your competitors.
However, when running ad campaigns, everyone in online advertising pretty much bids on competing keywords (example attached). Unless your a big brand, I wouldn't recommend this until you win all the terms you want to show up for. Bidding on competitor terms have a low conversion rate and a high ad spend because the customer is literally searching for something else and is probably set on that product.
So, bottom line: There are ways to compete with your competitors, but don't mislead the customers or copy other sellers. This will get you in bad standing with Amazon.

It might be that Amazon keep an eye on hacked password lists, etc and somehow flag them.
As others have said - use a decent, unique to Amazon password and 2FA.
Got it. Very odd. Do you own the brand/product or is this a product for many retailers? If you own the product and brand and you see someone else listing your product you may be getting hijacked.

It's happened to me once, and you should message them sternly to remove the product or you will report them to Amazon. I used this blog post: https://www.sellerapp.com/blog/amazon-listing-hijack/
Fba onsite is a cost-effective solution for fba sellers, this program utilization will differ from each sellers based on their strategy just look out this Fba Onsite Guide to get better understand of this program
If it's a new product it's hard to know unless you have at least one week of sales. For products with historical order you can follow what user strel0k has said.
I have also created and run my platform that does this for all skus => https://www.aihello.com
Shoot me a message if you need more information on this subject
Sure thing. I'm not sure if its the most efficient method but for every product I'm considering sell on Amazon I go to the Amazon page for the book, look for the ASIN (using command F on a mac will find it, I'm not sure about windows), then I take the ASIN and plug it into KEEPA.com where I got to the bottom right of the chart and find the "statistics", hover over that and see the "sales rank" column where I look for the "last 180 day value", I then put that into the Amazon sales estimator from jungle scout (Google Amazon sales estimator and it pops up), depending on the category it'll say the estimated number of sales per month. Use your brain and see how many competitors/prime competitors there are on the listing. Use the Amazon FBA calculator from Amazon (you can google that too) to see how much you'll get after Amazon fees. Hope this helps. I literally do this every single day and I've found some profitable products :).

So there is the graph. If you look at the top of the graph there are three tabs. It is set to price by default. That shows the price history of the item. If you click the sales rank tab it will show you how often it's sold beacuse each uptick is a sale. At first glance it almost looks like a straight line because the upticks are very small because it sells so often. On the right hand side you can manipulate the time frame that you are viewing on the graph. If you slide it down to one month the graph will look a lot different. In that configuration, every time the line goes up, that is a sale. Just play around with it for a bit and look up different products and it'll start to make sense. Maybe look up a really high sales rank item then some lower ranked items and note the differences.
Maybe I'm confused, but the BSR seems stable for this one - http://camelcamelcamel.com/Dr-Tobias-Forskolin-180-Capsules/product/B00KFPDIHW and although it's increased a fair bit on http://camelcamelcamel.com/Weight-Loss-Forskolin-Extract-Supplement/product/B00PALAHTS it was already quite good.
I don't know as I'd describe the changes as "out of nowhere".
We've used https://www.strikingly.com/ in the past for several landing/squeeze pages. They have recently blocked domain forwarding on the free plan if that matters. i believe it was $17 a month for up to 5 separate sites.
Super URLs (the type with a keyword in the link that go straight to the listing) don't work these days, as Amazon's algorithm has gotten too good at picking out these links. Basically you can still send people to your listing with these links but it won't do anything for your rankings.
If you want to use links with keywords to boost rankings these days, you'll want to use 2-step URLs or SFB.

2-step URLs are probably most common. Here you're linking to a search page with your search (ie keyword) already populated. Usually a search in a brand or storefront page (there are a few other kinds too), and usually restricted so only your ASIN comes up. When the customer clicks through to the listing, it's basically an organic click, so you get the ranking power.
This link has a little more info on this.

Otherwise, search-find-buy (SFB), where you direct the customer to search for the keyword you want to rank for, and find your product. For this you really need to be offering a really good deal (such as 100% rebates), for it to be worth the effort for the customer to search and find your product.

I'd lean to 2-step URLs as best right now, just because you're going to get more conversions because it's easier for the customer. Field-ASIN or Hidden Keyword 2-step URL are probably the best options here. SFB can work too - it's more organic so (theoretically) gives better ranking power - but you're giving customers more work to do to buy your product which isn't ideal.
I haven't done it, but since there aren't any comments here I'll post the little I know about it.
A lot of PLers post on slickdeals. I've been using slickdeals before I started PL, but now I have my own products, I've noticed that a lot of the deals posted there are from PLers.
Here's one I remember seeing:
https://slickdeals.net/e/8499831-home-complete-20-pair-shoe-rack-for-10-at-amazon
It's not in stock anymore, so it might have been a closeout or whatever. Obviously PL with the first few words capital in the bullet points
Those spammy Mpow people are also always posting on slickdeals too or getting other people with more rep to post for them.
If you look at the thread I linked, a lot of people do end up buying. I think the people working for the site (?) will only post your deal if you have over x amount of seller feedback
We had this happen once and just used the same BOL. Best advice though is to contact support for the company picking up. If it is Amazon freight, call 877-485-5488 (option 5 for LTL, have ARN ready) but be prepared to be on hold for about an hour or more before you talk to anyone.
I did a jpeg to text conversion here, and then translated the resulting text here (with auto-language select). You might get better results with manual language selection, but sometimes you can figure out what is being said even from translations like this given their context. Good luck.
This was the result:

Hey Ya Qian Qian Qian fried ~ t ;. . mR, ~
If you are looking for a relatively cheap way to manage your inventory, maybe check out this <strong>Inventory Template</strong> in Google Sheets.
It's free to use forever, in case you want to automate some processes it's $9 per month.
I can upgrade your plan for free if you want to test it. We launched these templates some time ago and we are looking for feedback. The template contains three spreadsheets "Check-in", "Check-out" and "Inventory Management Master Sheet" (the last one consolidates all data from sheet #1, #2 and it's a visual representation of your current stock). This solution is fully editable so you can change exactly everything you want, based on your business needs.

We have been helping our customers deal with the many changes within report structure within multitudes of e-commerce marketplaces. We have a software package that every two hours downloads all of our customer's data and then presents it to them however they desire. We hit the API's and we start with all of the customers' sales data. The data is presented in Google Sheets, Coda.io, Airtable, Excel, ... whatever the customer prefers. We can even put all the data into a database and run custom reports for trend data, forecast data, ... The API calls have been identical for over a decade. hulftinc.com
Happy to also do that over a long period of time. That way you can get other analysis. Also we can dump the data into Airtable, Google Sheets, Coda.io, Excel, Kintone, ... almost anywhere.

Or go walgreens and buy a 2 pack of bounty paper towel for $4.99 and sell it on amazon for $14 on this listing and you will quickly learn about inbounding, the time it takes amazon to rack it for sale, your competition's re-pricer that stops you from having the buy box, the sale of your product, the fees associated with that sale, your profit margin, and then finally the review system.
Best $4.99 you can spend.
You might want to change your claim about first protein with Ashwaghanda. I take this one with Vega one that has been out for years: Vega One Organic Botanical Blends, Turmeric Coconut with Ashwangandha, Plant Based Protein Powder with Adaptogens- Vegan Certified, Vegetarian, Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Non GMO (10 Servings, 13.08 Oz) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HM5ZK5P/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_8ZYJ4J4YJRK6X6VAH3EM

I have no idea about the official rules on this, BUT I bought these from Amazon a few months ago and it came with a handwritten note!

The note said “Thanks for giving our small family business a chance. Your orders and reviews matter more than you can imagine!”
I checked the listing and there’s 18K reviews! Many of them even mention and picture the note! So officially I have no idea but I don’t think it’s forbidden if people are actively doing and posting reviews about it!
I'm very new to FBA, and I'm trying to sell books. I'm trying to sell this book. It is very small. To test things out, I priced the object at $9.99. I checked the net proceeds section and it looks like I'm set to make $2.22 off of this item if I sell using FBA. Is this typical? Even if I had 100 copies of this book, how am I supposed to make a reasonable profit if I only get $2.22 per each $9.99 transaction?
AND prominently in the listing with an American flag graphic. I am not kidding. Check out this listing for example. That’s what sold me on this product in particular. They’ve incorporated the made in America message in the images and the bullet points. 14k White Gold Classic Round Hoop Earrings https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M0XWXXS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_Hh5bGbZ2XG7AK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Profit First for Ecommerce Sellers is a great book on this subject. Basically, you need to start thinking like a real business and separate accounts for your different operations (inventory, profits, operating expenses, etc), then move money from profits into your inventory account as you expand.
I see a lot of smaller fba sellers getting those type of ads now too: https://www.amazon.com/Goodpick-Cotton-Laundry-Blanket-Nursery/dp/B07B2SW3HG
We've used 975 Supply but they send different labels each time. Our latest purchase was sold by Amazon for only $7. They're thin, but it's more about your printer than the thin/thick labels. And to give you an idea we had to label 14k products due to a mix up.

not a free resource but a cost effective one that I used as dunnage, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00INFVQA2/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
please note I am not affiliated with this company and it is very possible that you could find similar paper somewhere else for less, I always check around when its time to reorder and sometimes I can find a better deal on ebay,
just remember that it should always be blank newsprint, amazon does not like newspaper with anything printed on it,
this stack last me about 40 small sized home depo boxes with around 40 pounds in each box of books, your mileage will vary
the free option I used in my early days was to go to several local big box stores and take boxes/bubble wrap out of their dumpsters (I knew the days that they filled them from frequenting them)
your local dumpster laws and store manager friendlyness will probably be different then mine. and in the grand scale of things wont save you very much for your time that you could be focused on your business if you just bought dunnage outright.
good luck!
