No root? Use this awesome Chromium browser with ad blocker and Google account support: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rsbrowser.browser&hl=en
Got root? Use AdAway: https://free-software-for-android.github.io/AdAway/
If you're a chrome user there's RS browser:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rsbrowser.browser
It's open source chromium (with Google sync and password autofill) optimized/compiled for Snapdragon and has a built-in ad blocker.
What's the difference between this and RSBrowser? This is built using the Chrome Mobile browser and features adblock and tracker blockers too.
Nope. These are normal browsers which you can download.
I'm not sure which one is considered the best one but this one is on the play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rsbrowser.browser
Give it a try.
It's similar to JSwarts' (!phenom) fork of m46 CAF Chromium. You can grab RSBrowser from the Play Store...easier for people who are lazy about manualy installing APKs when new release drop (like me).
BTW the version on http://caf.notphenom.com/ is now pretty outdated.
I tried that site with RSBrowser and the first link I clicked didn't generate a pop-up.
It's a great Chrome (Chromium?) based browser that can still sync passwords, bookmarks, etc and has content filtering (adblocking).
There are Chromium-based browsers available, like RSBrowswer, that are basically Chrome with AdBlock for non-rooted devices.
No, but RSBrowser built on open source Chrome/Chromium has a built-in ad blocker and supports Google sync and password auto-fill (and compiled for Snapdragon):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rsbrowser.browser
It depends greatly what you are viewing when the screen is on:

If you're just looking at websites, install RSBrowser and enable Night Mode to force all pages to be white text on black background.
Use CAF browser, it is based on Google Chrome and it's optimized for snapdragon processor, so it will be faster on your phone. Plus, it has an integrated ad blocker. ~~http://caf.notphenom.com/~~
EDIT: Here's a working link , this is the most updated version I've found.
As far as browser-based ad-blocking goes on mobile, that certainly is one of the best & most effective setups.
For anyone who isn't a fan of Firefox's UI though (and has a device with a Snapdragon processor), give RSBrowser a try. It's based off of JSwarts' Chromium browser & is essentially just Chrome with an ad-blocker built in.
JSwarts' own browser, CAF Browser (or npBrowser as it was called on the Play Store), is the one I personally use, but it can't seem to stay on Google Play for very long (I only just discovered now that it's been removed again). Here's the official discussion thread & download links on OnePlus' forums.
I recommend CAF Browser.
EDIT: It's not on the play store, so if you want something that updates automatically, RSBrowser is a fork of this project (although it's not open source).
Fair enough, Firefox can be very slow and not everyone cares enough about add-ons to put up with it. However, instead of using Opera might I suggest you try out RSBrowser instead. It solves your all four of your issues as text scaling works, has a built-in adblocker, top 3 fastest browsers I've seen, and is less sketchy than Opera and browsers from other Chinese SW companies.
I use RSBrowser with nightmode and keep novels I'm currently reading in their own tab. The first tab is novelupdates.com so I can keep track of the novels. If I'm starting to read a new novel I use Moon+ reader Pro to read the ebook on my phone, and Calibre to read on my laptop. Also use Readable with nightmode theme on my laptop.
Hopefully Google realizes their mistake and brings it back. In the mean time give RSBrowser a try if you haven't already. It's also based on Chromium so it largely retains the same layout and functions (merged tabs, Google accounts, etc) as standard Chrome but with a built-in ad blocker plus other things.
On top of this it also works with Chromer. So even if you don't use it use it as your main browser I still recommend it as secondary because its adblocking abilities carry over to custom Chrome tabs.
I asked this a week or so ago and was suggested RSBrowser and I LOVE it! It's a clone of chrome, so it looks and behaves the same way but has the tabs show up in the recent apps like the old chrome.
Firefox on PC, and RSBrowser on Android.
RSBrowser is a Chromium-based browser optimized for Snapdragon devices. Also it's pretty.
Can I ask you why chrome sucks for you? If you don't mind the interface and rendering engine, there are chromium-based browsers with the same feature compiled using CAF modified sources that are WAY faster on qualcomm devices. As an example, you can try this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rsbrowser.browser
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rsbrowser.browser
RSBrowser is a custom compile of Chromium for Snapdragon. Smooth. Will sync your bookmarks with google and autofill passwords.
Oh, and built-in adblocker.
If you depend on Chrome and its atmosphere, I recommend using RsBrowser, which has adblock built in, and is also 5-40% faster than Chrome. It has several other cool things integrated into it as well.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rsbrowser.browser&hl=en
RSBrowser(also based on CAF) is better. ~~The dev released the source code on XDA~~
What about rsbrowser?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rsbrowser.browser
Is that open source? I am using it and didn't even check that.
Absolutely not. According to this page, if you left the red LEDs on full brightness for 500 days straight, they would still be producing 95% of their rated nits. Green is even better. Only blues are susceptible to burn-out. So using the app should save your screen. Hooray!
PS: Also try RSBrowser it has the best night mode to convert all web pages to white on black (not inverted).
Try RSBrowser - Chromium build with adblocking, privacy protection, and optimizations for Snapdragon. Snappy...
its actually in the app stores now - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rsbrowser.browser&utm_source=global_co&utm_medium=prtnr
Firefox + uBlock or whatever you like
I bet there are more ways. As far as stock goes, Samsung is starting to roll it out on stock roms and I bet others will follow.
Rsbrowser for everyone else wih no root. Basically Chrome with an adblocker built in.
Rsbrowser is a modified chrome that supports adblocking. Give it a try: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rsbrowser.browser
There are a ton of chromium browsers that have adblocker integrated, such as jswarts, nochromo, or RSbrowser
Koristis chrome? Probaj RSBrowser, meni je puno brze od chrome i ima adblock. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rsbrowser.browser
I use RSBrowser. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rsbrowser.browser&hl=en it's based on CAF but you can get it from the play store. Ad block built in and anti tracking.
What about RSBrowser? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rsbrowser.browser
If your device has snapdragon chip, then give this a try - [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rsbrowser.browser]
You should try RSBrowser. It's basically Chrome, but better, with ad block, colored status bars (if that means something to you), Google Sync, and it claims to be optimized for Snapdragon processors.
But it's not as lightweight as e. g. Lightning Browser is, if that is a concern to you.
