Yeah, OP is definitely a bundle of sticks with that SanDisk reliability remark. The only reason that anyone ever associates SanDisk with low quality solid state storage is because they're the brand to beat and that leads to a lucrative market for cheap Chinese knockoffs that have less than stellar quality controls. Nearly every "failed" or failing SanDisk product I've ever seen has been a fake.
It's not always easy to tell, but there are some ways to weed out the obvious failures and better determine if your storage is legit: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.humanlogic.sdi&hl=en & http://www.happybison.com/reviews/how-to-check-and-spot-fake-micro-sd-card-8/
Then I would like to make a suggestion. This almost seems like you may have a fake card. If you have a faked sd card that is 200gb and its only 32gb in reality, then you can fill your card to 32gb and use it with no problems usually. Once you pass the true card capacity then you start having problems. If you were to fill it to say 64gb, then 32GB of data will be corrupt and only 32GB (more or less) will remain not corrupted. So what tends to happen is people fill their cards and end up saying: "Some of my games stopped working and are now corrupted, and some play fine".
Look this post over. Should help you figure out if you have legit card: https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Identify-a-Fake-Samsung-Micro-SD-Memory-Car/
pay close attention to the H2TestW portion.
You can also try this app on the xd to test card: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.humanlogic.sdi&hl=en_US
I've bought a dozen or so Samsung Evo cards off of Amazon with no issues, but only by sticking to the resellers with good ratings and avoiding the "too good to be true" deals. You can verify the card before trusting them with critical data. Given the plethora of bad cards out there, I suggest testing any card, regardless of the source.
You may have gotten a fake card.
Same thing happened to me. Bought a 64gb class 10 samsung card but it said "Made in Taiwan" on the back when apparently it should be "Made in Korea" instead.
I was able to put some of my files on it but partway through it stopped transferring files and my g3 kept looping through "insert sd card" and "preparing sd card for usage".
There are guides online for telling fake cards apart from the real thing and if you can get it to mount on another phone, you might be able to use this app to check the card.
That SD card is most definitely fake.
Android app that analyzes SD cards
There are two things that I will not buy on eBay: SD cards and "new" phone batteries (on eBay, there is no such thing).
I recommend you toss that SD card before it shits out on you, like the piece of garbage that it is.
Amazon is the place go if you want a good deal on a reputable SD card.
Edit: the read/write speeds on your card will probably be significantly lower than a real one, also.
I have seen a few people say this about the SD cards.
Someone also mentioned to test the card with this app to make sure it is authentic.

That is normal.
First install this app. It will tell you if you have a fake SD card. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.humanlogic.sdi&hl=en&referrer=utm_source%3Dgoogle%26utm_medium%3Dorganic%26utm_term%3Dcheck+sd+card&pcampaignid=APPU_1__PRTVfr9BorKsAWU24GYBw
If everything is OK then turn off your phone and pull the battery for 1 min
After restart try backup again
There is also an android app that can check if your card is genuine (but you need an android device with a (micro)SD slot of course) : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.humanlogic.sdi
Where did you buy your microSD card? It could unfortunately be a counterfeit. SD Insight should tell you.
There are some scrupulous dealers who buy 2GB cards and partition them so it appears to be a higher capacity, but when you go above 2GB the data starts corrupting like these pictures.
A free mobile app that allows you to confirm microSD card authenticity in seconds is SD Insight, available in the Google Play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.humanlogic.sdi&hl=en (Full disclosure, I am the publisher)
You can try this. I don't know if it works, I'm currently on a Pixel XL until Amazon decides it's time to ship.
Install this as well to make sure the card is genuine

Theres an android app that I've used called sd insight, which has worked great for me and has worked great for me in detecting fakes.
