Hi and sorry for my spelling (I'm from Chile) I hope your understand: I was fighting with this issue for weeks (I have android tv) and the unique way I found to use my PS3 gamepads was installing a paid app called SIXAXIS ENABLER (paid app but free in some APK mirror pages). Your have to connect via USB the SIXAXIS controller, run the app, it is going to ask your for permissions to use USB and press the PS button in the controller, ET VOILÀ, your get out of the app and SIXAXIS controller is going to work in every app your want, 100% functionality of the PS3 gamepad in android (but only when connected through USB wire). I tried using Android games (like Horizon Chase), PSP emulator for android, SNES emulator for android and PS1 emulator directory on my android tv and my mobile phone Samsung A70 and it works perfect. Have you tried Sixaxis Enabler? It did work for me with PS3 controllers. My Zenfone 2 is not rooted and it's working flawlessly. You'll need an OTG usb cable though. Read the description of the app to see if your smartphone is listed there. Mine is not listed but is working anyway. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.locnet.sixaxis&hl=en
You need a different app to use it through USB, as it is a proprietary controller and doesn't have plug and play support.
Sixaxis Enabler is what I use, plus, doesn't need root, so you can recommend it to your friends if they're not comfortable with rooting their device: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.locnet.sixaxis&hl=en
Before I had a rom which supported SixAxis I used to use OTG method too. Have you tried an app called SixAxis Enabler? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.locnet.sixaxis It's what I used, I just downloaded and tried it and it still works fine with MCPE.
I have been unable to find a current root for my Nexus 7 (2013) so I have been using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.locnet.sixaxis&hl=en It works really well. You have to use a OTG cable and the charge cord but it works just fine.
There's this app... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.locnet.sixaxis&hl=en_US&gl=US
BUT I haven't tried it AND it's pretty old and not compatibile with many devices. Unfortunately I can't try it, because I don't have a PS3 controller, so you should try it yourself.
You could try Sixaxis enabler on the Play Store. Apparently the F510 has issues with other phones too, and this app seems to solve them. Maybe this gamepad works through a PS4 Sixaxis profile. Install it and if don't work, you will receive a refund.
>I saw you can try Sixaxis Enabler and works without root but I haven't tried it.
Doesn't work, gave 5+ minutes to detect and still trying to detect it.
> and both ps4 and xbox one controllers don't work when i tried to use them in minecraft
The PS4 controller didn't work when connected via USB using the method carefully detailed on the Wiki?
Was it functional at all for navigating the Oculus Home environment? Did you try using the Sixaxis enabler app?

I don't actually know if that is required or not because the success reports we've had for the PS4 controller connected via USB haven't always specified.
You'll want to use this app to get your phone to understand and connect to your PS3 controller: Sixaxis Enabler. Then just follow the directions in the app description. It lists your phone as a compatible device so there should be no issues. If you have problems, you can get a refund.
The developer, Locnet, has done a lot of work with controller apps on Android so I trust his software.
Keep in mind though that this will let you use your PS3 controller with your phone only in controller-enabled games like GTA, Shadowgun, emulator apps, etc. If the game doesn't support controllers, this won't help you. That's why you would need root to do things like let your controller perform touchscreen actions.
I saw you can try Sixaxis Enabler and works without root but I haven't tried it.
You're out of luck with the standard Xbox One controller, but we've had some success reports for the DualShock 4 controller when connected via USB using a Type-C to Type-A OTG adapter (like this or this) connected to the 2016/17 Gear VR. You may or may not need this app, and your mileage may vary.
Please report back :)
(I don't have a PS4 controller so I can't try it myself)
Using a usb cable and: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.locnet.sixaxis
How would you use the controller and gear vr at the same time?? If you want to use a ps3 check out sixxaxis enabler
I haven't tried this without root but it looks like there are methods that exist. Try this video and see if you're missing something. If that doesn't work, try this app. It should work, but it'll cost you.
I personally use this with TowelPieRoot. This way you only have a temporary root and it'll unroot itself upon reboot.
Apparently this app works wired on the S6 if you have a USB otg adapter. Maybe that's my best bet?
