Almost. Currently, only Pocket Edition (iOS, Android, Windows 10 Mobile), Windows 10 Edition (Windows 10, Oculus Rift), Apple TV Edition, FireTV Edition and Gear VR Edition have cross-play. These editions are being renamed to just Minecraft.
This autumn, version 1.2 aka The Better Together Update will introduce cross-platform play for users on iOS, Android, Windows 10 Mobile, Gear VR, Apple TV, FireTV, Windows 10, Oculus Rift, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch playing Minecraft.
Minecraft: Java Edition runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux. So all players running this version can cross-play via Realms or servers.
All other editions of the game can only play with players on the same platform. E.g. PS4 Edition with other PS4 Edition players, Xbox 360 Edition with other Xbox 360 Edition players.
Edit: Updated comment to include Apple TV, FireTV, Gear VR, Oculus Riff, and Windows 10 Mobile. Thanks to u/TheBdude and u/coip for the info.
ninja edit: since op did not provide the source, here it is
I don't like how they force xbl usage on custom servers. I understand why official servers would want to use it, but if I setup my own server to just play with my friends, xbl would only get in our way.
Chat filter? Please, no ;-; - I know it will not work, you know it will not work, everyone knows it will not work. I see the problem they are trying to solve, but the execution will just get in the way of normal communication. The problem of harassment in the chat requires something more than just filtering out the vulgar language out of strings. I highly doubt anyone wants yet another:
> "I'm going to kill you with my sword, BlasterBoy2000"
> Please don't use LBSG as a dating service, you filthy pervert.
And the removal of pm's is also not a good solution to the problem they described.
I really hope that all of these things are toggle-able. Nobody minds making the game friendly to the younger audience, but taking our freedoms away is not a good way of handling this task.
Dragons! The End! Igloos! All this and more come to Pocket / Win 10
It’s a great day for Pocket and Windows 10 Edition players! We’ve just released The Ender Update, bringing the version number up to 1.0. And hey - just in case you're having a little panic, don't worry - we’ll continue to develop free updates after this one.
I've listed the full changelog below but my personal highlights have to be The Ender Dragon (because I’m Welsh and love dragons), The End (all dragons deserve to have a fitting home to relax in), and the Dragon’s Breath potion (it’s delicious). This update also brings this year's Festive Mash-Up Pack including all kinds of holiday themed looks. Watch the trailer!
It's a monster of an update so download it and slay that beast!
This is an interesting one but quite fun to work out.
Your have already done the first step it looks like. Get the vanilla files from here https://minecraft.net/en-us/addons/?ref=bm
Then look at the textures in textures/entities/spider and enderman. If you open them in a good editor you will see that they eyes are transparent. i.e they have an alpha value of 0.
The next part is to go and look in models/mobs.json (I recommend using visual studio code). If you search the file for spiders or enderman and look at the head you will see something that will make everything clear.
That was a bad call to buy disc of game right now. But: According to FAQ at https://minecraft.net/en-us/article/better-together-faq:
Q: What’s the Better Together Update redemption process for disc owners?
A: You’ll need to log into Xbox Live (no need for gold) and insert the disc. You can either wait for the prompt once the game starts or go to the Xbox Store, where you’ll will find the new version of the game. If you’ve either played five hours in the last 12 months, or have bought DLC at any time, the new game should show up as free to download. If not, you can fulfill either of the conditions above before January 30th 2018 and then come back to the store to download. Please be prepared for a short wait, though - as it may take us a few days to process all the redemption requests.
Q: What’s the deal with the five-hour requirement?
A: The five-hour requirement is designed to help us separate real accounts from fake ones. Owners of the disc version of Minecraft: Xbox One Edition will have to have played Minecraft for five or more hours in the past 12 months OR purchased a DLC Pack. They have until January 30th 2018 to do this.
The current Console Edition will not be changed. Owners of Xbox One Edition and Nintendo Switch Edition will get a new, separate game—Minecraft—for free as part of the Better Together Update.
You can continue to play Console Edition as it is now, even after the Better Together Update. The new Minecraft does have a different UI and will not have certain Console Edition features like console crafting.
Better Together FAQ: https://minecraft.net/en-us/article/better-together-faq
Realms is the only way you and your family can play anytime, even when the host is away! Although is a paid service, you should want to try it out with your kid(s). You can read more about realms for Pocket/Windows 10 Edition here:
https://minecraft.net/en-us/realms/pocket/
If you have any questions related to this, feel free to ask!
Use AirServer to AirPlay your screen over to your Mac/PC, where you can then record it with any Mac/PC screen recording software. You can download a 7-day trial on the website, after that it costs $15 for a 5 PC license. There's instructions on how to set it up on the download page.
Yep there are some truly amazing things to explore. As mentioned you can download free community content from cool sites like MCPEDL, and there is the official Minecraft Marketplace too (found in game), where content created by featured partners can be bought. (More info can be found here: https://minecraft.net/en-us/marketplace/)
https://minecraft.net/en-us/article/all-news-e3
I see, quoting two sections:
> Finally, this Fall, we'll be releasing a free update that allows you to boost Minecraft's graphics. Minecraft will get 4K HDR graphics which include improved lighting, shadows, water effects... basically, it'll be like giving your eyes a luxury massage. This’ll be available to folks playing on Xbox One, Windows 10, iOS, mobile, and VR - essentially every platform that gets our Better Together update.
This is the "next free update" we are discussion about.
> We'll also be releasing new DLC, the Super Duper Graphics Pack. On top of the free 4K update, the Super Duper Graphics Pack introduces features like dynamic shadows, lighting that streams through fog, movement in leaves and grass, new textures for mobs and villagers, directional lighting, edge highlighting and more! This Pack will be available on Xbox One and Windows 10, performing best on high-end PCs and the Xbox One X (formerly known as Project Scorpio).
DLC (paid) for XB1X and Win10
Unfortunately, server access in Minecraft for Xbox One is limited to the partner servers due to platform restrictions.
From the Better Together FAQ: >Q: Can I still access other servers via direct IP connect? > >A: Players will still be able to access servers from beyond the servers listed in the server browser from mobile. On consoles, due to platform restrictions, server access is limited to partner servers only.
Follow this Bedrock resource pack tutorial
Then you want to copy the image files to their respective locations in the Bedrock pack.
You can download the vanilla resource pack at Minecraft.net. Then you can see where the files need to go.
Also note that custom models, entities, and ui may not work the same. There are differences between the formats
Just some info to manage expectations: They do not have an estimated date yet. According to Helen (the community manager) in the discord, certification may take 3–7 days. If the build passes cert, they expect to release the beta build shortly after.
How to get the beta: https://minecraft.net/en-us/article/how-get-minecraft-betas
From the FAQ article
"Q: Is there cloud saving in Minecraft?
A: The Bedrock Engine can save files wherever they would naturally go on each platform"
Not very specific but the fact that they mentioned cloud saving gives me hope that you will be able to transfer worlds via the cloud
I believe if you download the Xbox App you can join party's and talk to people.
To clarify, you would not be enrolling in the actual Windows or Xbox Insider Program. You just use the Xbox Insider Hub App to enroll in the Minecraft beta. You will only get the Minecraft beta, not any Windows Insider updates.
Check your behavior pack’s manifest and make sure the dependency UUID matches the UUID of your resource pack.
As for bundling them, this old minecraft.net article mentions a .mcaddon
extension. I don’t see this used often, so I’m not sure if it still works. Try creating a new .zip
containing both the resource .mcpack
and the behavior .mcpack
. Then rename that .zip
to .mcaddon
.
didn't they state that the upgrade isn't available to people that own the disc version of the game but only digital versions?
From the Better Together FAQ:
> Q: I own Minecraft: Xbox One Edition on disc. Will I be able to participate in the Better Together Update beta?
> A: Due to technical limitations, we’re only able to include owners of digital versions.
I use MCPE on Android TV and I would recommend going that way, It works perfectly, just use this app to make a shortcut in your launcher: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=news.androidtv.tvapprepo.playstore
You don't even need to sideload it, just install it to your device from the Play Store website. Updates work perfectly, and you can even sign up for beta versions.
They're adding controller support and most likely we'll see it in 0.12.0.
I posted about using controllers a while ago and was recommended Tincore Keymapper. I haven't given it a try, maybe you could.
If you are updating from older versions before 1.19 (or maybe 1.18, I cant remember) the world file location has changed, just like the text says. They used to be in ~/games/com.mojang/mcworlds, now they are in ~/android/data/com.mojang/mcworlds.
There should be a import button somewhere, but it only moves the worlds and not texture packs etc.
You can also manually move them to the location I mentioned before, though you need a external file manager because Android doesn't like you messing around with datafiles, for example zarchiver allows you to do that.
If you have any more questions, you can PM me or just ask here
There's a possibility of it being released in late September, but they just updated the Better Together FAQ a few weeks ago to state an autumn release, rather than the previously stated summer. Summer ends September 22, so it might just be a semantics change to allow themselves some leeway just in case.
If you mean, minecraft massively multiplayer online, then yes.
Massive servers will be coming in 1.2, 4 servers to start with, more may come down the road. 1.2 update is in beta right now, so soon is you will be able to play with tons of others.
I don't know of any that cost money, and if they do ever make any, they'll probably be in app purchases like skins and resource packs. But as always, the community are encouraged to make and provide their own as well, free of charge. Check out https://minecraft.net/en/addons/ for more info and to see a couple of 'official' examples.
Yeah, doing that will stop the graphic card each frame while you read, but you need to do it eventually. However, using Framebuffer Objects, and double or triple buffering between them allows you to read the image from a buffer that's not being used without stopping anything. It's not an extension anymore, it's a pretty important part of OpenGL... except that in our sad and old GLES 1 world :P
I feel like everyone is forgetting toolbox for Minecraft PE it's a free app on the play store that comes with this and so much more you should try it out OP Toolbox
If you're on android use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dexitcompany.mcpeworldbackup
Link your dropbox account to it and you're able to upload directly to dropbox :)
The app will compress it, share the file here with us and done!
Get a file manager app (I recommend Total Commander) and navigate to /games/com.mojang/minecraftWorlds/ on your internal storage / SD card to see your worlds and copy them elsewhere presumably (TC has a Google Drive plugin which works well for backing stuff up).
If you're running Android, check out World Edit for MCPE.
I use it to build my city, and it has a variety of functionality perfect for building, such as rotation, stacking, replacing blocks, filling blocks, etc.
I'm curious, how did you find this? It is still pulling 1.6.1 from the main site (as mentioned in the tweet): https://minecraft.net/en-us/download/server/bedrock/
Also, are there any instruction anywhere on how to perform an upgrade?
Thanks!!
I am a different guy, but you can use the official Bedrock Dedicated Server that released a week or two ago. That link would be for your friend to use. Here is the link to the Dedicated Server.
Its SoartexPE. I think its pretty good too..its got really cool paintings.
Super Duper Graphics Pack is still in development. They are currently rewriting the entire graphics engine, so it can’t be released until they finish doing that.
As mentioned in November, they’ll have more info to share about its release later this year.
The XBox Insider Hub app is on the Microsoft App store.
You can find all the info on Mojang's site: https://minecraft.net/en-us/article/how-get-minecraft-betas
Do you happen to own Minecraft: Xbox One Edition Favorites Pack on disc, or the individual Favorites Pack DLC?
The Festive Mash-Up Pack was included in the Favorites Pack, and most DLC owned in Minecraft: Xbox One Edition transferred over to Minecraft and became tied to your Xbox Live account. So that might be why it’s available on all platforms, but your other skin packs aren’t.
OK I wouldn't worry too much, there was alot of chunk loading problems in 1.1 so just hold out a little longer. 1.2 hopefully will launch sometime in sept, it should fix your issues.
If you would like to sign up for the 1.2 beta you can as your on windows 10. I suggest creating a backup of your world before joining the beta, although I haven't come across anything game breaking yet.
Minecraft on all non-console platforms can join private servers using its IP address. This is already possible in the current versions of Pocket Edition and Windows 10 Edition. Minecraft on consoles can only join partner servers from the in-game list. This is due to console platform restrictions.
From the Better Together FAQ: >Q: Can I still access other servers via direct IP connect? > >A: Players will still be able to access servers from beyond the servers listed in the server browser from mobile. On consoles, due to platform restrictions, server access is limited to partner servers only.
Minecraft based on the Bedrock Engine does not have officially released server software. However, it is possible to host a server for non-console devices using third party software. Unfortunately, many of these lack current features and tend to break after game updates.
This is likely the “free update” they announced that will bring 4K HDR graphics, new and enhanced textures, water effects, and shadows. They’ll probably try to release this update around or shortly after the Xbox One X launches. Microsoft sure is making them crunch to roll out these updates.
From the “All the News from E3” article: >Finally, this Fall, we'll be releasing a free update that allows you to boost Minecraft's graphics.
The Lightning Digital AV Adapter is fine. I haven’t encountered any latency issues during my limited use of it. However, I did experience some lag particularly when playing PE (this was v1.0.3 though), but that has more to do with the processing power of the phone (I also have a 6s). It wasn’t particularly bad and rectified itself pretty quickly, but it may affect the experience if playing for a long period of time.
This is a nice idea and perfect opportunity to utilize cross-platform play, but it sounds like you already have a second controller. So, I have to wonder: Why not just play using splitscreen?
The only downside to using splitscreen would be your sister wouldn’t be able to play the same world on her iPhone if she wanted to, as it would be saved on the Xbox. (Similarly, if she uses your phone to play while you use the Xbox, she wouldn’t have access to the world on her phone either.)
If access to the world on different devices is a concern, after the Better Together Update, you could subscribe to Realms. This will allow you to both play in the same world when playing on Xbox and also separately on your own devices even if the other person is not playing/offline.
Actually splitscreen isn't supported in Windows10, take a look the changelog here: https://minecraft.net/es-es/article/beta-test-better-together Probably, the reason is due that the Universal Windows Platform doesn't support login for multiple accounts to Xbox LIVE in the same time. Gears of War 4 had problems with this too, Microsoft said that will implement this feature for Xbox on Win10 in the future, according to The Coalition.
Might not have to wait too long for it though, they just made an E3 announcement for their Better Together Update which will add crossplay for mobile, console, and Win10.
You can always get the latest release versions of the vanilla resource and behavior packs from here https://minecraft.net/en-us/addons/
You don't need the whole HUD file. You can just provide the control and the properties that have changed. When we load resource packs we merge them together. That way mutliple addons can modify a single screen. If you include the whole file and we change the vanilla one then you will never see our changes! (here's an example of how to do that https://www.reddit.com/r/MCPE/comments/67hpjc/could_someone_please_update_this_addon_to_11/)
We require all controls to have a unique name so that we can do #2 above. That way we know which changes to merge where.
Using a tool like BeyondCompare to 'diff' files is a really useful skill. You can diff the vanilla file and the one from an old add-on and usually work out what the author changed.
As an FYI - you need to be very careful fiddling with permissions in the WindowsApps folder - its possible to get your windows install into a messy state where things might not work. Get the vanilla files from the web site.
Packs made during the 0.16.0 beta are not compatible with the final version due to last-minute changes to the format. Please ask the pack author to update the pack. You can also take a look at the official behavior pack template from https://minecraft.net/addons and try and figure out yourself what needs to be done to update the pack.
MCPE Add-Ons (as currently defined for 0.16.0) don't require programming. They're all about editing json (text) files and images.
You can absolutely make add-ons (Resource Packs and Behavior Packs) for mobile. The packs are identical, the installation instructions vary.
Creating them on mobile means having a decent editor and figuring out where files get saved to etc. Not optimal. PC is a better choice.
The default .jsons are in fact in the game files, but they're not exactly easy to get to (they're not in the com.mojang folder), so it's likely that this webpage will provide instructions and documentation on how to make add-ons once they are introduced in 0.16.0.
You can change textures using resource packs. Here's a tutorial on how to install resource packs for starters. In 0.16.0 there will be addon's which are JSON files that allow for basic modifications of entities. You can read more about addon's on Minecraft's website:
Reddit: JamesTheBeast XBL: JamesTheBeast92 I have lots of experience with building, here’s my amino page if you want to see my builds http://aminoapps.com/p/tz0tn3 or you can email me at I prefer creative as I can build pretty much anything I own 2 realms atm and am a member of over 30, some of them include Eystreem’s, Rageelixirs and Eckosoldier’s
I’m James and I’m 14 years old, I enjoy playing Minecraft and looking for new ways to have fun, I usually build to do that and I’m pretty good at it!
It changes how the entire game looks the name is Faithful 32x PE and this is where I got it from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ultimategamestudio.mcpecenter.mods
Also if you decide to download it just type in Faithful because for some reason it doesn't show up if you type the entire name
You can download easier on this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lordix.texturesforminecraftpe
then go to section 128x128 then scroll till you see tiny village Or just search tiny village on app.
It's a shader it should be the top result for "minecraft shader" In the play store. Idk about iPhone tho. If you have trouble finding here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.modspestudio.shader_mod there you go :)
I don't know any add-ons/mods But here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.zhuoweizhang.pocketinveditor I advise u to make a backup for your world(can get corrupted)
This one is outdated https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.mrarm.mctoolbox
Toolbox for Minecraft is what I use. Has an inventory editing option, plus way more.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.mrarm.mctoolbox&hl=en_US
Oh too easy. You just need this app. Create a folder on your google drive for your minecraft saves then sync that folder and your games/com.mojang/minecraftWorlds folder. Do that on both your phones and youre set. Just don't load any saves while it's syncing, and keep backups just in case something goes wrong.
I can't be sure but perhaps using a APK extractor and a file explorer(FX File is good) maybe they'll be in there? MyApkSharer || Fx File
If it is an official PS4 controller and not a 3rd-party one, try this compatibility app to see if it works READ THE DESCRIPTION OF THE APP IN FULL!!!, then if it does detect and can show it working, you can purchase the actual paid app by the person to have it actually work.
Google Play Store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscompatibilitychecker
I'd recommend using FX File Explorer, if OP is on android.
It's free, and free from any ad/bloatware. There is a optional IAP, but you do not need to buy it as it is for themes and root access.
You will just need to export it as a .zip (archive) and share it to your preferred cloud storage service
Download Mercator from the play store and use it to unstitch terrain-atlas.tga. Some of the textures will have the names mixed up so you'll have to manually fix that, same thing goes for the items-opaque.tga.
Yes, it works fine because the hack will no longer be active, and it's using the actual hardware button input, unlike a remapped one, which is what I'm trying to do. (I don't understand why they would be different though)
I appreciate that this is a really niche problem because not many people who play mcpe have modded their phones in the way that I have (:P) but it is still an irritating problem to say the least.
As said in the previous post, it's also perfectly likely that its the specific xposed hack that I'm using that is causing the problem, but the remapped "back" button behaves as it should do throughout all other apps I use (that is all except mcpe)
toolbox is the swiss army knife of mods.
it's a blocklauncher addon, not a mod script...
one of the most handy uses is that you can kill off all the bats (or any mob, really) while in game.
if after playing for a bit, your world gets laggy, kill all the bats and you'll see an immediate 10-20 fps gain.
Since your just looking for something simple leet would probably be your best option, I see alot of people using it, though I'm not a big fan of the way they manage things and wouldn't use it for a big server or if your running more then the basic mods.
I think a 5 player server runs a buck a month, though it may be a little more, and that's for the basic server. Mods and other things including banned items cost more money, I'm not sure how much the banned items may effect your game play.
A feature i like about it is they have an android app and you can pay through google play
Edit: Website, Google Play
Before I had a rom which supported SixAxis I used to use OTG method too. Have you tried an app called SixAxis Enabler? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.locnet.sixaxis It's what I used, I just downloaded and tried it and it still works fine with MCPE.
Maybe one of these will work Dropsync, Foldersync
This is the app. It's worth the buy.
This is a free app to check if your phone is compatible or not.
If you need any help with it feel free to message me here.
I HAVE THE GOOGLE PLAY LINK FOR ANYONE WHO WANT IT:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mojang.minecraftpe.demo
(dw this is the official Google Play link, I guess they never properly took it down)
Ok. This is going to be a little trickier than I hoped.
You have two choices here. You can do a factory reset, or you can install a file manager that can get into your phone's Data folder.
If you want to try the file manager, I recommend EX File Manager:File Explorer. You can find it in the play store here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ace.ex.file.manager
I recommend using this link because there are copycat file managers that are not good for your phone.
So the full releases are more stable and more optimized but they dont have some features that is in beta. And if you downloaded the app from play store u dont need to worry about the updates. About the world save, normally it should save the world when you update the app to a higher version but since the minecraft have some troubles with external storage i think you should save your worlds just to be safe. There is two ways to save your worlds, first way is by downloading a mod and the second way is using a file explorer. If you want to use mod to save your world you can download it from here. But if you dont wanna install a mod to save your worlds you can download a file explorer (make sure that the file explorer you download/have can access to your data files, for this i recommend ZArchiver, you can download it from here)so after you have a file explorer you need to go to android>data>com.mojang.minecraftpe>files>games>com.mojang>minecraftWorlds, and there should be some random letter folders, each of these folders represent one of your worlds, to know which world it is just click to the folder, there should be a image with .jpeg extension, open that image, it should be the image of one of your worlds, find the world that u want to save from folders and compress that folder to a zip file then rename the extension of it from .zip to .mcworld (the reason i told you to rename the world file extension to .mcworld is because when you try to open a file that using a .mcworld extension with another app you are able to open it with minecraft and that way you dont need to do all these steps to use that world again) then just copy or cut the file to your DOWNLOAD folder. And there you have it you just saved your world to your DOWNLOAD folder.
hmm...I'm not sure. I bought the game on Google Play store, then loaded it on the Kindle Fire Tablet. After verifying it worked on the tablet, I used Easy Fire Tools (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.agondev.easyfiretools&hl=en_US&gl=US) to sideload it on the NVidia Shield. I didn't select any specific APK options on EFT, I just clicked OK. It looked like the sideload worked, but when I click the icon it crashes.
Do I need to do something different to load just the base APK?
I actually looked up how to fix a windows install and found this piece which offered a few other suggestions that I'm trying now. Thanks for answering at least, I wasn't sure if it was just me even....it's frustrating when I have to restart the game four times before it runs.
Try a file explorer app, i use it instead of the default one now because its do mich easier I use this one but there's plenty more out there: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alphainventor.filemanager
Try using a VPN, like ProtonVPN (Not advertisement, it's just a free VPN), and connecting to the U.S. because Microsoft cut service in Russia.
It's kind of dumb, because it's the government who is invading Ukraine, and they probably aren't playing Minecraft in some battlefield.
It should be back now:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.mrarm.mctoolbox
The app was down becauase some Vietnamese developer team stole their app icon and published a fraud, causing people to mistakenly report the real one:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pttmobilevn.toolboxforminecraftpe
That's because Google is restricting your file manager to access that. I downloaded this in Google Playstore to have access to that folder.
oh in most phones the folders in data is not displayed cause the data files are important and messing them up deletes important stuff. Use a different file explorer from the play store to view the hidden files https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alphainventor.filemanager this worked for me
Hey, I did the same thing on my phone for a long time. Aaaaand I can totally understand the tediousness.
SANWA Multi Device Bluetooth Keyboard with Touchpad, Rechargeable Keypad with Trackpad for Laptop Desktop Computer PC iPad/iPhone Tablet, Compatible with MacBook, Windows, Android, iOS, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HYYD366/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_EY9MQM7A5VVBND4ZY2D5?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
This one seems to be a good bet. The reviews are nice and it has a track pad, which isn't the best in the world but it would be good to get you started. And hey, if you want a command block friend, lemme know. It's always nice to meet a new technical minecraft player.
You have to put them into a resource pack folder. Not the resource folder though. Just putting it in there won't do anything. You can download the folder you need to put it in on minecraft.net/addons
However I have no idea how to convert it into a Minecraft model.
Thank you i will try your commands. I found this info on the minecraft.net website:''Add-ons! They’re a great way to modify Minecraft and you can learn more about them here. Jason Major shared some exciting news about how add-ons are being updated to give you even more control over your Minecraft! Previously, add-ons only allowed you to modify existing mobs in the game, but with New Entities you can add more mobs. You can use Data Driven Spawning to control which mobs spawn in your worlds .''
It's great that i can control what mobs spawn in my world but it looks like it's too complicated. If only there was a video about this it would be great.
Worked, needed to connect via USB to file browse to place the package. Some reason can't anymore use native file browser. But did find one today that works.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cxinventor.file.explorer
I'm taking requests on what to showcase on the Powered by Redstone Minecraft Q&A and it's Ask.FM. I still have to get through the stuff in survival (like the new crafting) and find some generated structures.
Then download something like this and open manifest.json on the file explorer, and it will bring you to the app you downloaded with a bunch of code. There will be 2 spots that say UUID:[Letters and numbers]. Then you will want to go to this and copy the uuid. Then go back to the other app with the code, and delete the first old uuid, and paste in the new one. Then do the same for the other one and save it. Then it should work, hope that helped.
This page states that your phone has 4gb.
And I know how android works, I've programmed android apps. I've been trying to help and you're acting cocky as hell. If you reread what I said, I stated that overlays could impact performance, and that background apps/processes could also use up system resources.
This is going to be my last reply, hope you find a solution :)
Im pretty sure PocketMine is what you're after. You can install it yourself on a host such as Digital Ocean or any other VPS site. Pocketmine also has (although I have not used it) PocketDock which should configure a VPS for you ready to go.
PocketMine has a RaspberryPi image which could be cheaper in the long run, although I have not tested how it performs.
My bedrock server is running on an old laptop i have, I loaded Ubuntu on it and then used official download here.
Not sure why this wouldn't work for you unless as someone else stated, its not powerful enough.
Here is the server software https://minecraft.net/en-us/download/server/bedrock/ and the scripting api is being currently worked on. I think it only works on windows10 currently. I’ve seen some addons that use the new scripting
I can understand that. Making custom textures on an iOS device might be difficult. Unless you can find a way to download the vanilla resource pack from here https://minecraft.net/en-us/addons/ then modify it and that might allow you to make a custom texture pack on your iOS device.
The answer is yes and I'm guessing you get the option to upload when you are creating the realm. Also if you need an extra player, let me know ;)
Sorry! Addons are not able to do that... but you could make a /function Addon by downloading the behavior pack at the bottom of the site. Site: https://minecraft.net/en-us/addons/?ref=bm
(Ps: /function addons work as commands you can activate by typing the command /function [name] #[optional])
If you haven't done so already, head over to Mojang's page (minecraft.net/en-us/addons/), and download the vanilla resource and behavior packs. Otherwise, there is online documentation hosted by gamepedia, showing all of the behaviors, and gives mostly basic resource pack examples.

Before downloading anything from youtubers or online hosted packs, you should be aware that several download links will take you to malware pages - these include both youtuber links, and some MCPEDL links. There are some youtube tutorials, however they are mostly very basic. MCPEDL is another resource, however most of their content does not work, or does not work as intended. They have some good behavior packs, but that's largely it. None of their content is hosted by MCPEDL, it's all hosted on mediafire. Most of the links take you to an ad-redirect page, which will eventually forward you to mediafire. There are some links that take you to malware infected pages RIP.

My best piece of advice is look over all of the vanilla behavior and resource files. They really have most of everything you need to know, and if you're unsure of something then the gamepedia documentation mostly, kind of, clears it up. It's kind of a frustratingly large, unexplored rabbit hole still. Think outside the box - you can do so much more than the basic tutorial stuff, but you'll have to learn it yourself. Modding bedrock edition is too new or there isn't enough interest, that good examples haven't surfaced much yet.
Don't use PocketMine. Use Bedrock Dedicated Server. It's basically the same as Realms but you host it yourself, and it definitely works with a downloaded realm (I have done the same myself).
First go to this website and download Minecraft’s resources (https://minecraft.net/en-us/addons/). Then extract the zip file and use a image editor (eg. Photoshop, gimp, paint.net) to edit the textures of whatever you want to change. Then delete everything you didn’t retexture/change keeping the manifest and the pack icon file. Finally put the files inside of a zip folder and rename the file extension from ‘.zip’ to ‘.mcpack’. Or you could probably find an app to do this if you don’t have a computer.
I think the thing that the other comment thread is trying to get across is, PocketMine doesn't have all of the features that Minecraft should have. One really huge thing missing is mobs. There just aren't any. This is in the PocketMine FAQ.
If you're trying to use an Android device as your "server" then there's no real server solution.
However if you have some PC (any PC running Windows or Ubuntu) you can use the official Bedrock Dedicated Server from Mojang. The PC doesn't need to be very powerful.
Edit: added PocketMine FAQ link
This is fantastic. It works great. Just a thought to avoid having to update the hardcoded link. Having a script that parses the webpage and downloads it. I have a working example here, but chances are, there is a much cleaner way to do it.
Eg. ———————— wget https://minecraft.net/en-us/download/server/bedrock/
grep -Eo "https?://\S+?.zip" index.html > links.txt
wget $(grep -w linux links.txt)
unzip -q *.zip
—————————
Also, this may just be because I’m not great with Docker, but can you integrate the VOLUMES into the Dockerfile?
Thanks for all the hard work.
If you or anyone you know has some old spare equipment I recommend installing Ubuntu on it, installing the official Bedrock server software for Linux, then throwing it in a (well ventilated) closet, garage or basement to just run. Fill out the white-list if you want to restrict connections to specific players (your group, for example), forward port 19132 on your router to the server system and you can connect from anywhere.
It's out now! https://minecraft.net/en-us/download/server/bedrock/ Due to platform restrictions, Switch players won't be able to join dedicated servers and Xbox will only be able to join if they're on a LAN with the dedicated server. All the other platforms are fair game.
