For a non-NSA alternative, I use Sweet Home to automatically copy photos to my server whenever I'm home. Then I back them up using borg to rsync.net (they offer a discount for borg users).
My solution is a bit complicated but it works really well. My wife and i both have an app on our android phones (sweet home) that automatically uploads the latest photos/videos to my file server whenever the phones are charging at home. Then on my file server the photos are on a drive that is sync'd to a folder in Google Drive. This google drive folder is a shared folder that we can both access over the web. So we have auto-backup and we can both access the pictures/videos taken by the other.
I also have some python scripts that do routine cleanup and reorganization, but that isn't necessary.
I don't know anything about photostream, but I back up all my pictures to the cloud using Google Photos, but I also want a hard copy on my computer at home. For that I use Sweet Home Wifi Backup.
Sweet home WiFi picture backup is what I use to sync photos to the Mac. It takes some setting up, but after that you don't even have to think about it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sweesoft.sweethome

I have it set that it backs up wirelessly to a hard drive that’s attached to my internet router at home. No need to connect to a pc, it just backs up all new photos whenever the phone is charging.
If you have android there is an app called sweet home. I have been using it for years. It says it is still an alpha version but it works great. Still being updated. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sweesoft.sweethome
I use this old Android app that does exactly what you're looking for. It's https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sweesoft.sweethome
When I get home and connect to wifi it backs up folders to my Synology NAS. You can pick and choose whcih folders and where they go. Works like a charm. Have been using it for years.
I avoid IPhones. I had ITunes wipe out pics/movies and my wife lost 1500 pictures with them. I had to run a recovery app to get some of them back.
As far as an android phone. I use an app called Sweet Home. It is free but I donated to the author once I really liked the app. I have it set to send new pics to a networked folder when my phone connects to my house wifi. I then have bvckup 2 to copy that folder to another. So my system creates 2 backups of my phone pics. That is in case a hard drive failure on one of the two backups or I lose my phone.
I also have a Sandisk Connect, that I have been happy with. The idea with it is, you connect your phone to the Connect wifi(yes the thumb drive has wifi)and use an app on your phone(android or apple) to transfer photos or music to the thumb drive.
I have also seen thumb drives one can stick into their phone's data port to transfer pics/music. The one thumb drive works with android or apples depending on which side you place up. I do not know the specifics of that device. I just passed by it in a Walmart. I am thinking of getting my wife and daughter one because they are not as technically inclined.
1) Do you struggle to cope with being forced to use separate utensils for slicing and serving pizza? Worry no more with these slice 'n' serve pizza scissors!
2) An FN Herstal FNX-9.
3) This file backup app. Automatically backs up full resolution versions of images and videos to my home server in the basement. Google is nice but they compress stuff and degrade quality. If my phone ever goes kaput, I know all of my pics are safe in original quality.
5) My favorite piece of furniture is any which is conducive to napping. I therefore am quite fond of the sofa, the recliner, the glider, or the basement sofa. The basement sofa is particularly great on hot days because it stays nice and cool downstairs.
I realize it's not a Tasker solution, but I use Sweet Home:
>This app automatically copies pictures and video files from your phone/tablet to your network drive (NAS), server, media centre, or home computer. You can set the app to do it automatically when you arrive home or set your device to charge.
Triggered by a connection to your home network (and optionally a power source), the app begins uploading your phone's pictures to a UNC path on your network. Settings within the app control the folder structure and whether (and how long) to retain the originals on the phone.
I basically charge my phone at night, so as long as I delete any unnecessary pictures before putting it on the night stand, they won't be uploaded.
Ahh, I see. I'm in group texts all the time, but I guess losing the group messages you were already on would stink. Or is it something more than just a group text. I've never used iPhones much.
and this app or something like it is probably what you want. There's a bunch out there but my friend uses this one. Says it works like a charm.

I use Sweet home (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sweesoft.sweethome) to back up folders on my device to a server at work as soon as I get there. Also, Google Photo backup is always on.
I triple backup my and the wife's phones using google photos as well as to my home file server using Sweet Home and Crashplan. Google Photos does its thing, at night when I charge my phone it backs up to the file server and Crashplan backs up the file server every evening. Feel pretty good about the security of those pictures.
You could maybe do something with powershell or something like autoit. There's also this app. I haven't used it personally but might work for what you want.
I use an android app Sweet Home! which automatically uploads my photos to my network storage whenever the phone is plugged in and connected to my home wifi.
I've always enjoyed this free app. You can set it to upload immediately when it connects to your home wifi or when you plug your phone in to charge.

Sweet Home! - It's not pretty, but the best app for backing up your photos to a homeserver automatically. Set it up, and never think about it again.
MyStocks - Material design stock tracker
Super Simple Sleep Timer - Turns off music etc after a set amount of minutes. I use this when I wanna listen to something while falling asleep.
Google Clock - The one and only. Perfect if you're running Sense or similiar UIs and want the Google Clock.
Sweet Home backup.
It's old and a pain to set up, but works and i haven't found a good replacement.

I do this as well. Using Sweethome on Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sweesoft.sweethome&hl=en_US it automatically backs up our phones when our phones connect to the wifi network. From phone straight to my NAS and then those get backed up offsite automatically via different services. We've been doing this for years.
