I was just gonna write that!
I’ll just give an additional tip then; Touch Protector - It can make the screen black and block touch/buttons. It’s great if you wanna move with the phone in your pocket.
Touch Protector will do.

If you're on Android, I recommend this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=biz.obake.team.touchprotector
You can trigger it by shortcut, app, or physical key combination, and it will disable the touch screen until you enter another key combination.
Hey, I've had same problem with my 2yo! :) I've tried many apps and best one imo is Screen Protector (Play link). You can disable hardware buttons, set the way of unlocking (I've choosed vol- button, because he can't push them for now) and best thing is - you can set to lock it by shaking the phone. So you start the app - lets say YouTube - choose the video, shake the phone and that's it :) He can touch the screen, home button and nothing happens. YouTube ads are a problem because he knew how to skip them before and now he can't and from time to time is bringing the phone to do it for him but I can live with it ;)
I don't know of a function that is built into the phone that let's you do this, but there are plenty of apps out there that can do this.
Just search for "touch screen disable" in the Playstore and you will find a ton of them. One that looked very promising to me is this one.
I suspect a ghost touch problem (in which case getting the screen replaced would be the only solution.)
To test whether ghost touch is responsible, play a video and then activate Touch Protector.

I'm not sure if it's just a Samsung feature, but I pin my apps if I only want people to browse on the app I'm showing them and not be able to open other apps or exit that app.
If I'm showing something to people, but I totally don't want them to make any unwanted clicks or accidental touches so that all they could see is the one I'm showing, I use a touch protector/blocker app. This is the app I use: Touch Protector
You can use mouse and keyboard without using Dex, if you weren't aware. I don't think you can disable the touchscreen natively, but I did come across these two apps. Touch Protector & Touch Lock
I mention using a mouse/keyboard without Dex because I was going to suggest you use split-screen view with Samsung notes or MS OneNote on the right side, while keeping your script on the left? Might make use of the touch, and then you'll have digital notes as well.
I use my Tab S6 Lite for everything these days. Note-taking at work, organizing my life, to do lists, etc... It's beyond convenient to have all of my notes and such backed up and accessible from any device.
You can make it if you shake it just locks the phone But it need to run in background which consumes battery
Thanks for your reply. I actually found a 3rd party app, which actually does exactly what i wanted. For anyone who's interested;

Alternatively, you can use a third-party touch locker app that locks your display and can be unlocked at your own disposition.
I use this that has no ads nor shady permission and is free to use.

I don't know about iOS but for Android there's this one:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=biz.obake.team.touchprotector&hl=en_US
It adds a button to your notifications panel which allows you to disable your touch screen. By default you can press your volume up/down buttons to unlock it, but you can change that from the settings.
I'm using Touch Protector
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=biz.obake.team.touchprotector
It uses the volume up/down keys as unlocks, so it works until they figure out that part. Works amazing on tablets where those buttons are harder to find.
Your best bet is this app then.

It was the best solution I found when I had an ASUS tablet a few months ago. Wasn’t the best but it can lock unintended touches, hardware, and software buttons.
Install the app Touch Protector and make three changes: 1. Lock Design -> Preset lock design -> No frame 2. While Locked -> Full screen -> Enable it 3. Safety -> 5 times touces action -> Do nothing
Voilà, crazy effect is gone :) Demo
I installed Touch Protector so I can keep Pokemon Go open with my phone in my pocket, but it works for this as well.
I've been using this app and would recommend it:
Touch Protector

I have mine set to use the hardware volume keys to unlock. Using this in combination with with Pokémon Go's battery saving (upside down phone) mode. This allows me to walk around building up km's with my phone in my pocket.
Use this. No ads, feature-rich, and added customization.

You can try an app like Touch Protector to disable the touch screen
Search for "disable touch screen" in the store.
Probably, I used this one.
Maybe you're looking for a touch blocker app like Touch Protector?
Hi! Have you tried Touch Protector?
I use Touch Protector for my apps to avoid accidental touches especially when I'm watching.
Maybe something along the lines of this? :)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=biz.obake.team.touchprotector
There's an app for that. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=biz.obake.team.touchprotector
I use a Tap Strap keyboard and my dream is to be able to turn off one screen so that I can use it as a surface to write on the other screen. It's possible to do this on a Yoga Book C930, and it's a great way for me to work. I've come close to getting this functionality with the Google Play app Touch Protector, but once it becomes possible to lock one screen and enter text in an app on the other screen, it seems like the Duo launcher becomes unstable and crashes. The screen turns off and locks; I have to turn it back on and unlock the device, but then it only lasts a few seconds before crashing and turning off again.
I would love to get some other suggestions on how to get this to work.
Edit: I'm on a Duo 1 btw. I'd recommend trying Touch Protector, if you haven't? But I assume it still won't work. I'm curious about how these locking apps are handled differently on the Duo 2...

This app does what you describe with a lot of customizability. They also use a toddler graphic in app lol.
I use this, it can also disable harware buttons, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=biz.obake.team.touchprotector
Touch Protector might be worth trying over the current app you have now. Free with no ads, but in Google Play Store.
Or you could just use something like this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=biz.obake.team.touchprotector&hl=en
