Uhh... I've had a computer pretend to be a HID (mouse) for another machine using a $5 cable --- this wasn't what I used but here's another way.
[Edit]
You could also use a phone or literally any other device....
Yes, I've successfully used my Moto G 1st Gen as a keyboard for my Raspberry Pi. Was a bit slow though.
I used this app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=remote.hid.keyboard.client&hl=en
But keep in mind it will only work on certain devices and it needs root access. It also needs custom kernel. All the instructions and requirements are in the app description.
EDIT: Just looked more into this option, but this won't work unless you're rooted, with custom kernel, on specific devices. Sorry for false hope.
If you have an Android phone, try this (assuming you can grab a few Mb of data since you're posting stuff here) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=remote.hid.keyboard.client
All you'll need is a USB cable to computer, should be picked up as an HID-compliant keyboard. May cramp your fingers, but hey if it works it works!
Good luck!
I think it's going to be a feature in a future version of Android. There is an app but it requires a custom kernel on the phone.
I have a nexus 5 and it's pretty good, it's easy to root and you can use it as a usb keyboard/mouse which might come in handy in our line of work https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=remote.hid.keyboard.client
if you have a rooted phone and compatible kernel this is much better for a sysadmin https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=remote.hid.keyboard.client
you can use your phone as an usb keyboard and mouse without installing any driver or software on the pc which means you can use it even in the bios, works best with hacker keyboard
You definitely need thermal paste for the CPU. Some kits may come with it, if they come with a CPU cooler, but they're all different. If PCpartpicker didn't flag a warning, I assume that the CPU comes with a cooler? I'd go ahead and get a small tube, it's like what, 5 bucks at newegg?
As far as the keyboard, I'm not really sure. If it has a little USB receiver/dongle that plugs in, it's probably plug-and-play, but I'm not positive. If it's a bluetooth keyboard, I'm pretty sure it won't work for installation. If you have an Android phone and cable, you can try this nifty app, or something like it.
You don't need an antistatic bracelet, but static is a real danger that you have to be aware of. If you have some wire laying around, you can wrap some around your wrist and run the other end through a hole in the case (as long as the case has bare metal touching wire, and you have bare wire touching you - you'll have to strip off some insulation if it has any on it), and you'll have a decent DIY static bracelet.
You also have to be aware of the environment. If you're wearing baggy wool clothing, for example, or you live in a very dry area, static danger will be increased. If you just put in shag carpeting and there's a sandstorm outside, you may want to pick a different time and place :) Some tips:
Make sure you have an open work area to lay out all your components within arm's reach, so you don't have to go walking back and forth, making and breaking contact with the case. Ditto goes for tools - make sure ahead of time that you have your screwdriver and flashlight and whatever else you think you'll need.
Don't take stuff out of anti-static bags until you're ready to use it.
Don't work on carpet, if possible.
Once you put the power supply in, have a grounded surge-suppressor or power strip to plug it into, and turn it off. That way the PSU isn't getting power, but it's still grounded to the earth ground, and the case is grounded to the PSU.
Good luck :)
Currently pursuing this for my Nexus 7 (2013) LTE, running Android 10:
If I could move these functionalities/features to my LTE tablet, that would be great...
Happy testing you can here:

adb might be the key....
an app lets the phone act as a hid device: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=remote.hid.keyboard.client&hl=en
If android, try this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=remote.hid.keyboard.client&hl=en
Edit: I have not tested this app.
