I personally use the Xposed Module XInsta. You need to be rooted for this.
Video Downloader for Instagram I tried GBinstagram. It installed and everything but never saved any videos when I hit "download". This app works well most of the time.

This works for me, works in the background usually, just need to "copy link" in Instagram.
