http://websta.me - Probably the closest to Iconisquare. Decent stats for free. This will probably be my immediate replacement until I find something better.

http://Collec.to - Has stats, but they are plain wrong. For example the most likes photo is not the photo with most likes. Some stats for free, premium plan €8.99 year. Very reasonable if the stats worked better.

One way they could be getting in is because they have your email password and resets the password that way and log in and delete the emails to hide their movement. Get a password manager and give every account a unique password and turn on 2FA for your email accounts.

Ok, so I downgraded the app to version 56 (previous 58 because of being an alpha member), and so far it works. There are two online tools that I use to schedule my Instagram images that DO NOT HAVE push notifications.
You set it and forget it.
As it should be.

The first is Grum.
With Grum you can schedule your images days, if not weeks, in advance.
You can add in the first comment to your post. And for most people, that's where they put their 30 hashtags.
And yes, you can upload images and video.
Also, it's real simple to use and navigate.

The second, and my go to, is Iconosquare.
With Iconosquare you can schedule your images days, if not weeks, in advance.
You can preview what it's going to look like (aka your grid layout) before it goes live.

You can upload images and video.
You can easily reply to comments on your IG posts, from Iconosquare, on your Mac (I type so much faster on my Mac than my phone, so that was REALLY helpful)

But the BEST THING about Iconosquare is that you can look at your Instagram analytics from that platform as well.
So, it will tell you:

which hashtags are working best
the best times to post (when you get the most engagement from your audience)
if video or pictures are doing better
the age and sex of your demographic
if you're losing or gaining followers

And a lot more information that will make you REAL SMART about how you approach building your brand/audience on Instagram.

With this information, you develop a strategy, you can plan content ahead of time, and again - you just play the game smarter than your counterparts.

With both of these platform options you pay, I believe, around $10/month for each.

My account @tylerkalinowicz is only done on my iPhone (save for 4 pictures from a year and a half ago done on film when I wasn't that into photography in the first place). The camera you have with you is the best camera there is man, use your phone to get into all sorts of places. Its small, great and able to get some sick shots. Vscocam can really help you get the right tones and help with getting the darks and brights the right way you want em.

Picture of a metro station in Montreal (where I live). Pretty cool because it's the only one that has inclined moving ramps (like the ones at airports but on an angle) instead of escalators so it makes for cool pictures.

Weird. I'm not an expert but it sounds like you could've been hacked tbh, by a weird hacker no less. If you've changed all your passowrds and stuff and it doesn't look like anything else was done then I wouldn't be super worried. I'd find out if your friend clicked on the link or not, they maybe could've gotten hacked if they clicked on it, or if they clicked on the link and it led to something asking for info and a login they're probably safe if they didn't put anything in. Check your login activity for your account maybe? Though I dunno if any records of logins can be deleted by hackers like browser history. And check any of your other accounts with the same email/phone number and password used to login. Also you can check here to see if your stuff has ever been leaked in a breach. If it hasn't, you could've gotten it from a number of things, like if you've clicked on any weird links lately or signed in through Instagram on any third party apps or sites (for tracking insta followers, etc). Again, that's just my guess

Sure is a solution: you need to not use the same hashtags continuously. Get RiteTag, and you'll use the browser extension to right-click and generate hashtags for any photo. Copy, post as a comment.

There is something better, but Facebook/Instagram blocks it from being advertised as it is competition. It not only works better, with no corrupted systems, or ads, but the design is also far superior.
It is a little harder to grow an audience as there is not enough people there.

You are completely right with wanting to grow organically, bot accounts will destroy your chances of that. I have also written an eBook where I talk about organic growth and what bot followers do to an account.

Instagram allows users to upload videos to Instagram Stories for only 15 seconds. I heard that they will be increasing it to a couple of minutes next year. In the meantime there are apps that allow you to easily split longer videos into segments and quickly push to your Instagram stories to be seen as a whole.

I use Repost for Instagram. The only thing it leaves is the Username you reposted from with a little repost icon (looks like retweet). It puts a caption that you can just backspace.

Does that count? It's free.

I use Followers Assistant and it's great. You can batch un-follow with it (up to 200 at a time, I believe). As others have mentioned, IG will slow you down and block you from un-following or following for about an hour if you do it too much. Un-following 50-100 an hour, you should be safe (but I wouldn't suggest more than 700 in a 24 hour period).

You could try Snapseed, it is a photo editing app with a bunch of filters (that you don't have to use), but you can crop 1:1 and add borders to the photo and adjust the thickness of the border. It might help for some of the things that you mentioned above.

I use Instashot for Android, it also allows for no crop on your video. I've love it, super simple, easy to use, and very clean interface. (It's also available for ios but I don't use ios so I'm not certain about how similar it is to the android version.)

Your issues might be bigger than Instagram. They got into this account, what's to stop them from getting into your other accounts? People are bad about reusing passwords and this is more than likely how they got in. You have given your account details to third party websites, apps, or scam sites. Many big accounts have used sites/apps for follow/unfollow, ghost followers, auto likes, bots, etc...

And lastly, a shady extension on your chrome/firefox has captured your information, or a virus/malware on your computer.

So, just be mindful about your password and you'll be fine, always have an antivirus on your PC, don't install extensions unless they are really needed, etc...

I've had two accounts disabled. The first one was an account that I used since the beginning of Instagram. I had about 1000 contacts most of which I know in real life and priceless associated memories, posts and comments from throughout the years. After a few months trying to live without Instagram I decided to create a new one. This new account was disabled two days ago.

For about 6 months, none of the appeal forms has had any kind of response or effect. I'm still logged out of both accounts.

The only common thing in both cases was the use of ExpressVPN, which may have made it look like I'm logging from different devices in different countries throughout the day, sharing IP with everyone using the same VPN location. Clearly to them this made me look like a bot account. I contacted the ExpressVPN team and the support agent said they will look into it. Little hope. I'm 100% sure that using a VPN on and off was the reason for the disabling.

This is infuriating. If only there was a way to contact Instagram support... Two or three times I've tried Facebook concierge service. It's all make believe. Nothing works. Period.

We should really find a way to get Zuckerberg's attention.
