Your problem again is your lighting set up. Do fast renders till the lights are about right. Once you have the light settings down, then do a better and higher resolution render.
Here's a bit more difficult one because of the homemade background which is nothing more than a primitive sheet square that I've textured. But because the background is there, the light for back light isn't. In these cases you come in from the sides to do the fill and back light.
This was the technique used to set the lights. You can change the angles some for effects such as making a bright back light to highlight hair, giving it a sort of glow to the edges.
