This is not really an answer about Jelurida's motivation, just a reminder that if you have bags full of Ardor (ARDR) you should really consider forging.
As the Ardor ecosystem grows, you will earn more ARDR from the blocks you forge, but even now Jelurida is paying forgers for their help securing the network by distributing IGNIS randomly to Ardor block generators via a lightweight contract. 170K Ignis per month (Ardor and Nxt forging rewards combined).

I know most of Ardor’s terms and tech are a bit difficult to understand. But forging is a pretty simple process.
All you need to do is install the Ardor wallet in FULL NODE mode and deposit/have a balance of a minimum of 1000 (one thousand) Ardor available (the more you have the higher the reward). After you have done that just click on the red “not forging” button and it will start forging.
Note that forging starts at 1 Jan of 2018, so you would have to wait for the launch of the Ardor net.
This link will provide a basic tutorial on how to forge in NXT, however the steps are almost the same.
To start forging on the Ardor network you need to have at least 1000 Ardor.
I assume its the same process as NXT-forging, just make sure you have the funds in your official NXT wallet. Then click on "Not Forging" enter passphrase and click on "Start Forging".
Note that I couldn't find information/guide on how to setup forging on Ardor. Since it hasn't been released.
Also there is a picture guide for NXT-Forging Link
That's not how open source development works though. You can't just hide the code of something and proclaim it's open source lol. For those that believe that's OK, I have a new ICO for you... HUGE open source project! Donald Trump is one of the investors. I call it scheduled open source, because I reveal the source code at some point in the future, after I get rich. But it is high quality OPEN SOURCE code, really top notch. When I was three years old, I was doing radicals, huge math in my brain. Run this .exe to see what I've got until now.
So, again, get out while you still can. The people managing this project are either clueless, or outright scammers. Oh, and they're getting funding alright, don't worry about it. Selling worthless tokens is a profitable business. https://coinmarketcap.com/assets/ardor/

We will be happy to hear any feedback from you! Let us know what u think
I see you asked the same question on the slack. That's where the Devs are most active so it's probably best to monitor that option.
for those that are interested, here's NXT's data: https://www.jelurida.com/nxt-loadtest-results
As per the dev, ARDR and NXT shoudl have similar performance
u/kamokat69, we have finally released Ignis! All Freewallet NXT holders have received 0.5 free Ignis for each NXT they had on December 28th. You can view your Ignis balance in the Multi Wallet app or download the Ignis wallet on Google Play. To see how many Ignis you have, go to "Receive" and generate your new Ignis wallet address. After that, check your balance.
This is, however, an early release and some operations are currently unavailable with Ignis. For example, you can't make outgoing transactions at this time. This is a temporary situation, and we're in direct contact with Ignis developers to get it resolved by the end of March.
We're very sorry for keeping you waiting! Our mission is to make managing Ignis simple, convenient and efficient for our users. It has taken more time than we anticipated, but we will make good on our promises. Thank you so much for your understanding and support!
I think there is a future childchain in the work for p2p loyalty community by an ISDI digital business school: https://www.slideshare.net/ArdorBlockchain/ardor-first-working-parentchild-chain-blockchain-platform-introduction-longhash-blockchain-incubator-singapore-january-2019
In my opinion, this project would have to be a new child chain as an ignis asset does not fit well that use case.
Ardor is really rallying against Bitcoin now that the Ignis snapshot has occurred. See here - https://poloniex.com/exchange/#btc_ardr. It should be in a great position once the launch occurs on January 1st at 00:00 UTC.
confirmations 1440 sounds like nxt rather than ardor, as ardor is 770. Are you sure you have the latest client? It should be2.3.3 for ardor or 1.12.2 for nxt. You also need a minimum of 1000 to forge.
Which version are you using? Win/Mac/Linux?
Are you sure the blockchain is completely downloaded? It should be a small window at the bottom right of the screen. If it is not completely downloaded it jumps around a bit. The nxt blockchain might take up to 2 days to download. You can download half the blockchain at jelurida website. The ardor should only take about half hour to download the blockchain from the beginning.
When it is downloaded, just click the start forging button and enter your passphrase.
There is a read only wallet available, so there is a chance you are using this wallet, which I believe because it is only read only, does not have the ability to forge.
Post abn update on how you go, or you could post the log file when you get the issue here or on the jerurida forum site.
Good luck
The number of transactions is artificially limited at the moment.
Currently each child chain block can contain up to 100 transactions. And there can be up to 10 child chain blocks at the same time in every Ardor block.
One block is generated every minute in average. So it makes around 1000 transactions per minute at the moment.
But as I said, that's an artificial limitation for now. Some load tests (https://www.jelurida.com/nxt-loadtest-results) were performed on Nxt (Ardor is based on Nxt), and they suggest the # of transactions could be much higher in the future.
lurker10k, no users reported their funds lost or stolen by us because none were missing. Hi! You can simply convert ARDR from Poloniex to BTC via our instant exchange:
http://Changelly.com/exchange/ardr/btc/1000
Here is a short guide how to exchange:
https://changelly.com/blog/how-to-exchange-ardr-to-btc/
1 person commentrd, therefore no discussion. A like is ephemeral. A discussion gets the ideas flowing between followers. These vids show what's been done by jelurida which is great on its own. Definitely nice to see biz development and technical progress.
Where are the educational vids on all the cool and unique features of ardor? There is a huge learning curve for newcomers. Help guide them. Don't assume they have an engineering mindset and can find and decipher all the technical info on their own. Apple doesn't market how good their motherboard or closed system is to the masses. Break down the technicals into easily digestable key points that would excite and attract your main demographic of average users/investors/enthusiasts.
Check out how mail chimp does it. https://mailchimp.com/resources/
I'm not trying to be a hater. I also want to see ardor succeed in the world if crypto. It fundamentally deserves to be noticed by the masses.
you should look up the kind of chains, technically. Whereby mining is used for Proof of Work chains, staking is used for Proof of Stake chains.
By staking you secure the network and get more coins.
To put it simply, you keep your wallet open and receive more coin in exchange for your .. work lol
There are also Delegated Proof of Stake chains, such as ARK. With those you delegate your vote to another user and he pays you the profit from his staking. This means you don't have to keep your wallet open.
I think you can "forge" (same thing) your ardor, such as with the nxt client now.
Maybe you should install the nxt client and have a look at what ur buying .. (you can store ur ardor in ur nxt wallet)
