there is a product called the zap bug that you put your luggage into and it heats it up. it needs to get to every square inch of your luggage and turn it up to at least 120 degrees fahrenheit so a thermometer is needed as well that you can put in your luggage to confirm you reached that temp.
they sell it on amazon https://www.amazon.com/ZappBug-CECOMINOD072796-Heater/dp/B00F6EV306
You could check out Nuvan Strips . A lot of people have had success using them with their vinyls as well as their electronic items. I personally haven’t used them but could be worth looking in to. You put your items in plastic totes and place a strip inside and duct tape the bin shut so it’s airtight. Otherwise, if you go the storage route, yes, about a year for them to die but 15 months should do the trick.
yea. I bought one of these amazon link and it's worked out alright so far. I figured bb nymphs where small so I'd need it to Id them.
Buy Crossfire. Mix well. Sleep soundly. Kills them at all stages by attacking their nervous system and kills in 5 mins.
Yes! I bought this one on Amazon.
Utopia Bedding Premium Zippered Waterproof Mattress Encasement - Bed Bug Proof Mattress Cover - Ample Zipper Opening for Mattress Protector - Protection from Fluids, Insects and Dust Mites (Queen) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JIV5YES/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ysdUBbM8KC612
Start with washing the sheets and linens in hot water, high heat dry. That's what kills them. Hopefully you're catching them early. Since you tossed the mattress already, would recommend getting a few insect sprays. I had this same problem back in March and got a natural spray that was safe to use around pets, it's called EVADE. I got it on Amazon. Helped nipped my problem quick.
If you have pet beds, spray those down as well because sometimes the bed bugs will start making its home out there, and that begins a whole new problem.
You want to empty out any dressers, remove hanging clothes. Remove books and other items out. You can put them in bags and leave them outside in a garage during the cold months. They can live up to 6 months to year without food. High heat and freezing temps are the only thing that kills them naturally. I got plastic bins with lids and stored stuff in there and ducktaped them up. That’s handy because there are strips you can put in them Nuvan ProStrips - Package of 12 Strips with 12 Cages - 16 Gram https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0073ZOOQ6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_bnqKFbWSJGGTP but they are dangerous to breath in at all. I literally emptied everything but the furniture and curtains because those can be sprayed with poison. I have been spraying consistently every 2-3 weeks and don’t plan on stopping ever. I don’t ever want to go through that nightmare again! Good luck!
From what I've gathered in this sub, batbugs look like hairy bedbugs. This insect is not hairy. Def bedbug, sorry :(
If you live in NYC, call 311 and get the HPD inspector to get the infestation on file, or else your landlord can try to cover it up so they can half-ass the treatment and conceal the infestation history from future tenants/current neighbors.
In any case, consider investing in a Zapbug for your belongings. You can stick things inside and kill any bugs or eggs within an hour. Be sure carefully remove the belongings and wrap them tightly in plastic (e.g garbage bag tied shut, vaccuum storage bag, etc).
Be aggressive and circumspect during your treatment process, and it'll hopefully only be a few weeks of aggravation for you. Best of luck.
Highly recommend Cimexa as well
https://www.amazon.com/CimeXa-Insecticide-ounces-bottle-Rockwell/dp/B0085HRWI8
Not very expensive at all, apply as specified by the label with a makeup applicator or paintbrush.
While your shit is treated move your bed / bedframe away from the wall, make sure your blankets don't bridge to the floor.
Your bed-frame is the most important thing to treat as bedbugs like hiding very close to wherever you sleep.
I think there is a risk. I bought the below and am putting everything in it. Once cooked, I'm putting things in a airtight bin until I'm 100% certain they're gone. I'm also washing and drying on the hottest heat every single piece of clothing, linens, etc. What have you done to treat everything else that was exposed? Things could be quite different in 3 weeks. Ugh. Good luck!!!

another thing that would be helpful for you is buy a metal bed frame on amazon and get your mattress up off the floor. put interceptors on all the legs and put cimexa powder in them. this is the bed frame i got and it is really good and not flimsy.
https://www.amazon.com/SenSci-Bed-Bug-Detection-Kit/dp/B00WR8F3LO
Did they install and monitors? These are AMAZING. I use them on every bed bug job. I leave them after treatment as well and tel the tenant/owner to inspect daily or weekly whatever but just keep an eye out.
these should work. Also buy interceptors for your bed posts.
They also make every smell nice afterwards because they kill even the bacteria and stuff.
I would seriously consider buying a 'bug oven'. A place I stayed had bedbugs and I was so paranoid about bringing them home that I did some research and bought one before returning.
You can fit all your luggage in them and heat them on a timer to kill everything. It's great for piece of mind and in your situation you can make sure nothing has travelled with you.
They ship internationally too I believe.
I stripped off in the garden and put all my luggage and clothes in before entering the house then cooked the hell out of it all!
I do it every time I return from somewhere now. Maybe overkill but it gives a lot of mental relief.
This is the bed my kids have now. It's actually a great bed so that's a win.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07K32N27N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And yes, I saw them on a public bus as well.
Keep them sealed for a year and a half in plastic storage bags you can purchase at Amazon...the kind that zip up tightly. After that time, they should all be dead, probably a lot sooner, such as a year. Or you can use large trash bags and knot them up well. Or replace all your treasured books with ebook versions...that's exactly what I did. Thanks to bedbugs, the pleasure of having your own personal library can be more trouble than it's worth.
I bought 1kg of diatomaceous earth on amazon for 15,90€ and I wanted to test it.
During the day I captured some bed bugs in a pot and added two piles of diatomaceous earth.
The result is a timelapse of 10min, the bed bugs seem to struggle with the diatomaceous earth, you can see that two of them are stuck on their back. I should have used something else than a glass jar because bedbugs are moving with difficulty.
I'm quite satisfied with the result, I surrounded the wooden baseboards of my room with lines of earth and threw some in the small crevices.
This product worked wonders for me: https://www.amazon.com/advion-Plungers-Cockroach-Insecticide-Australian/dp/B00730QW70/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?keywords=roach+gel&qid=1661960239&sr=8-5
I live in Atlanta, GA, so I still have the occasional American cockroach just due to the climate, but after applying I went from finding the Germans day and night to maybe 1-2 every few months and when I do I reapply and find their bodies shortly thereafter.
No bomb. Only spray.
I used about a full can of this per week. On the:
mattress covers - mostly on the bottom edges and corners of the box spring cover
bed frame and bed legs
baseboards
I washed and dried the mattress covers (and sheets) on hot weekly. Followed by the spray. The bedbugs were gone within 2-4 weeks, and my infestation was moderately progressed.
The mattress covers also make it so you don't have to buy new mattresses, more or less.
They were also a little bit on the bottom of my desk chair, so I sprayed that too.
I would highly recommend you pick up some Cimexa:

https://www.amazon.com/CimeXa-Insecticide-ounces-bottle-Rockwell/dp/B0085HRWI8

It is far, far more effective than DE.
My BB mattress protector is not crinkly at all so I'd just go with a new cover.
We have these:
A preventative non-chemical measure you can take against cockroaches and also bed bugs is diatomaceous earth (ideally food grade), for example it can be applied to the slats on your beds where they meet the frame and all around the skirting boards and the inside of the bottom of bedside tables/furniture and so on, even behind your couch cushions, cracks around edges of light switches, sockets & fixings.
You don't need a lot and its fairly cheap, I use a simple barbers hair applicator like this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07T9CK5R6/ and a single half-full tank does my entire house and will still have plenty left over.
Its not harmful to pets or people and completely organic however you don't want to breath it in or get it in your eyes, its not pleasant, same for pets, a simple paper/fiber dust mask or otherwise known as a sanding mask will suffice whilst applying, common sense stuff. Using a cheap applicator like the one above though prevents it making a cloud, and helps ensure you get it exactly where you intend it.
Aye cockroach, the long antennae give it away. Bed bugs are often more difficult to spot until you see one and when you do see one then you likely have some form of infestation, there is never just one.

We currently have a fabric steamer.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZUWUHLK/ref=cm_sw_r_api_i_0648C924YVBS0EWDDD45_0.I tried yo use this couple of times but idk didnt seem useful. But will a floor steamer work good?
Have you noticed any activity in your home? Any strange unexplained bites?

When you leave work, thoroughly inspect all of your clothing. Seams, pockets, literally everywhere, especially your shoes.

Do you drive? Stop at a hardware or department store on your way home, pick up a pack of these. DONT USE THESE FOR ANYTHING ELSE EXCEPT THIS EXPLICIT PURPOSE! Strip naked when you get home, throw all of your clothes, shoes, and personal belongings in the car. Make sure the windows are up, and set off all the foggers in your car. Let it sit for at least 4 hours, longer if possible. Then roll the windows down and air it out.

If you don't drive, pick up some kind of airtight plastic bag on your way home. When you get home, strip naked (shoes and all), and put everything in the plastic bag. Leave the bag outside until you can take it to a laundromat, and run it through a commercial dryer for at least an hour at high heat.

If you have any other personal items you're worried about, like a phone or laptop, I might be able to give advice.
I would definitely tear the hotel room apart and see if you can't find one of the buggers. Try to get moved to a different room, make as much of a stink as you can.

Is there any laundry in the hotel room? Or any laundromats nearby? Before you switch rooms, and/or before you go home, run all your clothes through the dryer for an hour on high heat. Don't run them through the wash, just the dryer. Transfer all the clothes into new plastic bags without any holes, and seal the bags tight. I would personally get rid of the suitcase.

Did you drive? If you have any electronics or anything else that can't be tossed in a dryer, leave it all in your car. Pick up a pack of these. Note that I do not otherwise recommend using these for any other purpose. Get all of your shit in your car, make sure the windows are rolled up, and set all of the foggers off in your car. Let it sit for at least 4 hours, then roll the windows down and air it out.

Before you first go back in to your house/apartment, strip naked. If you can bag up those clothes, do so, otherwise you can just throw them out. Same with whatever shoes you're wearing. If you don't throw this stuff out, make sure you also run it through a dryer.

Best of luck.
No problem! This is what helped my cat. I also used it in another cat a long time ago and it always helps fast after the first use. Good luck!
Hi, as the other poster suggested, get Crossfire and if you can, also Cimexa. I would alternate every two weeks with them so they didn't get used to either If you can afford it, highly recommend a steamer like this one that we got. It was a cost and sanity saver. We vacuumed, then steamed and then added the pesticides. The steamer killed so many of them on contact and also got them out of the smallest spaces, like my bed frame. We also caulked all around the walls so no holes were open for them to hide. The rule is that if a credit card can fit through it, so can a bb. It's been over a year, and tbh, I may have PTSD from them for awhile BUT they are gone. Good luck!
No thoughts and prayers needed. Just cymexa. Please share the following with anyone you know suffering from bedbugs. This stuff killed an infestation my mom suffered through for years once she finally found it.
If you can't get it in your state - are you able to order Harris 5 min Bed Bug Killer? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BK76CCZ -Harris uses the same ingredients as Crossfire except there's no 24 hour limit effectiveness to it - so in many ways it's even better. It is however a bit more pricey, but still peanuts compared to an exterminator who will use the same thing. Green Aker talks about Harris 5 min here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sw0xrBnkKIg&t
Try temprid! Or this raid spray it has the same in ingredients raid foaming sprayas crossfire but it has to be this one not any of the other raid products
This sounds like it really sucks, I'm sorry you're in this situation.
On a budget and without co-operation, really the best you can do is reduce their impact on you for a few years until you can move out.
That means making you a harder target than your parents. One way to do this is grabbing some bed bug interceptors. You put them under the legs of your bed; the bugs try to climb through them and get stuck inside. Then in the morning you kill what's in the interceptor.
This actually. We go 20secs slow per foot so it gets hot as fuck. I cooked a spider and I've cooked a bunch of carpet beetle larvae so I'm definitely killing something 😅

OP, I just went through something similar. I bought this camera on Amazonand took these pictures and found out it was bird mites. Don’t know for sure if that’s what you have but I also immediately thought bird mites like others have suggested. Hope this helps. Good luck!
Bed Bug Trap — 8 Pack | TruGuard X Bed Bug Interceptors (White) | Eco Friendly Bed Bug Traps for Bed Legs | Reliable Insect Detector, Interceptor, and Monitor for Pest Control and Treatment https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0853DTRDZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_3MWNFF23HCBDBXFQD38S?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 these are helpful and if the bugs aren’t already like living in your mattress it could save you from getting crappy sleep for the next few months until you can get the infestation resolved. I didn’t get something like this until too late in the game, but save your sleep save your sanity!
I’m not an expert by any means, but I currently have mattress and bed spring encasements from Hospitology, and have no complaints so far! Easy to install, and they zip tie latch at the zippers (which is where it seems most encasements fail at keeping BB out).

yes. that is a microscope. any optical device that magnifies small objects will do. my families bed bug business uses those and keeps something like this in their trucks for identification:

Maybe start with a ~$55 bed bug encasement and dry everything 40mins on high. Regularly. Tightly sealed garbage bags when moving things in and out of the room. Throw out the bags when done. Focus on the areas closest to where you (and others) sleep. If you have a landlord, tell them they need to deal with it. Good luck :( it's rough out here.

In my experience it wasn’t too hard to get proper picture. I used an $8 lens that clips onto my phone camera… the PhD entomologist I sent the pictures to complimented me about the clarity of the photos. You could clearly see that the hairs on its head extended beyond the width of its eye, which I was told is the main distinguishing feature for Cimex Adjunctus (bat bugs).

"I've thoroughly inspected it many times and can't find any evidence. I feel like I'm going crazy. Any advice besides just getting a new bed frame?"
Did pest control spray your mattress and bed frame? Unless they used Crossfire (which is the only pro chem rated for mattress), they likely didn't spray the mattress.
Bed frame like yours would be extremely difficult to treat 100% thoroughly. BB love wood and love cracks.
Personally, I would get rid of that bed frame, not just for this incident but for future peace of mind. But whether you keep the frame or not, I suggest you get Crossfire Aerosol and spray every inch of the mattress and (new or old frame.
https://www.amazon.com/Crossfire-Bed-Bug-Aerosol/dp/B01MYEJOTN
>thinking of setting up a tent outside with an air mattress
I can understand the sentiment. You're not far off on the idea, though. Sleeping in an indoor tent on top of your bed won't mess up anything your pest control guy plans to do:
it was a canopy. it looked exactly like this
Queen Canopy Bed Frame 4 Corner Post Canopy Metal Bed Frame with headboard & Footboard Platform Bed Iron Bed Frame, Metal Steel Slat Mattress Support,no Box Spring Needed,Easy Assembly,Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08Y8DFKZT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_PCM0S253CBACZ6JS0BHD
>Maybe I AM becoming crazy
You WILL go crazy at this rate. Contact your landlord with photos/proof bed bugs are still active, so hopefully he will treat the entire building or at least the neighboring apartments at the same time.
In the meanwhile, in order to prevent going insane and dropping out of school, you need to sleep. Buy this and sleep on top of bed:
Just interceptors around the feet of the bed
On our side of the dividing wall, we only ever got them in our bedroom. The whole rest of the house was clear. And our kid slept in there with us. And my wife is pretty allergic to all bug bites. Mosquito bites are crazy on her.
>How do you treat a car?
You spray the inside of the car including the trunk with Crossfire one time, which has a 30 day residual and should be good enough.
Steam. Honestly get a hand steamer from Amazon. I think they are like 30$ or Something. If the infestation is bad. Start with your clothes and keep them Bagged.
Declutter what you can.
Get bed bug covers for your mattress.
But honestly it might be worth it to get an exterminator. Some even have a gaurentee that they’ll get rid of them
Or
See if You can find one of these for Cheap online.
Dr Infrared Heater Portable Bedbug Heater 2-Tier, 18 Cubic Feet, with Thermometer and Timer https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00ZOUCYDW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Y3YNV8B79KAQS6RKAMG6
this is the one we have. you want one that is lab tested bed bug proof. a lot of them aren’t and are useless.

Here’s the one I have
"bed frame is built so that I can not see all of it"
In that case, to collect proof, in addition to putting interceptors on bed legs, I would consider laying down some glue traps on the sides of mattress (using double sided tape) or even on top of mattress if there is room. If you can find double sided tape that is extremely sticky, you can use them instead of glue traps, but most double sided tapes can't trap the ultra light BB.
You can buy the big ones and cut them to narrower strips
>I just have a mattress and a box spring so I have no way to do that :(
If I were you, I would reinspect your matress and (especially) box spring and order yourself a simple metal bed frame for $50 to place interceptors under.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R85CZRP/ref=sbl\_dpx\_bedroom-beds\_B00ABGSTY2\_0a
"(My bed frame has 6 drawers connected to the bottom and sits flat on the ground it’s not elevated)"
Unfortunately, that's really the worst kind of bed to inspect and/or treat for BB. Bedbug nymphs can be literally <1mm and can look pale/brown, which is very difficult to see hiding in some obscure nook or wood joint.
And it would be so much work and labor to essentially dissemble the entire bed to the last screw and panel, inspecting inch by inch, preferably with something like this UV flashlight. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B088YT3HL8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Pest control is unlikely to spend that much effort into inspection, either.
You are the one who have not actually seen or found a legit BB, right?
Instead of just pest control inspection, I would look for a reputable company with BB dog inspection.
Baits and glue traps won't stop them from getting up into bed and biting. Get something like these intercptors under bed/futon legs.
You can probably rest easy. I'm beyond paranoid so don't do this unless you're like me. I would put out a couple bait traps under your bed like these: SenSci ActivVolcano Bed Bug Monitor and Lure - 4 Pack - Volcano Bed Bug Monitor and ActivCR Bed Bug Lure https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WR8F3LO/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_R4DKQS8ZTXHGND7TDKTH
&/Or interceptors under your bed posts, like this: Zulu Supply Bed Bug Interceptors, White, Traps, 8 Pack, Bedbug Monitor, Detector for Bed Legs or Furniture (White) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07V8D6DYL/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_B0ZW6BRJJKEX5H0PHQFD?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I am done with Orkin and I couldn’t recommend them. They’ve rescheduled multiples times with me and still don’t even show up. I just read some reviews on here and bought this
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004BAEF7E?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share&th=1&psc=1
>make one massive trash bag? Seal it up and then throw a nuvan strip in there?
Just what I was thinking. While at it, might as well throw in computers, electronics, etc together in the giant bag.
I would personally use King size mattress moving plastic bag and duct tape them together to make a giant Nuvan chamber. (Hot Shot No Pest strip 2 is same chemical/concentration as Nuvan Pro)
That would be very hard to part ways with. Just move as if you have an active infestation, very carefully. I lived in my apartment and had an exterminator spray three times, just to see them coming back after 6 months. Which then resulted in me getting more treatments, and feeling like it was going to be a never ending battle since neighboring units weren’t being treated. During that time, I posted on here and I had another Reddit user recommended I try crossfire specifically the aerosol premixed formula. I decided to buy it in order spray my furniture one finale time Before storing them away. If I had moved that furniture into a new place, I probably would have continuously bought it for the first couple of months and kept treating it as precaution. Good luck, in a month I’d love to hear that you’re doing great in your new place as well!

>My wife, family, I’m sure people on here. And the pest pros all think I’m crazy.
Listen, since you sound like you are about to lose your mind (I know the feeling), get one of these bug tents and sleep in it on top of your bed for a couple of weeks. If your "bites" do not stop, then you do not have bed bugs (or any other bugs biting).
Unless one has stared at his his/her bed ALL night, unable to get on it to get any sleep, bedbug tent idea may not resonate.
If I knew what I know now, I would:
Spray mattress-safe chemical (e.g. Crossfire) on mattress/boxspring/frame and sleep in a bug tent on top of the bed, using myself as bait, but without getting bitten overnight. That Walmart Ozark tent is too enclosed to be used as self bait, since BB may not be able to detect your carbon dioxide/body heat/pheromones to come to the treated bed. It would also become too hot and claustrophobic in hot weather.
Amazon will deliver this reasonably-priced, very-open bug tent in several days.
The bites that look different this time could still be BB because bites of nymphs will typically be smaller and cause less reaction/itchiness.
To rule out fleas, this is a cheap trap that will work (much less likely to catch BB or mites, but possible).https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B098392VCW/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Similar scenarios seem to be coming up a lot on this subreddit. Do what I did and sleep in a bug tent on top of bed for a few weeks and see if the "bites" stop or not. Always carefully get in there in clean clothes. If the "bites" continue, go see a dermatologist.
Looked at those photos. Although no one can tell with certainly from looking at rashes, some of them, especially ones with clusters of distinct red bumps, look to be bedbug bites to me.
If I were you, get one of these bug tents and sleep in it for a couple of weeks. If no new rashes develop, you'll know the answer. I did that...
It's very frustrating. If I were you, I would do 2 things:
You can buy one like this or similar for $12 and outsource the photo to this subreddit for free, or you can pay someone $100 to come identify it using the same exact thing.
It is basically impossible to identify the difference between these bugs without being able to see the hairs

Because to my knowledge, cimicidae “butts” don’t have a vertical “seam”, which that kind of looks like. But it’s possible one just happened to break in half vertically like that? If you cover up one side of a pic of a cimicidae, it does quite similar to that.
How about the question about bats or barn swallows? Is there an attic someone could inspect for guano? But also, bat bugs are typically “hairier” than that, but maybe the hair or lack thereof would be visible under closer magnification.
If you get one of these you can get very close pictures of what you’re finding. You could also look at your suspected bites. For me, I am always able to discern an apparent “puncture” in any bites I get.
You need to check ALL crevices anywhere near your bed. You need to open up all pillow cases and look for bugs. You need to remove sheets and look in the sheets, and along seams in the mattress/box spring/frame/legs etc. Check the baseboards. Check cracks in the flooring. Collect ANYTHING you find with packaging tape or scotch tape. But a cheap microscope on amazing for $20 or less, take a look and post photos of THE BUGS.
I thought I had bedbugs too but quickly discovered what I had was MITES.

I bought and like these ones from Amazon. They come in an 8 pack as well and come in black or white. I prefer the white as it’s easier to see any bedbugs that got stuck.
During my infestation, I made sure to clean it out every day (I have a cat and her fur gets stuck in there making it less effective). You can sprinkle a bit of Cimexa or DE (Diatomaceous Earth) in them if you want, but it’s not necessary. Just helps kill them while they’re in there!
If you have extra/old Tupperware, you can DIY your own interceptors! There are tons of great videos on YouTube with tutorials. :)
Apologies if someone has already suggested this but I highly recommend you buy a thermalstrike ranger. It is a "hot box" that you can put your entire suitcase inside along with whatever items you choose and it will heat it at a temperature that will kill all bugs and eggs. I got hit with bedbugs at an AirBnB I was staying at on vacation and so I had one of these hot boxes delivered to my house and was able to heat everything before re-entering the house and thus prevent bringing the infestation back with me. In this case you can pack your suitcase put it in a garbage bag and heat it before leaving for your trip.
I got them on Amazon link There's no DE powder, it's just some slippery moat. Should I be putting something in them?
Yes! It is a (concentrate)[https://www.amazon.com/MGK-1852-Crossfire-Concentrate-Insecticide/dp/B01NAE47Q0/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=3UYIKXJL7RY64&keywords=crossfire+concentrate&qid=1640497644&sprefix=crossfkre+con%2Caps%2C155&sr=8-3] you mix as well.. I'm not sure where others buy it, but i was thinking of ordering this week.
I was mainly going to use it at my family home, (i don't live here but stay often) but it is where they started here. Still planning on treating my apartment to be safe, where my pets are but I'm worried about my cats as well. I'd be careful.. Spraying in shower sounds like a good idea.
There are a variety of pests that can bite you. You need to actively try to catch some. If you can, put bed bug interceptors on the bed legs. If you don’t have legs on your bed, you can just use wooden blocks to prop up the bed and put the interceptors under. I used these furniture risers but any wooden block would do. Another option I’ve seen from others is putting sticky pads all around the perimeter of your bed. That way bed bugs are trapped if they ever come to try to get you.
Also since you haven’t seen any bed bugs, I suggest getting some type of flea trap in case it’s another bug. It has a light that attracts fleas/mosquitos and sticky pad that traps them when they try to get to the light.
Once you catch a bug, you can show the landlord/exterminator so they can’t say you’re making it up and finally deal with the problem.
This was the one i bought at my local walmart (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Steamfast-SF-447-Compact-Garment-Steamer/975849032).
There isn't really an end all be all steamer that's gonna get the job done, the important thing is to make sure that it reaches those temps. And how long it can be used per use on the furniture to maximize treatment.
The one i shared is something someone on a really tight budget who cannot afford to rent or drop more then like 30 dollars on a steamer.
The next one im gonna post is recommended by a pest control operator on youtube, he makes DIY product lists on amazon for people based on their pest problem. So its pricey, but it has way more uses than a hand held travel steamer, especially since it have multiple different attachments and can be used in the your vehicle, which is great cuz your if you ever go on vacation your gonna want to treat the vehicle also as BBs can infest the vehicle from luggage if where ever you stayed had an existing infestation.
If you want to get rid your box spring, this all metal one is amazing
Bed Bug Interceptors – 4 Pack | Bed Bug Blocker (XL) Interceptor Traps (White) | Extra Large Insect Trap, Monitor, and Detector, for Bed Bugs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RN1H95Z/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_CQ2EH1SG1Z9E5SF61MAP?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 You don’t necessarily have to get these specifically but this is just example. They go on the legs of your bed and they catch the bedbugs and prevent them from getting to you on the bed. If you get serious enough they might even start trying to climb the walls to get to you and drop down to you from the ceiling so you could also think about putting a layer of tape around all of your walls. I was also thinking you said you were living in a hotel it’s possible that you might now be spreading them to other rooms or other rooms are contaminated and they’re spreading to you now so what I would do is go to the hotel management and tell them what you found. If they are going to move you to a new room and maybe even bring out an exterminator.

Something like this!!! You put them under your bed legs
This brand SafeRest has been highly recommended by some pest control YouTube channels.
Box Spring (https://www.amazon.com/SafeRest-Premium-Box-Spring-Encasement/dp/B004BAPK0K)
Can the dresses be steamed or dry cleaned? If so that could be an option for you. If you take them to the dry cleaners, make sure to warn them ahead of time that they may be infested with bed bugs. There are dry cleaners that have procedures for this, so make sure to ask the one you use if possible.
You could also try using a fumigation strip (https://www.amazon.com/Nuvan-ProStrips-Package-Strips-Cages/dp/B0073ZOOQ6), but this will require you to wash them afterwards.
The people upstairs from me moved in almost a year ago so I'm not exactly sure, but like you said, it's hard to pinpoint out exactly being that over the summer we were away, we'd go to the movie theaters, stayed at friend's house, etc.
I'll check out Target tomorrow. The super Walmart by me is too chaotic 😂.
& I'm going to order this tonight! Bed Bug Interceptors – 4 Pack | Bed Bug Blocker (XL) Interceptor Traps (White) | Extra Large Insect Trap, Monitor, and Detector, for Bed Bugs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RN1H95Z/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_2ST7HX1R8Y6D05WM32Q7
I'm not super handy and a bit sleep deprived so idk about making my own 😂, but this seems to have a good reviews.
You're definitely pointing me in the right direction because the only thing I was going to do tomorrow was laundry and pray haha.
Funny thing is since the bites started in August, I never ever not once saw a BB myself. Even after inspecting months ago when bites first started happening, nothing. All until the guy today lifted the box spring up and was like, bam! "See that?" And I saw that little shithead blood sucker filled with my DNA in a corner. UGH.
And omg same. I slept with the TV on, laying near the edge of my bed just wanting to crawl out of my skin. I'm itchy all over mentally. I kept flashing my flash light every few minutes whenever I was convinced I felt something and nothing. Absolutely awful!!!
Yeah tbh I am 90% sure it’s just a small nettle not a bed bug, bedbugs are very distinct and easy to ID most of the time (unless that specimen has been dead for awhile or deformed etc). I think you are ok! If you are really paranoid, buy fruit fly sticky traps (something like this: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08GLPQWFL?asc_refurl=https://www.bobvila.com/articles/best-fruit-fly-trap&asc_source=browser&linkCode=gs2&tag=bv0206-20) place it around your bed from on the bottom. This way you can easily catch bedbugs if they are there and it will be easy to ID while also killing a couple of them!
Maybe something like that? To try and fill the gap as much as possible!
I didn't see anyone else mention it, but when I had an infestation at my last apartment, I was told to plug my wall outlets.
Something like this sealed with a piece of plastic to make a tight seal.
This is helpful! Have you tried using bed bug sprays? I’ll link some in this comment. I’ve used both of these.

I always give this link when people talk about moving. It has some great tips to help avoid bringing them with you.
As for your electronics. If you can live without them for a few weeks, I would recommend getting some Nuvan Strips. They’re kinda pricy but they do a great job! You could put the computers (and anything else) in plastic bins (or garbage bags!), stick a Nuvan strip in there, seal it with duct tape so no air can get out (tie the bag airtight for garbage bags), and wait two-three weeks. The strips should kill any bug that could be inside the electronics. My guess is that the tv and computer are gonna be fine, bedbugs don’t usually like to infest those items but it’s not impossible either.
After you steam and seal mattress and box spring, and spray the bed frame and legs, and move bed away from all walls/dressers (anything they can climb up) pop these under all bed legs. At least you’ll get some sleep! If u add powder so they die on impact, you get to see which direction they are coming from too. GL!

Make sure you have disposable vacuum bags so they aren’t getting trapped in the actual vacuum. Wash everything on hot and dry on hot(I dried twice) move your bad away from the wall and look into these
