My Boston would not tolerate any boots other than this style (I called them balloon shoes, they're exactly like balloons). They don't really help much with cold, although not being in direct contact with snow would allow her to stay out a little longer. They're great for grip though. No joke, she never minded them at all. After putting regular boots on her she wouldn't walk, and flail until they'd fall off. These things she instantly went around running. They make an awesome little squish noise too.
I got them on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Pawz-Water-Proof-Dog-Small-2-Inch/dp/B001J22876/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1516396192&sr=8-1&keywords=dog+balloon+shoes
You need a harness where the leash attaches to the chest part of the harness not the back. Like this one: Easy Walk Harness
When your dog tries to pull, their momentum will pull them off course. You can also halt your movement to intensify the effect. Both my BTs have this type of harness. Works like a charm.
Try a mask. Amazon
Yes, Pebbles is very sensitive to grass. I try to have her wear little t-shirts if I know we’ll be outside for an extended amount of time. And we also use a spray when she does break out that has always cleared it up in a couple days.
And I absolutely love the name your son chose! 🤣😍💕
I’ve had three Boston’s and have learned you can’t have any toys with stuffing. These indestructible frisbees have been great. Had to slam on the brakes to avoid a car. No accident but the change in momentum caused my guy to hit the dashboard. Not super hard, but not softly either.
Here’s the link! My dogs aren’t very tough chewers but when they do chew these they maybe get a few threads out the edge. But never destroyed (though they don’t really destroy any of their toys).
I got these on Amazon for $22 for a pack of three, the only downside to these is there is little to no padding so I’d recommend using these with diapers onsies
These are pebbles favorite, she likes the blueberry and apple flavors so far 😊
She likes these too!
Also, idk if this is even helpful or something you may want, but I thought to share that we just picked up this cooling mat on Amazon and it actually helps a bit. We have her lay on it when we are outside in the heat. Of course it doesn’t work as well in direct sunlight but it’s been helpful in shade on these 90 degree days with no air conditioning!
We have used this but didn't need it anymore by the time our pup was that weight. I believe it was good for 18 lbs so it might be too little, but there's similar ones as well. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B62YX1V/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_nQsuFbMWPJ20D
Have you seen the interactive treat puzzles? Our Bostons have 2 of them and they really love them. I got mine on Amazon.
I have been doing walks with a retractable leash and I do have a 6 ft non-retractable one so I could change thing up that way. I'm hoping that putting the leash on front of the current harness I have will help but I may need to do that wonder walker as it is a slightly different design.
This is what I currently have: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0792X4B29/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
I know, I need training myself lol.
Ha some dogs are good at wiggling out of booties! We ordered some pretty basic ones on Amazon and they work fine for us but some people have better luck with these Pawz brand booties.
Our BT had this too. The vet suggested fiber and we tried all kinds of things including pumpkin. The pumpkin worked but she got sick of it.
The last thing we tried was about a year ago and 2 tablespoons a day has been working ever since: Perfect Poop Digestion & Health Supplement for Dogs: Fiber, Prebiotics, Probiotics, Enzymes Digestive, Hard & Soft Stool, Improved Health https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TM54XJD
We like that we can mix it into whatever she's getting for dinner. I hope you find something that works for you - that is an awful smell! Here's an animal odor eliminator spray we found helpful in getting rid of it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000O5JUJ8
I recently got mine this jacket and this harness. They both fit pretty well (they have size charts which are helpful). Penny has done well with both so far.
I’m so sorry this happened!! Please don’t feel bad for your response - it’s the most horrible and unexpected event to witness. My pup Evie got attacked a few months ago and I was totally useless but I feel more confident now some time has past and I’ve done my research. I’m based in the UK so we’re not permitted to carry bear/pepper spray. I ordered this instead https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bite-Back-Non-Toxic-Deterrent-50ml/dp/B075LPJ8PP/ref=asc_df_B075LPJ8PP/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=255786433646&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=679919499223083918&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&am... - I’ve never had to use it but knowing I’ve got it makes me feel 100x better. As others have mentioned, pulling the dog’s back legs away from your dog is the method I’ve been recommended. I hope you and your pups are okay ❤️
These are pretty robust, plus there’s a little tinkly bell inside. We’ve had the same one for years now.
Justfoodfordogs it's fresh and human grade. Try to refrain from giving him high-fat foods. It worked for our Charlie and we never looked back.
Another thing that really worked are these probiotics; I promise you it worked!
https://www.chewy.com/naturvet-advanced-probiotics-enzymes/dp/128171
We've tried every one on the market, and nothing beats this! Hope your baby feels better soon ❤️🍁
We got a slow feeder (cloth) bowl that has helped, and switching to Nulo https://www.chewy.com/nulo-freestyle-salmon-red-lentils/dp/281451 made a huge difference in the smell! She still farts, but it's not usually as bad.
Here's a great dog review site I like to use: https://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-reviews/brand/
it was that one! i've been telling everyone about it because it's so amazing. i will never use the plastic ones again. he can sleep and sit in it comfortably. it doesn't rub him and it doesn't make them feel like they're choking. it's so soft and forms around their neck. we also got it in two days when we ordered it. it's wonderful. every dog owner should use it instead of the plastic ones.
You are so welcome, let us know how she’s doing! ❤️
highly recommend. he likes it so much more and i don't feel bad when he's wearing it 😂 it's a lot more soft and comfy. it came in 2 days.
our boston loves these :
there complicated enough to keep him busy but not complicated enough where he can't figure them out. best of both worlds. also, be careful with the kong toys. the ones where you put treats in the middle. i've read a lot about them being choking hazards. had a friends dog who choked on one too.
Pebbles also had car sickness when she was a puppy and the following link is her car seat and she loves it! She’s about 25/26 lbs and just about fits, and can curl up/lay down in it.
https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/good2go-auto-booster-seat-in-gray
This second one is the one we just got for Bam Bam as he grew out of the one above, at 32 lbs, but he’s also a lot longer/taller so he wasn’t able to lay down at all. The second one fits him so much better.
A lick mat is a silicone flat puzzle like plate that you can put treats in! Our Boston has some anxious scratching energy and we find that the lick mat focuses his attention and gives him an activity to calm him down and stimulate his senses so he doesn’t scratch himself silly. You can get them in all kinds of shapes and sizes, and I highly recommend them! We love to occasionally give Winnie peanut butter on his mat and it keeps him entertained for close to an hour.
Here is an example of one of one but there are cheaper/different options out there and can be found at pretty much every pet store now a days.
I use medicated shampoo on my Boston cause they are prone to skin problems. Mine started get blotches on his skin and this stuff really works. My Boston also has a dandruff problem if i use normal shampoo. Since i started using this stuff the skin issues have not recurred. He’s super healthy. 10/10 recommend if yours has any issues.
This. Check with a vet but my Boston also had sensitive skin and the same kind of thing going on on his belly. I used this stuff https://www.chewy.com/veterinary-formula-clinical-care/dp/43540 which really helped. I have also used the purple version of it because i saw sole hair clumping and bald spots. Use as directed. Vet also recommended changing his food to something grain free as it could be a food allergy. So i switched my guy to natures recipe grain free dog food. I haven’t seen a skin issue since. I know there are likely better dog foods but i’m afraid to switch as he tolerates this one very well and looks very healthy.
Good thing dogs aren’t children. We do not tolerate the handing out of an dangerous advice in the sub rated.
OP, here’s a book that’s a great resource on this issue. https://www.amazon.com/Mine-Practical-Guide-Resource-Guarding/dp/0970562942
Strong Stainless Steel Gold Dog... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09GXLLM7B?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Measure your dogs collar that it usually wears or measure it’s neck. Then ad 2 inches and that’s the size you want. If you want it bigger or smaller you can just shoot it back to Amazon and they’ll have the perfect one on the way. Yes he knows he is special dripping gold baby:)
I got a vest from Amazon that their legs fit through but it supports their body. It comes with 4 hooks and rope so you can basically put it between two chairs or whatever works and it suspends the dog off the floor. Zoey adapted immediately and didn't show any distress when I clipped her nails (and cleaned her ears) Without it I get winded chasing her around the house once she sees the nail clippers. I got a real cheap one because I wasn't sure how it would work, it was less than $10. Here's a different one just to give you the idea https://www.amazon.com/jenico-Grooming-Hammock-Harness-Cats/dp/B09XDY4B1Q/ref=sr\_1\_2?keywords=dog%2Bharness%2Bfor%2Bnail%2Btrim&qid=1657476240&refinements=p\_n\_specials\_match%3A21213697011&rnid=21213696011&smid=A2G7XLYBE9E8BH&a...
My baby loved the toys where stuffed squeakers are tucked in little holes of another stuffed toy. Here’s an example https://www.chewy.com/zippypaws-burrow-squeaky-hide-seek/dp/131764?utm_source=google-product&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=12651121862&utm_content=ZippyPaws&utm_term=&gbraid=0AAAAADmQ2V0hTZBO7N4AKLR-DESKQ9_SS&gclid=CjwKCAjwtc...
More than likely sweet girl has a slight ear infection, they are prone to them. I use the above and then if that doesn’t help, I call the vet. Currently using it on my 7 month old now 😅 good luck, and hope she feels better soon!! 🙏🏻💜🌸
Check into the onesies they sell for surgery recovery so she doesn’t have to wear the cone of shame. For example surgery recovery suit
Bed Sheet Clips Straps Sheet... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N3OJHTY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
These are the clips we use. We put the diaper on with the tabs facing up and then clip the sheet clips on the harness and the other side on the tabs of the diaper.
It is amazing and hasn’t been punctured yet
My girl developed chronic diarrhea and stomach issues. Turns out she has IBD. Her vet prescribed this food which is pricey but it’s the only thing she can handle. Bonus that it’s probiotic and she has healthy poops now.

Honest Kitchen Grain Free Turkey in a Fluff Trough
My Boston is a heavy power-chewer as well, so finding toys that can withstand him has been tough - especially since our other dog, a GSD/mastiff mix, is also a power-chewer. But this has been my go-to toy ever since I found it:You can find it here:. It’s pricey, but I haven’t been able to find anything else that lasts as long!
Do you have a puppy gate/playpen? That was really helpful for us when we need them in a safe place but they needed more room then the crate. Also, puppy pads don't have to be single use (obviously for poop they are) but a small pee spot will actually help him smell where he's supposed to go pee. Then move the pads closer to the door he'll go out of when he's just peeing outside (it will happen, promise).
IRIS USA Dog Playpen - Pet Exercise Pen with Door - 4 to 8 Panel Sizes https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FDHB4NC/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_D3NA9Q9ZTMYK6HSM40YP
At 3 months, we were using a small harness from Voyager. At a year old, he was about 20 pounds and we moved to a medium. I would check the size chart before making a purchase. Sizes can vary wildly by brand.
Toys that squeak, crunch, tug, hoot, etc…. This is the fun part just go to a toy store and pick six toys that are very different from each other to see what your pup likes. Brake Casalic dogs need balls that have holes allowed in to breathe while carrying them.
For what it is worth I found This
It was expensive but totally worth the money. My guy could practically live his best life without the cone nonsense.
Does the area have almost a fermented/funky wine smell to it? My girl had something similar on her neck a few times and we’ve used this to clear it up 🤷🏻♀️
We use these, my pair love them 😊

Thanks! The one on Bulldozer (the Boston) is $11 on Walmart's website; Vibrant life click here for red coat
The one with the ears is ridiculous; it's from Chewy and it's on sale for $7! It's thick and adorable, and very functional for my male Chihuahua (he doesn't pee on it!) 😆click here for grey coat

Depending on the weather we add long leg sweaters/pajamas or a sweater underneath.
Also in Chicago, I use this Carhartt Jacket (Carhartt Pet Firm Duck Insulated Dog Chore Coat https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NSBG96R/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_9K4WKK4YGDGS9MW9GC9M?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 ) and Fit warm hoodies off of Amazon. My Boston also doesn’t like the cold, but he doesn’t mind going on walks when he has this combo on. Ordered a Canada Pooch Snow suit and booties that should be arriving today. Will let you know what he thinks once they arrive.
So we have a basket style and a mesh style. I would go basket style.
We got this one (BARKLESS Short Snout Dog Muzzle, Soft Silicone Flat Faced Muzzle for French Bulldog Shih Tzu and Pug for Biting Chewing Licking and Grooming, Allows Panting https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09FDWDPGD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_KSVAJJ4PE58C2NQEBBD1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) and it took some training, but she now wears it without much trouble. She CAN get it off (I’ve got it tightened as tight as I’m willing to go - feel like it would be choking her any tighter), but the training we’ve done keeps her from trying. Just remember, lots of positive reinforcement and practice wearing it a bunch at home.
Don’t be afraid to do what’s right for your pup. My girl is the SWEETEST with the family but HATES strange men. So it’s safer for her, her brother, and our family for her to be muzzled when we go out. Added benefit is that she listens even better with it on (and she’s usually the less stubborn of our two).

My Boston had very similar symptoms and was diagnosed with IBS. The vet switched her to prescription food that has probiotics and within a day she stopped puking/having diarrhea.
This is what I feed her— it’s Rx only.
My last boy had these, it was just a fungal kind of thing. I have these on hand and they always cleared it up. The pads are fairly large so I usually cut them in half.

Poor baby! Could just be needing to restart her digestive. You might want to do a bland diet of just boiled chicken & watery rice for 5 days- I just recently dealt with some blood in the diarrhea too- they worried blockage- We were also recommended to start adding fortiflora to his meal- once a day-(probiotic)

Once you do 5 days of a bland diet- you slowly start adding back in what normal Diet is- not all At once…
This was all my vet recommended & my guys poops have been back to “normal” I was also prescribed “Endosorb” to help if he has future diarrhea… but yes- the blood should be ruled out- my vet this week described sometimes the blood is the intestines having to work extra hard…
Good luck! * bland diet for 5 days***
My guy was fine & then 6 mos ago not So fine- he’s just recently not turning into a gremlin growler when I put him in his carseat. I have this one- the large- he’s a 25lber.

And I put on spa like music to help with calming him. 😂🙃 my Prince.. … he’s been getting noticeably better- I too am envious when I see pups jump right in the car with excitement. GOOD LUCK & have a great trip! Take potty breaks & bring wipes/trash bags just incase
I wash my guy every 4ish weeks… you may be washing too often? .. you can do wipes inbetween-my vet recommended- especially for allergies…. I brush my guy with a Bristle brush.. i should brush him more… - fish oil is actually suppose to be great for their coats- my vet recommended - love this shampoo… TropiClean PerfectFur Smooth Coat Shampoo for Dogs, 16oz - Made in USA - Naturally Derived - Smooth Coat Formula - Moisturizing & Shed Control for Skin-Hugging Coats Like Bulldogs, Boxers, & Pointers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08JM87SXG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_RJBBGJA8QNY6DEQPEKYT?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Thank you for your input, I don’t think the dog is malnourished either but then again it is a bit hard to tell from the picture. I went ahead and put another picture down. The puppy is AKC from what I was told, so I can probably see if the parents were also rather skinny it could be genetic after-all.
I went ahead and added another image to give you a better look at the puppy.
If it helps the puppy is 3 months old

My dog used to eat poo, i started to add a small amount of supplements powder to her food and she very quickly stopped eating poo.
Granted the powder above is meant as a BARF supplements and i don't feed my dog BARF, but i liked the ingredients listed and i give her less than half the recommended amount of the powder.
She doesn't like the taste but in terms of health energy levels she is doing great.
yeah these TUFFY were "tough" lol to him a couple mins is a cheap toy from TJ Max, usually the "sturdy" ones last him between 2 hours and 24 hours. I bought him the eagles from the below link and each of these lasted him like 5 days, so a total of like 15-15 days worth of toys.

Just FYI: they make a version of these that is just basically like an inflatable donut that goes around their neck which prevents them from bending their neck enough to chew at stiches for most surgeries. It's a lot more comfortable for them than the cone since it doesn't block their peripheral vision, and is generally less cumbersome. https://www.amazon.com/Protective-Inflatable-Collar-Dogs-Collar/dp/B0725C3RJX/

Our Boston who is 11 had issues with skin rashes that turned out to be allergies. Grasses and pollens, as well as mold, but it has always been very specific to the place we are in. She was fine in D.C. proper, but not fine when we moved out to the 'burbs in Maryland. Fine for the first two years we lived in the 'burbs in Sweden, not fine when we moved into the city. Go figure. She flares up only depending on the environment she is in, and the Fall is worse than any other season. Often these flareups lead to bacterial skin infections, which is when we see the redness and swelling. Definitely clean the paws and in between the toes anytime he has been outside. We have her on a treatment right now of https://www.amazon.com/Douxo-Chlorhexidine-Shampoo-16-9-oz/dp/B000O1HEJ0 and the antibacterial foam, but you would want to talk this through with your vet to be sure.
Try a slow feeder bowl. They’re open on top and have “fins” on the inside. I use them for foster dogs that can’t slow down they’re eating. You can put wet and dry food in them, as well. I have a Gooby harness, and it's held up well for 1-1.5 hours of walking every day for the last 15 months or so. I bought it based on recs from others on this forum, and it really does fit Boston chests and necks well. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01H8IK3SK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fab_BcCFFb62HWW5Y
I used this when my Boston injured his paw and was activity restricted: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07CRS4FWW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_R3GuFbS94F8JQ
He loves it! He jumps right in when I offer a snack or two, and the backpack is super adjustable.

I wanted a high sided strong bed to replace his crate, this one is brilliant. I also bought a pram duvet and pillow with covers designed for babies which fits beautifully.
Amazon, although this is his second Danish House, I got the first one from a pet store, he had it for 4 years, since he was a puppy, but it was a bit damaged (he was a hell of a chewer!) so I bought him a new one because he loves it! I accidentally bought small size and he couldn’t get in, he was so annoyed :D had to buy again in large size and donate the small one to my mums cat :P
