- 1) Be wary of street vendors. When they see foreigners, they assume you have fat wallets and will charge you inordinate rates at first.
- 2) Have an indian contact and a cellphone with you all the time.
- 3) If you are a women do not wear skirts higher than your knees. No low cut shirts either. If you are a guy, wear full length jeans or knee shorts.

That way, the driver knows that someone else knows who you’re travelling with. It also means that if he drops you somewhere, you can call him after you’ve eaten/ looked around so he can pick you up again.

yeah try to gaze on new moon days or days close to new moon. apart from light pollution, moon is the biggest thing thats gonna stop u from seeing galaxies n clusters on binoculars. but even when the moon is there, u can gaze at the moon
plus u need to let ur eyes adjust to the dark (for about 20 mins) so it becomes sensitive to the weak light from the sky. even using ur phone on medium settings will ruin ur eyes sensitivity. I always used to turn on red filter for my phone n bring the brightness all the way down if I was gazing with a companion app.
ps: try looking for iridium flares if u are using binoculars. they're super predictable(but doesn't last long) and binoculars are perfect for them.

I guess the ground rule to reading books in languages that we are not comfortable reading in, is to start reading on subjects/topics that interests us. I don't know why most people here are so against this, what they claim might and can be true, but at the same time, it's useless in most cases. Remember these are supplements not a replacement for actual food despite what they claim it's not "a meal", it doesn't matter if it has 1000000% of something as long as it is under safe levels, your body will absorb only what it needs. 99% of these supplements are useless if you normally consume the required nutrients in food but if your food lacks some your body can get them from these supplements.
Also, I never heard of this brand and their claim and weird use of % makes it seem dubious, if you're considering buying this I would recommend getting something from a well-recognized brand, I bought one from Parry's for my dad in 2020 because he insisted to buy one even though I tried to convince him these are useless, I only bought it because I recognized the brand would've never bought some from random brands.

I've done a hell lot of touring in India and US myself, and typically for me, when I reach a new place, I'd like to spend hours studying up the must-visit places, eating points and transit options, then go it and do it all alone. Have had plenty of success in most places.

We're talking about a temperature of 28.7C(heat index, which is the actual feel, is 32.7 C) at freaking 6AM. Add this with a humidity of 84%. The evening is not much different - 7.10PM shows 31C, heat index 37.6 and RH of 70%. I'm not sure how long you're going to be comfortable outdoors in such conditions. I know for sure that within 5 minutes, my shirt is soggy with sweat and I start dreading it because the crazy traffic ensures I won't be home for another hour at least.
You might want to venture out around the area where you stay the first couple of days, and then push it from there. I know the Chennai-diehards will hate me for this but I'd say Chennai has some of the most hostile weather conditions in the world(and I've seen Dallas summers and Kentucky winters, where a hard-ass attitude is enough to survive the outdoors)

As for what to look for
Capacity : 6-6.5kg is good enough for a family of 2-4 provided you wash your clothes individually.
Front load/top load : Front loads are more efficient in terms of power and water usage and they also wash better. But they are costlier.
Top loads are cheaper and also easy to use for old people with back problems.
- Fully Automatic/semi-automatic : In automatic ones you just put cloths in, select wash program and start and then take out and dry cloths once the machine is done. Semi automatic ones will have a washer and dryer and you have to wash first and then put the clothes on dryer and dry them. Fully automatic are easier to use. Anything in the 30k price range will be fully automatic so you don't have to think about this.

I referred this when I started my prep. Use old syllabus books. You could find free pdf in some sites. If you go to Anna Nagar, you could buy printouts iirc.
Always keep a printout of syllabus nearby.
Economics is something you would always find less prepared. My suggestion would be this book by Sankar Ganesh for concepts.

First you have to add your vehicle, so do that before heading out. The app also requires a better than average data connection. The concept is that you have have an available space (according to the app) and only then can you park the car and pay. I had gone to Besant nagar beach and the app showed no vacant space while I had managed to find a space and park the car. So I couldn't pay via app. Ended up paying cash to the attendant.

Will try tonight to watch at the moon and then see what happens,as I wear specs -2 no I remove them to have a better view of the eyepiece and it doesnt feel right, and i cant use binoculars with specs, ,so since i got the high zoom cam, i prefer to use it to zoom on objects, . Carrying a binoculars or high zoom camera in India and shooting pics or looking in Public feels too ackward to do alone. Once we can go to beach so that we can look at far off objects like couples (both ships n humans) Hehehe
